but what wrong would it do if the name of the apostle Paul in mentioned in the success story, l don't think it would change anything or would it?
It's already answered if you've been reading the thread and what the likes of nlmediator are saying. Putting Paul in bad light by claiming that he has greater light and greater truth, and that he came to show us the way to salvation, and that others are writing milk and unskilled quality is very childish and fleshly, if not progressing towards blasphemy and heresy.

Paul himself didn't give himself such flattery. The Word of God is 66books authored by God. One part is not more inspired than the other. No need calling names, Paul has his reward from God. If you want to call Paul in this story, then do diligence to call others too to the parti.

Stop wrongly dividing the Word of truth. The scriptures make one wise unto salvation. It's poison to allege that it is pauline epistles that make one wise unto salvation. The Spirit of God has given a wonderful unity and harmony to the Bible. Repent of your carnal comparisons, divisions and awards.

Webster's Bible Translation
And saith to him, Every man at the beginning presenteth good wine; and when men have well drank, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
Bible in Basic English
And said to him, Every man first puts out his best wine and when all have had enough he puts out what is not so good; but you have kept the good wine till now.

How this keeps recurring's beyond me. Don't people ever consider the option that 'drunk' in the verse may be past participle abi wetin be that word my english teacher dey talk? "have well drunk" is different in meaning from "are well drunk" especially if context is played. Well sha, i no ready make people dey blaspheme on my head, let me step aside.

^^ Jesus was in the NT  undecided
Sort out your facts please. You're all over the place right now.

As to you having some sort of issue with this, how will the curse differentiate between you and Boko Haram and it's supporters?
You're just been moved to have issues with something that really shouldn't concern you.

Subtract yourself from the equation for the sake of your own peace.
I didn't state that Jesus was a part of the NT or OT, sort out your facts. The rest of the post is bemusing. Are you a member of LivingFaith? that's the only way that post above might make some sort of meaning.

^^Dude . . . Jesus cursed a tree for not yielding fruit when he was hungry. undecided
What's your beef?

I believe people who have murdered and violated people and are unrepentant about it, deserve serious curse.
Oh, do you think there were no murderers and violators and sinners in Israel when Jesus walked the earth? Did He place 'deserved curses' on them? How do you find it easy to compare a man, nay, thousands of men, to one fig tree used as a sign?
1Peter 3v9 Not rendering EVIL FOR EVIL, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; KNOWING THAT YE ARE THEREUNTO CALLED, that ye should inherit a blessing.
NT commands no be jekojeko. I keep telling folks that the NT is harder than the OT, not less, but He gives grace if we come for it, that is.

If you don't have something meaningful to contribute sir, let me be. Your religious prayer is more like a polite insult.I see it as carnal an unedifying. I understsnd such language. You can keep the prayers for yourself thanks.
Jo, if you understand my language, is it not hypocritical to demand an explanation? Why are you politely insulting me by calling me sir and in the same vein telling me to keep quiet?
I have to pray for you, I'll be disobeying God if i didn't pray for you, thanks.

nlMediator, o se. Thanks for mediating, couldn't have said it better ithink.
Jo, you should be saying 'amen', not asking for explanation of my prayers, is it that deep or high? The disciples turned THE WORLD upside down, here you are turning THE BIBLE upside down. May God help you in Jesus' name.

i guess you can distinguish between a moving bus when you have an important place to go and internet browsing. Do you open up to 10 pages on while on internet evangelising?

May you grow up and stop dividing Christ. May you come to understand that the Word is God, not Paul, Mark and Luke. May God help you believe and increase your faith. May He save you from deep yet sinking truths that do not place you in a position of victory over sin, satan and worldliness.
These are my prayers for you today, in Jesus' name.

Christianity Etc › Re: How Do You Keep Faith After Asking God For A Blessing For 16years by Image123(m): 7:22am On Nov 21, 2011
You're blessed already as you've said. It's suprising that you're asking how you'd keep faith. Count your blessings. You've got childREN, you've got good health, seems you've got wealth. Many don't even have these and are keeping faith. Hold on to God, and let nothing separate you from His love(if you're in His love, that is). Ask God if He's willing to give you your request. If yes, hold on, you'll get it. It's also possible that it may not be God's perfect will to give your particular request. It may be you're not asking enough. It may be there's an hindrance to your receiving this particular request. Sometimes, God in His infinite wisdom doesn't give us somethings when He sees it could hurt us more than help us. It may hurt your consecration, your love, your fruit, your meekness, your eternal life. Sometimes, maybe we're not ready for what we ask, and yet think we are. So many reasons, but firstly, ask God if He's willing to give you your request.
Christianity Etc › Re: Of Jesus, God, Forgiveness And Final Judgement by Image123(m): 8:14pm On Nov 20, 2011

@image123.
Thank you.
Yours is the only real and straightforward answer so far. In summary, your answer is that jesus cleansed all sins, god forgives whatever is leftover through paryer, no judgement for those who have faith in the sacrifice of jesus, but inevitable judgement for those who do not believe(non-christians).
Interesting, whether it true or not.
Yes, and to be clear still, Jesus cleansed all sins including the 'left overs'. Forgiveness from/by God is hinged on the sacrifice of Jesus. When we ask God for forgiveness of our sins/debts/left overs, He forgives BECAUSE Jesus Christ paid for it, and we accept His payment by faith.

There's no big deal about preaching on an aeroplane. That you've not seen it before doesn't mean it's never happened, villagers. I've heard a whiteman, a WHITEMAN for that matter, talk about how he preached in an airplane and the positive response he got. On a major scale though, it's against the rules to stand and preach or speak/announce anything loudly on the airplane, preaching or no.
Christianity Etc › Re: Evangelism In Public Buses Is Madness by Image123(m): 11:43pm On Nov 19, 2011
It's unfortunate that every opportunity's taken to mudsling christianity, the church or the government. There's indiscipline and corruption in the whole land. There's pollution and disregard everywhere. What with the family that rears animals like pigs, chicken, cats, dogs, goats etc. All the litter, the smell, the barkings and crowings. What of my friend that starts his lista generator anytime, and the noise and the exhaust directed right into my other friend's window. What with waste disposal early in the morning on my door and path. What of the leaking soak away and septic tanks that make me raise my skirts like i'm on the aisle leaving home. Can i forget the horror of noise once nepa brings my neighbour's light, and if begins to blast us with the latest songs when all i need is peace and quiet. Should i not mention the partition where the viewing centre now stands, and the shouts of goal and chelsea, barca fans override our home's discussion. And those bus drivers who attach subwoofers and speakers into buses and cabs, and you only know some respite if you had to receive a call. And when there's two friends in the same bus with you, the go on in lively chatter and gossip about what you do not need to know? And on and on i can go, abegi, carry go preacher, you're not our biggest problem.
Christianity Etc › Re: Church Wedding: Anatomy Of Nonsense by Image123(m): 11:23pm On Nov 19, 2011
There's nothing so wrong in 'church wedding'. What we should watch is that it be done in moderation. Everything we do on earth should be done in moderation BTW. Unfortunately, like the op's noticed, most church ceremonies, most ceremonies are abused whether done in church or not.
