Forget the story politicians tell you. There is nothing like subsidy, it is just fuel price hike that goes into private pucket. Why has his presence in the cement industry not greatly reduce the price of locally produced cement. The government will only increase the price and called it subsidy removal & he as a businessman would continue on that pace and of course remit some percentage back stage. Nigeria is a smokescreen.

Exactly, I always say to be very careful with people that forgive very easily & ignore offenses. It doesn't mean they are weak hearted. They are simply giving their conscience a good reason for their future action. So when they draw the line, it will take only God to speak to them directly before such decision can be reversed.

I need not debate that further. Thank God the country still has you. You can decide to remain. Funny enough your kinds are only concerned because you haven't gotten the opportunity yet and it looks like many are leaving you behind. I know a pastor who wasn't doing that bad, he believed & ask for prayers for Nigeria. Discouraging people from leaving. He finally fled with his family last year. As for the young boy, he will be encouraged to move and others willing to do so legally. He is obviously an intelligent boy, thus knows what to do. No matter how hopeful & familiar you are of the country. You don't know more than the president, governors, politicians generally. Yet those guys built their based abroad. Imagine a president doing medical tourism, going for relaxation, using foreign education for the kids, etc. You think you should believe in the country more than them.

That can never happen when you have something to offer. Secondly, the boy can either decide to stay back and be totally useless to the country and to an extent to himself or move and be very productive to the US first, and to humanity in general. Nigeria is not yet structured to succeed, no until the country has a foundation. Nothing will work.

I agree with you partially but there is a reason retirement age for civil servants were pegged at 60 years, despite the less activeness in their job schedule compare to the office of the president. Particularly Nigeria that doesn't have a structured, where the president does the work of LGA, State & fg combined. Age, education, personal achievement, etc should be a factor until the country is structured to work. If the country can't move forward at least it shouldn't move backward. Those old men want to use it as retirement home at least to foot their medical bills. We should vote fresh blood to encourage technocrats to come on board. Not Yeye Bello kinds.
