Too much bad nanny stories recently, nanny beating, kicking and stepping on babies, now kidnapping of three. Everyone be careful, the next incident of this nature might not end well, the heart of man is full of thorns. The government should do what it can to provide more job security and welfare for the masses. Perhaps this is not a reason for criminality because out of the number of poverty stricken people just a few might actually attempt this, but i bet many more contemplate such actions and could be easily lured by a little opportunity. |
My Jeep Liberty has been grounded for sometime due to a blown engine. The annoying thing is that for a car this age the engine still costs about N350,000. I have been waiting to put it back in shape but not quite decided how to spend that money considering the fact that I had spent a bit trying to put the bad engine in order. However I didn't go out to purchase a 2004 engine anyway but my mechanic stumbled on one engine from an accident-ed Jeep with a good price on it of N250,000 so it was a cheaper option for a good engine. I passed payments through him twice till it was N200,000 then I asked the engine to be delivered at his workshop closer to my office. When I set eyes first on the engine I knew immediately it was not the 2002 engine we were looking for. Because this was a vehicle torn to pieces and sold in parts the option of returning the engine was not my consideration. Thanks to a Jeep Liberty guru I met along my lines of trouble with the old engine, so I called him in from Aba on the 9th of April and discussed the options for modifications which involves the change of the crankshaft reluctor ring and timing sensor in the 2002 to the new engine. This process requires a partial rebuild of the crankshaft end of the engine. When we had gone through the details and a few YouTube videos work had to begin. It wall went well in detail and engine is running smooth now.

jascon1:Nooo now! |
Normal Nigerian incident photos. Where are the emergency services? We need that change now. |

olu4life:can some other persons really verify this? I am for any good news on this one. |
juman:Ibadan or Enugu, retire with your billions of Naira stacked away while in government, so you can pay mopol officers to guard your premises, regularly service your generators till they turn scrap, purchase diesel daily whether at filling stations or black market travel abroad for medical check-ups, stay in doors as much as possible watching beaches and other beautiful places on TV else you get robbed or kidnapped. |

He was not firm. Smiles too much and never spoke out the things serious minds wanted to hear from their president in times of crisis. |
Kbworld:You see! I think gifts like PDP bread, rice, etc were better o. You could even be asked to return things like umbrella, broom etc |
Eh he now! Afterall it was not a gift it was a bribe. |
Our politics has been so much about people other than what they will do when elected into office. Nigerians really don't care if they get anything or nothing from the elected government in the next four years. What are the growing generation learning from all this? |
All this is possible when you gather people in a few weeks and give them such sensitive assignment without the right training and motivation that will ensure commitment to the objective. |

If we all had a fair share of the "National Cake" even in our environment we'd be looking equally beautiful. |
Dannidom:ISIS cake? |
ronkiss:Its not normal but it happens. I lived with this condition for may years far older than your age but today its all gone. It will however give you some concern as you get older and begin to associate more. Some times peers help, sometimes its terrible what people around you can do or say. I can remember being branded the "piss-maker" in my secondary school days at boarding house, its also very embarrassing especially when this happens when u have a mere siesta. Some helpful tips that probably worked for me. 1. Understand your pattern of urinating and try to be conscious of it more especially when awake, it will slip into the unconscious and become like an alarm which of course other people have unconsciously. 2. less from 6pm if you are an early sleeper, then try to grab when this happens in your sleep, especially when you always wake up to find out you already did it. You will begin to catch your self almost at the end of it till you begin to jump off your bed at the start, eventually you start to get into control. 3. I used to ask myself every time I want to take a leak, is this a dream or real? Though this might be very tough but its about overcoming your serious unconscious state. 4. Try not to go to bed too tired. take enough rest. I used to get myself to work very late though. At sometime in school, i preferred to study at night, perhaps sleep in the most uncomfortable positions, not all that relaxed and covered up style. It helped me realize the discomfort of being pressed in my sleep. 5. I also realized that when I was making gains over the habit, it usually slipped through when I had symptoms of malaria or going to have a fever. This is when you sleep so deep at night and wake up late. So I ensured that I had my regular anti malaria doses to ensure I was on the right track. 6. You basically have to manage your life style and don't shy away from life's adventures, like going camping or visiting relatives on holidays, so you don't put yourself in a sort of comfort zone and loose consciousness again. 7. In everything pray about it. there is nothing superstitious about it though but prayer builds in you a bigger determination to succeed. |
olaolu39:This better be true. |
Did the "Burning National issues" emerge within the last week? The clock ticks! |
Do we have shemales or transgender people in Nigeria? |
wakag:Indeed! Is this a business venture?

Any photo of the maid? Please to everyone before you allow your house worker begin work in your house. take a photo of the person face and from both sides. Put it on your mail inbox in case you loose your phone or add to your face book photos. Don't be shy, its worth it. |
freecocoa:I agree but you cannot but help to feel sorry for the kids first. What a coincidence that the maid just worked a day and this happened. Some mis fortune. We cant say if she had permission to take the kids out after just first day at work. So i guess it has some prints of a bad plan. |
lonelydora:Me too by bro. My wife and I live alone with 3 boys. The first boy is 7years, the last is 2 years old. No maid. we once had a house worker for house chores. My wife takes full care of the children and never leaves them unattended with any one. Times are too baddddd. Innocent kids. |
blamelessly:ok |
If the parents are reading this, How did they engage this maid? who was a lead to recommending the maid or a guarantor. The person must be quizzed to provide all possible details about this maid. Posting a photo of the maid here will help. Can you say which city this incident occurred including area where you live or where the maid may have headed with the kids. God will intervene. |
wakacome:This is true. And will givea boost to security management too. |
Change is on the mind of many Nigerians today. However i know the first things on our minds as would be the basic things, infrastructure, Roads, electricity supply, water supply etc. But seriously some other things will impact our lives positively too. Police services and relations. Our police force needs to be more available for citizens, should be FREE, more friendly patrols, quicker response and independence on carrying out police duties or investigations and not depending on individual funding of police activity, even from the complainant. For achieving this, I think the police officer's training and job package needs to be improved on and more educated and qualified officers moved to serve the public. The package should be made attractive such that graduates should desire to serve in the force. All of the things to make police duty worth it for officers should be addressed. Education For long has been neglected though some governments have addressed the problem one way or the other, but quality of education will be improved not only by facility development but also by checking the conduct of students and school staff together. Public Complaints Commission I don't know much about this one, but if its what I think it is then it should almost be accessible to everyone willing to use it today. This should help check poor functionality of public services. Transportation I always wonder why Nigeria cannot have very functional city or intercity rail road system or other transport system. Many governments have tried to put transport systems in place but these efforts to me were not started by addressing the fundamental problem that might bring about sustainability. We need to see more secure transport systems operating on safe roads, within the states and interstate. If safer roads could link our states with streetlights and security, that would be a dream come true. Emergency services Police, Fire and Ambulance services should be improved and be available on call. With the support of a good public health care system and a well funded casualty unit in our hospitals maybe there could be more meaning to life. There should be some compensation for medical establishments who take up responsibility during emergencies or fatalities. and more. |
valarinz:I guess the socio-psychological revolution will require that we use what we have to correct the trend. Since more and more people are going online today. Nairaland has become a huge chat room, sort-of. Most Nigerian youngsters have no idea that things can be done better organized and with them in mind. Its a Jungle out here for all from their view. They have never seen things done differently and cant see anyone really trying to do it anyway, so...what do you expect. There is a great impact on our minds from what we see especially for youths still learning to live life from what they see on the streets, on the school campuses, on TV and the use of language. Using the same forum like Nairaland might be a way to send the message and try to change the orientation. |
Sagamite:yea, I do agree with you but I think we have to look at just what is necessary here to get the Job done. My brother with the number of people roaming the streets today, and more people joining the poverty list, its hard to comprehend the reality in all this. I wish the legislators worked harder to improve the lives of people and develop our society, Nigerians would give it all to them, we have a good society, patient and hopeful people, but time has run out for many who have waited for change for so long. This is the truth. |
Naughtysite:You are right bro. You can never tell anyone who wants to do the same thing you are doing just how to go about it all. Experience is the best teacher. |
valarinz:You find this attitude on business, technology and other positive/ educational threads. Then they become full of abusive wreck-less comments that don't further the discussion. |
