On Sunday 10th December, the son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Leke Adeboye subtly mocked the leader of the Free The Sheeple Movement and On Air Personality at Cool FM Lagos, Daddy Freeze by thanking him for helping in the growth of the church that attendance in #RCCG, viewership of redeemed events and 'correct' tithing has increased since his campaign against tithing started. In response to that, Daddy Freeze challenged the son of the GO in the video he shared on social media to show the evidence to prove his claim. Leke Adeboye in swift response to this shared a screenshot of the numbers of people who watched the just concluded Holy Ghost Congress 2017 on 9th December, 2017 through Facebook Live. http://sumo.ly/KPkT

The man of God has tabled another prayer point to God by praying that "Every Lion, Goliath and Bear in your life will die tonight." The United Kingdom has asked the Federal Government to clarify the status and whereabouts of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu. The British government said it had asked the government if the British national was alive or dead. However, it could not be immediately ascertained if the Federal Government had responded to the inquiries or not. The Press Officer, UK high commission in Nigeria, Joe Abuku, stated that the inquiry followed reports that Kanu had been missing since September 14, 2017 when armed soldiers stormed his residence in Abia State. Abuku said this in response to questions from Saturday PUNCH seeking to know UK’s concern on the missing IPOB leader. “We are seeking urgent clarification from the Nigerian authorities about the status and whereabouts of Mr. Kanu, a British-Nigerian man, who has been reported missing since September 14,” Abuku stated in an email on Thursday. Asked if the UK would strip Kanu of citizenship on account of the declaration by Nigeria that he was leading a terrorist organisation, the mission said it does not comment on individual cases. “One of the conditions that can make the United Kingdom strip its citizen of nationality is if the person engages in a terrorist activity at home or abroad. And Kanu has dual citizenship and therefore a citizen of Nigeria and the UK,” the mission stated. When asked if the UK supported the Nigerian government’s proscription of the IPOB, Abuku stated that the group was not a proscribed organisation under the British law. “The Indigenous People of Biafra is not a proscribed organisation in the UK,” the mission spokesperson stressed. However, when asked if the group was free to raise funds or hold rallies in Britain, Abuku said he would need to get an official response on that, but subsequently declined to respond to the question. He also declined comment on whether the IPOB might be designated as a terrorist group or proscribed by the British authorities. Abuku said, “We do not routinely comment on whether an organisation is or is not under consideration for proscription. A decision to proscribe an organisation must be based on a belief that it is concerned in terrorism as defined in the Terrorism Act 2000, and it must be proportionate.” The United States had earlier said it did not consider IPOB a terrorist group and urged Nigerians to de-escalate tension and embrace peaceful resolution of grievances. Spokesperson for the American Embassy in Nigeria, Russell Brooks, had said, “Within the context of unity, we encourage all Nigerians to support a de-escalation of tension and peaceful resolution of grievances. The Indigenous People of Biafra is not a terrorist organisation under US law.” http://punchng.com/uk-seeks-clarification-about-kanus-status-whereabouts-from-fg/

A former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to stop being a sectional leader and take the moral high ground. Ezekwesili, who supported Buhari during the 2015 presidential election, urged the President to act as a true leader by showing love to all. The former minister said this in a series of tweets on Twitter while reacting to the recent deployment of soldiers in the South-East codenamed Operation Python Dance 2. She stated, “It is tragic that you, our President, Muhammadu Buhari, have deliberately or inadvertently alienated a segment of the people you lead. It is tragic.” Ezekwesili said it was wrong of Buhari to punish an entire geopolitical zone because of the actions of a few. She added, “The leader of a country cannot be friends only of those he/she likes. No. That is not leadership. The leader builds up groups. Not divide. You cannot lead only those that worship and swear by you. You are the leader. You must carry the burden even of those that detest you. “It is the lowest form of churlishness that is unbecoming of a leader to send signals that you dislike anyone of the groups you lead. A leader is a winner. When a winner acts like a loser, things go wrong in their kingdom. Real leaders build a bond with all their people. “Worst is when a leader makes enemies of most because he abhors the action of one or a few. That is not leadership! That is ethnic prejudice. A real leader does not suffer from the destructive disease of ethnic prejudice. It endangers his/her people and real leaders cannot bear such.” http://punchng.com/stop-being-tribal-leader-ezekwesili-tells-buhari/

The General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor E A Adeboye today posted on his official twitter account that "I can't be arrested because I won't kill with a gun or cutlass."
