In a move reminiscent of the Buhari administration’s penchant for blaming his administration’s under-performance on his predecessor, American President Donald Trump has said that the “mess” he inherited from the Barack Obama administration is responsible fir the crisis engulfing his young administration. Critics however describe this as an attempt to shift blame for not having a full grasp of governance. In a bid to extricate himself from an alleged ties to Russia which many believed aided his victory at the November 2016 presidential election, Trump on Thursday dismissed reports that his presidency is unconventional and unconstrained. Insisting that his new administration is not a chaotic operation but a “fine-tuned machine,” he declared that any perceived challenges were not his fault. “To be honest, I inherited a mess,” he said. Giving himself a pass mark, President Trump declared, “There has never been a presidency that has done so much in such a short period of time. “And we haven’t even started the big work yet. That starts early next week.” In order to endear his flailing administration to his countrymen, Trump alleged that his Electoral College victory was the largest since Ronald Reagan’s. However, a reporter at the press conference corrected him, duly informing him that he actually won fewer Electoral College votes than three of the four presidents since Ronald Reagan. These are his predecessor, Barack Obama; Bill Clinton and George Bush. President Trump brushed it off with a terse, “I was given that information,” effectively passing the buck to his staff. https://informationengine./2017/02/18/like-buhari-i-inherited-a-mess-donald-trump/

Abuja-based businessman, Mr. Nkem Ahidjo, declared on Friday that N35m out of the N8.5bn allegedly diverted by retired Maj. Gen. Emmanuel Atewe was paid to the Living Faith Church, widely known as Winners’ Chapel. Atewe served as the Commander of the military Joint Task Force, Operation Pulo Shield, in the Niger Delta before his retirement. He was last week re-arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for an alleged fraud of N8.5bn, which the EFCC claimed was perpetrated during the operation. He is facing 22 counts before Justice A.O. Faji of the Federal High Court in Lagos. The other defendants in the case are a former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Patrick Akpobolokemi; Kime Engozu and Josephine Otuaga. The EFCC accused them of conspiring among themselves to divert N8.5bn from Operation Pulo Shield between September 5, 2014, and May 20, 2015, using six companies. The six companies were listed as Jagan Ltd; Jagan Trading Company Ltd; Jagan Global Services Ltd; Al-Nald Ltd; Paper Warehouse Ltd; Eastpoint Integrated Services Ltd and De-Newlink Integrated Services Ltd. They had been arraigned on three occasions and had on each occasion pleaded not guilty to the offence. In a bid to prove its allegations, however, the EFCC called Ahidjo as its first witness on Friday. Led in evidence by the EFCC prosecutor, Mr. Rotimi Oyedepo, Ahidjo introduced himself as a businessman, who dealt in stationeries, printing, and general contracts. The witness said he carried on his trade under his five companies based in Abuja, adding that he was a registered contractor with the National Assembly, the National Population Commission, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, to which he made supplies. He claimed to have known Atewe from Villa Church in Abuja, where they both worshiped, as of when the retired general was still a Guard Commander. The witness said, being a pentecostal, he also attended Living Faith Church, and Atewe also worshiped there. He said he cultivated a good relationship with Atewe, to the extent that he attended “midnight church” in Atewe’s house in Abuja, three times a week. Ahidjo narrated to the court how Atewe moved to Bayelsa between July and September 2014 where he served as JTF Commander. “He invited me to Bayelsa and I went. He told me that the Federal Government gave JTF a grant for security and building of barracks and if I have any company into which account money could be paid. And being somebody I knew very well from Guard Commander to Major General, I provided the companies that I listed earlier,” Ahidjo said. The witness said on a second invitation and visit to Atewe in Bayelsa, Atewe told him that three payments were about to be made into his accounts and as soon as they were made he should acknowledge the payments and await further instructions. He said within two to three days of the meeting, he started to receive the payments and accordingly informed Atewe, who asked him to hold on till he (Atewe) returned to Abuja. The witness said upon Atewe’s return to Abuja, he invited him to his office at Niger Barracks in Abuja, where he introduced, Engozu, who is the 3rd defendant, as the person that would take delivery of the money from Ahidjo. Ahidjo said in view of the volume of the monies, Engozu advised him to change the money from naira to dollar before delivery, and he according contacted a Bureau de Change operator, named only as Jimoh. “Each time I received it (money), I would call a BDC operator, named Jimoh. I knew him before this time. He would change the money, I would pay him the naira equivalent and take the dollars. Once I changed it, I would wait for instruction either from Major General Atewe or Mr. Kime. That was what we continued to do until the end of the transaction in 2015,” Ahidjo said. He stated he received a total of N4,915,163,103 within the period, out of which about N4.1bn were converted to dollars and delivered to Engozu, who in turn issued a receipt for each payment based on Atewe’s instruction. Ahidjo said of the remaining amount, he was instructed by Atewe to transfer N35m to Winners’ Chapel; N103m to INP Ltd; N170m to First Investment Ltd; N99m to Lord Fem Ltd; N88m to Ocean Gas and N297m to Cisco Nobot. Asked by the prosecutor the purpose of the transfer to Living Faith Church, Ahidjo said, “I don’t know what it was for; it was on the instruction of Maj. Gen. Atewe. All these monies, I don’t question what they were meant for. It is not my money, so I can’t question what it was for. Maj. Gen. Atewe asked me to act on instruction.” Justice Faji adjourned till March 21, 2017, for Ahidjo to continue his evidence. www.talkgeria.com/topic/n85bn-fraud-n35million-was-given-to-winners-chapel-by-atewe-witness/

The president of the Nigerian federation is suffering from a rare character disorder known as dishonest integrity. Some visible symptoms of this disorder include multiple and conflicting personality types, double standards, preaching what is not practiced, reneging on promises and breaching agreements. The symptomatic effect of this character disorder on the way and manner the Buhari administration is running the country has far-reaching consequences on the socio-economic well-being of Nigeria and Nigerians. Hampered by a dominant figure at the head of government with a dishonest integrity, the programmes and policies of the Buhari administration have been plagued by narrow sectional interests rather than broad national interests, which has expectedly failed to solve any of its inherited problems. President Buhari was reputed for having unquestioned integrity; a man of truth, probity and honesty. His antecedents in public office suggested a man who was averse to indiscipline and corruption. These qualities and many more endeared him to millions of Nigerians. The poor and downtrodden adored him and proclaimed him, Mai gaskiya. The ruling class respected him for ignoring the looting circle despite having all the opportunity available to him to partake in it. His reputation was greatly enhanced by his tenacity in the opposition to the then ruling PDP, which was a bye phrase for misrule and arrogance of power. Between his first attempt to become president in 2003 and his eventual election after the fourth attempt in 2015, a lot has changed in the political life of Muhammadu Buhari. From a sectional candidate who ran on the sentiments of an Arewa agenda of taking power back to the North in 2003 to a certified opposition leader when he ran against a fellow Northerner in 2007, a combination of a credible and opposition candidate who enjoyed massive following in the North in 2011, he finally became a national consensus candidate when a broad coalition of diverse and sometimes conflicting interest groups propelled him to the highest office in the land in 2015. The Buhari brand was hinged firmly on his integrity and incorruptibility; two qualities that were thought to be very rare in the political establishment that was the PDP. A great effort was put into projecting him as a national figure rather than a sectional champion. He started his campaign from the southern city of Port Harcourt, dressed in full Ijaw attire. As a person who had been accused in the past of being a religious bigot, he was seen on several occasions attending events in churches. Most notably, he was physically present at the church service of the burial ceremony of APC chieftain, Ikechukwu Emenike’s father in-law in Abia state, in March 2014 at the Holy Trinity parish Umule village. He was also seen on two occasions attending thanksgiving services organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), first at the International Conference Centre, Abuja and secondly at the Lagos government house, in the election years of 2011 and 2015 respectively. These steps were deliberately taken to allay the fears of the Christian population of Nigeria. Giant and colourful billboards of the president decked in the different traditional attires of various ethnic groups endeared him to all. The president promised transparency and accountability in government business. He openly declared that he was going to declare his asset publicly. He promised to cut wastage in public finances by reducing expenditure on things like foreign medical trips and vacations. The first sign of Muhammadu Buhari’s dishonest integrity was his adoption of extreme sectionalism in his strategic appointments, which not only favoured his Northern region but excluded the entire South-East region from his kitchen cabinet and his security council. Sectionalism is the root of corruption. Sectionalism promotes mediocrity and incompetence, which results in corrupt practices that eventually lead to economic and financial crimes. Therefore, the president is promoting corruption, rather than fighting it. Since he became president, Buhari has not been seen anywhere around a church event. For example, he arrived at the burial ceremony of the late matriarch of the Yoruba nation, HID Awolowo, shortly after the church service in November 2015. President Buhari has not visited the entire South-East region of Nigeria and has visited only Cross River State in the entire Niger Delta region. He has not been seen in public adorning any other attire but his native Northern ones. The next major failure of the integrity test was the president’s reluctance to declare his asset publicly as promised. When he eventually did, under intense public pressure, he merely listed his asset without specific details of type, location, size and value. The reluctance of the president to declare his asset publicly is for the obvious reason that unknown to his devote followers, he is a man of reasonable means, contrary to public perception. His declaration of the possession of a landed property in Abuja sent shock waves down the spine of millions of Nigerians who were made to believe that Mai gaskiya is the only former military head of state without a home in Abuja. Enter the president’s anti-corruption war. He loves to blame the PDP for all of Nigeria’s woes. His rear gaze is perpetually activated towards the sixteen years of PDP rule, which he claims achieved nothing and destroyed the country. That president Buhari is rigidly fixated on this false narrative clearly shows a man suffering from a chronic form of dishonest integrity. That PDP failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians does not mean they achieved absolutely nothing. The PDP administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo inherited a worse situation in 1999 than Buhari did in 2015. In May 1999, Nigeria’s foreign debts stood at a meagre 3 billion dollars as against 24 billion dollars in 2015. The international price of crude oil stood at 17 dollars per barrel in 1999 as against 38 dollars in 2015. The minimum wage of Nigeria’s workforce was about three thousand naira in 1999 as against 18,500 in 2015. The president’s double standards is also always on display when he is referring to PDP. To Buhari, the PDP members that destroyed Nigeria are those who supported Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 election but not those who decamped to APC on the eve of the presidential election and supported him with their looted fund. Another indication of the president’s inherently deficient integrity is the issue of his constant medical vacations overseas; a practice he preaches against. Despite voting huge sums of money for the state house medical centre, an amount estimated to be over 30 billion naira, the president’s still travels on the public purse for medical vacation. The presidential spin doctors have refused to disclose the actual state of the president’s health. He is said to be hale and hearty but at the same time undergoing medical examinations, which have called for an indefinitely extended leave. That we are asked to pray for our president who is said to be “hale and hearty” is the height of disrespect for and insult to our collective intelligence as a country. That Muhammadu Buhari, commonly referred to as Mai gaskiya, cannot be truthful enough to reveal to his countrymen the true state of his health, clearly lumps him with the very people he loves to hate – the corrupt ruling political class. The lack of unanimity among Nigerians on sympathy and prayers for the president is as a result of the deeply divisive attitude of his government, which has left Nigeria more fractured along fault lines than ever before in its over fifty years history. In reaction to the glaring failure of the president’s integrity tests, Nigerians have grown more hostile and suspicious of the Buhari administration. The presidency has become more opaque than transparent, as promised. Half-truths, cover ups, decoys, deflation, buck passing, denials and outright lies have become the mode of operation of the Buhari presidency. To keep the Buhari worshippers in the line of devotion, a well-oiled propaganda machinery is in place to misinform the public by the way of a clever twisting of facts and figures to obscure the reality of the failure of the Buhari administration as much as possible. The Goebellian-style propaganda is being prosecuted with fascist precision of mind indoctrination of the gullible many, who are stuck on the Buhari persona as infallible. This vicious propaganda war against common sense and logical reasoning is gradually failing because the pace of socio-economic progress is glaringly slower than the fast paced propaganda can really obscure. That chief propagandist of the Buhari administration has gained the notorious sobriquet of “lie” Mohammed is an indication the Muhammadu Buhari may have transformed from being Mai gaskiya to Mai kariyane. http://www.talkgeria.com/topic/muhammadu-buhari-and-the-failure-of-integrity-mai-kariyane/ |
Tonto Dikeh's estranged husband, Olakunle Churchill has broken his silence on his marriage crisis. In excerpts from his new interview with Toast magazine ,he denies having a female PA and says all efforts to contact his wife has proved abortive Toast Recently, your househelp disclosed to an online media that you had issues with wife and you have not been at home just after your December foundation project last year? Churchill Every family has its ups and downs but I would not want to talk about my family. Toast It was said that after You left home, you were Alleged of having affair with your Female PA? Churchill Well, it's funny to me, because I don't have female personal Assistant, My PA is Mr Paul, who has been working with me over the years. Besides, it was a sponsored blackmail. Toast Gist had it that your wife Tonto Dikeh Churchill caused uproar in your mother's home, i.e her mother- inlaw, when she was alleged to have pushed her down and broke everything in her house within 2 hours due to her marijuana reactions Churchill These issues are private to me and my family Toast Rumour Has that because of domestic violence from you that your wife moved out with your son? Churchill I wonder where they got such gist from? I don't believe my wife will say that, besides I frown against such even my foundation preach against domestic violence in some of our charity awareness campaigns. It is obvious that all these channelled attacks are targeted to drag my image and what I believe in to the mud. Well, the truth is that I have never raised my hands against my wife. I have evidence of CCTV Cameras in my mum's house when this happened. It can be replayed if you what us to go that far. Toast The news earlier today posted and deleted by one Uche Maduagwu that you have relationship with Bobrisky and Swanky Jerry? What is your take on that? Churchill Truly, I did not see it posted because am not a social media person, but got wind of it later. It's sincerely beats my imagination to think of such relationship...well, don't know Bobrisky but got to know Swanky Jerry through my wife. Toast Your Son's One Year birthday is few days from now, do you have plans to celebrate it? Guess you will be celebrating him with your wife? Churchill Oh! My son, I sure miss him so much. I have planned a worthwhile birthday party for him with friends and family members but it's sad to say that all effort to reach him proved abortive, and this is affecting my business and emotions, The mum won't pick calls and the nanny. Our son has been with the mother and not at home for now. I truly, should not be granting this interview if this is all about my family. Am very optimistic that the family will unite together for King Andrea birthday even though channels to reach my wife is temporarily off. Toast How Do You perceived all these happening in your family? Churchill I see nothing in it, it's a phase of life. Since it does not affect my cheques and savings. But I truly want to call on bloggers or on social media addicts to verify facts before assuming. Every marriage has good and bad moments, it's just unfortunate that I recently discovered that the alleged marriage instability is making headlines on some media platforms. Please Tonto Dikeh fans and well wishers take it easy on her, guess she is still adjusting to motherhood. With time, it will be well. Toast The news had it that your son owns his own company Kindred Realtors, a real estate firm, don't you think he is too young? Churchill (laugh), the company Kindred Realtor was actually one of my companies before I changed it to our son's name after his birth. I feel it's one of his benefit to start building up a brand for him as he grows. Toast Sir, it's been great talking with you, any last words? Churchill The adage of the old says " He that washes his hands well, can eat with elders"...Remain focused, determined and be consistent http://www.talkgeria.com/topic/tonto-dikeh-wont-pick-my-callsi-dont-have-a-female-pa-churchill-breaks-silence/ seun, Lalasticlala, Mynd44

Since the launch of the Treasury Single Account in September 2015, over 20,000 accounts with Deposit Money Banks belonging to Ministries, Departments and Agencies have been closed with a total sum of N5.24tn moved into the TSA. The Accountant General of the Federation, Ali Ahmed Idris, gave the figures on Tuesday in Abuja, while speaking at the opening session of a two day retreat on TSA. The event which was attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Babachir Lawal among other top government officials had as its theme, “One year anniversary of Treasury Single Account: Benefits, challenges and way forward.” The TSA is a platform which was used by the government to unify all its accounts by ensuring that all monies belonging to the federal government are kept with the Central Bank of Nigeria. AD: See How I Satisfied My Woman For Over 30 mins in Bed - Click Here The initiative which took off fully in September 2015 had been complied with by over 900 agencies of government. Since the commencement of the TSA, there had been series of job losses in banks owing to decline in deposits. But the Accountant-General while speaking at the event described the implementation of the TSA as one of the success stories in the management of public finances. For instance, he explained that through the policy, the government has been able to block leakages and abuse which had characterised the public sector before its commencement in October 2015. Apart from blocking leakages, Idris said the TSA initiative has assisted the government to overcome the burden of indiscriminate borrowings by MDAs thus saving government a lot of bank charges associated with these borrowings. For instance, he noted that prior to the full commencement of the TSA, the government was incurring about N4.7bn monthly on bank charges, adding that this has been eliminated through the TSA initiative. He said, “The TSA journey started way back in April 2012. That journey could not see the light of the day as no significant gains were recorded largely due to the lack of political will. “However, the issuance of TSA circular in August, 2015, coupled with the political will and enforcement, enabled us to achieve considerable progress on the TSA implementation. “As at the 10th of February,2017, the total inflow of funds through the mop-up and direct debits by the Central Bank of Nigeria amounted to N5.24trn. “We have successfully eliminated multiple banking arrangements, resulting into consolidation of over 20,000 bank accounts, which were spread over Deposit Money Banks across the country. “This has further brought about transparency and effective tracking of government revenues.” http://www.talkgeria.com/topic/over-20000-bank-accounts-closed-by-fg/ |

The popular Yoruba actor, Babatunde Omidina known as Baba Suwe, has revealed his plans on remarrying soon. Baba Suwe, who lost his wife, actress, Omoladun Kenkelewu, years back, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Baba Suwe talked about losing her. He said: “It has been hard for me to cope since the death of my wife because I don’t have any woman with me. I really loved and trusted my former wife. “But I will marry again, and it may be soon. However, it also has to do with money, because women will not love you if you don’t have money.” On the N25m the court ordered the anti-drug agency to pay him, Baba Suwe replied: “The NDLEA did not give me the money the court ordered, and I have forgotten about it. I’m not interested in pursuing any case against them again; I don’t have money to hire another lawyer. “The former lawyer (Mr. Bamidele Aturu) who was pursuing the case for me is dead. He really wanted us to see the case to a logical conclusion because I’m not a cocaine pusher. “I was really embarrassed and that incident affected my career and health. During the time, people did not call me for movies. The US House of Representatives declared that Nigeria has been mentioned as the most harmful place for Christians to reside in the world. The congress, also asserted the impunity for people responsible for killing Christians in Nigeria is in proliferation. In an invitation letter to former president Goodluck Jonatha to sub-committee on Africa, Global Health, Human Rights and International Organization, the chairman Christopher Smith stated the killing of Christians “seems to be widespread”. Thisday reports that Smith said the sub-committee has looked into many crisis experienced by Nigeria. He declared himself as well as one of his staff, Greg Simpkins, have made several visits to Nigeria and have talked with a lot of religious leader – Christians and Muslims – on the various turmoil in the country. Smith said: “My staff director, Greg Simpkins and I have made several visits to Nigeria, speaking with Christians and Muslim religious leaders across the country and visiting fire-bombed churches, such as in Jos. Unfortunately, Nigeria has been cited as the most dangerous place for Christians in the world and impunity for those responsible for the killing of Christians seem to be widespread.” He urged ex- president Jonathan to accomplish the mandate of his foundation – The Goodluck Jonathan Foundation – by promoting democracy, peace and transformational change in Nigeria. “I invite you to come to the United States next week to share your views on this matter, including the alleged Islamisation of government under the current administration and the actions your foundation is prepared to take in pursuit of religious freedom,” Smith declared. Your timely concession after your electoral loss in 2015, shows a commitment to democracy and the stability of your nation, that was acknowledged by current President Muhammadu Buhari,” he said. Ex- president Jonathan addressed the sub-committee on Wednesday, February 1. Among problems discussed with the committee are the implementation of the 2014 National conference, the continuous violence and killing of Christians in Southern Kaduna among many others. http://talkgeria.com/topic/nigeria-named-as-the-most-dangerous-country-for-christians-to-live-us-congress/ CC: Lalasticlala, Mynd44

Nigerian hip-hop celebrity Innocent Idibi also referred to as Tuface (2Baba) has vowed to start on his planned protest against Federal Government policies in spite of police warning against it. The artist had earlier declared that he would lead a protest in Lagos on February 6 to exude Nigerians’ disapproval of the federal government, especially condemning its failure to reduce the financial meltdown facing the country. However, the Lagos State Police Commissioner Fatai Owoseni, warned Mr. Idibia that hoodlums would “hijack” the protest and apply it to disrupt public peace and wreak havoc in the city. “We know that Tuface does not have the capacity to contain such a crowd and we will not fold our hands and watch while things go out of hand,” he said on Wednesday. Mr. Owoseni did not clarify who he suspected would “hijack” the protest. Regardless, he cancelled the event, stating that it was in the interest of public safety to do so.
