Rexyl: Really the missionaries were neither myopic in reasoning nor haphazard in their actions. They catered properly for schools, hospitals and several other social amenities they provided for generations yet unborn. What they expect is upgrade of the structures and consolidation to take care of future expansion while people still retain the identity. Merger in secret plan to later destroy their heritage shouldn't be conceived at all by the govt. Christians are concerned about society that is polluted and people of faith are working on the gospel options to sanitize it in line with teachings of their scriptures. That is reason Christians are defending what is known to be right for them and the society. Interestingly many of these leaders acquired western education through missionary schools. See what they the mess they are now plowing back.
If the missionaries succeeded in serving every tom, diick, and harry, why do you think it's no longer possible? This is not worth hatching a conspiracy theory about. They're simply seeing the glass as half empty and it's uncalled for.

carujmonella: God admonished us to give to ceasar, what's for ceasar because he understands in his infinite wisdom that your ilk will be making erroneous utterances like these

Didn't the bible tell you that "cleanliness is next to godliness?". How can you be dirty, being a potential cause of an epidemic that might kill people and expect God to answer your prayer?. Don't be hypocrite, I'm a christain but the lagos sanitation and enviromental body, got this decision right

Kudos to them

What's wrong with having a hijab-wearing classmate. I prefer that for my wards than a mini-skirt or figure-8 enhancing one! Well, since that's my opinion, I don't expect it to be okay by you. And by impose, you mean xtians are innocent of that?

Rexyl: It is good to tolerate one another but if the intention of people or leaders you tolerate is to bring trouble on you and your children in the long run I think you better raise alarm for possible corrections before things goes wrong and beyond control. Something might be hidden in that policy which if people just take it for granted and allow it to go that way, it would be like they bargained for a troubled and insecure future socially and morally, and even an attempt pervert faith is encoded
Don't you think both sides share the same fears - that of proselytizing? I understand your point but if each party puts her house in order, then there shouldn't be much to worry about, provided there is an improvement in the quality of education in the state..

Rossikk: Why is it ''preposterous''? It is you who is preposterous because you think such living things are ''too small'' to have souls. But man is not that much ''bigger'' in size than the smallest insect if you look at the bigger picture of the wider universe. If size is your barometer I guess Mr Elephant can dismiss the idea of man having a soul since man is so tiny compared to him.
No offense bro. My problem is not the size, but wrapping my mind around the fact that you imply that they are immortal with so much conviction. They have OBEs too?

You cannot create consciousness out of mere matter or else scientists (and even laymen) could easily create a full grown, conscious man merely by assembling some human tissue or some other material. Even to get a robot or computer to function you need to input a set of programmes (intellectual energy) or they would be useless.
I completely understand your view man and yes, it has not been possible for life to be created the way we know it but if you look at attempts like that of Craig Venter, you will know that it is only a matter of time before man finally understands his origins (whether it required a creator or not). So back to your position, there is still much that we don't know about the world so we should not be too certain about such assertions.[/quote]
YES YOU CAN. Just as you can say that wealth, good health, food abundance, etc are in existence even though just a few have experienced it!!!

Ridiculous. That's like saying you won't believe in the existence of billionaires until everyone is like Dangote.
You can't compare sleep (a diurnal necessity) with wealth, food 'abundance', 'good' health. I used the word 'basic' initially. If OBEs were as real and a must in man's nature,I think they should be part of the fundamental characteristics of living things (Remember MR NIGER D?). That's what I meant.

ifeness: Life is eternal. When people die, they mostly come back instantly.the earth is a learning field for soul to make mistakes and learn to love one another regardless of the situation. Most of your dead relatives are probably back in another form... Most of the time they are in your Soul Group and will most likely come back as your kids, pets, close friends and helpers.

When you die you get to see the ones who are yet to take the physical form until you yourself are ready to come back. The heaven story of the bible is nothing but a mixed up ideas invented by some random people. The Afterlife is not that complex. The bottom line is" you are your ancestors.....don't our African traditions teach us that? Unless you do not believe them and believe the Jews instead.
You appear so certain and I really need to understand what makes you so sure because I can't seem to point out the difference between your ideology and that of the Jews in terms of credibility and certainty. I'm sure you'll pardon my unbelief.
