Last time we spoke, Fabregas recounted how his all-time hero was that great Catalan passer (and nonscorer) Josep Guardiola, and opined: “It’s even better, the assist, than scoring the goal.” He grins. “To be honest, for me an assist, until last year was amazing but now . . . when you score goals . . . let’s just say you get the taste.”

He “must never forget,” he adds, “my real job on the pitch is to pass. It’s not going to be like this all my life. I’m not going to score every week. I wish.

You still "wiping a pig's A@@ with Andrex",you ignorant cunt. grin What has Cesc admiring Pep got to do with anything? huh This guy makes schmucks look like genuises. The guy is as dumb as a 10 year old retard

Guardiola played just in front of the back 4,what Flamini is doing for Gayners,Cesc is in a more advanced position. That Cesc admires Pep is utterly irrelevant to the issue of comparing the 2s scoring prowess.Ronaldo, when he came to England, said,to the consternation of Fergie, that his idol was Henry. . . . .maybe we should now compare their scoring records eventhough they don't play in the same position.

You maybe over 30 but you are an infantile idiotic manchild. grin What about telling us how Beckham admired Bryan Robson and using that as a point in comparing their scoring stats.Maybe you should get your hands out of that pig's ass you been wiping and improve your bovine brain.Typical ignorant Gunner grin

@I-man
for a very long time, Zidane was the highest goal scorer in the French national team, even ahead of David.T and Henry. If Henry now has more goals, its due to the fact the Zidane has left and Henry is now the main man
I stand to be corrected
Exactly the point I was making, that all good attacking midfielders do score goals.Zidane wasn't as prolific as he could be,because he often played in 4-3-3 formation or on the left side of a 4 man midfield, but nevertheless he scored quite a few-31 goals in 108 appearances for France is good for a midfielder.

The other examples the PH ignoramus cited-Riquelme and Guardiola-are odd.Riquelme was always a goal scoring midfielder, just recently at Boca,he scored 10 goals in 24 appearances.Guardiola was a defensive midfielder a la Keane,Deschamps,Petit,Makelele. . . .nobody expects these to score that many.

NOISE!! NOISE!! NOISE!! tongue grin

Fab4 and Ronnie comparisms are a waste of time tongue. Time will tell who takes the glory, after all, despite all Ronnie did last season, Kaka is still in line to take the FIFA player of the year award, so whats the noise about.
See how this man jumps from one issue to the other,he starts by talking about Fabregas vis-a-vis Ronaldo and then ends by introducing Kaka.Ronaldo won awards last season ahead of Fabregas for the domestic league, the verdict of history is already coming in.Is Cesc Kaka ?

I repeat, if Arsenal win either one of these trophies this season; Prem or UCL, Cesc will win the PFA, regardless of what or how many goals Ronnie scores with his backside.
Yes. . .if Everton wins the Premiership,Cahill will win the PFA but since we know that won't happen, just as Arsenal won't win either the Prem or UCL,this unrealistic permutation is pointless.

In typical ignorant Gunners style, you proceed to tell us that Riquelme doesn't score much. When he was at Villareal and at Boca he was scoring-For Boca(38 goals in 151 appearances) and for Villareal(35 goals in 105)

Guardiola was defensive midfielder, just like Flamini or Makelele,so comparing him with Fabregas is pointless.

Zidane scored a quite a few goals for someone who often played on the left of a midfield playing two defensive midfielders. The key thing is that the great attacking midfielders in Fabregas' position always scored goals.Cesc should be no exception.
SportsRe: Who's The World's Best Football Coach? by Iman3(m): 11:19am On Nov 12, 2007
Bundesliga clubs are massively underperforming.I think it has a lot to with a lack of a steady elite within the Bundesliga. Many of the clubs appearing in Europe lack continental experience.Sttutgart lacks Champions League experience and so does Schalke04 to a lesser extent. In some ways, the Bundesliga will benefit in Europe from the development of steady elit of clubs such as we have in England and Italy.Of course that will make the League more boring but it will improve their chances in Europe.

Another problem is that the commercial model in Germany is more egalitarian. The revenue is distributed as widely as possible and ticket prices are quite low. This restricts the economic opportunities for clubs to compete with their peers in Europe.

With regards to Adriano,I think the loss of his dad was too much for him.He developed a drinking problem after that and hasn't coped well with his dad's loss.It is said that the reason why is that he is emotionally childish ,hence the inability to cope with loss.It has to do with his psychologically make up.I think with professional help,he will get back to his old form.I don't see him moving to AC Milan,a move out Italy is probably on the cards.

Blame the Turks for what?

They are learning from the US and Israel that waged war against nations simply because terrorists came from those nations according to them.

What is goose they say is also good for the gander.

The chicken is surely coming home to roost,
So if Turkey threatens to invade another nation,it is the US and Israel's fault for "teaching" them? Never mind that Turkey has been making military incursions into Northern Iraq since the 90s and once threatened to invade Syria, mobilising troops at the border, merely because Syria harboured Abdullah Ocalan. . . . .but I guess that is Israel/US fault since they "learnt" from them.

I just saw this funny comment in the Guardian grin

Is it a pure coincidence that ARSENal, ARSENe and ARSENic are the words with a common root?

We know a lot about the former two, but what's about ARSENic, a highly poisonous metallic element which compounds are used in insecticides, weed killers, solid-state doping agents, and various alloys?

Elemental arsenic and arsenic compounds are classified as "toxic" and "dangerous for the environment" in the European Union under directive 67/548/EEC.

BusinessRe: The Naira Is Gaining Back Its Value? by Iman3(m): 5:55pm On Nov 10, 2007
@Doyin

You are right.China's fixed currency rates has been partly responsible for this problem, for where market forces are allowed free reign,a strengthening of China's currency would have helped matters. Many other "Asian Tigers" ,short of fixing currency rates, also manipulate their currency to keep their value low.

In the 80s,when there was a similar problem, there was an accord entered into between the US and countries like Japan which co-ordinated decisions that helped manage the dollar's fall.

Today, there will be pressure for the ECB to cut interest rates if the dollar keeps falling at Europe's expense. In the last trade figures given,US trade deficits with other major trading regions fell except China. While the deficit with the EU fell 37%,that with China rose 5.5%-http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5jokcLCqwnflI9lZyie2Hf-m5lqVA
BusinessRe: The Naira Is Gaining Back Its Value? by Iman3(m): 4:52pm On Nov 10, 2007
Seun:
In a nutshell, President GW Bush and his expensive war.
The dollar's fall is due to huge current account deficits which has 2 causes-trade deficits and budget deficits.Bush is responsible for the latter and not the former. The trade deficit for August(latest 12 months) was $810.7bn.Budget deficits was in the region of $150bn.Obviously,in a $13.9 trillion economy, its easy to see why an Iraq war, costing about $100 bn per annum, can't be cited as a reason for dollar depreciation.

In recent months, the dollar's depreciation has been propelled by a slowdown in the US economy. This has prompted interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve which prompts further depreciation.

At the moment, the dollar's fall is good for the economy since it makes US exports cheaper and imports more expensive. If you look back 10 years ago,the dollar's strenght was the cause of concern for US policy officials. The current account deficits accelerated, prompted by cheap imports, in the 90s until it became unbearable recently. So,falling dollar value is good for the US economy provided the fall is not too steep as to precipitate inflation in the US.

For Nigeria, the key concern is diversifying our foreign exchange reserves from dollar denominated reserves into Euros and other viable currencies.Leaving our reserves in dollars means that it is losing value with time.

You actually think i will play that silly game huh

Listen whether you dig Wenger or not, makes no difference to Arsenal supporters, granted a few would want some English men to come through the ranks, but believe me, WINNING TROPHIES IS OUR PRIORITY RIGHT NOW!! Not some flipping obsession with the English national team.
Winning trophies is Gunners priority? huh That's why you have won a hat full over the last 2 seasons tongue

The reality is that there is a paucity of English talents coming through the ranks. Many academy coaches have noted it.This is not about foreigners blocking the route to success for English players. If we insist on playing a certain amount of English players, all we will have is an increase in the quantity of English players plying their trade in the top level, without an increase in the quality. The reality is,the quality of the League will diminish. Its quite common-sensical,if you have the entire world as a source of your footballing talents, the chances of finding quality players is higher than if you limit yourself to just the domestic pool. The competition for places with foreigners improves the quality of the local lads.

The fact is,back in the early 90s when the League was dominated by local players, the quality was appalling, ditto the national team. That was when England failed to qualify for USA 94.English teams in the continental stage were just as mediocre.

A manager of club's primary responsibility is the club's interest-winning trophies-whether this is done with a team of England players or Congolese pygmies is irrelevant.Of 191 countries in the world,a manager is better served looking for talents in all countries than seeking to limit himself to just one country.

A number of Premiership managers have sought to favor local players.Remember O'Leary's Leeds Utd?How many trophies did they win?Instead, their preference for English players was costly-quite literally from a financial perpective.A team of Woodgate,Ferdinand,Wilcox,M.Bridges,Danny Mills,A.Smith,Lee Bowyer,e.t.c won nothing when compared to the foreign legion in Man Utd and Arsenal. The best player in that team was Harry Kewell(an Aussie)Eventually, O'Leary was sacked.

John Gregory tried same with Villa,he used to boast about the fact that his team often featured 11 English players in their starting line up,but where did that get him? Only Gareth Barry has survived from that team, players like Julian Joachim,Lee Hendrie and Alan Thompson never really set the League on fire.Pragmatism, not hallowed ideas about nationalism,is what dominates the approach of any sensible club

Free education alarm!!! Afam, sorry o. I need to help my fellow Nigerians who went to night school at Okokomaiko  grin

A paradox is an apparently true statement or group of statements that leads to a contradiction or a situation which defies intuition. Typically, either the statements in question do not really imply the contradiction, the puzzling result is not really a contradiction, or the premises themselves are not all really true or cannot all be true together. The word paradox is often used interchangeably with contradiction. - Wikipedia
