Macjayboy: nothing special about this na..women wey dey carry all this small concrete in they head pan ..when it comes to filling a slab decking..men are involved Wrong. While praising an average Ijaw woman in presence of my Ijaw friend(male)for hard work;fishing all thru the night in canoe with baby at her back, mosquitos, cold and every danger associated with night and darkness, my Ijaw friend said he marvelled when he saw Warri women mostly Urhobos carrying concrete on their head and climbing makeshift ladder upstairs for the purpose of decking. Infact, it is still common till date in Delta state. I speak of what obtains tho in Warri and surrounding towns. |

Phones › Re: N1.04tn Fine: MTN Seeks Out Of Court Settlement by Irore: 5:41pm On Jan 23, 2016 |
Reportersgame: Telecommunications Company, MTN Nigeria, has said it is considering settling out of court with the Nigerian Communications Commission over the N1.04tn fine imposed on it.
On Friday, at the resumed hearing of the suit it filed to challenge the N1.04tn fine, MTN’s lawyer, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), pleaded with the presiding judge, Justice Mohammed Idris, to give parties 60 days to explore the option of settlement out of court.
But the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), who was sued as the 2nd defendant, told the court, through his lawyer, Mr. Dipo Okpeseyi (SAN), that parties had been finding it difficult to settle out of court.
He urged the court to take it that all the court papers in the matter had been properly filed and served and that the case was still ongoing.
“This is a matter of national importance. There have been concessions in the past and nothing happened,” Okpeseyi noted.
In his own reaction, counsel for the NCC, Mr. Yusuf Alli (SAN), argued that the maximum period allowed by the court rules was 21 days for parties to file and serve written addresses.
After entertaining arguments from all parties, Justice Idris adjourned till March 18 for report of settlement or for hearing in the case.
The judge also held that all processes filed shall be deemed as properly filed and served.
He held that all the preliminary objections and substantive application shall be taken together on the adjourned date if need be.
Justice Idris had on January 12, 2016 turned down an application of mareva injunction by the AGF seeking to bar MTN from emptying its accounts in 21 commercial banks in Nigeria, in order not to boycott N1.04tn fine.
The AGF had expressed the fear that MTN could move all its funds out of the country before the N1.04tn fine could be enforced.
He had sought an order directing all the 21 banks to open a special interest-yielding account in the name of the Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court and move N1.04tn into it from MTN’s accounts.
But in refusing the application, the judge said the AGF did not place enough material fact before the court to prove that MTN was making any moves to repatriate all its funds out of Nigeria.
MTN had filed the suit to challenge the N1.04tn fine imposed on it by NCC for its failure to deactivate its unregistered subscribers.
Among other things, the company contended that NCC could not act pursuant to Section 70 of its establishment Act to impose the fine on it, adding that it was not given fair hearing before the fine was imposed.
http://www.punchng.com/n1-04tn-fine-mtn-seeks-out-of-court-settlement/ I see MTN moving out of this country in less than 2yrs time with all this delay tactics of fine. Make FGN follow them bumper to bumper o,,oo. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: How To Answer ‘Tell Me About Yourself’ At A Job Interview by Irore: 1:12pm On Jan 23, 2016 |
GenoMI: Hi Jonathan – In a nutshell, the interviewer wants to learn more about your career goals and how the job you are being interviewed for fits into your long term plans. He/she wants to know how committed you are to your career, and even the organisation (in case they decide to hire you). So my advice would be to research likely career paths within your profession / the organisation (when you are doing your pre-interview preparation) and then craft your answer along those lines. I hope this helps – I will definitely be doing a video that goes into more detail very soon. I tot u wuld give us a clear answer as an example. This piece no bi am. Educate us or leave the page,Chikena. |

I hope he takes your advise and start training now but if selling weed is his calling as advised by some, he can decide to combine the two but neva think of Coach Oliseh inviting him to CHAN eagles because one gem smoker, gum chewing defender he experimented with in his game with Niger republic fumbled badly and quickly replaced by Oliseh at the early hours of the game b4 he gets anoda yellow card. Reason: Sign of his excessive intake of weed is so glaring on his face. Playing football at that level under the influence of drugs. Hope somebody will advise him and hope he gets delivered. |
