what products are produced in St Vincent and Grenadines that their dollar is 2.10 to the US$?
Debo,no mind dat girl grin, the currency is pegged,I think at 2.70 to the US$. . . . . .so it doesn't really reflect the actual rate.Having said that, their exports of merchandise totalled $40 mill, services $155 mill(2005) ,which for a population of 119,000 is the equivalent of Nigeria's exports totaling at least $200 bn.

An export driven economy is absolutely essential to maintaining a resilient currency. With good economic growth, which brings confidence in the local economy and good foreign investment, you have the ingredients for a steady currency rate.

What policy makers are looking for is not how to drive down the rates to where it was in the 70s-1 Naira to a $1-that will be counter-productive,they are simply looking for a steadying of the rates. We don't want the free fall we experienced under IBB but we also don't want a rapid appreciation in value of the Naira.Countries like Japan and China try to stop such an appreciation to maintain their export competitiveness

The players you are raving about in the EPL like Hleb, Rosicky, berbatov, Hargreaves e.t.c all played in the Bundesliga how come the quality of the players are poor?
Hleb,Rosicky and Berbatov are not even the most outstanding performers in the EPL nor do they represent the average Bundesliga player.Calling specific names this way is like naming the likes of Aguerro,Riquelme,Milito,Gago and Forlan as proof that the Argentina League is as good as La Liga. . . . .there is a good reason the Bundesliga has only 3 representatives at Champions League.

Altintop, Schweinsteiger and Lucio ? what do you mean!! Try and Bring Flamini, Adebayor, Clichy, Sagna, who are regular starters in the top team in the EPL to
You are calling names in the position Bayern are strong-What about in central defence were Bayern have Van Buyten,Lucio and De Michellis-?Its a measure of how strong the EPL is,that stronger squads like that of Chelski,Liverpool or Utd are not topping the table. In the Bundesliga, these teams will be favorites.

dayokanu:
Germany was 3rd at the world cup using largely players in the Bundesliga and England crashed out earlier using players from the EPL mainly.
That tells us more about the quality of English players compared to German players,it doesn't tell us about the quality of the 2 leagues

the African heads of State who attended are far more important - Mbeki, Kuffuor, Gbabo and Zenawi were there. . .more than good enough.
Gbabo "runs" half of a war torn country,Zenawi is the dictator of a famine ridden country,Kuffuor is President of a country whose economy is 1/8th of ours, only Mbeki could be described as important, but only just. The rest have little or no trading links with Nigeria

Being interested in the US is not inherently bad, people have interests in subjects they have no stake in-sports,history,TV entertainment,e.t.c.If we were to restrict our interests to things we had a stake in,life will be incredibly dull.

What grates with me is the shocking lack of perspective.People discuss these events with a fervor that lacks any sense of context.Big B1,who defends IBB,is always up in arms about any malfeasance in the US political circles.Afam, who thinks OBJ was a good President,is a rabid Bush hater and virulently anti-American.Tornadoz thinks Israel is the worst nation on earth, worse than Sudan,N.Korea,DRC Congo,e.t.c.

My view is,if you are going to be up in arms about NSA wiretapping, maybe the assasination of Dele Giwa might move you to dislike IBB.If you think Haditha undermines US moral credibility, then how come you are seemingly unmoved by the Odi massacres and still think OBJ was a good President?

Bayern have been poor in recent games. They had 2 0-0 draws against Frankfurt and Dortmund, so the Bolton result was hardly surprising. They followed it up by losing to Sttutgat-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByIZk3fhmm8

Hitzfeld was criticized by Rummenige for his rotation policy which saw him replacing Riberry and Podolski in the middle of the Bolton game. The Bundesliga is enjoyable to watch but the quality of the players are generally poor. When you think of some of the players at Bayern, supposedly the best club in the League-Alintop,Van Buyten,Schweinsteiger and the useless Lucio-its no surprise they are struggling

Debosky doesn't belong to that group of Gunners who think that Wenger's fecal matter smells like a Clive Christian fragrance ,he probably thinks it smells like Razorr's undies which is hero-worshipping on a grand scale but not on the scale of the formergradually turning the quality of the thread to an even lower ebb

I agree with what Fergie said about this Utd squad being the best he has seen. The team is oozing with quality, from defence to midfield to attack. . . . .the great thing is that new players, like Anderson,Nani and Pique, who I thought might take sometime to have an impact are maturing quicker than expected.I was half expecting one of them to go on loan but they are strongly pushing for a first team place.

The attack remains a weak link, due to injury worries, but its better than last season.

Home truths hurt, whether those truths concern our person or our nation,as long as its delivered by someone else.

We are not prepared to host tourneys like the Commonwealth games. This gross misplacement of priorities must stop.I heard we spent about $300 million on the All Africa Games, think of what that amount could deliver in infrastructural development.

The bid itself is a waste of money partly because our chances of winning are puny and because they offer an opportunity for unscrupulous politicians to enrich themselves. Was there a better symbolism of Nigeria's dysfunctional state than Gen. Gowon's role as leader of our delegation
Foreign AffairsRe: Why isn't Bush Impeached as yet? by Iman3(m): 6:16pm On Nov 12, 2007
Big B1:
This is what I think:

It is obvious that Bush's opponent refuses to impeach Bush not because he's unimpeachable, but simply to protect the image and future of United States.
Impeaching Bush at this point has enormous punitive damages than being advantageous to the image of America to the outsiders (who also crave for her downfall).
This is also why leadership standard in United States is untouchable. The oppositions are not only thinking about selves or today; they are more concerned about the future of the great image of the United States of America. And they clearly understand that carrying out an impeachment process for President Bush could result into a major impractical collapse of the great country.

If Bush gets impeached successfully:
It will also give a solid premise to successfully try president Bush for War crime.
American president being considered or tried for war crime will send a wrong message, which will further capacitate the stamina of the enemies.

I truly believe that this is the main reason why Bush must be left alone to finish his despicable and disreputable term.
The simple answer is that are no grounds for impeachment.Given the modern fad to hate Bush, just look at this thread, impeaching Bush would "improve America's image".

Loyika - I totally agree. I watched the Sunderland/ Newcastle game this weekend, and I tell you, Kenwyn Jones is as tall as Ade, runs quite fast, and has one hell of a hot shot. He's also extremely physical, and is possesed of a killer header. He'll definitely jump at the idea of crossing over to Arsenal (and it'll be sweet to steal a player from Keano).

There's also Anelka, not so young, still very fast, and clinically accurate with his shots on goal. I actually rate Anelka well beyond Torres, but that may be erronous.
If you are looking for a striker, try Karim Benzema of Lyon.Kenwyn Jones will be a waste of money, you are not going to get him for less than £9 million and he is definitely not a quality player

That intelligence is false is not an impeachable offence. If it was,Clinton committed an impeachable offence by relying on that same intelligence to tell us that Iraq had WMDs and were collaborating with Al Qaeda.Which brings us back to square one,as the Democrats would not impeach Bush for saying in effect what his predecessor was saying

@I-man Clinton lied under oath my ass. What credibility does Bush has in invading IRAQ?

Was the war not perpetuated by deception?

What part of the world do you live in. This administration is watching people loosing their houses to foreclosure and nothing has been done. The forclosure rate is over 2 Million people have been defrauded with Mortgage scam.

This administration can't rebuild New Orleans and yet we are wasting innocent soldiers life in IRAQ and Afghanistan.

I just Wish the democrats have some balls and do what they were elected to do. BUSH and Chaney should have been impeached long before now.
All the things you mentioned, foreclosure,New Orleans, the war in Iraq, are not impeachable offences. Was the war not perpetuated by deception?Absolutely not.If it was,Democrats would have started impeachment proceedings.Bush has approval rating in the 30s,what do Democrats stand to lose if they start impeachment proceedings if they have grounds for impeachment?

Nothing. . . .they can't start impeachment proceedings, because people who are smarter and more knowledgeable than you know that you can't start proceedings when the proceedings will expose the whole"Bush lied, people died" meme as misleading.

Bush lied that there were WMDs in Iraq?,when Clinton was in office,he justified the sanctions on Iraq(which cost 1 million lives) on the basis of Iraq's collaboration with Al-Qaeda and its possesion of WMDs. . . . .so if Bush was lying, what was Clinton doing?Having intercourse with the facts? The guy even came down to the UK then,to tell us that if he was still President,he would have invaded Iraq. . . . .if Democrats seek to impeach Bush for something they were asserting to be true-that Saddam had WMDs-then it will boomerang on them. They are smarter than that and they know what they are doing.

I heard Rooney is insisting that goal was his . . . . .He made the runs . . .made the moves and got to the ball first.
Anyways . . . . . .The season is too early to be saying Ronaldo has not been performing.
He has played less games in the Prem . . . . . . He has a better goal ratio . . . .more shots on goal . . . . . and he offers something extra.
RONALDO is a gem.
Ronaldo had no assist before the games at the Emirates. . . . .more importantly,he had few if any crosses.I will try and find the source of the stats.Officially.Ronaldo hasn't had any assists this season in the league while Cesc has clocked 6 assists.

Ronaldo's game has changed a bit.Maybe its all for the better but if he is playing a more central role, then comparing him to Fabregas is pointless. In the game against Boro,he spent as much time with centre-forward position as Rooney and more than Tevez. . . . .of course he will have more shots on goal if that is how he is intepreting his responsibility. . . .he started his career as a striker at S,Lisbon.

I think he is far more likely to win the PFA award but the fact remains he is not playing as he was last season. There is still along way to go in the season though.

Why do u guys think one arsenal's fan opinion stands for every Gunner in the whole world?? huh huh, I am not going to be drawn into any arguement comparing Cesc to Ronaldo.(It's futile)
You made a statement about motivation and just wanted u to know that his(Aragones) own method of motivation isn't acceptable in a civilised world and also my comment about why anyone should take him seriously was: how did he think he could motivate Reyes by telling him he's better than Henry.huh huh huh, Lol, 'It's like trying to make a bicycle overtake a porshe' huh, Reyes and Henry were never in the same class. cool
If a highly respected manager(Aragones used to be highly respected) is telling you that you are better than one of the best footballers on the planet, that can be a motivating factor for a youngster,Reyes was about 21 or 22 at the time. You forget how good he used to be for Sevilla. . . .that's why Wenger(the genius talent spotter)negotiated a £17 million deal for him, which technically means Wenger rated him quite highly.

Obviously,he didn't turn out such a good player,he still can,he is only 24,but then it wasn't far fetched to think of him as a better talent,at least, than Henry. If you remember him at La Liga, you will know why such an opinion could be expressed by Aragones.Henry is not as highly rated as many Gunners think anyway
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Iman3(m): 4:15pm On Nov 12, 2007
@Jackal &Jeje(darkness and light, not in any particular order) grin

If you take the season as a whole,Fabregas has done better. His all round contribution,in assists and goals are better than Ronaldo's inspite of Ronaldo being quite prolific.

As much as Ronaldo has been prolific this season,he has been playing almost virtually as a centre-forward sometimes.I saw a stat before the game at the Emirates,he had no single assist and produced few if any crosses. That is because he often abandons his position on the flanks in chase of glory.

Overall,I think Ronnie is a far better player but for this season,Cesc still edges it.Ronaldo's prolificness obscures the fact that his all round contribution is not as good as last season.I still think he is far more likely to win the PFA award than Cesc, for one thing,Utd are more likely to win the League and Arsenal have no chance, and utimately Ronaldo is a better footballer even if he is not pragmatic at the moment.

Honestly, comparing the two is pointless since they are really different types of players. Its a bit like comparing Giggs and Scholes.

So your problem with Aragones' comment is that it was racist and derogatory. . . .which leaves the f*ckin question, what does this have to do with him rating Iniesta,Xavi and Alonso ahead of Cesc?

I thought Gayners were questioning Aragones' credibility as a coach. If you are questioning his racial tolerance ,that has nothing to do with Cesc who is not black
