I saw the pics at purefoto.com. They were wonderful.


However, they should have at least matched the very lovely pictures with their appropriate names. This would have added more value to the pictures.

I noticed as well in nigerian tabloids, names are hardly matched to pictures and one is left guessing who is who

While Lagos Mainland can be an eyesore sometimes, The Island is still a nice part of the city. The main problem with Lagos is overpopulation.

I think the pictures are quite a positive representation of Lagos Island.

I am tired of the constant negative portrayal of Africa by the western media. Anytime i am on the BBC reading something about Nigeria, the images i see are really so negative and it makes me very angry. Sometimes, it is hard to believe it was the same Lagos i grew up in that they are representing like that. I have NEVER seen any nice pictures of Lagos on the BBC. They always portray nigerians as poor, suffering and helpless people. Is that the image you want?

It is up to we Africans to portray our continent in a positive light rather than accept what others especially the western media think of us.

The poster was not the one in need of a nigerian passport and a phone rather a relative of his.

Because he lives abroad does not mean the people back home should charge ridiculous amounts for items purchased. If he decides to give generously, then it should come from within him. Nobody likes to be taken as a fool.

I support his attempt to challenge the lying relatives. If they needed extra money, all they had to do was ask. Some relatives in Ngeria need to understand that life is not that easy abroad.

I believe Nigerian men can cook but for some reason best known to them, they either think it is beneath them or they are just too lazy to cook. Men should actually be careful where they eat and whose food they eat. A word is enough for the wise.

Actually, I never intentionally kept my Ex's pics. I thought I had discarded them but my detective wife fished out a couple of them from nowhere. Would I cheat on my wife just because I met my Ex ? Thats Hypothetical.

DIVORCE is tricky and not very plesant especially if there are children involved. If you are yet to have children, separating is easier but with children, it is not easy. Today's society is really broken with the loss of family values.

If she is threatening divorce, there must be something that triggered it. She may be having second thoughts, or simply feel she has has lost you emotionally. It is possible to be physically together but miles apart emotionally.

Why dont you two maybe go on a holiday and work at your marriage. Date yourselves again and relive happy memories and just talk to each other and be vunerable to each other again. You must have been in love once so it should be too hard.

i just don't get why married people still keep pictures of their exes, i mean why did you marry me if your going to be thinking of your ex, thats just stupid, i don't blame your wife you shouldn't be thinking of your ex let alone getting in tough with her and talking about the past, if you guys get together you might end up cheatin on your spouses, which just complicates things.

i personally think if you guys were meant to be together you would be, but life sucks and you ended up with different people so give them the respect they deserve, you wouldn't marry your wife if the love you had with your ex was strong enough to go through anything. this is no mistake you both would have been together if the love you had was strong, i would go against my parents wishes if i knew the guy i love was the guy i wanted to spend the rest of my life with, and there is always court marriage, everything doesn't have to be church wedding.

i just think what you and your ex are going through now if just infatuation, you both obviously have missed each other, so you bring up the good times and then think things would have worked out, but it didn't go get it into your brain, stick with your wife and let your ex be with her husband, you both have made your decision so live with it.

I hope parents realise the trauma they subject their children to when it comes to the issue of spouse. The best person that can choose a patner for you is you. All this tribal prejudice nonsense must stop. If people want to out of village/town/ state etc, let them be as long as they are happy.

My father almost made the same mistake as my grandma insisted he married some lady from our village. The lady in question was very disrespectful to my dad then, well, he was as poor as a mosque rat . Anyway, he got enough courage to stand up to her and told her that he would marry his choice and if she wanted to 'kick the bucket' she was free to do so . That ended that! He has been married to his choice for 25yrs.

However, it is sometimes very hard for a lady to stand up to her parents . Some parents are very unforgiving and may pronounce curses on thier children so they end up living miserable lives

They are not too holy to listen to secular music, of course as long as it is not songs containing profanities.

The coins look like the £2 coins used in the UK.

While it is true there are over 250 languages, there are only 3 main widely recognised lanuguages and the other languages may have thier roots from the main ones. Maybe the Government should start considering making all future currency in the official language which is English. Until then, one group will always complain of being left out.

Thanks to the starter of the thread . The pictures posted are really nice. However, i was in Lagos last summer and only saw a few clean places which happen to be on the Island . I wish the Mainland would be half as clean as the pictures shown.

If anyone has any suggestions or better songs please let me know, these were what i could find from my list of songs. The suggested songs can be preferably in any local dialect apart from pidgin English, and also not too loud.

I think everyone is entitled to their preference. Some people like horror, some like Chinese, French, Spanish, Hollywood or even Nollywood . I like bollywood, watched them when i was a lot younger. It is okay if you cant stand bollywood. No one in my family can too, but that doesnt stop me from watching.

Bath is in the south west of the UK, on the way to Bristol. Looks like you folk in London dont travel much . University of Bath is a nice university, having previously graduated from Manchester. It is multicultural to an extent, lots of Chinese around. Most are friendly anyway and there is an Afro-Carribean societyif you are so inclined. Bath is a beutiful place with lots of attractions but expensive.
