Dis Guy:Well, if you live peacefully and obey the law, i guess no one will bother you. But then, i know so many people stuck in the UK because they overstayed and cant even go back to Nigeria since they wont be coming back. Any action that will place my freedom at risk, i am not bold enough to carry it through. I cant be sleeping with one eye closed. |
totalfact:She can always look for another job after resigning the 'threatening' one. ![]() |
Dis Guy:Of course not, my brother ![]() Please come if you must, but do it legally to save yourself any future hassle. For me, i am looking forward to when i will officially be back in Naija for good. ![]() |
1. Queen 2. Bon Jovi 3. Green Day will post more later |
9ja4eva:Yeah, it is a very nice site, but after a while you get used to all the songs. They don't upload new songs regularly. That's my only criticism. |
Mustay:Source please? |
@poster, Please take your time before you move in together with him. I know at some stage, if the relationship is still serious someone has to compromise on location. But you guys really to redefine your relationship and then you can make further plans. Please, dont just accept what people tell you, wheather it a relative or not. Things are not always what they seem at first. Goodluck with your decision. |
Omolulu:Actually, Lagos is not that bad, as long as you can provide your own 'local government' , that is generate your own electricity, water and provide your own security, other than that, you are ok. The rate of crime is high but not the highest in the world, and also linked to geographical areas. In Lagos, it is possible to live larger than life, and in that same Lagos, you see people in abject poverty. It is a matter of circumstance. |
Funny enough, with all my limited travel to places like some parts of Europe and America, i have never been stressed over my nigerian passport. I only get annoyed i have to queue up so long at the immigration. Other than that, i have been ok, well, maybe it is because i am female ![]() |
PapaBrowne:Are you serious? As a travel agent, you should be aware of the negative reputation Nigeria and Nigerians have in other parts of the world. Encouraging people to vanish to other parts of Europe will only create a situation whereby future geniune applicants will be denied visas in the future. Note to all interested, Please think well, before launching to places in Eastern Europe, while the countries and infrastructure are nice, the same cannot be said of most residents attitude towards black people. |
I actually think we need a new manager at some point, sooner rather than later, someone that is fierce and wants to win badly. Yes, people say Fergie and Mourinho are arrogant but they are also passionate about winning, while Wenger can been seen as the 'cool' one, ![]() We need a winning mentality throughout the squad. For some reason, we seem to always fall short in the big games. We dont seem to have the kind of self belief teams like Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea have. Sometimes, these teams still win, even if they are playing badly. Niceness and just playing beautiful football doesn't win anyone any trophies. In all words, we need to graduate from local champions and announce ourselves on the international stage. Like Chelsea (not thier manager), we can't be said to be a truly big club if we havent won the champion's league. We were so close, yet so far last year. The stage and scene was set for us to make history , but as i have come to realise with Arsenal, we have no staying power, and if we are leading 1-0, pray we score soon because before long, we would be pegged back and may even lose the match. It is time Wenger stopped being too economical, afterall, Chelsea and Man Utd have spent big money in order to win the league, even Liverpool paid big money for some players. With all the home grown talents and academies we have at the club, how many have come through? Even Ashley Cole, the last standing english guy that came through the youth academies obviously stopped believing in the club and Chelsea could offer higher wages. To win big things, we must spend big money. There is no point having a wonderful stadium devoid of trophies!!! |
mrmayor: ![]() Dont worry, there are not too many people involved in sex change, [s]well, that is if you are nigerian and want/have a nigerian wife[/s]. |
you can try www.krazienaija.com |
I agree with some most of Blackmamba's posts, apart from the name calling. @poster, Why would you agree to marry you have not even met? At least get to know him first before aggree to marry. Men are not trophies, definately not nigerian men, While you met through a friend of his, what if this is a set-up and you are being used to help the guy get a visa to america? Please thread carefully. You are the one that would move to Nigeria, a place you are not familiar with. In terms of security, as long as you stay with someone you know, you should be fine. I know love can be blind but not at the expense of your senses!!! |
Because rejection hurts? ![]() Some people find it harder than others to deal with thier emotions. |
just me:No romance at all? ![]() |
Mariory:Exactly!!! People should stop bible bashing and be realistic. I dont know how someone can confidently talk about change from the comfort of London. |
ayeesha:Lol, to sit at home, watch plates, cook, make the bed, do the house decorations, look after the kids and all the other duties that people tend to use as excuses. I wonder when some people will realise that being staying at home means and being organised does not mean being productive mentally. |
laudate:I am ok , thanks. Been so busy for the past 4 weeks which has been incredible. I have some breathing space now, just. would still like a chat or two sometime, except you dont chat to nairalanders, some of who are becoming troublesome of late. laudate:Putting in more hours is not an issue. The problem is the double standards of some of our men. While they want to be supported and understood if they need to put in the hours to be successful, some of them refuse to do likewise for thier wives and start complaining of them being outside too much.

|
I guess desperate times call for desperate measures. ![]() |
@ poster, Not everyone takes well to criticisms. Maybe your boyfriend was insensitive about the way he approached the issue. Sometimes, it is not what you say but how you say it that matters. If he really means it, then you should give it a thought. |
babyosisi:Common babyosisi, where they groping themselves that bad? There is nothing wrong in showing some affection in parts of the world where it is not frowned upon. Like you mentioned earlier, it is looked at as lack of decency in Nigeria and give some jobless people opportunity to talk. Do you kiss your husband at all in public in America?, it is allowed u know except you are both on the conservative side, which is fair enough. |
Nice pictures of the old city. @dblock. I hope i remember to take some pictures when i visit Ibadan later this summer. There is a tall building that can be seen when you enter the city, that is coming from Lagos/Ibadan expressway way, is that cocoahouse? I used to think it was the tall building in front of UI. |
Hello laudate, i was beginning to think you only reside on the tribalism thread ![]() @Topic, While some men may be insecure or just want to feel proud about being responsible for the maintenance of thier home, sometimes, it may be necessary for a woman to take some time off work for family reasons. As a graduate, i will work and thereafter have my own business at some point. [s]not some corner shop outside the house run by the 'housegirl[/s]. Like a friend of mine says, what is the point of a lady having all these degrees if you are only going to be the houselady. I am not mocking those who choose to be housewives. But the keyword is choice. |
I think it is disgusting. The other day, i saw a married woman in church, with her thong sticking out. It was quite offensive. Someone had to tell her before she went to adjust herseif in the restroom. If you must wear a tong, the rest of us dont need to know. |
I have seen Spiderman 3, while it was intesting, i didnt think it was that special. [s]Maybe it is because i havent been a fan of Spiderman series[/s], for some reason, i seem to prefer other trilogies such as the matrix and x-men. |
The way the voting is going, Temitayo might just be part of the final two which will be undeserved. While she is not that bad, her voice isnt strong or unique enough to have made it this far. I hope Timi and Omawumi, who have actual talent, get the support they need this weekend. [s]I think it is a bit cruel to ask a fellow contestant annouce who is safe and not safe.[/s] |
VOR:Dont worry VOR, ![]() I am sure the venue can take all of us ![]() |
LondonCool:Hello LondoonCool, Longest time ![]() I hope i get a chance to go for the festival if only to meet a few nairalanders, ![]() |
beanca:The thread is about Super story. However, you can watch lots of nigerian films on www.onlinenigeria.com. You need to scroll down to find games women play. There are lots of films on that site. You do have to register to watch some movies. It is free though. Goodluck |
