I believe there is something like weird foods, but I also think that food is good as long as the eater finds the combination enticing to his appetite. So is the idea at buffets where you are free to combine your choices of foods. However the only thing weird about foods combinations is where you might ignorantly get sick from your food combination. So guess what! Ugba and noodles with sausages and vegetables. This was what i felt like, this was what I ate.

In this photo Mandela is seen with the judge who sentenced him to 27yrs in prison. This single gesture made Mandela loved by mankind. What comes to mind is what he might have been saying to the man when this photo was taken.

Shouldn't the survivor be rather photographed in an ambulance heading for intensive care? |
My concern is not about my kid's school but rather at my kid's interest in learning. He is 3 yrs and 5 months old, and has no interest in identifying numbers or alphabets. However he can recite rhymes, say the numbers a bit above 1-10, he is very good with people's names but will not do anything when u ask him to. He will not concentrate when your trying to show him, he will shut his eyes and if you try to get him focus, he will cry. He also will not trace lines or connect dots or make meaningful progress to learning. |
This looks like some photos from Liberia, what uniform is this if I am mistaken? it it the police? |

Wonder why Nigerian advertisers do not like to tell the specs and prices along with their adverts, when this is expected to promote quick sales, competition and boost consumer decisions. Dealers should be bold to peg a profit range for their products and tag it with a price. |
I think the fabric design and colors would refleft "GHANA MUST GO" and appeal more to a lot of people. The designer or creator didn't need to use the bags to make the cloths. But for shoes or boots I think the bag polythene material or plastic will be just right. |
The truth is that the country is not doing what we need done to stamp out or discourage CORRUPTION, ARSON, MILITANCY, ROBBERY, KIDNAPPING, TERRORISM, DRUG PEDDLING etc. I agree with the man in a way, I do not think that he has said or proposed senseless killings. But if you are the President of a so so corrupt nation like Nigeria, and you really are serious about reducing the rate of corruption from what we see today (alarming rate) then you must be ready to set a different psychology in the minds of Nigerians. The President should be able to take the toughest decisions in the interest of Nigerians, even if it means going to war. So jailing or execution of persons found guilty of looting the country's funds at the rate we hear everyday is like going to war against corruption and with that, people must be dealt with or killed. Nigeria cannot keep losing billions of Naira to some individuals all the time and no news about their recovery later. And soon most of the time, these people get back to public offices or active politics or just settle and live their lives on the billions looted. I would jail or execute these people if I was president, to ensure that very stiff penalties are met by those found guilty no matter who they are will send a strong message especially to Nigerians growing to understand our country. When you are a president in a country where people are dying daily through these means you have to act like the captain of a ship and place your life on the line. If democracy doesn't teach this soon, we may slip back into the hands of the military or a revolution, who will definitely do it. And trust me when that time comes, the common man on the street will support and hail this all the way. lets not think we are an island living in a different world from Libya, Syria and other countries that have had troubles lately. lets not wait till the day the string holding our patience will snap. lets make hay while the sun shines. Our youths are learning the wrong things everyday, glorifying these vices as a way of being tough or "making it". It's in their minds now and has taken over attitudes. Government do not care for people and people may soon not care about government. |
My greatest concern is the manner which the govt and security agencies choose not to act decisively against these acts of terrorism in Nigeria. When Kidnapping started to raise a head in the Niger delta, it was mainly seen in the oil industry, a move by some people to make quick money holding foreign nationals, and getting paid for their release. No move was made to curb this and punish offenders. Now kidnapping is almost everywhere and can happen at anytime and has become an easy method of reprisal or just for those aiming to extort some money from family or enemies. Robbery, email scam, kidnapping, Bombing have not been given the punishment and actions they really should be given. Mostly today you can see around public figures, who have made a name starting from one of these crimes against Nigerians. Lets watch this trend of glorifying suicide bombing, because its only going to make things worse in the future. Here we see a parade of a suspected suicide bomber arrested with explosives and gadgets (confirmed intention to kill or commit anarchy), no anti-terrorist guns seen, no policemen with body armor guarding the suspect. His eye glasses still neatly hung to his shirt. Meanwhile the police in Nigeria will intercept a driver for mere wrong parking on the road and the first thing is to slap and beat the person. Who is fooling who here? After this parade we will see not trial. I want to bet 5 million Naira on this. |
This guy isn't a suicide bomber. Maybe the BH boys are demanding the release of someone held by the SSS & SSS simply want to show off someone else to cun BH. Probably a psychological game on Nigerians, or someguy who has heavily been paid to stage this show. Why is he given this presidential parade with cameras etc. I thought suicide bombers should be treated like robbers and assassins? How come the guy is not tense he looks like he is getting directions from the SSS guys as what to do. Scam! |
PHCN is the most fraudulent, service dis-oriented body in Nigeria. Majority of Nigerians are all just contributing money monthly to this unknown body to unknown accounts. This is the only agency in the world I know that charges for services not provided and people just pay helplessly so that if they do provide the service for 1 minute day you will be part of it. turn off all your switches, leave your home for a month, come back, you get a bill. Its crazy and no one is doing anything about it. I wonder when the government will save Nigeria from this Ugly situation which is "next-bad" to the police force. It is still run by non professionals or experts because I think professionals and experts like to see their services working out. |

The Nigerian system was incapable of bringing Justice. Ibori has been jailed in another country for us. If he got 1year, its what we couldnt do!! Nigerian govt should prove to us all that this was truly a crime against its people by bringing Ibori back to serve life in Nigeria after his 13yrs jail term if they can. He might come back if he makes 15yrs and become a ruler instead. |
who is listening? |
Al-Qaeda or Boko-Haram.....plz..........wait!............this is too much for me..... |
Did these people contribute money to set up their own orientation camp or someone in the NYSC received money from these people and asked them to report at an orientation camp which they did. The proper thing to do would have been to track the scammers, disband the camp and send these people home, of course verify how each of the fake corp members got there. Why are we not seeing pictures of the illegal camp just people who were arrested? |
Apart from guidelines for setting up schools in Nigeria or the nanny issue, Drivers in Nigeria are very untrained. Driving schools are not accredited, no one asks to see qualification tests for drivers in public service or commercial drivers. police drivers are ruthless and careless tanker and trailer drivers are the worst. This is what the road safety commission should be focusing on these days. The driver of a school bus needs to double check with any assistants that the vehicle is completely vacated by any passengers or persons before moving off. There should be special purpose mirrors installed to allow checks before driving off, these are very simple regulations with training that could prevent a recurrence of this kind of accident. May the girls soul rest in peace. |
Lets speak the truth, how many hours do you have Muslims so called call to prayer, in 24hours? I am a christian and I think the doctrines have greatly derailed from what it is supposed to be and there isn't a christian council to guide and correct or sanction what churches are doing today. Then answer this, how many times in a day or how many days in a week do the loud microphones come on if you live close to a church in your area? Churches and speakers actually became popular some 20yrs back or so, many churches did not do this in the past. But with very huge worship centers, I can understand the need but if they are really for your congregations outreach within the church i am sure speakers can be installed within that can boost the church service or session without greatly disturbing neighborhood. These days even churches occupying small spaces for service or worship, will turn on microphones into excessively huge amplifiers and speakers, and their untrained keyboardist will play on the keyboard to his own pleasure not minding the singing tune or rhythm. Then the issue of turning on the mic to "speak in tongues" is another issue before dawn, or at late night prayer. Lets be frank with ourselves, this is greater noise. God himself doesn't require that much noise to hear us. Muslim's call to prayer is traditional i think. Churches need to control what they do cos its all gotten out of hand. The government has a duty to promote sanity, and the churches should come together and regulate this methods. However government too should act so it will not be seen to close places of worship but to curb excesses of noise pollution. |
I hope the Nigerian police are considering training officers fast to cope with this all new trend. And consider getting the Bomb disposal squad some of these suits.

The most popular board game?, DRINKING BEER, the winner has the most empty bottles. |
I think as Nigerians, we know ourselves very well. As people who want to make an issue out of everything. Rationally or ignorantly. The posts on NL to me do not indicate any divide in our nation, so no one should imagine that it is the case. Most of the time some "true talk" are mentioned in our threads. I believe some NLs post some rude things for the fun of it. Only to twist the thread and it always does a good job messing things up once the replies start coming, but what can we do? Honestly I think it would have been better if we could use our threads as a tool for positive "mind rubbing". NLs must adopt methods that allow us discuss issues than abusing. |

This is the sort of thing Nigerians will emulate from the Arab nations, slaughtering humans and bombings. we wouldn't prefer to emulate technology, building aircraft, chip making and refineries. This is not new for Islamic terrorists so they are doing this to tell themselves they have arrived. the guy was probably drugged or beaten to hell cos he was not even struggling or he is one of them who has been told that's the quickest way to get to the virgins. Can a true sane Muslim interpret for us all the chanting in the video please. |
This is starting to make sense to me, I think each of the aide represents each million liters of petrol consumed daily in Nigeria. 32 Aides for 32 million liters, brilliant!!!!! |
Which of BOKO HARAM demands are we willing to give into as a nation. Is it not seeking to arrest the Christmas day church bomber? UN office bombers? Or are we going to abolish western education in the north? Are we going to make Nigeria an Islamic state? Is the president looking to negotiate a "cease bombing" deal with Boko Haram? under what concessions will Nigeria negotiate this deal? I think that where this crisis is different from the Niger Delta issue is that, Boko Haram is not clearly identifying itself with any National Development issues. I am not saying that acts of terrorism in any scale should be justified especially where it has lead to loss of lives or destruction of property, non of this can be a justified approach by any group for putting forward their demands. But Boko Haram members have been seen to infiltrate the country from outside Nigeria and therefore they are not Nigerians. And if its a progressive demand by some Nigerians, why does it have a religious tag on it? I think we need to rethink whatever strategy the government of GEJ is pursuing. Because anything that will compromise Nigerians true position on this, will certainly send a wrong message to the rest of the world and certainly will make Nigeria look like we are scared of the Boko Haram. And their attacks more daring or decisive. Our president must acknowledge that if this group has a way, they would make a move to assassinate him. This is very true because I don't see them restraining themselves at such high value target as Mr President, by not planting bombs in any venue the president would visit in the next few months. |
GEJ will be making a big mistake if he goes ahead to discuss or negotiate with terrorists. You cannot attack and negotiate at the same time. But this people will not stop their attacks. Even if any talks begin. Its very clear what they say they are fighting for. That their members should be released, unconditionally. But how does that justify the killings? We made a mistake of amnesty in the south, tolerating terrorism from the militants, this brought about kidnapping which we are yet to wipe out or overcome. That also lead to the Boko Haram menace growing in the north. Are we going to start another amnesty program for Boko Haram? Another group will simply emerge soon after. |
Do Nigerian Police officers have files containing any info on them which should be viewed by the presidency before making such appointments? or they are Just picked based on seniority or position. |
