You do realize that the 2010 prado only just came out a couple of months ago?
PoliticsRe: Fashola Plans N60 Billion Alternative To Ikorodu Road by indie22(f): 9:57pm On May 25, 2010
I totally understand where you're coming from and I'm all for the road expansion (even if its only being expanded for one lane on each side), but my concern is the 3 toll booths, lekki epe expressway is not even as long as the lagos ibadan exp way, its predominantly residential and will prolly still not be traffic free as the expansion is only by a lane on each side. How do you then justify three toll booths on that road. If I live in surulere and work in pan african university, should I have to drive past 3 booths on dsame road before getting to my destination? Also, why has no alternative road being constructed to at least give pple an option.? Even lekki residents are kicking against, 1 poll booth is enough to generate the revenue they need, 2 booths we can live with, but 3? Haba! That's a bit unnecessary

My dear this is a 50km long road. . .do u know how long 50kms is?
u can blow at top speed of 50km/hr and it will still take u close to an hour to traverse the whole length
Lekki is not just a residential area, its commercial and has many companies, hotels, oil companies and banks opening up in that axis

also if u have any sense
u will know that not everyone will be affected by the 3 tolls
as u may just need to pass one toll to reach your house
Excuse me? please look at the bolded, im not on nairaland to exchange insults ok, pls get that

I live before just b4 chevron but go to vgc  practically everyday (if you know lekki at all, ull know that i would have to go past and pay at 2 of the 3 tolls, people that live as far as crown estate or close to the pan african university and work on the mainland will have to go past the three toll gates. and the same goes for people visiting them, now tell me since you are very sensible, just how they can beat going past the three tolls?
PoliticsRe: Fashola Plans N60 Billion Alternative To Ikorodu Road by indie22(f): 5:37pm On May 25, 2010
For crying out loud, no one is saying " do not toll the lekki epe expressway", but why three tolls in an area that is predominantly residential? Or is it because pple in lekki are seen to be well off and comfortable and will pay regardless,

And as for saying "people living in lekki can afford to pay whatever the toll is, well not everyone living in lekki is a millionaire, trust me there are still some parts of lekki/ ajah that have face-me-i-face-us and are worse than okokomaiko!

It seems as if people think lekki and automatically think phase 1, femi okunnu, vgc and northern foreshore (chevron estate), forgetting that there's not so posh areas in lekki and ajah and they are also affected by the toll points.

Is there any price difference between the 2009 and 2010 models? What is the difference?
The 09 cerato (currently not being sold anymore) was 2.690m naira, while the 2010 model is currently being sold for 2.920m naira, price is inclusive of VAT.

@indie22
Whats the difference between the KIA CERATO 2009 and 2010, if any. Is the 2.9m inclusive of VAT?. Thanks
Its just a bit here and there, the 2010 kia cerato comes with outside mirror feature embedded side repeaters (side trafficators are they are populaly known), electro chromic mirror (the rear view mirror can sense and adjust to light), centre console chrome rimmed knobs, everything else is the same and yes the price comes inclusive of VAT.

If you like petition nepa from now till kingdom come and if you like go and fire bomb their office, they won't do it until they're good and ready

Funny thing tho and for all you know your request for a new transformer might have been processed and is just sitting on one fat cat oga's desk in nepa awaiting approval, and we know what happens in most government parastatals, nothing will happen until "egunje" is paid!

So my advise to you, better go and buy one "I better pass my neighbour" and forget about nepa for the time being.

It happened to us in lekki, no electricity for almost 3mnths, after the residents contributed money for a new transformer we still had to grease oga nepa's palm before they restored light!
PoliticsRe: Don't Honour Invitations, Muslim Group Tells Yarima by indie22(f): 1:33am On May 24, 2010
Its shameful and indeed appalling, but sadly its a common thing in the north, I can't come to terms wiv how a 50 plus old man would even find a 13yr old attractive (beautiful egyptian or not), it just stinks of pedophillia and sexual deviance. Poor girl pulled out of school and thrust into the arms of a filthy old man to be his wife and bear him children at the end of the day she gets pregnant and develops VVF while having the baby, then what? Slimy and filthy senator phucking yerima exchanges her for a newer model after she's damaged goods as she can no more control her urine flow and stinks?

This is just so wrong on many levels, I pity the poor girl and I blame her parents for allowing greed take importance over their daughter's welfare!
PoliticsRe: IBB's Acheivements? by indie22(f): 12:49am On May 24, 2010
And while nigeria was witnessing the "best time of infrastuctural development" babangida was busy siphoning funds and creating the gradual decline and moral decay we find ourselves in today, cocaine peddlers were left to have a field day, scapegoats were made of certain pple to cover up ibb and maryam's involvement in the cocaine filthiness, pple were getting killed for threatening to expose them, advance fee fraud was rampant, nigerians had to start queueing to visa applications and the common man? Life gradually started becoming harder, its as a result of babangida's 8 yrs in power that we are in the mess we find ourselves now

Rather than hang his head in shame for all the atrocities he's committed he wants to come back and rule again, obj (who is equally evil) said it all, "what did ibb forget in aso rock that he wants to go back to collect"?

Pls seriously, this man has insulted our intelligence enough, even his comment about the nigerian youths was a huge insult, the man seriously needs to respect himself and go crawl under a rock

Eko o ni baje o!

But seriously, something needs to be done about lekki and its many toll points
PoliticsRe: Fashola Plans N60 Billion Alternative To Ikorodu Road by indie22(f): 8:47pm On May 23, 2010
The length of the road shouldn't be a factor, lekkis epe expressway is not like the lagos ibadan express way, lekki is predominantly a residential area, so why the 3 toll points?
PoliticsRe: Fashola Plans N60 Billion Alternative To Ikorodu Road by indie22(f): 8:20pm On May 23, 2010
I live in lekki and its not a claim, the 1st toll gate is complete, the ground is currently being prepared for the 2nd toll @ chevron and the 3rd proposed toll at ajah hasn't started yet, residents have filed a complaint and are petitioning the toll posts but nothing is being heard from the office of the governor.

CareerRe: The Prostitution In The Nigerian Banking Sector by indie22(f): 7:05pm On May 23, 2010
Well you can say that, but its not like they are being forced to go and sleep around in order to get juicy accounts.

I come across a lot of bankers, I know the ones that sleep around to get juicy accounts and the ones that don't and at least still do their best. Its a matter of choice!
CareerRe: The Prostitution In The Nigerian Banking Sector by indie22(f): 6:53pm On May 23, 2010
It happens but as for 80%? Its a bit over exxagerated.

Contrary to what people think, no bank forces female bankers to sleep with rich men in order to meet their targets, they just reckon its the easiest way out for them. A lot of them get targets running into hundreds of millions of naira, convincing a rich man to open a bank account and move his millions to your bank is not like buying a car where you see the product you're paying for, most of these men will need you to give them a very good reason why they have to move their money, in a lot of cases if you're confident and professional enough you can get them to do just that, if your bank has more to offer them, but because a lot of girls always want the easy way by using their sexuality as a tool they opt for offering themselves to these baba alaiyes with a lot of money to throw around.

So its not about condition at all, its about desperation

CrimeRe: Where Is Clifford Orji? by indie22(f): 4:55pm On May 23, 2010
I never really believed that story of clifford orji selling human parts to rich and influential nigerians, I think he was just a cannibal and an original mad man!

Back in the days when I lived in surulere, there was a an uncompleted building on my street where some igbo boys rented some space for a shop, pple wondered what they were selling coz it didn't seem like any kind of trade was going on there, but they did notice that at least once a week, these guys would come to their shop with one victim and close up their shop without the victim coming out, as the gist was going round, residents began watching these guys, on one fateful day they arrived to open their shop with a little boy still in his school uniform, word had gone round and street residents had gathered. On bursting into the shop, they found the boy there in the midst of these traders, he was naked, they asked him what he was doing there, the boy didn't say anything, somebody noticed a noose on the floor and mentioned that the room smelt funny and the rug looked damp, on lifting a corner of the rug they found a huge hole with dried bllod in it and sum sulphur like substance around.

My mum later explained that it was to kill the smell of the blood, anyway the residents descended on these boys and beat them silly, then eventually handed them over to the police, funny enough we eventually heard that these boys were released after the police carried out their investigation and found out that it was goats blood and no crime had been committed, these boys were allowed to walk away (prolly after bribing the police) well this is nigeria these things happen.

I dnt knw abt orji but I knw that pple do all sorts and go to all lengths to make this thing called money, we all need to be very careful.
PoliticsRe: Babangida Depressed, Reconsiders Presidential Run After Failed Book Launch by indie22(f): 12:08pm On May 23, 2010
karma's a bitch eh?

Hopefully he'll do most nigerians a favour and turn suicidal or better still develop a terminal disease!
PoliticsRe: Fashola Plans N60 Billion Alternative To Ikorodu Road by indie22(f): 11:04am On May 23, 2010
I'm all for fashola and his projects and I think he's doing a great job in Lagos state.

But why is the lekki epe expressway being redone wiv 3 toll stops, one infront of the oriental, another one just after chevron and the 3rd one after ajah, surely 1 toll gate is all they need, or are they more interested in generating revenue for lagos state than solving the traffic problem in lekki?
PoliticsRe: IBB's Acheivements? by indie22(f): 10:46am On May 23, 2010
Its only in nigeria that after nepa allows you undisturbed electricity for 3 days, we give them a slap on the back and shout that they've done well! When in actual fact they are only doing their duty.

Ibb's completion of the 3rd mainland is not an achievement nor is maryam's better life program. If the office of the presidency does not award contracts to provide better infrastructure for its pple or look for ways to alleviate poverty, who will?

I'm not a huge political person and dnt knw much abt issues, but I know that giving ibb a pat on the back for a job well done is not right, the guy did more harm than good, pple should stop attributing certain things to him, saying "when ibb was in power life was good", well life was already good before he came into pwr, he started the decline and rot and by the time he left the next person just picked up from where he stopped

Evil genius my foot!
