HAPPY NEW YEAR to you. Why you surprise na, this is a more important issue, and it's 'killing' many people. It's not like a slap that even the recipient has forgotten about. And note that i'm not saying anyone is fake or a thief(or all those other names you guys use). Those are not solid parameters for measurement.
But it gets disturbing when things like "A new airport that is very big is coming. Many of the aircrafts at the new airport will have written of them - The Redeemed Christian Church of God." seen here become the norm and hope of many believers.

And please, the informed ones should please again, educate me on the major discoveries in the automobile and aviation world last year.
I'm not against Pastor Adeboye per say, and i ask for concrete evidence as to when he made these 'prophecies', similar to the youtube evidences for TB's. Must say again that these quest for prophecy, sign and wonder is BAD, and these pastors should not be tempted to fall for it. Believers should be fed with the whole Word of God, not half a verse and many stories. When they know the Word, they'll know God, and would not be foolishly deceived by all these 'bring your money, bring your body, i have to pray for you preachers'.

Amen to every prophesy of the Man of God.
I agree with all the prophecies and they will surely come to pass.
"1. God says He has surprises both for His own and for the enemies of the church.
2. He said before this year ends, it will be said of Nigeria; all is well that ends well.
3, He said we are to pray more for prominent Nigerians, so that those who see this year may see the next."

So you want God to surprise you? How? You don't know Him, or you don't like His current dispositions?
And you want to pray that prominent nigerians do not die? What of the non-prominent ones like you? Little wonder the prominent ones that have wrecked this nation remain alive and well. Any links to where or when Pastor Adeboye said these by the way?

Pastors should not be pressured into giving 'a word from God' if they have none. All these pressure for theme of the year, prophecy of the year, Word for the day. Makes it all become routine.

January 1 2Peter 1v2

2Pet 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

Happy happy new year to you. Can you believe it, some people saw yesterday and did not see today? Well, I pray that you have many returns if Jesus tarries.
As it's popular in Christian settings, we say that it is by the Grace if God that you are still alive. If that's true, then how much more we need grace everyday. It's something we should be praying for, like the apostle Paul prayed for the grace of our lord Jesus Christ and the love of God for the corinthian believers.
We should not take grace for granted as it is a quality that can increase and can decrease in one's life. In other words, grace can finish in your life, and grace can be multiplied as shown in today's passage.
To live in this new year abundantly, we also need peace. What is the use of a graceless peace, or a peaceless grace. Grace and peace should flow together, that is what balances life's equation. As we look at the nation and the world around us, no doubt, there should arise a desire for the multiplication of peace. The government, the police, even the UNO, seem perplexed on peace solutions. But Today's passage gives a priceless gem. It is that grace and PEACE can be multiplied by the knowledge of God, and of Jesus. Knowing Jesus increases peace, He is the prince of peace. An increase in the knowledge of God results in an increase in peace, God is the God of peace.
Do you wonder that as the world seeks to know less of God, and to have less to do with God, there is a corresponding and continuous decrease in world peace? Wonder no more. You need peace in your life this year, an increase of peace. A multiplication of peace for you and your family, go for a conscious increase in the knowledge of God. Know God more. This year, add to your faith. Make a purposes effort to grow spiritually. Peace be unto you.

Im not criticising those who had cancelled their meetings, im only giving a precautionary warning. If we begin to give in, we will soon compromise even openly worshiping God any day.  We should rather deal with this matter spiritually than closing eyes waiting for it to Go .it won't go. We must take our stand in intercession for the nation.

Psalms 127:1
. . .except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

I believe we can take precautionary measure physically to prevent evil . We can improve security or get bomb dictectors etc, but we must not abandon our christian meetings.

Hebrews 10:25
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together. . .

If we have to meet in caves or under trees, we must meet.
TRUCE my friend. Happy New Year.

So if Boko boys threaten to bomb churches on sunday we all should say good bye to our services in order to stay alive, isn't that the best way to for them to even win the war? How many times did MEND issue altimatum to the oil firms to vacate their region, was it stupidity that made them remain?

Some of the reasons the oil firms remain is because they have security. A security system that can respond fire for fire. They've got government support and international support. They've got the best of the country's militia. And they have 'boundaries'. The churches do not have any of these. Attack can come from anywhere to anyone anywhere. It's 'cross over night', not all church services cancelled. And not all churches cancelled, some are having it, some have. There's nothing wrong with precautionary measures. Seeing you're so bold for Jesus, go start missionary work in the north na. Many people talking here are just yapping from the comfort of their homes. They probably never seen violence before, they think it's what they see in films. Some cannot go to school or serve in the north, but they're here showing conrage. If you're tired of life, doesn't mean everyone else should be.

Shut up there you dullard. We berate pastors for relying on bodyguards, bullet proof vehicles and sophisticated body armour. Doesn't God have enough angels for them?
You could have told Daniel and his group or told Paul and Silas to take precautions in the face of imminent danger. Or do you think your God has fallen asleep again? Why don't you show your solidarity by defying the faith based initiative called Boko Haram?
Sure the devil tells Jesus to jump down it is temptation but Jesus was willing to be wandering about on water. Wasn't he afraid of drowning?
I'm in some mood presently, so permit me to chip in. There's nothing wrong with making use of available protection like bulletproof vehicle IF NECESSARY.
Daniel, Paul and Silas were under direct attack/persecution. It was either God or fire/den/prison. BH is not direct but random. It's aimed at anybody, any large gatherings. Being careless or foolhardy is not a christian virtue.
Jesus/christians do not live by the instruction of satan or general opinion. They live by the Word of God. If God says number, we number. If satan says number, we do not. Bloody children of Adam always crave to live after the principle of good and evil, right and wrong. Children of God are led by the Spirit of life.

WATCH and pray. Don't just pray, but watch and pray. Many suspected that the bombers will strike on independence day and christmas day, they did. They may also strike on new year day, so why not be wise. Jesus has already died for nigeria, even for the whole world. There's no need for anybody to be killed for nothing. If atheists and sinners like, let them gather. At least if they can't give their lives to Jesus, they'll give it to BH. Wisdom is profitable to direct.

muskeeto,
To streamline, i asked
Do you believe in the existence of witchcraft, sorcery or spirit possession?
To which you've replied the below quote.
This should tell you I don't believe in witches.
English is a beautiful language, you know? i'd love to keep it this simple. i don't enjoy useless wrangling of words.
1Timothy 6v4b CEV: Their minds are sick, and they like to argue over words. They cause jealousy, disagreements, unkind words, evil suspicions,

So i believe it's safe enough to conclude that you do not believe in sorcery or someone being possessed by a spirit/spirits? Because that's what the above means. And my assessment is in order. i'm not here to convince you on the existence or belief in such, except you asked me to. It makes little significance like i earlier said. It doesn't exactly make one more/less acceptable with God. So to your questions? the quoted below ithink?

Simple Yes/No
1. Was the girl a witch?
2. Was Oyedepo right?
3. Should Christians keep quiet when they see wrong  and ignore it?
4. Do you believe in witchcraft?

Sorry, your questions are not yes or no questions.

1. Was the girl a witch?
I don't know, i'm not omniscient, neither do i have a 'gift' of knowing witches. Two things that i know are that firstly the girl consistently and defiantly said that she was a witch, also she came out with other 'witches' when when they were told to come out. If you noticed, the conversation was not a "are you a witch?" one but a "you've been there for how long?" conversation. Prior to that, witches were told to come out and she came out with those others seen kneeling. Secondly, i know that the girl was a sinner. If she's lying that she's a witch, she's a sinner because liars are sinners. If she's not lying, she's still a sinner because witches are sinners.

2. Was Oyedepo right?
The question is not too clear. Was he right as in to do what? If you mean whether he was right to slap her, i don't know. It's not my call. He may be right or he may be wrong. But does it make him false? NO. Does it send him to hell, or make him lose his salvation? NO. I should ask what you think, is it right to slap anybody for anything whatsoever?

3. Should Christians keep quiet when they see wrong  and ignore it?
If it's not their business, YES.

1Peter 4:15  But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.
1Thess 4:11  And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
Pro 26:17  He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears.
(GNB)  Getting involved in an argument that is none of your business is like going down the street and grabbing a dog by the ears.
(CEV)  It's better to take hold of a mad dog by the ears than to take part in someone else's argument.

Jesus and his disciples were not going about correcting all the 'wrong things'. Many wrong things were done to Jesus, and He just stared like a du.mb sheep. Many things were wrong in the government of His time. Paul had a wrong girl moving around with him for days and he said nothing at first.

4. Do you believe in witchcraft?
Yes. And the Bible talks about witchcraft many times.

Do you see that picture that Jenifa posted (Post 404)? The white banner clearly says "We Are NOT WITCHES". Oyedepo's video clearly shows a girl saying "I AM A WITCH FOR JESUS. MY OWN WITCH IS FOR JESUS, I'M WITCH FOR JESUS". Ir say that about three times, not to count what she mumbled when the mic wasn't close. Is it possible for you to spot the difference?
i must add that i'm afraid for you and surprised at you, please do be very careful, as a professing christian.

And so that it's not recorded that Jesus mentioned the word 'witch' when physically present on earth translates into him not believing in them? Yeah right, is this musKeeto? Calling you foolish would be an insult to foolish People. You are beyond them.  What position did you obtain in school. You lack the cognitive ability to reason and you chat like an uneducated fool. Just because you can read and write don't make you educated. It's ok for Your church to have prayer warriors but it's not ok for to be a witch for Jesus? Answer me this; Did Jesus have any prayer warriors. Answe is no. You celebrate your birthday but name any Christian in the bible who did? Pharorah and Herod were certainly not Christians.

Do you really believe in spirits, sorcery and witches. If yes, then you are a complete Superstitious lunatic. Your parents deserve a refund for sending you to school.

Answer me this. Why do we only have witches in Africa. Why not Europe and America. You see you the reason why Nigeria is a 3rd world country when you inhabit beliefs such as witches and sorcery.

Also for arguments sake if I was to come down to your superstitious level and accept that witches exist, didn't the girl come to the church to be saved. When she knelt down before your silly bishop wasn't that a significance that she was in a quest for deliverance. Oyedepo is not God. It is not certain that Oyedepo will see heaven so who is he to condemn another individual to hell.

If you still believe in witches and evil spirit then you are a foool. Why don't you kill every twin in existence in Nigeria. I mean twins were considered demons before the arrival of Mary slessor and the missionaries.

You going against the very doctrine you quote. Jesus is a man of love. What did the old testament say about LovePeddlers. Why did Jesus embrace Mary madgeline instead of slapping her like your barbaric pastor.

Your brain cells are dead image123. You are a puppet on strings.
And to sagamite, i said "IT SEEMS the girl is silent and CONTENT". Note the words in capital letters and perhaps seek their meaning. I don't think your examples are CONTENT or even silent btw. And consider/context that i was making a comparison to musKeeto(a christian) on the girl's behaviour, and the behaviour musKeeto &friends are clamouring for.
So, to tavon, i sincerely hope that you're not yet a graduate? It'd be sorry if you're as you still have A LOT of learning to do.
Plus, we don't only have witches in Africa, you need exposure, many of you. And the girl did not come for help, she was in hiding until called out. She was defending her position as a witch, not seeking 'deliverance'. You don't understand these things, go and do something profitable with your life.

And so?

That stops slapping her from being wrong?

YOU ARE A MOORON!

Have you thought (I guess hell no should be screamed when this verb is used for you) in your daft head of why she might silent and content?

Because of the hopelessness and powerlessness of the underpriviledged against the rich in Nigeria?

Because of the fact rich, corrupt arsewipes like Ole-depo have beaten and killed the self-esteem of the poor masses to the point they don't know their rights or believe in having rights?

FOOOL, so because poor Nigerian pay police bribe to get loved ones locked up for no reason out of jail and are silent and content when he is released, that makes it OK?

FOOOL, so because Nigerian pensioners pay bribe to be able to get their gratuity and pension entitlements they worked for and are silent and content when it is paid, that makes it OK?

DO YOU STILL WONDER WHY I CALL YOUR KIND CRETINS?
You're being seriously hampered by your poor grasp of the english language, or a misunderstanding of what has been said. I doubt that i've either said it was WRONG or RIGHT to slap the girl. To help you, in summarY what i've said is 'what's exactly is all the noise here about?' And that he(Oyedepo) did not slap her(the self acclaimed witch) because she was poor or female. If you, the rich one goes today to canaanland and tell Oyedepo that you're a witch for Jesus, he'll also slap you, and perhaps add some knocks, headboots and few curses. And you know already what your parents and relatives will do. They'll come begging. So beat it mr.Londoner na only me go skool and abroad.

This should not cause unnecessary rancour every christmas. All things are of God, do you believe that? And then
"One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind." (Romans 14:5).
It's not celebrating christmas or not that makes us acceptable to God. It matters though that we do all things to the glory of God. Let your celebration or mourning(if you choose) glorify God, not man. And don't force your persuasions down others' throats along with sweet chicken. Be safe.
