There is a company named smartflow. They started atgs in Nigeria. The number of scams uncovered by deployment of atg when you can actually track the diesel in your facility tank.

The same way them dey divert petrol over border, they divert diesel. I have seen people in charge of base station security selling the diesel for the gen.

Naija grin
This was one of the reasons MTN gave their towers to IHS to manage.

The trendy word then was spillage. They will pour part of the diesel on the floor and claim it was spillage.

Im even seriously rethinking this business thing. Is it even worth it? FBN specialiased dollar fund as of today is doing 9% pa

If the Naira continues it's 20% yearly depreciation against the dollar, that's 29% interest pa without doing anything.

When you start compounding your returns, it gets more interesting.

How much person dey even make on the business coupled with all the headache and risks?

I heard Obasanjo in the 80s, 90s used to shoot workers at his Ota farms for stealing

People will ruin you. Me don remove hand from running any business in Naija

I once tried trucking. I sent Mack trucks paid for clearing not knowing that the agent I paid spent my money and was banking on another person to pay him for clearing so he can use for mine.
This agent I've used him for multiple shipment and even introduced people to him for business

He started giving me stories the computer at port is bad, their bosses traveled to Abuja

I had to send someone else who told me my trucks have been waiting clearing for weeks and started incurring demmurage say if I incur to some level, they will auctionthe truck. I had to pay another set of clearing fees plus demmurage to get my truck out. After clearing I got in touch with a soldier friend to handle him but my dad called me to let him go and leave to God cos if soldiers injure him na my family dem go still come meet.

Na so I leave am. Like a year later after new year he suddenly called me, I even thought he wanted to repay back. Na so he begin tell me say for some time his business has been very bad, he went to a pastor to pray and they told him that it's because he cheated someone who did him a lot of good and until that person forgives him. I chuckled and ask that what of the money you are owing me? He say he never get the money but I should forgive him

Can u imagine ? Sharing palliative rice according to polling unit….. is the rice dividend of voting?

There’s everything wrong with this whole sharing of palliatives sha ; it has never worked and will never work in this country . Whether it’s under an APC , LP or PDP led government , any form of sharing physical food items will never work out cos it’s greedy Nigerians that constitute all those parties .

A better means of transferring cash directly to the bank account of the selected vulnerable citizens would’ve been better . At least we now have Opay and palmpay that makes it easy for people to open bank accounts with just their phone numbers (which almost everybody now has one ) ; so the excuse of “not all Nigerians have bank account “ holds no water again
Trust me, not even that will work. And I'm saying it based on experience.

What will happen is that those in charge of making the transfer will flood the list with names of their cronies to pull out the money.

I was once called to submit 5 account numbers to receive one of those transfers. I was to keep a percentage for myself and return the remaining. I declined.

In my opinion, the greatest palliative they can give us is finding a way to reduce the exchange rate seeing as we are still heavily dependent on importation. This will greatly bring down the cost of living.

A lot of companies are really cutting cost. Where I work, most contracts with contractors are not just being renewed when it expires as we used to do.

They now do a downward review of prices before they bring out new contracts. If you no sign, they look for another contractor who will sign it.

Many are doing what is called "siddon-look approach" so all of us can suffer it together. It will be very difficult to get a common voice for any protest now.

Marketers are now mixing PMS with something for sustainability of their business, that's why fuel dey quick finish nowadays. Thats the only means of rationing this product available to them instead of tampering with the meter and the pump price.

Forex is bitting them in their A$$grin. Some of them are selling with no or very low profit margin. Before Xmas, petrol will hit #750-900,
Wrong sir. They are not importing fuel. Only the big players with access to dollar at the I&E window are importing fuel.

You can't buy dollar at the parallel market to import fuel simply because you can't compete with those who get it at the I&E window.

And with the reintroduction of subsidy, we don't know how far the government is willing to go to keep fuel at current price

Easy to see why.

Crude has moved from 78 dollars/barrel when 617 was announced to more than 100 dollars/barrel in recent times.

I don't think anyone is saying they are not paying subsidy. I just don't agree it has anything to do with the dollar to naira rate at the parallel market.

The rising price of crude is the main driver
