It is like u dont know this yorubas, have u not seen their Oni of Ife and Oba of Ugbo writing and rewriting history.

Ny yoruba man can wake up and fabricate customs and history as he likes. They write wateva they like and claim it is history.

If i was to school yorubas on writing, my first point of reference is the difference between fact and opinion.

Yoruba cannot differentiate fact from Opinion, the two are combined and never distinguished.

That is y today the Oni of Ofe and Oba of Benin are fighting. Oni has come up with history that the Oba descended from Ife, the Oba of Benin insist that the Oni of ife descended from Benin.

None of dem make sense, just talking opinion and fantasy.
Your type of foolishness na follow come. That your useless brother that you quoted said it was Ojukwu that released Awolowo and without verifying the lie you jumped behind him and started typing epistle.....instead of you to study, no na gala una go dey sell for traffic....ask any knowledgeble person around you or ask Google, WHO released Awolowo from prison?....you wanted to blame Yorubas but you ended displaying the exact thing you accuse them of. We know based on your opinion and wishes, it was Ojukwu but FACT says it was GOWON....we have been schooling your elders since time immemorial , I won't mind schooling your generation as well.

I don't understand the op's brand of stupidity. What sort of fool writes lies without even thinking. It was actually Ojukwu that released awolowo.
Your elders must have fed your fathers with lies and you inherited Dr lies from him. Mr. Igbo stop being foolish, check Google, your people are used to making lies in broad day light.....Awolowo was released by Gowon. ..wait, are you that dumb? What was Ojukwus position to have released Awolowo. History you people don't know, instead of reading credible authors, na books by hungry authors from Aba you go dey read. ........like father like children

I saw this magazine early this morning while trying to pack some old school books for my nephew,my dad bought one newspaper and a magazine everyday, when we where younger. And back then the covers were sensational and spot on, can't believe this one has being here for all of 12years now! I have decided to read this at work today as I have only heard vague accounts of the cover story wink
Wait, did you just say you'll read it at work? Please tell me where you work, maybe I need a change.

I can safely say that there is a comprehension issue in Nigeria. The thread that generated all these heats did not talk about NCNC but NNPC. We all can develop our level of intellect with a little of nudge of correction baring tribal pulls.
OMG!!!!you are certainly right about something, you have comprehension challenges...So probably because the thread creator made a mistake about the party, we should all follow suit. I am saying it again Herbert Macaulay was only related to two parties until his death in 1946; NNDP and NCNC......correct me if I am right!!!.....What exactly is your point self?

Soyinka is the probably the first person to show us that nobel prize in literature may not be worth that much.
While Achebe was destroying age-long white superiority passed down by respected but bigoted racist writer joseph conrad, your soyinka was busy kissing as$.
Fast forward to the future, Achebe is by far the most recognized and most respected
.
The south west is backward. Your pre-historic roofs, your cave-lives habitation, your obtuse traditionalism bears testament to your backwardness. Even your very visage looks backward.
It also shows why lagos is located at the very edge, almost demarcated from the rest of yoruba primitiveness.
Comparing the south west to the ever-developing, real estate haven called the south east is criminal.
Lolllllllllllss...................I keep saying it you peoples delusion na follow come......Come back and talk to me about the WORTH of NOBEL PRIZE in LITERATURE when you can boast of 1 in your entire TRIBE....You know you people are so predictable, I knew that would be your next line of defense....so weak and lame....try harder next time.
Your claim about Achebe would have been a little bit worthy of consideration if you have statistical record or a documented survey to back it up but rather and as usual, you relied on your personal sense of fantasy and delusion. NOTE ACHEBE DIED without a nobel prize....IF Professor Soyinka had died after 1986 when he got the award, his death in 1986 would still be more valuable than the death of Achebe, 20 years after. SOYINKA belongs to the league of NOBEL LAURETTES, achebe ISNT!!!!....you can kill yourself for that.

EVEN your elders would be disappointed in you for comparing SOUTH WEST with SOUTH EAST in terms of development............It has been documented and confirmed (google would help your naivety)...........SOUTH WEST is the most developed region in NIGERIA since pre and post independence and till date.....The total number of industries in the south east is lesser than the total industries in OGUN STATE; infact OTTA alone...........stop typing lies and rubbish as response...IT IS BETTER TO KEEP SILENT and BE THOUGHT a FOOL THAN TO TYPE and REMOVE all DOUBT.

It is unfortunate you are trying very hard to defend a fallacy written by your tribal goon. There was nothing such as NNPC founded by Macaulay. Azikwe was never a member of NNPC as stated by the poster. Entire Lagos was part and parcel of western regional government even though a nation's capital with special mandate from the federal government.
I am struggling to get your point actually. trying to defend who?...........Herbert Macaulay and Azikiwe were members of a political party called NCNC; you can confirm from google. Herbert was the Chairman and Azikiwe was the secretary and later succeeded him. that's what my history book says.....I do not in any way distort facts rather I try to set it straight. Most especially to the self-acclaimed children of the lost tribe of Israel....who believe everyone owe them but they don't owe anyone. C'mon!!

BTW if South West is backward from your submission, then south east must be farther away on the backward queue, because in terms of development and civilization...SOUTH WEST is farther to south east like heaven is to earth............Go and seek your elders opinion for response...I'll be waiting.

Not interested in the lies and revisionism on this thread ...you can enjoy your own lies for all I care but West and specifically Lagos is multicultural in human habitation NOT because Yoruba is liberal(ofcourse they are not) but because lagos was Nigeria capital for long hence attracted attention of different tribes in Nigeria...just like Abuja is doing today... bye!!!

For your other lies here, so far it helps you sleep then enjoy them wink
Ofcourse you wouldn't care at all...cos you have no fact to counter the "so called" lies up there. So in your dream, the entire WEST was the Capital of Nigeria, huh? Ibadan was a former capital of Nigeria and even Ogun shey?.......Your envy na follow come. If truly you are armed with facts like you would want to believe, state each of my statement and debunk them with your fact......

Listen, it is not by coincidence that Yorubas are located in the WEST, check out the other WESTERN inhabitants around the world and you'll see similarities. The Igbos are not just mistakenly placed in the EAST by nature, you can also check out the situation of EASTERN region around the world....your fellow easterners, JEWS and ARABS have so much hate for each other and the rest of the world. I still say it again, the HATE in you people na follow come....it is in the genes. Not really your fault though.

Yorubas welcomed us with open arms yet it was awolowo that introduces the indigenization policy, he was the one that that issued the policy that gave every Igbos €20 for each bank investment...
So much for live and let live.
Yorubas don't own Lagos and won't dictate to us how we live in Lagos so far as Nigeria continue to exist...
And no matter the hatred for the Igbos we will continue to succeed against all odds...
Just gerrout my mention hateful bunches
Lol...even the inherent hatred in your genes is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf......

I wonder why many of your people think through their anus rather than their heads....Imagine, so Awolowo was the Head of the Government that made the pronouncement?....when your blood is a little warm find out.....I totally agree with you Lagos is a no man's land, infact the whole of SW is, afterall, Igbos were given back their properties they left behind in the whole region...Lagos is such a no man's land, that the Governor and his cabinets are from all over Nigeria rather than a particular tribe. Other tribes except Igbos have been living together in every part of the country without issue, you know why? cos of mutual respect (respect for the host by inhabitants and vice-versa) But Igbos have been having issues with every tribe from time immemorial, from Port-Harcourt to Lagos to Kano to Kaduna....."WHY ALWAYS IGBOS" I know you are too deluded to see the anomaly...Just continue to masturbate on your delusions, it is self-relieving...

How much history is being twisted and fed to kids in that region...

But who cares...?
Your hatred to Igbos has never stopped them and will never stop them smiley
LOl...it is the other way round. The amount of lies and hate message being spread by Igbos against Yorubas is alarming. It didn't start today..it actually started in the 1950s. Take for example, I saw a thread where a guy said Igbos properties in the West were ceased after the war. I laughed so hard....despite the countless accounts of Igbos personally stating that they were welcomed with both hands by the Yorubas after the war. My conclusion is this...the "playing victim attitude of Igbo" is a major problem for them. Yorubas have always been liberal, the reason why the WESTERN part of Nigeria is the place with the highest representation of every tribe in Nigeria. Yorubas believe in live and let's live. But they expect the visitors to know their bounds and respect the landlords.

The point is you need to asses her from when you guys came together till date. Has she shown any wayward attitude? You said you disv.rgi.nd her, that means she hasn't done it with anyone till you met her. The truth is good girls are scarce bro, do not use your hand to push a good girl a way. Christianity EtcRe: A Response To Hardmirror's Post About Converting To Atheism by Intrepid01(m): 11:43am On Dec 04, 2016
michlan:
To have a relationship with God is the easiest thing on earth only that we humans make it very complex. 2 things are required; humility and obedience.

The reason why Atheists find it hard to get God is because they are proud of their "intelligence", they seek God proudly and the bible says in Prov 3:34 that He resists the proud hence they can not know Him but He gives grace to the humble and those of contrite heart. It is possible to ask God the same questions the atheists ask him and you will be surprised at how diligently He answers whereas they cannot get such answers because they are not seeking Him humbly. This is the major difference between Saul and David.

The second issue is obedience. God never starts speaking to us in dramatic ways. Our obedience to the little things he commands us will increase the level of relationship. These include obedience to little instructions we read in our bible daily. The more we are faithful to those things, you will not be able to pin point when/how exactly the relationship has grown but it will be evident that it has grown. We only observe the growth when we sit down to take a retrospect of how far our relationship with Him has grown.

Prayer, fasting, giving etc are spiritual exercises that we do naturally if we are obedient to God's word. I would have been ambiguous to start giving "7 keys" or steps to grow with God. Just stick with those 2 and see how amazed you will be at your growth. All other spiritual attributes stem from these.
Thank you sir....I appreciate

Christianity EtcRe: A Response To Hardmirror's Post About Converting To Atheism by Intrepid01(m): 9:53am On Dec 04, 2016
michlan:
I read the post by hardmirror about his renouncing Christianity and I must say that I am glad, sad and mad at the same time.

I am glad because his story has caused a personal revival in my own heart (1 Cor 10:12 is really welling up a revival in my heart as I’m getting fresh and deeper understanding), sad because it is an anguish for one who has seen the light before turn away from the path even in the heart of the Lord Jesus and mad because the devil is not resting in ensuring that he takes as many down with himself as possible.

As I kept on reading his piece, many scriptures kept flashing that made me cry back to God for a personal revival. Therefore, I see it as a need for some of us who has seen God’s goodness to testify of His works and how real he has been to us. My aim is not to start an argument nor defend God but we owe it to Him to always tell others about what he has done for us and I am convinced in my heart that truly, there is a God in heaven. I may not have seen as many “spiritual manifestations” as him, yet my experiences are real enough such that no man can convince me otherwise.

I became born again in my second week on campus and that was September 10, 2006 when some group of Christians were on evangelism on a Sunday morning and I immediately joined the fellowship and was being taught the rudiments of a Christian life. I got introduced to spiritual books and some of the experiences increased my thirst for the supernatural and I also started seeking such experiences like seeing visions, angels, miracles etc.

Now, I must confess at this point that I have never seen angels nor visions but God has revealed himself in ways I have come to love so much I would not give up for any “spectacular” experience.

When I became newly converted, I found myself still struggling with certain sins and I would cry afterwards to earn God’s forgiveness, but it was a major problem for me to be assured that God has heard my prayers, then I resorted to some tests which I used many times but I can vividly remember 3 distinct times. At 3 different locations when I finished praying and I wanted to be sure I was heard, there was no electrical power and I asked to make sure that power came on if he has really forgiven me, it was not up to 10 seconds after I said this that it happened, 2 times I asked for power to be restored and one time I asked for the power to be off. Please notice these were not same locations and the areas were not places that had erratic power supply. All this happened in my first year of being converted and God answered this spiritual babe in my ignorance.

Another event that I can never forget was on 2 different occasions on campus in my 2nd year, I was about to leave school at night and it was raining heavily, I prayed that rain should cease for me to get home (there were urgent needs for me to get home at those moments), the rains stopped immediately and the moments I entered my room, a very heavy downpour started both times (I had to trek for about 20 minutes to get home).

Please note that all these were during my days as a spiritual babe who was just curious about how real God was and these occurrences went on to cement my faith (at that time) that they were not ordinary nor were they coincidences. I am not saying that God is always bound to reveal Himself in such manners. Then He helped me and showed me a more excellent way and since then, I have not tried those methods again.

I got baptized in the Holy Ghost on July 26, 2008 and afterwards I started noticing some changes in me. I discovered that whenever I spoke, I usually speak with more authority (I had been very timid and an introvert before now) and my words usually came with power especially when I talk to people. Then a major turnaround happened some few months later.

A popular minister was to come to our campus to minister for 3 days and we had different units in preparation for the meeting, I joined the security/protocol unit and when he was coming for the evening crusade, I was the closest to him so I approached him to collect his bible, he just smiled and laid his hands on my shoulder for some seconds and said “God bless you brother” without giving his bible to me (I later learnt he doesn’t give his bible to others to carry).

I had never learnt about transfer of anointing neither was I seeking for any anointing, I only learnt what happened that day in some books I read afterwards. I also did not feel anything as he touched me but I observed the change when I got home afterwards. I opened my bible to read and anywhere I opened to read became life and practical to me, I discovered that when I am faced with any situation at any season, scriptures will just jump from my heart describing my situation and showing the way forward. I could sit down with a verse of scripture and write pages on the issues there especially as it pertained to our contemporary world. Let me take my time to share some of my experiences on the word of God becoming life to me.

My set finished from school in December 2012 and we were hoping to go for service in March of 2013, that was when they started the issue of JAMB regularization. Some of us including me came in through pre-degree and were told that we could not make the first batch in March but rather wait for July. Suddenly, when the mobilization list for July came out, my institution was excluded because the staffs submitted our names after the deadline due to their negligence, we were all told to wait for November. It was very distressing because we had other things we needed to achieve in life rather than wait endlessly for NYSC. I could remember that few weeks before the orientation camp for July would commence, I was just lying on the sofa in our living room that afternoon and I was reading John 4 then I came to verse 35, I was about to pass it through until a voice in my heart (whom I’ve come to know as the Holy Spirit) called me back to it. I was reading the king James version “Say ye not 4 months and then cometh Harvest” (it was 4 months between each NYSC batch) and the word “Harvest” was interpreted to me as “Service”.

If you see the way I jumped out of the chair that day, I was convinced beyond reasonable doubt that I will be going for service that July even if our name was not on the mobilization list. That night we heard a news from school that the NYSC has asked them to resubmit our list just 2 weeks to camping. When the call up letter came out about 1200 of us were given call-up letters out of the remaining 2500 students. Now a very close friend of mine who was also a Christian was not among and had to wait till November. Were the others who had to wait sinners and why did God not answer their own prayer? (I will address this question later). These are verifiable facts and you can ask anyone who went for service in June 2013 from LAUTECH.

Another experience I would love to share happened in February 2016 about how I got a job after over a year of trying. I had a plan to go for my masters in GIS because I did my internship at my school’s GIS lab and was convinced it’s the field for me to pursue my career. However, I needed to get working experience to improve my chances as I planned to apply to some schools in Germany due to the free tuition. I searched online for such firms around Lagos and got 3 addresses I was planning to visit. I had spent a lot searching for jobs and it was starting to get frustrating, so on this fateful day, I left home for surulere where the first firm was located. I also called the 2 other firms on my way, one of them did not pick the phone while the other told me there was no vacancy, when I reached the one at surulere, I was told that they don’t have space to take me.

I remembered walking down Ogunlana drive and I was so dejected and paraphrased a scripture to God “I have toiled all day and I have caught nothing” Luke 5:5 and I simply heard that voice in my spirit quoting verse 4 back to me so I called back the previous one that did not pick but again I heard no response, as I got to under the bridge at Ogunlana drive where there is a checkpoint, the man called me back, I explained my situation to him, then he asked me to come and see him in his office the following day, we chatted and he asked me to come and resume immediately without collecting my CV. My plan was to also get experience even if it meant no pay but thank God I received a pay to cater for my transport, feeding and I could also save and send some money to my younger brother in school.

To me, the bible is not just some words on paper but when the Holy Spirit breaths on it in my heart, it becomes so powerful than the greatest forces in the physical and spiritual.

Permit me to also share this particular incident when I was having my IT, I had stayed back in school to do the IT in my department in obedience to the instruction I received. There was a bookshop in town I had gone to look for a particular book and I was told the book was N4500 and I was waiting for when I will have the total amount to go and purchase this book. On this particular day, I heard the same voice in my spirit telling me to get up now and go to the bookshop to buy the book, all the money I had to spare that day was 4200, I was a bit hesitant because I would still need a transport fare of 100 naira to and fro but I decided to obey that voice within me.

I got a taxi to take me to where the bookshop was and when the driver got to the bus stop before where I was going, I was the only passenger left in the car and the man apologized that he will have to turn at that junction to go to another place he needs to be urgently. The place was just about 100 meters to where I was going, so I alighted and gave the man the fare but he insisted he will not take it, I told him not to worry and take it but the man refused, so I thanked him and trekked to the seminary where the bookshop was located.

On getting there, I discovered that they were having a conference and there were various book selling stands (I had no previous idea such a thing was going on) so I approached one where I saw the particular book I was looking for and the seller told me it was 4100, I nearly cried as I was awed by how caring God was about little details of my life, then the man asked what I was doing, I told him I am a student and he said he’s very glad when he sees students and youths reading books in this generation, then he returned 100 naira to me making it 4000 naira I paid for the book, water kept dripping from my eyes on my way back because I came to appreciate the supernatural way God was leading me even if it was not “spectacular” as what many people (including me) hoped to experience but I have come to see how divine those leadings were.

Time and space will not permit me to share many other events such as the circumstances surrounding my coming to Germany, how deliverance comes from “merely” teaching the bible, my NYSC experiences, how God told me to watch and see who my real father is when I had some issues with my dad and he did not send any money to me in school for 8 months (that was the period I had money most in school), how God disciplines me when I go wrong, the encounter I had with God’s word and has made me to never fall sick or use a drug since 2008 up till this moment even though I was a frequent patient of malaria before then.

I also remember how my roommate on campus then was delivered from High BP (about 4 of us knew about it on campus) when a word of knowledge came from the pulpit when a guest minister mentioned there was a young man in the meeting who had high blood pressure and that it has been taken away. He had been to the hospital like 4 times for about a year and they kept on telling him he still had it before the ministration. The next time he went to the hospital to check, it was gone, he said the doctor kept on telling him they would keep observing to see how real his miracle was. My friend got married last Saturday and he still does not have any High BP up till now.

Or is it about a blind man that got to see when we went for an outreach and a “common” brother in the fellowship prayed for him.
I am not saying that God has answered all my prayers as that would be a lie or all his revelations have been palatable. I remembered when he showed me that one of my mum’s siblings would die that year, I informed my mum and I started praying about it but it still happened few months after that as her eldest sibling suddenly slumped and died at the age of 62. Many other times, I have prayed for people’s healing but they still do not get it. It doesn’t change the fact that He is God or powerless, the truth is that no man can fully comprehend God or know what he knows but I am content to always appreciate the little knowledge I have of and from him.

My submission is that anyone who tries to fully know/explain God will lose his mind but anyone who ignores Him will lose his soul, thus, I am content with Deut 29:29. He is the creator and is never subject to the wishes, prayers, wills, emotions, needs of his creation even though he responds to them as a responsibility.

My aim is not to start another argument over whether He exists or not but to give my own personal testimony of my experience with him. Even if any man comes up with “logical” reasons for such experiences, it doesn’t change the fact that they are yet real to me and I keep on getting assurances of His love for me as a father. My experiences with God also does not make others who do not have such less of a Christian as I’ve come to discover they also have an experience of God which I’ve never had

All the accounts I have shared with you are first hand experiences and you have the choice to believe or disbelieve them, it still doesn’t change God or whether they are true or not but I know whom I have believed, the things I have seen, touched and handled in my walk with Him and am convinced that He lives forevermore. Shalom
Wow bro I totally believe with what you have written up there....both the seen and unseen part of it. Pls bros, how can I have this kind of relationship with God. I am a logical and spiritual person. I don't believe things on face value, but from my little experience (as a baby xtian) that God is more real than we can imagine and he does not owe anybody explanation.

How can I know him beyond the ordinary, without distraction?
His words (bible) carry supernatural power, I have experienced a bit of it...How can I av it's revelation and understanding power ?

I think God and his ways is something worth knowing and understanding .......

Op, if u are not comfortable with her religion, look for a wife in your own religion and leave her alone.
Breathe in and out (2ce)..Now go back up there, gently and carefully read what the Op has written and comment appropriately.

Thank me later!

Guy, you have failed the first test. But you can still make up for the remaining later. Stop feeling like she's above your league.

Ask yourself the following questions:

1. Are you sincere with your intentions?
2. Do you have a steady job?
3. Do you have drive and ambition?
4. Where do you even see yourself in the next 5yrs?

Bros, if you can convincingly answer those questions with enough positivity, I assure you, you can marry Barack Obama's daughter.
So do not let the comment of all those small small girls up there discourage you, those girls are still young and naive, they know little about life.

Do not hesitate to ask her for friendship and pls, do not appear desperate.

If she says no, just lock up and move on. Plenty tilapia dey inside ocean. If one car no go benin, plenty fine cars go still go.

I'm beginning to think that this suicidal thing is spiritual....cos suicide thoughts does not just come in one day, it takes time and occur in stages. People around such people would even notice signs such as withdrawal, moodiness and loss of appetite to live. But the cases we see today leaves no trace of such . I think snake has hand inside.
