I will only assume that because electricity is hard to come by, Internet connection is substandard, and the price exorbitant, is why you never saw President Buhari say on CNN that the act of gathering evidence is tedious and the Prosecution wants to have a watertight case so that those who stole your Commonwealth dry and denied you proper education are successfully convicted.

The detained cousin of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Robert Azibaola, has urged a Federal High Court in Lagos to declare as unlawful any attempt by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to make him indict the ex-President.

In a fresh suit filed on Wednesday, Azibaola’s lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, claimed that any attempt to make his client indict the ex-President was a violation of Section 7 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, “which has outlawed the practice of arresting a citizen as ransom for the alleged offence of another citizen.”

Azibaola, who claimed to have been in the EFCC’s detention since March 23, is also, through Adegboruwa, urging the court to bar the EFCC from approaching any magistrate’s court to obtain any remand warrant extending his detention in the anti-graft agency’s facility.

The EFCC had reportedly detained Azibaola on the allegation that he diverted $40m through a company, One-Plus Holdings, which was awarded the contract of pipeline surveillance.

The EFCC had transferred him from Abuja to Lagos where it on April 22 obtained a warrant from a Lagos State Magistrate’s Court in Ikeja to remand him pending conclusion of investigation into his alleged crime.
But in the new fundamental rights enforcement action filed on Azibaola’s behalf on Wednesday, Adegboruwa contended that the EFCC could not rely on sections 293 and 294 of the ACJA to continue to detain his client.

He claimed that those sections of the law were designed for criminal offences such as murder, armed robbery, kidnapping and treasonable felony, which attract capital punishment for which the police would need time to await a legal advice from the office of the Attorney-General.

Azibaola, who claimed that he is being persecuted based on his blood relation with ex-President Jonathan, also accused the EFCC of having perfected the plan to keep transferring him from state to state in order to keep renewing the remand warrant to ensure that he was perpetually kept in detention.

He urged the court to order the EFCC to immediately charge him to court or release him if it was not ready to do so.

The suit which was filed on Wednesday has yet to be assigned to any judge and no hearing date has been fixed.

If the money is up to 95% of estimated loot by Dieziani, i will suggest Buhari accept d money and give her soft landing.

To me, d idea of treating everybody equally as justice does not exist on earth and does not also exist in Heaven.

It benefits Nigeria to collect the money and move on if dis news is true than wasting time and energy on court cases.

But if D federal govt believe d $2bn is too small, FG can ask her to return a higher amount FG believe is what she looted. And she should be given suspended sentence.

To me, it is a win win solution.

Atleast even if she doesnt go to Jail, she need suspended sentence banning her from public office and politics 4 life.

When you do any of these, then you can ask Goodluck (the hero of African democracy) to spend his money and time where and how it pleases you.

News filtered in a couple of days ago that EFCC had discovered new sets of evidence in the form of cash, establishments & properties linked to beneficiaries of the public purse pilfering which contained a deeply disturbing information..

A.M  Adesola Amosu acquired some properties, kept some cash in the bank (septic tanks as well) and like all well heeled individuals, he also desired top of the range health care services and any cost attached to its procurement is immaterial, The rich must be alright -- by any means necessary.

It is this belief & conviction that  impressed upon him a gap he could fill when he couldn't of what else to spend money on for the sheer hell of it, he got for himself, a state of the arts diagnostic centre in Lagos....

Unlike the usual run of the mill diagnostic centre, Amosu's centre owns an Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine, which costs anywhere from $500,000 to $2million depending on model, state & accessories.

An MRI machine is a medical equipment used in radiology, basically to take pictures of the processes deep inside the human body. It helps to make certain of great health condition or  pick up NEW or the DEGREE of any malady in any PART of the human body.... Not a few early stage cancer, tumors & heart diseases etc have been picked up by this machine , which treatment was quickly administered for & in turn prevented needless mortality..

Of all the allegations (revelations) flying around, this is the cruelest and most inhumane because not one single Air force hospital in the whole of Nigeria can boast of even a 3rd hand MRI because of the  unbridled greed of a few individuals...

The irony of this situation is that, AM Amosu sent some straight to their deaths and also aided in the process of arranging mass murder of a few hundred thousands so he could save some lives for profiteering purposes...
