Can i offer you all drinks, i know you must all be very tired after your long stay in the Desert. The Desert can be a dangerous place you know. Don't go back anylonger.
@Fatherof2, you be baba! I hail oooo!

I like the invitation you extended to us, but the issues in this motherland has still not been resolved, I think seun owes us an open explaination as to why things degenerated to that quarrel last time. His keeping silent about it futher fuels that feeling that he is doing us a favour by hosting us.

I, for one believe that its a two way thing, mutual benefits (not the ins. company o) for we and him. His snail speed in solving problems or banning trouble makers calls for more action/reaction.

But we will like to see you Father of 2 at the other side, the flair, fun and flavour you add to this thread is second to none. Your CICO dribbling run displays has left many a goal keeper sprawling on the floor, while we stroll to the banks, smiling all the way grin grin grin grin We are awaiting your arrival at the other side, a visa is waiting for your collection at the embassy, a cessna is standing while the pilot is warming the engine, even a suite has been booked for you at the VIP section of sheraton, sorry the other side, with a dell laptop, perpetually connected to that forum website,  cheesy grin cheesy ; ;Dmy respects once more.

Is that someone mopped up today or what? Still at a loss on it ? but I am undecided on what to do against monday.

What do u think?
I think the high volume represents matching of supply to demand by peeps that has already gotten enough loot grin

My surprise was that it did a full rise today, monday will be interesting to watch.

I have just checked out the Stock Tips thread and did not see any recent spat. I guess the clampdown must have been due to the previous 'rantings' and trading of insults that took place 1 to 3 weeks ago. The clampdown is too late and unwarranted. The insultson the Sex and Romance forum are nothing comparable.

Hello people, am here at last. Lets continue from where we stopped. What do we do tomorrow, is there and chance that the public holidays will cause the market to rebound with a fury on teusday? (the holiday factor)

Which stocks will lead this upsurge, which stocks will likely continue their downward slide?

there is this worrying thing the book am reading now is telling me, it says to sell a stock immediately you discover it was a mistake buying it.

also says that you should stick to a -8% sell off rule huh after you buy, not to watch your money 'evaporate'

Ha, I hate losing money o, to tell me to sell and take a loss go hard o. how you see am?

I was looking for the "Bump and Run Reversal" stuff on my book shelf and found lots of info about it in a book I just bought which came out 2 weeks ago.Its titled "[red]Encyclopedia of Candlestick Charts " by Thomas N. Bulkowski[/red]

I also would like to share other books I own which I found to be very critical to my understanding about investing in the stock market (both in the FTSE/NSE).

[red]Fire Your Stock Analyst.  by Harry Domash [/red]  (I was introduced to this book by my friend the CEO of Proshare-compulsive reading)

[red]The Alchemy of Finance: Reading the Mind of the Market by George Soros[/red] (this is like a pyschoanlaysis of how the market behaves, the character of investors and the influence of fear and greed as motivating factors)

[red]How I Made $2,000,000 In The Stock Market by Nicolas Darvas[/red]

(Here Darvas (who was a dancer)  experience in stock trading goes through 4 stages-as a gambler, then as a fundamentalist, then as a technical analyst-developing his own “Box theory” then as Techno-fundamentalist.He made his money in stocks while he was on a 2 year tour around the world. He was sending coded telegrams to his Broker and prompted suspicion of espionage)

[red]Trading for a Living by Alexander Elder[/red]-(Interesting story how he left his job to start day-trading)

[red] One Up On Wall Street : How To Use What You Already Know To Make Money In The Market by Peter Lynch [/red] (Was forced to buy this book when I joined TICN; I had to learn how to trade in Options)

[red]How to Make Money in Stocks: A Winning System in Good Times or Bad by William J. O'Neil[/red] (and any other book by the author)

[red]"Financial Times" Guide to Using the Financial Pages by Romesh Vaitilingam[/red] (was asked to read the book by my ex-line manager -I also I heard my pastor mention the book when he accused Black folks of skipping over the financial columns in UK newspapers)

[red]The Warren Buffett Portfolio: Mastering the Power of the Focus Investment Strategy by Robert G. Hagstrom [/red] ( this is my main "bible" for fundamental analysis. It puts everything I ever learned into perspective.

[red]The Great Investment: Balancing. Faith, Family and Finance to Build a Rich Spiritual Life by T. D. Jakes [/red] ( The book taught me about how to balance my quest to make millions on the NSE/FTSE with my purpose in life. It also provided a platform for what I call "Inspirational analysis"-picking stock based on inspiration (don't try this at home)

You can share your own stock books too
currently I am reading 'How to make money' in stocks by William J. O,Neil.

I had read before; 'Buffetology' by Mary J. Buffet.

Buffet; the making of an Americal capitalist.

'Five Rituals Of Wealth' (forgotten the author)

'Fire Your Share Analyst (from the Moneywise group)

'Guide To Investing' by Robert Kiyosaki

'Retire Young, Retire Rich', 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad, 'Cashflow Quadrant', all  from Robert Kiyosaki.

Still searching for more to buy, only that they are simply not available around where I live.

In the long term, buying bank stocks seems the best option for bumper returns in the stock market. Pt no pot other sector is declaring the type of returns like the banks. Pt no pot other sector is expanding into many countries like the Nigerian banks. The operating environment is very much in their favor.

Right now, due to on on combination of factors, bank stocks are in low demand by investors seeking the 'quick buck'. In the long run however, some bank stocks will close this year in very high prices. We are getting close to seeing a N100+ bank stocks, especially if they reconstruct their shares. Some may not reconstruct but stop giving bonuses so as not to dilute thier earnings.

In conclusion, long timers should stay in bank stocks like 70%. This is my own submission.

One bad man (ritualist, 419, arm robber, pen robber, assasin etc) was watching telly in his upstairs sitting room with his young son one day. The first rain of the year was coming with its usual thunder, lightening, heavy winds, snow fall. it got so so loud and thunderous that the man became very afraid, he quickly raced downstairs, where he thought the house will not collapse on his head.

He started yelling the name of his son, "Sam, Sam, please run down from that house, the money I used to build this house, I don't trust it at all" grin grin grin grin

The moral of this story, bad thing no good. Make all your money from the NSE!

A very blind man was sitting beside a deaf/mute, begging for alms. A passer by dropped a big bill in the plate of the blind man, as the money was too big to be resisted, quickly the deaf/ mute snapped it up from the blind man's plate.

The blind man shouted 'you think I didn't see your hand'? 'just put that money down before I slap you'!

The deaf/mute asked, 'I thought you are blind'?

The blind man returned 'And I thought you were deaf and dumb'?

The passer by (a pastor) came back and said 'praise the lord, this is a double miracle'!

Mr. Risky:
This one is simply the simplest of all.  Just choose out of the options.  That's all.

On the run, you are desperate to get into a place of safety. Faced with the following options, which do you think is safe enough for you? a) A room packed full with deadly explosives which can give off in a matter of minutes; b) A room housing three dangerously hungry lions which have not eaten for three years; c) A room packed full with condemned criminals with lethal weapons ready to be used anytime against any new entrant.
on second thought i will go for the eroom with lions, since lions that are starved for three years will be very very dead! grin grin

I think I will choose the room with hardened criminals, since then are human beigns, I will play on their greed. Mr Risky just reminded me about Americans, now a 14 year old Nigerian born in USA visited this country with his dad. While at M/M airport, the boy ws observing things quietly. As they sat down waiting for a car to pick them up, the guy boy remarked that all the bad news peddled by CNN about Nigeria is false.

the father asked 'why do you say so?

the boy looked up and said 'there has been electric light in this hall since we landed here ten minutes ago, and CNN said the other day that power goes off after every five minutes in Nigeria?'

the dad was about to explain when, suddenly the light went dead and everyone around shouted 'up NEPA!

The dad swallowed his comments and led the boy away to the waiting airport taxi.
