/ Send in Bakassi boys to Ekwulobia prison. Case closed. Or with all the cases of prison break in Nigeria, these boom boys will be freed soon to continue their carnage regrettably in the heart of Igbo land. \ |
HungerBAD:/ Every society has some evils they contend with. Nigeria has homosexuality/lesbianism (starting from secondary schools), cradle-snatching (mostly in the North), etc. Laws are made to protect citizens from such vices. Nigerians are against homosexuality/lesbianism, not because they are in denial of its existence in the society, rather they do not want the government to give it a stamp of approval. / |
/ People who cry "discrimination and marginalization" are those who have no other options. People with other options follow their passion and tell the oppressors to shove it via the rear end. And that's what Wizkid has done. Any African artist that will bend over backwards to accept any insolence from BET deserves what he/she gets. Kudos to Wizkid! \ |
GoodSense:Here is Bolaji's response to the saga and I quote ipsissima verba, "On Jun 28, 2015, at 22:25, Mobolaji Aluko < alukome@gmail.com> wrote: xxxxxxxxxxxx: Thanks for your confidence in me, and for your logical inquiries....much appreciated. If this news is a result of the proverbial "enemies," then no weapon formed or fashioned against me will succeed. And if those enemies come through one door, they will have to escape through seven doors.....that is what my Bible says, and I believe it! :-) Moving on... As to the allegation themselves, enemies or not, when questions are raised of public officials, accountability is essential. Be sure of this: they are ABSOLUTELY untrue, and there is no disaggregation of the salaries. I am not getting A SINGLE PENNY of SALARY beyond what is approved. What is being considered additional is ALLOWANCE to three of us DIASPORA VCs (Otuoke, Kashere, Wukari) all of us who are on SABBATICAL without PAY from our foreign institutions, but who yet require to do two CO-PAYMENTS of both our health insurance and our pension contributions for our families that still live abroad, and to which we intend to return after our national service stint - all things being equal. Without those allowances, which amount to almost 80% of our basic salaries, we will be left with almost no money from our local salaries, and not a single one of us would have accepted the VC job - unless they want us to steal government money! Which we were not ready to do, and have NOT done.... In any case, we are in the fifth and final year of our VC terms - so why is it just now that some UNVERIFIED letter is purportedly being written? Inquiring minds want to know..... By the way, the PUNCH reporter Simon Utebor called me for clarifications about the allegation before going to press. I gave him the above information, and he promised to use it. But when the news came out in Punch, and my clarification was not included, I called him to query the omission. He too wondered why, and said he would find out and get back to me. He has not yet - but I await him. Again, this is my first volley. In any case, this is my first volley - more to come against those proverbial enemies..! There you have it. Bolaji Aluko |
/ There should be no deadline for BVN registration The bank should have current customers do the BVN registration before the next new transaction can be completed. There should be a BVN registration section that is open during normal banking hours for old and new customers. \ |
kodlins:/ You don't know Bolaji on the level you are trying to vouch for him Let's leave it at that. \ |
kodlins:/ You mean Howard University? Yea..that's how much you know Bolaji whose father was instrumental to giving Biafran war survivors 20 pounds each. He is a very cruel, tribal bigot. \ |
/ The Nigerian elites forum is going to blow up on this....moving over there to read comments. I know where this is going. Let me see Nigerian Ambassador to USA (Washington) Prof. Adefuye and Rt. Gen. Williams take on this. LOL. \ |
/ "Promise and Fail" business gone wrong. The chance of an ADC knowing the business dealings of his/her principal is near zero because they don't share the same office. ADCs are more or less receptionists. So I find PEJ exculpable. \ |
/ And as soon as a new minister comes in, all the NEPA problems will start again. / |
/ Violence whether domestic or not is part of Nigerian culture. People are just being pretentious about it. Violence against students by teachers. Violence against the populace by Law Enforcement personnel. Violence in the legislature. Violence in the North Violence in the SE, SW and SS. The people talking about domestic violence is the same set of people talking about global warming. Not because they stand against it, but because there is something very classy about the course. / |
/ Deplorable? Maybe you are new in Lagos. This is one of the best. \ |
/ Forgive but stay away. It may be a ploy to rope him in for a kill. Evil minds are constantly at work. A remorseful heart wouldn't wait for the intervention of extended family before doing the needful. To err on the side of caution is the path of least resistance. \ |
/ They have been in existence from the beginning of time. They are the most resourceful. They have all the information about the school except how they can be admitted to the school. \ |
“Even some of my friends who are not\ In other words, young people are not qualified to lead Nigeria. So says Saraki. / |
/ Shaking hands should be illegal in Nigeria. One might as well lick a used Petri dish \ |
tolextony:/ The people that care to give to their countries are the ones who know that their countries will be there for them when needed. \ |
Euro31:/ You are confused. The house is in Benue state not Katsina. You will be surprised that the helipad is the cheapest thing in that house. \ |
Euro31:/ What source do you want? Use your brain. OR better, visit a Helipad to know what it is. In fact, a helicopter doesn't need a helipad in an open terrain. \ |
barcanista:/ A helipad is a glorified concrete work, marked with paint for a helicopter to land. If built on the ground, it should take about 1 trip of stone, 1 trip of sand, 15 bags of cement and a gallon of yellow paints. One can throw in a few lighting features for night landing. My estimate is N200k or less if direct labour. The only difference with roof landing is that more reinforcement is needed. So, it is not a big deal. The big deal is that he owns a helicopter which costs a lot to maintain while his constituents wallow in extreme poverty. / |
/ “He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark..., and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” Revelation 13:16-17 Get your BVN!!! \ |
Exploit200:\ And ndi Igbo say, "nkwucha abughi ujo" Forewarned is forearmed. / |
/ Barcanista nailed it. One should not compare a self-made man and a daddy's son. It is same as the son of late Alh. Lamidi Adedibu claiming that he is a political juggernaut whereas without the overbearing influence of his late father, he could not had been anything. Pa Saraki used his son and daughter to protect his political interests. \ |
/ Once bitten twice shy. Buhari was overthrown before. He learned from his mistakes. \ |
Boy101:/ Everything is a rumour in Nigeria. And it usually spreads like wild fire. \ |
/ Either you know the deal or in case you don't, you should contact HR for more explanation. Unless performance related crime means you performed more than required. And in Nigeria parlance, over sabi dey kill. \ |
/ This is why I am dumbfounded that people do not see the mockery in calling Nigeria the giant of Africa. It is same as giving a standing ovation to the captain of a reta.rded team. \ |
deebee13:/ You are not a serious human being. That's all. \ |
/ Nigerian press is nonsense. "Juicy" position? It seems they are indirectly implying something sinister. And I thought it was supposed to be a job. \ |
/ The delivery was too poor. I could only take 5mins of it. \ |
/ Your problem is because of your mindset. Anyone who passed through your ordeal would have supported your business well with your salaries especially in a place like Nigeria where nothing is guaranteed including salaries. Haven't you noticed that smart government employees have side businesses? The ones with such businesses are smiling in Osun these days while their counterparts are hoping on Kasamu's rice. Learn from your mistakes. Do not rely on one source of income. It could be a keke or okada bringing back daily returns. It doesn't matter as long as you have some positive cash flow outside of your regular employment. |
/ I still think it is not a good idea to leave a car at a car wash. 1. Car wash crew can steal from you. 2. Sometimes you need to supervise them to avoid pouring water into a place that may fry your circuitry or prevent them from using sponge to wash your car (dulls the shine of the paint) If you don't have the patience to wait, then wash it at home. The same way I feel about people giving their ATM cards and pins to others to withdraw money for them. |
