BTW, when last did they 'suck your blood', muskeeto? I'm not aware of any discovered cure yet for 'sleep paralysis', but i know Jesus makes that 'paralysis' flee since forever. Your gods are late.

musKeeto: Lol, of course... Jesus took care of them but still gives Christians ability to treat that which he has taken care of..
Amazing... makes a lot of sense...
He gives everyone, not just Christians ability and wisdom and sanity. He's smart enough, unlike you to know and consider that not everybody has FAITH in Him to be healed of each sickness, not even all His disciples have faith the size of a mustard seed. He thereby made alternative provisions in natural foods, therapies, pharmaceutical development and so on.
you're just a confused fellow. If God gave alternatives, you'll complain on how amazed you are. where He gave no alternatives(matter of salvation from sin for instance), you still remain foolishly amazed. He is the Amazing God with amazing grace.

you must be dunce headed to think that religion is the cause of all your problems and secularism the solution to it. i don't have the time nor desire for useless arguments.you can go present them data arguments to your parents and relatives.

i don't like to argue with blind people about colours. Jesus made the whole world and all that is in it. Nobody gets anything except Jesus gives it to him.

You are just beating around the bush. The people who compiled the peace index used a lot of inidcators to make that table such as political instability, relationship with neighboring countries, criminality in the society etc.

Secularity is a prerequisite for freedom. Fact. Religion can not guarantee you freedom from religion or rather, freedom from itself. Only a secular country can guarantee you freedom from religion, of religion and full human rights.

The peace index is not useless.

Furthermore, only 15% of the 72% go to church. Furthermore the fgure for christians in new zealand is not 72%, it is the people that believe in God. Christians in New Zealand are about 50%
Like i told you, peace is relative. Anyone can pull up data and links on the internet to support his/her positions. i'll give you 3 links showing there is some form of crises going on in your hero countries. Iceland(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008%E2%80%932012_Icelandic_financial_crisis), New Zealand (http://nz.news.yahoo.com/a/-/top-stories/13813236/nz-journalism-in-crisis/), and Japan (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12726297). The point is that they are also facing their own troubles, and nobody is spared from trouble because you stop going to church or believing in God. They sure die in these countries too, they have prisons, murderers, sick people, mental homes, people who commit suicide etc. So again, peace is relative. Peace involves tranquility, law and order, freedom from war. But it also involves the individual persons, your body, your mental state, your spiritual state and your eternal state. i'm in Nigeria, and i'm certqain that i enjoy more peace than many in japan. Many rich men and powerful people all over the world claim to believe in God. It is not their religiousity or secularity that brings them peace.

logicboy: So Jesus heals your medical problems? Then you should avoid those doctors
you're no different from some of the 'christian' preachers that zealously preach against receiving medical treatment or using drugs. you're one frustrated soul. Jesus, nor the Bible never asked anyone to avoid doctors. Christians study medicine and become world renowed doctors. Jesus also gave them the wisdom and right. cool

you do yourself a disservice. i have no such useless unique experiences, Jesus took care of them for moi, jealous.

they both have to do with genetic issues. Those issues are a result of Adam/man's sin which gave room for imperfections. I showed thehomer all that, his reaction was attempts to mock the Christianity but he got tired.

If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do? So many factors but the major been a lack of the fear of God and a very faulty foundation. The cheap and short term solution may be to order a switch off, of course you'll earn names like legalistic and holier than thou.
One major fault which is not just seen in church is the media. The present generation is brought up in picture/motion/TV world. It now takes discipline for them to pay attention to a sermon, lecture or book. too much TV, meaning you need the real Holy Ghost to get through to them. or you have to be overly dramatic, catchy and funny.

logicboy: Out of that 72% who believe in God in New zealand, how many of them go to church?

"Religion in New Zealand is dominated demographically by Christianity, at just over half of the population at the 2006 New Zealand Census[1] although regular church attendance is probably closer to 15%""

Furthermore, New Zealand is a secular country, Nigeria is not. Did you also notice that 27% are clearly agnostic/atheist n ~New Zealand, while Nigeria has less than 1% atheists.
=================================================================

Did you also ignore the picture of the world peace index? Are you that shallow?

Yes, Japan, New Zealand and Iceland are peaceful because they are secular, secularity is a prerequiesite fro peace and freedom, not religion

72 is naturally more than two times of 27, it's natural to take more note of the 72 as been responsible for the happenings if that's a reliable benchmark, that is. Your table is useless as i also have mine table that says there is no peace for the sinner. Peace and freedom are relative you know? Neither secularity nor religion is a prerequisite for peace or freedom.

Martian: If it wasn't one of the measures, "prosperity gospel" wouldn't be the most popular form of christianity in Nigeria.

You mean the ones who would have a harder task getting into the "kingdom of god" than a camel going through the eye of a needle? When you say the "rich and powerful people" in Nigeria, do you mean christians like OBJ and muslims like IBB? Ibori was a "rich and powerful" person too. Maybe when the poverty stricken masses see PimpDaddy G.O shaking Ibori's hand they get inspired by the holy spirit.

You need to quit smoking that opium.
is there a poverty gospel anywhere?
Anyone you know who is among the richest and most powerful in nigeria is religious, you can go and drink vomit if that fact hurts you.

logicboy: Iceland
-A Gallup poll conducted in 2011 found that 60% of Icelanders considered religion to be unimportant in their daily lives, one of the highest rates of irreligion in the world.[3

New Zealand
-The results of this survey indicated that 72% of the population believe in God or a higher power, 15% are agnostic, and 13% are atheist (with a 3% margin of error).[8]

Japan
-64% atheistic
if 72% of new zealand believes in God, why claim it is not religious. are you an illiterate? And for the other two countries , you mean to say those are your epitome of peace and freedom? iceland freedom and japan peace? hmmm,ok. Do those countries experience their freedom and peace because of not being religious?

Martian: Are you insecured? Are you having a crisis of faith? Is your faith shaken? Why did you make this statement when the OP didn't say anything about the existence of god? Why appeal to the wealth of a few individual believers when the question is about poverty and church attendance?

You insecurity laid bare for everyone to see..............

Maybe this is what you meant to say
the plain point is that poverty is not the measure of been religious(believing there is a God). rich and powerful people, the richest and the most powerful are also religious in Nigeria. you need your drugs.

The most peaceful and free countries in the world are secular and have a lot of atheist. The poorest are religious
what's your index for peace and freedom. i don't believe having peace or freedom has anything to do with not believing God.

Jem1: Bros, since all the tithes were by command of the Lord since it was HOLY and BELONGED to the Lord, they always were 'paying' when they met the obligation on what they did with Tithes (according to His command). But if you insist, the Pharisee who tithed mint and cumin could have been 'paying' the following obligation:

Deut 26:12

"When you have finished setting aside a tenth of all your produce in the third year, the year of the tithe, you shall give it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow, so that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied."

- So, Jesus in referring to 'tithes of mint, cumin etc', could have been referring to this:

Deut 26:13

"Then say to the Lord your God: “I have removed from my house the sacred portion and have given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow, according to all you commanded. I have not turned aside from your commands nor have I forgotten any of them.

- At the end of the day among the Israelites, TITHES were always EATEN either by the LEVITES, WIDOWS, ORPHANS, FOREIGNER or the TITHER(Deut 14:26) by command of the Lord.

@Bro Image, the tithe you boasted to me you paid in post 917, hope you remembered the fatherless and the widow also? Since you are trying to keep the COMMAND of the Lord. Or will you be robbing God if you give it to them to eat from it?

Or have you forgotten some of His commands?
the 'He' referred to is Jesus who said in Matthew 23 that ye pay tithe. Why would He say it was paid if it was eaten? you sure have been to debo's makossa class, don't be shy? you have?
Christianity Etc › Re: Uncomfortable Questions For Tithe Preachers by Image123(m): 5:28pm On May 23, 2012
Jem1: lol bro, don't worry, when you tithe to me, I'll remove a tenth from your tithe and do likewise wink . I don't have to tithe from my own increase since you say I should do likewise lol. I shall simply pay a tithe of your tithe. Pls point the way to Aaron's sons so I can present it them cheesy
Ha, you late. I already gave mine ti Another. it would have been considered as your increase BTW
Christianity Etc › Re: Uncomfortable Questions For Tithe Preachers by Image123(m): 4:01pm On May 23, 2012
Jem1: @Goshen, bro Image already paid tithes in Abram to Melchisedec.. Even Levites didn't have to pay again. Since Hebrews gives no new instructions to pay, bro image is being a cheerful giver. Never mind him trying to dress it up to impress God.
the levites gave tithes in Abraham but still had to give when they came 'alive'. Go and do likewise ye.
Christianity Etc › Re: Uncomfortable Questions For Tithe Preachers by Image123(m): 3:58pm On May 23, 2012
Jem1: Bro Debosky, our brother has forgotten that Jesus did not specifically say 'this (temple tithe) you must do', He could have meant 'festival tithe' and bro Image would be well within his rights to eat his mint & cumin lol. He can even sell it & buy anything his soul lusteth after cheesy
why will He use 'pay' tithe if it was eaten? cheesycheesycheesy
Christianity Etc › Re: Uncomfortable Questions For Tithe Preachers by Image123(m): 3:53pm On May 23, 2012
debosky: I hope you tithed cumin, mint and anise to Jesus as he 'commanded' in Matthew and Hebrew? grin

Maybe I missed bible classes because of my makossa again, but I don't recall seeing Jesus commanding people to give him tithes in Matthew. But then again I might be wrong. grin
nah, I don't do anise or cummin. mint maybe, the cash waS mint. hehehe. You should reduce this makossa classes, i thought you said you're a priest.
