Romance / Re: Contraception - Do Our Naija Women Believe It Is A Bad Thing? by indie22(f): 7:56pm On Jun 02, 2010
A lot of women (not specifically nigerian) don't like to use contraceptives (except when absolutely necessary) because some people experience side effects from them. I don't know if they have them in nigeria but you can have a coil fitted in you and you won't have to worry about getting pregnant for a couple of years.

But really, we should be asking you guys this question, "if you know a lot of nigerian women do not like contraceptives and you as men cannot make the decision to wear a condom, you shouldn't you be prepared for whatever happens afterwards"?
Culture / Re: What Is Your Take On Homosexualism? by indie22(f): 4:38pm On Jun 02, 2010
Who's to say whats moral or not?

There are a lot of things in the bible that are immoral and people still indulge in them, if people want to be gay, it shouldn't be anybody else's headache really!
Culture / Re: Omugwo: An Igbo Aspect Of Life. by indie22(f): 3:35pm On Jun 02, 2010
Is it true that when the mother-in-law is going back home after the omugwo, the husband has to give her somethings as parting gifts?

I'm only asking because it caused a huge row between my friend and her hubby, after her hubby did not buy anything for her mum when she was leaving them to go back.

Hmmmm, i just pity that 'latest wife", she's accompanying her new husband to go and deal with her iyale, That whip that was used to deal with the old wife is there hanging on the wall waiting for the younger wife's turn,
Family / Re: Who Will You Stand For Your Spouse Or Your Mum When They Clash? by indie22(f): 9:29am On Jun 02, 2010
My mum's actually a very calm woman, ive never once seen her angry, raise her voice or lose her temper, so i doubt if that'll happen. Tho she's quick to tell me off if i do something wrong.

And if it does happen, ill not take sides, they're are my two most loved people, ill talk to both of them about it and amongst the three of us we'll try and work it out.

Romance / Re: What's The Best Way To Break-up With A Lady U Dont Love Anymore? by indie22(f): 10:15pm On May 31, 2010
I really don't know what the best way is, maybe letting her know its time to "have the talk" and letting her down gently. Sum guys just stop picking up their phone whenever the chick calls, never return calls or text and hope she'll just go away, that's childish and it hurts. Heartbreaks are never easy at least give the other party sum closure, don't suddenly go cold. Its not nice!
Romance / Re: Is Online Dating Right? by indie22(f): 9:10am On May 31, 2010
Don't know about online dating being right or wrong, all I know is that it can be highly fustrating, so if u feel you're strong enough to handle all the shite that comes with it then by all means go for it!
Romance / Re: My Guy Stored My Number With Bitch by indie22(f): 10:06am On May 30, 2010
My ex was such a trouble maker, that after one of our rows, I stored his name as "wahala" coz he was always doing my head in, a couple of weeks later I stayed over at his place and forgot where I left my phone, I then asked him for his phone so I could dial my number. He was actually smiling and gladly gave it to me, I dialled my number and behold he'd stored my name as "mrs wahala", he must have been looking at me coz he just started laughing, I started laughing as well, coz obviously I knew he'd seen how I'd stored his name on my phone and he'd been waiting eagerly for me to see what he'd done as well.

I dnt knw wat his reason was for storing ur name as b-i-tch, but it could be anything, I'd say talk to him about it.

I have never seen anything as gory and heartbreaking as this in my entire life, my heart is actually beating fast, how can anyone in their right minds be a part of this?

I wonder what these animals smoked, sniffed or injected to get the courage to go this far, How do they even sleep at night?

God will def punish the people responsible for this!
TV/Movies / Re: Wats Ur Worst/best Tv Advert/commercial by indie22(f): 12:36pm On May 29, 2010
I love all Nike adverts, the latest one where Rooney, Ronaldo, Ronaldihno write their future, the funniest one has to be rooney's, where he misses a goal and gets a flashback of how without his football career he would end up a broke backside trailer living tramp, rooney with a face full of ginger beard really made me laugh!

And the worst i think, is the one for 'Dankos Mixagrip", where the dad is feverish and shaking and the little girl runs to her mum and says 'shakey shakey daddy', the man then chews sum tablets and they all end up grinning, i'm always like wtf is this crap?

Romance / Re: Insecurity Or Selfishness? by indie22(f): 10:30pm On May 28, 2010
Its ridiculous really! Everyone knows that people (particularly single chicks) always turn up at these parties looking smoking hot, so why go all out trying to outshine your bridal train, when any hot looking chick in the party can steal your thunder.
Romance / Re: Insecurity Or Selfishness? by indie22(f): 11:52am On May 28, 2010
So looking your best at a wedding equals trying to steal your friend's man?

A bride that keeps herself preoccupied with other people looking nicer than her at her own wedding is shallow and insecure.
Romance / Re: Insecurity Or Selfishness? by indie22(f): 10:31am On May 28, 2010
Happened to me once and it wasnt funny at all, one of my not so close neighbourhood friends was getting married and asked me to be in  her train, i wondered why as we were not particularly close, anyway i agreed and when it was time to do the fittings, she brought out this really ugly shiny green joke of a dress she had some surulere taylor, it looked cheap and garrish and i knew at that moment that i would not be attending the wedding, but i said nothing to her.

Anyway on the eve of the wedding she asked that we all come and sleep over at hers, i made up an excuse and promised to meet them early enough in the morning, then i switched off my phn. It wasnt until her brother came banging on my gate the next morning, they'd obviously tried to contact me, that i decided to still attend the wedding. I reluctantly put on the too loose and not at all flattering outfit,  (picked out another hot dress from my wardrobe to change into) and met them at her dad's house as they were leaving for church, as soon as they had finished their vows and taken pictures (stupid girl was grinning like a satisfied cow), i politely excused myself went to a friend's house nearby and changed into my own clothes and removed the ugly fascinator, then went back to join the party.

You should have seen the silly girl's face when she saw me. She obviously exepected me to stay the full length of the party in her ugly dress. Pple kept asking me why i changed and i told them the dress ripped and i had no choice but to change, funny enough, no one asked how come i conveniently had a change of clothes.

Dont know if she did it on purpose but why anyone would want an ugly bridal train is just beyond me.
Romance / Re: Should She Return His Gifts Or Wat? by indie22(f): 7:00pm On May 27, 2010
Only a petty and shameless man would make such a request, if it was me I would gladly pack the smallest and the biggest of everything the shameless he goat has bribed me with over the years and return them, before he starts to carry my gist all over the place!

I dnt attach a lot to material things, so it should be easy!

Autos / Re: 2010 Kia Models! by indie22(f): 12:49pm On May 26, 2010
George_D:

indie,
almost wanted to do that. i wanted so desperately to belong to the growing 'naija new' kia club but at the end decided it wasn't worth buying an empty shell in the name of a new car when i can buy used that gave me all what i wanted.

I wouldnt necessary call them "empty shells" george, people have different things they want in cars, some pple are more particular than others, ive seen people that have gone tokunboh in the past and would never even think tokunboh now coz of bad experiences with cars, as long as its been used before, u cant compare it to something new and spanking even if that thing is kia or hyundai.

Most people dont half care about a lot of things when it comes to cars, all they want is a car that can take them from point A to B, without any stress whatsoever, a car that that will not make them spend time and money in any mechanic's workshop for at least the first couple of years, a car that is both practical, fuel economic and above all affordable.

As they say, "to each his own"
Autos / Re: 2010 Kia Models! by indie22(f): 11:43am On May 26, 2010
George_D:

indie22,

toyota highlander 2006 model:

• electronic stability control
• 4-wheel abs
• traction control
• child seat lower anchorage
• adjustable upper belt - front
• seat belt pretensioners
• energy management feature
• integrated saftey belt
• rear center lap/shoulder belt
• advanced air bag features
• rear seat head restraint
• tire pressure monitor

in contrast this is what even your latest kia sorento (2010) is giving out:

ABS Brakes, EBD, BA, ESP, TCS, DBC, HAC
Passive Safety Features Standard Driver and front passenger SRS airbags, Front side SRS airbags, Curtain SRS airbags full length, Active front headrests, Front seatbelt pre-tensioners

so you can see that a 2006 model toyota is still way ahead of your 2010 or 2011 kia model? smiley

aaawww, what can i say? its like comparing apples and oranges really.

but personally i'd go brand new over tokunboh anyday
