@OP, well said . . .

The one that beats me is the kind of loveless marriages most 9ja girls end up in, just in the name of marriage. Take it or live it, Some people enjoy being single; Why it pains others is what baffles me.

And yes the rate at which most 9ja men use marriage to get laid is just alarming and embarrassing. When the marriage tactics doesn't work, they will switch to advising on how good it will be for the lady to have children for him while she is still young bla bla bla. If that one still doesn't work, they will now start giving you their phone to yarn with their family members. . . . NA TODAY! !  angry angry angry

For those complaining that OP is consoling herself; first try and read meaning into the point here first

1. there is no place she mentioned that she is against marriage or that she doesn't want to get married.
2. she isn't consoling herself

The point stressed here is that marriage is not a do or die affair! I know a lot of ladies back home who have either become depressed, gone out of their minds or have become deluded as a result of their unmarried status<<< Now tell me, for someone going through such psychological issues, how will they even attract the opposite gender. This post is just saying that unmarried ladies should still find something to live for other than "men"! Instead of them to wallow in pity,  why not cultivate that wasted energy into something more positive; doing things that will make them happy, Thinking about how to increase their financial status, going on holiday, visiting nice places, making friends, etc.

Pastors that wont get off your back about the issue of marriage are the ones that are relying on your tithes and offerings, and other cash that they can scheme from you as a result of your sad state.
Men that keep harassing you with overtly empty marriage proposals are losers.
And people that keep hiding under the pretense that marriage is everything, need some serious reality check!  undecided undecided undecided

If a lady is going to die single by no choice of her own, why not live her years in happiness instead of living the rest of her life in dismay, disappointment and agony! that's the "main" point of in this post.  undecided undecided undecided

My name: Inked_Nerd

Vital Stats: Student/Artist

I have been eyeing: I don't know how silly this may sound to you all but the person I was eyeing unfortunately only exists in my memory. His name was Bawomolo cry

Because: Well, he was such a good natured person and I found his knowledge of various topics and issues to be very alluring and at times refreshing.

Do I need his reply: I wouldn't say that I need it, but it would be nice to have it.

A question for him though: Did you ever know that I liked you?

I'm sorry if I brought up memories for those who might still be dealing with his passing embarassed

BoboYekini:
if anything, wouldnt tatoos put more strain on the stretched skin?
You could try loosing some weight/toning those shoulders, you'll look sexier, and they say it reduces the visibility(of stretch marks).
But that wouldn't guarantee that it'll go away. It could actually make it more visible but that doesn't mean I'm against weight loss if it's needed for there person's health.

Actually, I was thinking from the perspective of perhaps an American. . . A Nigerian is a foreigner as well from the perspective of someone living outside of Nigeria. But hey, it's your thread so whatever you choose is fine. Either way, I still read the posts smiley

hey @inked_pervert how's dt supposed to your business. and who told you i never read al she wrote look u beta stay away from me as i not into sugar mommies
How very mature of you. Did I call you any names? Why is it that you felt the need to call me a name? Just say you didn't like how I responded to you, there was no need to call me a name. Please grow up and be mature. And I never said that you didn't read it. I said "If you're too lazy to read the thread, just say so don't bombard the OP with nonsense". Now please tell me, what part of that did I say you didn't read the article? I didn't respond in an assumption that you didn't read it at all. I appreciate you showing how immature you are in your thinking. As for the sugar mommy comment, please just get over yourself tongue

FoodRe: Your First Beer Experience? by InkedNerd(f): 8:34am On Oct 16, 2011
Eh ya. Don't worry, you'll be fine. If it's something you can't handle then I suggest you stay away from it or drink it in very small amounts. I have a cousin who gets knocked out when she drinks just a small amount of alcohol. Once my parents gave her wine and the poor girl slept for hours! We all just assumed she was tired then she later told us that she wasn't used to drinking alcohol.

Yes, you'll be fine. It'll wear off in a while. How old are you by the way? undecided

@OP: Getting a tattoo isn't the answer because if that particular stretch mark becomes bigger then what will you do? Get another tattoo? Find a way to make the current tattoo bigger? OP, if you don't mind me asking, could you please upload a picture of the stretch mark so we can get an idea of what it looks like?

RomanceRe: Is It Good To Set Traps In Relationships? by InkedNerd(f): 12:20am On Oct 16, 2011
mimi234:
Contrary to what everyone is saying,

I believe its healthy to set traps (just don't do it too many times) however it depends on the relationship,

If the relationship is fairly new or still on the boyfriend/girlfriend stage then how can you possibly talk about trust , the couple is still building up their trusts -  there are different levels of trust and soo setting up traps at different stages in the relationship will only make you trust your partner even more, such traps doesn't need to be full CSI-type traps lol, just simple little tests just to see how they react given certain situation

HOWEVER

If the couple in question is married then SHAME ON YOU marriage should be completely based on trust - if your thinking of setting traps then its like your doubting the relationship, which just brings stress etc etc
So if you're dating someone and the person sets multiple traps overtime, you'd be happy with it? You'd say "No big deal, its healthy for our relationship"?

RomanceRe: Marriage Is Overrated by InkedNerd(f): 11:21pm On Oct 15, 2011
9jafreak:
My apologies for my earlier assumption: I made it because it seems to hold true in the majority of cases I have counselled. But the other possibilities exist within the limits I provided: Girls/Guys with bad relationships just give up on everything, changing sexualities, or pure wantonness or youthful lusts.

Marriage is NOT compulsory. Not even according to the Bible. It is the reason a man/woman chooses to do so that counts.

In most cases, it is because they have thrown away all forms of decency and morality.
Can you please elaborate on that last line?

Act like wat?? cheesy cheesy. pls elaborateM cos u seem to be serving your words to me  in parables grin
I mean when people suddenly change their tune when money comes into the picture. Even if its not money, there are those that may dislike someone until they hear that that person may possess something that is favorable to them. For example, I have met people who have been rude or nasty towards me until they learned that I had something they could benefit from.

Rephrased cos u got it wrong earlier cheesy cheesy
I hope you're joking here, because if you're not then that is a very sad way to be thinking of your sisters. I don't look at you as a Nigerian man and say that you're a 419er.

Pls where can i get this soap in lagos.
Chandrika Ayurvedic soap.

Pls anyone with info ?

@ timi 1990, I have seen Medimix at Megacare pharmacy on Awolowo road, Ikoyi,
I haven't heard of Chandrika being available in Nigeria but I have heard of Medimix being available in Nigeria. You can use both on your hair but on the Medimix website they don't really advise on using it on your hair all he time. I use it on my hair whenever I feel like it. For skin, it works wonders. You can try looking for Chadrika Ayurvedic soap at stores that may be Indian owned.

Honestly, I think it's sad that people regardless of gender act like that when things such as money come into the picture.
