SOunds like a good idea...I hope you will not turn into militant feminists! ![]() |
What you need to do is first, put away your CV in a safe place. It will help you but not now. Secondly, put away your pride. Don't tell your wife what you intend to do at this point. Don't ask for any advice on this one. Go to any of the construction sites to get a job as a jobman...pays about N2000-N3000 a day. If you can do it 5 days a week, that is about N10,000 to N15,000 coming your way. Use your advance degree experience to market yourself(don't bring it up though). If you have this amount coming in temporary every week, you have achieved 3 things 1). Income 2).Saved yourself from temporary insanity and feel of worthlessness 3). Saved yourself from hardship. Remember, you should strive to know the contractor in case he/she has other sites. Keep doing this....remember it is a temporary patch to your life. Now to part 2: With the little money you are making, your brain will be more relaxed to start looking for other jobs. The best time to look for jobs is when you still have one. Else, the frustration on your face will be enough to scare a potential employer. It is psychological. If the job is not forthcoming, then continue doing what you are doing or similar jobs until mother luck shines on your face again. If, as a human, little pride is still an issue, you can go outside your area to do this. I will advise you to inform your wife of this after the little money starts coming in. Why? Because sometimes second opinion brings second-guessing ones drive and may kill it. And most importantly, it is your family....this new venture should be buried between you and your wife only. But OP...this is just my advice. If any other person gives a better one, kindly follow it. What you need now is cash flow.Your focus now is short term not long term. Step 1 before Step 2. Don't give up. Keep your head up. |
Ilekokonit: We have to daily keep criticising the Lootocrats who have held us ALL by the jugular in the hope that one day we shall have a critical mass of critics that will force our greedy leaders to change their evil ways. YOU SAID IT ALL... |
OilSubsidy: Do you really have time for a 19-yrs old whose parents are still paying his school fees? His parents sent him outside to study instead of the almighty Nigeria universities and he did not ask why. By that evidence and admission, he had just proved my case. By the way, my issue of mentioning houses in Nigeria is not a bragging right, just to inform the ones that think that they are more Nigerian than others that perhaps, a good number of us in diaspora have more at stake in Nigeria than most of them in ground zero. He mentioned working in Burger King...Yeah...this is really someone I really want to engage in meaningful discussion. I will give him another 5 years to mature. By the way, that kid is never going back to live in Nigeria...over his parent's dead body. They did not invest all that in his education to let it go to Nigeria and become a waste. Just as itinerary to the west was not his idea, likewise relocating back to Nigeria will not be his neither. He is just a mama boy. Wait until life starts throwing curve balls his way, this small boy will learn. Did you see the picture of the 4 PH boys barbequed in Aluu, Rivers State? |
To Arsenate and Godogwu: I will let others hammer sense into you. Someone wondered why I still visit Nigeria forum...You missed the point which is typical of an educated illiterate. I still travel to Nigeria two or three times every year. I have houses in Nigeria. But will I voluntarily live there? HECK NOOOOOOOOOO!!! The ignorant ones (of course, there are decent ones) argue that they have houses, cars, servants, etc. So what? I have all that every few weeks I stay in Nigeria. So I do partake in your definition of "quality" life in Nigeria. It still does not negate the fact that I consider it a momentary journey to HELL. I have been through PH and MMIA. If you come into Nigeria and you have to pass through this two airports, you may throw up. The airports look like toilet. Nigerians in diaspora are beginning to wake up to the challenge by harassing the politicians when they venture into places like Washington, NY, etc. But the retards in Nigeria are busy bragging about depreciable items they acquire (cars, phones, etc) and misconstrue that as "living large". With the high number of civil engineers churned out by the numerous glorified high schools (universities) in Nigeria, why are Nigeria roads death traps? The half-baked architects ensure that collapsed buildings are not in short supply. Do you really want to know that Nigeria is a shit hole? A student with just a pass in a University in Nigeria can come to the western world and get very outstanding grades in schools. Why? It is the enabling environment stupid! The politicians know it. That's why they send their wards out to other countries (even common Ghana ) to study. And as I stated earlier, the led are busy here online making excuses for the leaders while the leaders are busy smiling to the banks. Keep it on Arsenate and Godogwu while your life pilfers away. How is the English league? Chelsea, Manchester Utd, Liverpool and other English Premier teams you sons of guns waste your precious times watching, fighting and maiming over while your lives run yonder. LOL.LOL.LOL. By the way, the US diversity visa lottery is on now, you might want to fill out the applications and go and pray to whatever god you pray to have mother luck smile on your behind. This way you will be opportuned to bid farewell to Nigeriaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! LOL..LOL....LOL. Ignorance is a bliss~ |
This is how I see it...For all those who think Nigeria is heaven on earth.....just keep enjoying it. I don't envy you! Sooner than later, you will be the same ones to run to this forum to complain how shit a place Nigeria is. ![]() Take a trip to US or British Embassy in Nigeria When people get visa to escape Nigeria, it is all jubilations! Take a trip to MMIA or other International Airports in Nigeria When people are sent back to Nigeria, it is all lamentations! I live in both world, Lagos/Abuja vs. Irvine/Houston. Heck, I was in Dubai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Dubai, Paris, London, Guangzhou, Amsterdam.... I have been around the world... But no where have I seen the level of infrastructure decay, corruption, dirt, insecurity as in Nigeria. When I showed someone my house in Lagos, she thought it was a prison yard. Thanks to the 20 coaches with barbed wire fence. Is that life? When a dog barks down the street at night, everyone on the street becomes acutely hypertensive. God forbid there is a loud bang at any gate at night, that one is real hypertension! Yeah, and this is where I want to live and raise a family under the guise of patriotism. I have to buy gas for my generator, dig borehole for water, dispose my trash, and at the end of the month, NEPA brings their bill, municipal council brings one levy or the other, water corporation brings their water rate. And I am supposed to shout....ELDORADO!!! Leadership is 20% of Nigeria's problem. The ignorant mass who think they are wise constitute 80%. Why? Because someone who stands for nothing falls for anything. Nigerians stand for nothing so fall for anything forced down their throat. As inter alia stated, if Nigeria is heaven on earth, just enjoy it. Don't take out your frustration on someone who opt not to subject himself to the psychological trauma called Nigeria. Just enjoy it! Nigeria is about the only place you work hard to make money, then you work hard to spend it by overtly and covertly. People keep praying not to go to hell when they die, and I ask: What hell? If you live in Nigeria, YOU ARE ALREADY IN HELL! |
Bros Flavour: We the entire people of Umunze, Orumba South L.G.A in Anambra are solidly behind you. You are the true son of the soil. When next you come to Beverly Hills, holler at your boy! Let's show you how we do it Cali style. |
What does high end sports car Ferraris, Porsche, Lamborghini, etc. have in common? MANUAL TRANSMISSION! There you have it. |
And i hope you never call yourself a Nigerian in the nearest future.. The real Nigerian always knows he's a Nigerian in bad and good times, especially bad times.... The real Nigerian knows what he was deprived of and figures out ways to make sure the future generations to come enjoys what he/she was deprived of... The real Nigerian is not a coward... The real Nigerian despite living a comfortable life always remembers that some of his fellow country people are suffering and draws out strategies to tackle the underlying problem.... The real Nigerian always draws close to his roots... The real Nigerian doesn't run away from his country. He/she only goes to a distant land to discover/gather/find the necessary tools needed to sharpen the blunt edges of his country.... The real Nigerian always uses the picture of the sorry state of his country as a constant reminder of what needs to be done... The real Nigerian is presently planning on how to make the future generations to come smile and never regret being called a NIGERIAN...KSlib Keep deceiving yourself. I was under the illusion that things could be changed in Nigeria. Trust me..been there..done that. There are three kinds of Nigerians 1) Looters 2) Wanna-be looters 3)Looted! People in classification(3) are aspiring closet classification(2) who are aspiring to classification(1). Still in doubt? Go back to all the government critics and find out what happens as soon as they become employed by the government in power...Every Nigerian (I mean every in every sense of it) is an Abati in waiting. NIGERIANS ARE COWARDS! A population where 1% controls 99% and keeps them in penury is a clear evidence of cowardice on the 99%. You will rather die fighting for Mohammed than die fighting against oppression. Constant reminder of what needs to be done? LOL.You are funny indeed! Denial is not a river in Egypt. Look at your roads, NEPA issues, police, politics...Do you still need a constant reminder of what needs to be done? Not all. You are all bunch of lazy, educated illiterates, for a lack of worse words. NIGERIA is what it is because some people are benefiting from the status quote Laughing in spanish!!!. |
Nigerians in diaspora are bitter because they can look around and see what Nigeria could be if her resources are judiciously utilized. As stated, "exposure bestows more wisdom than grey hair". Nigerians at home really have nothing to compare Nigeria with, as such can only compare out of imagination. Patriotism goes beyond one's country of origin. If your country treats you as an outcast, what moral obligation do owe her? In this day and age, Nigeria cannot boast of any single access road, clean water(even though surrounded by ocean), 24/7 electricity, etc. After several visits to Nigeria, I came to some realization that the place henceforth will be only a vacation spot for me...2 weeks in a year and I am out. Yes! They could have all the mansions. But what good are the mansions when one sleeps in them with one eye open? Yes! I am frustrated with Nigeria and I am not looking forward to claiming to be a Nigerian soon. That country has taken so much away from me and the rest of us. Period! Q.E.D. |
The good things about the churches---the MOGs preach, the audience listens...At the end, it is listeners' discretion to stay. So, there is no qualms |
Incentive to go this church: Guaranteed spouse!!! How can spinsters sign up? |
Alomo Bitters anyone? |
So these were the people that went around killing and maiming students in campus. These retired killers should be arrested. |
HURRAYYYYYYY!!!! So Nigerians will start enjoying guaranteed 24hrs power supply. They blamed power outage on low water level some months ago...Now that the water is overflowing...let's see what the next spin/excuse will be. |
Will your sponsors tag you with a monitoring device to make sure that you do not enter bus/okada in this journey? |
For everyone that sent enquiries about this SLK, check your email boxes. I have replied all. Take care. |
For Patience Jonathan, Oh Lord I pray..... robobobobobobobobo pepepepepepepepe popopopopopopo shin karababababababa!!! I bind and cast....popopopopo....bababababa shin kekekekekeke popopopopo bababab shin kara bababababa. Amen! |
It is all psychological. Just collect the "pay" and convince yourself that the babe is a witch. Assuming you wake up one day come hear say the girl don travel Yankee go marry. No contact, no yawa. What would you have done? |
I will dust that... ![]() |
Historically, there is a correlation between religious awareness and poverty. Only about 1% of Nigerians is religious, the rest is made up of bunch of losers, wanna-be scammers, poverty-stricken-but-hoping-for-divine-intervention, low self-esteemed, gullible, paranoid, ignorant masses. |
Photoshop! Where is the bottle of Ogogoro? |
I don't blame her sha. For Naija, babes dey dress well, dey form and mugu go dey drop. For US, nobody send o! May be, Ini don dey pool double/triple shifts as a nurse in Dallas so tey she don dey look like a typical Naija babe for Yankee. E be like say Ini Edo get "half-past 4" eye sef. Laughing in Spanish |
What a beautiful masquerade. Seriously, Ini Edo is beginning to look like yam. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible!!! |

May be it would be helpful if the anticipated policy changes are put up first, debated and the masses sensitized before any grandstanding. The President needs to take decisive action(s) anchored on sound judgment else it may be misconstrued as naivety. He needs logarithmic approach to governance. |
So all these noise is all about freaking text messaging using BB phones. I feel sorry for the Nigeria youth. No ideas, no motivation, no creativity...just hanging on to some end-user products to identify oneself. Thank God I have already made up my mind never to step feet in that country again. A mind is a terrible thing to waste. |

) to study.
