Not as easy as you see it. He may have been in a post where he won't know that others have fled or perhaps initially sent on an errand. It could even be that he was taking cover like his colleagues during the fire, only to be left alone thereafter. There might also be others possibly wondering alone like him. Some of his guys could have been killed or abducted. Running won't solve his problem when everywhere is on red alert. Is either he steps on land. . . Or run into the enemy's camp directly. From his voice you would see that he is already frightened to death. Truth is, he thinks he is fighting for Nigeria. Unknowingly that he is fighting so the big boys can keep getting fat. We were actually using the cleaners salary to compare it's counterpart from Africa base on its expenditures.

What!!! What did I just read at bolded. That's like comparing a domestic cat and a tiger. You should be comparing a bank manager in Nigeria with a cleaner abroad, etc. In terms of quality of life generally. There is a reason house chores are shared among couples abroad, it isn't because they wouldn't want a house keeper. It's simply because it requires a minimum wage per hour to keep one. Trust me, the domestic staff will equally be able to own a car and a good life. That is obviously a country where things work. Not in Africa where you will be employed as a gate keeper for #10k a month, yet you will end up doing car washing, security, compound maintenance, general duty, etc.

LGA is like the family unit. When the home is happy & safe, the society will reflect same & it will be extended to the entire nation by default. Sadly, the same old greedy politicians won't allow that because it will mean that they can't keep feeding their greedy freely without any tangible responsibility. For me, I have washed my hands off Nigeria ever getting better.
