Something seems to be on the loose here, I guess we should all run for cover, right??
You are reigning queen in Nairaland, REIGN! Your majesty Ivynwa kneels on one knee and greets Ezenwanyi i ga adi ndu ruo mgbe ebighi ebi (Our Queen you will live forever) Our mighty warrior! We hail thee!  grin kiss grin kiss wink

Whatever trappings of life or whichever non-village/city you live in that have your head so swollen that you have no respect for anybody, know that Life is transient and that that which you have today may not be there tommorrow. It is true that I love children much and have shared here how much I want to have them yet being married and having children are not the all in all in Life neither are they the crowns a woman gets out of life. A girlfriend of mine died single some years back and a female relative have died leaving her children behind, none of these two got some prize or got reprimanded at the end of their lives for having children or not having children.

Life was going on nice and sweet when we all came into the world and when we depart we will not have the children, husbands etc we had in tow. What should matter is how positively we impacted the world we met, find it in you to have a heart for the pains of others. You are adding salt to the injury of another by laughing at a woman that is unhappy in her marriage and mocking her that she is begging for sex. Some weeks ago an unhappy single lady sought advice over her finances and having to help her boyfriend solve some financial problems and you came into the thread and announced to the world that the reason she is helping her boyfriend financially is because she is desperate to be married by him.
What is the essence of this forum if people can no more share their worries and seek advice from their fellow being because they get mocked by people like you.

Who is following you around in Nairaland? Myself that is busy and is almost inactive here nowadays. You are the one that have a penchant for badging into my thread to create a scene, the last time I checked the moderators had to delete the curses you heaped on 190 in my thread because they were too raw for the cyber world. A married woman that goes about fighting everybody, you can fight all you want but don't disgrace us all before foreigners. I will not allow you draw me out of myself, quarelling is no vice of mine Sweetie, so go ahead and quarrel.
Family › Re: Husband Slapped Me Over An Argument by Ivynwa(f): 1:29pm On Jan 23, 2011
I am not surprised at this, I know that only a person with behaviours you display can stoop to booing at people about the things they shared in this forum. I am not stooping to your level dearie. It's nice that all you have on me is that I am not married and I am not ashamed sweetheart, I am a woman and can't go pay a man's dowry okay Baby. When God deems it right, he will bring the right person for me.

Stop acting all belligerent here in nairaland, you are not some female warrior or something. How can people come to forums to air their problem and you start fights with them, a mother like you. Don't think you got to me with those your words because you didn't, I am happy for you that you are married, have your kids and does not live in a village I am categorized (is something wrong with living in a village if I do live in one?? I wonder at you dear).  I guess you are thinking that it's only Nigerians that live abroad that are good enough to speak in this forum.
The same you that said all kinds of unprintables in this forum to a woman because she mentioned "menopause" to a single lady, the same you is here feeding it down my throat, I guess it's a bid to hurt me but guess what?? I will get married and cuddle lots of babies too and when that happens, I will come here to bless the Lord!! Alleluiah somebody  grin grin grin Somebody shout and make some noise for me! Glory!Hosanna  grin  grin grin
Don't make the mistake of thinking that you are better than the single ones because you are married.

I have said what's on my mind to you and that is what matters, don't constitut an authority unto yourself and be laughing and abusing people when they come here with their problems. I am not quarreling with you, you seem to delight in that. Go on and say what you like but remember that no condition is permanent in Life.
Family › Re: Husband Slapped Me Over An Argument by Ivynwa(f): 1:13pm On Jan 22, 2011
He-he the epistle was indeed long yet heart warming and it's nice to know that some name-calling ones took the time to read the sweet epistle and take the message therein, little wonder it struck a cord and made them stoop lower to calling their fellow beings "animals".  I can't believe that one can still act this unrefined, raw and undiluted in this age and time and a lady at that, whoops!
Anyway let me not be dragged down that low. The epistle sure is a lot more benefitting than the insensitive remarks, abuse and insults of a full blooded woman that calls herself mama mmadu (mother with kids) and goes about obodo naira with careless remarks in the name of being fearless and speaking the truth, Alleluiah somebody! Somebody praise the Lord for me right now, glory to God!  grin  grin  grin

Friend quit going about nairaland looking for fight, quarrelling, abusing and hurting people. There are nice ways to speak the truth raw and undiluted while respecting and being sensitive to the hurting hearts of other people. It seems everybody has known that reputation long before I am beginning to realize it which is why nobody is mentioning it, I just spelt it out without minding that the classless weight is about to be thrown upon me (or has already even been) because I know that more unprintable names may soon be directed at me but you know what I don't give a damn girlfriend. An unhappy foreign woman comes here to seek advice and consolation, is here spilling her unhappiness and she is getting booed that she is begging for sex, what manner of adult displays such behaviour?

Who made her the quarelsome queen of nairaland or did she enthrone herself people?? Some Queen indeed!!

You made great effort in putting your words together and did sound a bit convincing but I am not convinced dearie. You sound like a young man writing some book and trying to get reactions of your storyline from us all. Anyway that is what I think and that is not really important, what is important is for you to know that you are doing a heinous thing if you are really real and that you need to find your will where you kept it and muster it enough to stop that.

Do yourself a favour and delete those parts about your eldest sister leaving in Lekki, your only brother leaving in PH etc (you know those give-away parts you have written down for all here) lest they blow this your secret right to your sisters' dinner table for you, that is if you are really for real.
Family › Re: Husband Slapped Me Over An Argument by Ivynwa(f): 5:38am On Jan 22, 2011
Lots of thanks to the compassionate Nairalanders who understood the plight of the poster, really felt for her and advised her rightly. Poster some advise were hard for you to assimilate because you are of a culture different from ours but it's very modest of you to have accepted your mistakes when you had them pointed out to you. While reading your responses you struck me like an intelligent woman who could hold her own at 25 yet you shouldn't overdo things, one thing I have realized that softens the hardest of hearts and brings smiles to others is SOFT WORDS and some modicum of humility.

You are right to some extent in standing your ground but this is your marriage, this is your husband too. You shouldn't allow minutes and hours and days to come and pass you two by because you want him to apologise to you. It isn't everybody that offends one that agrees to apologising and if he refuses to apologise should that be the end of the two of you? You have to tone it down a notch, I bet that with some level of humility and tender loving care that you will have him putty in your hand and even apologising in no time, that kind of silence and truce you have right now will not do you guys good at all. You need to quickly and very sweetly initiate a make-up because you are a woman, your home is in your hand to make or mar. Go build up your home before it comes crumbling down sweetheart.

You seem very sexually frustrated and it is very honest and open minded of you to lay bare your heart and hurt to us all which also makes it disgusting and reeks of the worst taste on earth for another woman to have the heart to mock, insult and say unprintable things to you here, do ignore such if possible. You have all the advise that you need here already. You need patience to work on the sexual aspect of your marriage and you should be careful and not hit the ego of your husband, which may even tune him out totally from wanting to have intimacy. A person that is not versed on a subject can only learn through careful tutoring and encouragement, not by letting your frustration seep out or venting it.

Take the advice you got here on that seriously. Seek avenues that can build up his sexual knowledge practically and otherwise, bring in the intimacy educating movies for you two to watch and initiate discussions (at the appropriate time when he is rested enough to give you attention) that can enable you two communicate your sexual preferences. How about him? Are there sexual stuffs he likes to do that you yourself do not agree to that may be making him unhappy too? You two just got married and are just starting out on a journey to explore and learn how to pleasure yourselves, you need some endurance and tolerance. I also recommend marriage counselling like somebody already mentioned, he will get the message right from the counsellor that it is not right for him to satisfy himself and leave you unfulfilled. He may be thinking that the pleasure of sex is mainly for the man like a lot of people wrongly think.

You two should tone down the seeming equal egos with yours some notches down the scale cause you are the woman and he is your man, you have to be respecting him and must never slap him. He must never slap or get physical with you too which is why I understood why you are not finding that funny. If more women make a little effort to send the message home to abusive spouses that they cannot condone violence, lives will be saved really. You did GREAT in standing your ground but you have to still be FEMININE and LOVING while sending across that message and not be BELLIGERENT about it. Some people summarize it all in this simple statement that says that "YOU STOOP TO CONQUER"

@all
Please is it right for people of other nations who admire the intelligence Nigerians display in this forum to come and share their problem here as well as seek advice and have some people insulting, abusing and making fun of them? What with this habit some people have of throwing some classless weight they think they have on the sensitive threads of others and unfeelingly mocking and throwing words at them. It is very DISTASTEFUL and DISGUSTING. Let us acommodate and even when we must give harsh advise, it can still be done respectfully. We can't advise like adults and behave like malicious and fight-picking primary school children like some are exhibiting here. Where can any human find the heart to be throwing words at somebody that is hurting like this poster. It beats me really.

What's causing all these hullabaloos? Who gives to who and who takes from who in a relationship? Alright people let's take the genders off the equation and view the situation again and what do we see?
Two humans that are friends and are merely helping each other get through unpleasant stuff, ain't?
If you truly love a person, you will have no qualms about sharing what you have with the person, you also can't sit and watch the person go through a bad situation you know you can afford to ameliorate . There is nothing wrong with helping a friend, be it man or woman. What I don't agree with is her putting her account in the red in order to help which is not good for her as a lady. I will also not advise a lady to keep helping and forever shouldering a man who refused to work hard for himself, she should only watch it and make sure it isn't a habit of his lest he becomes a liability to her.

It doesn't make a man less of a man that his woman helped him put some pennies together to save a situation, it did not change the fact that the man is the man therein and she the woman. Poster did not tell us that she is now the one playing such manly duties as protecting the female and caring for her as a woman should be cared for. Nobody has dismissed chivalry in men here yet. I am surprised that this simple act of asking for NL's opinion has degenerated into her getting labelled "the desperate single girl being charitable just to cling to this man who promised to marry her". It shows the depth of some unnecessary unwritten notions and belief that the Nigerian society has ingrained in most of us really because this act of kindness will not be viewed like this in some other societies. I have come to understand that with such notions in the heart of some of us Nigerians that Nairaland is not a place for one to air an iota of one's problem, heart's desire, musings, troubles. They are better kept to oneself lest you have some unfeeling Nigerians with certain mentalities add salt to your injury.

Poster it is a good thing that you will be getting your salary soon, talk out your unhappiness with your man. Love him as much as you can and do more through advice and encouragement to help him get a job good enough to bring in some money for him. Don't let some undiplomatic statements in this thread of yours get to you. I am sure that you have learnt your lesson like me which is that when you are not married, the Nigerian society is very quick to nose down any move you make and even every breath you take. I wish you happiness in your relationship.

Ivynwa nods at Chika98 and says
Yeah girl, seems things moved too fast but nobody is blaming anybody cause love gets us all tingly and unreasonable most times.

@Poster
Me thinks you two need to give each other more patience, more understanding of each other may create a more peaceful bond that can help you two relate better. Nobody is perfect, as you gets to know more and more of your partner as each passing day unfolds her to you, it is left for you to know whether you can bear with her here and there and be able to spend forever cosed up with her. You seem to be giving up too quickly. Again should you two finally make back up and begin to agree, that part that involves her momsie should be modified or she will keep manipulating her. She needs to know that she needs to back off and let you guys be what you are: Adults!

Come to think of it you mentioned not wanting to settle yet but is doing that cause you love her and want to make her happy. Marriage is too a big deal for a man to go into just to make a woman happy, it suppose to be what YOU really want to do or you may be whining, sulking and singing her that particular line that "I made a mistake and is here because of you now see what I am getting"  grin  grin

Take your time man, we ladies naturally long much to settle down partly because of the complicated hormones nature gave us that gives us great yearnings like baby fever, the lovey-dovey feeling, the mother-hen feeling of wanting to love, care for our family and spouse etc but that is no reason for you to get all gentlemanly and want to settle when you are not ready. I want to see this sister settled and happy with her heart's desires though but we are all better off happy in marriage than frustrated and wishing for the good old single life. She is also better off with a man like you that loves her but loves her to the point of wanting very much to make her his wife because he wants to not because she wants to.

I agree that friends should be there for each other in good times and rough times whether married or not, there's no condition that is permanent in Life. There are times even the strongest, richest, most capable and harworking of all men runs short of money and can do wt such help from his partner. Out there and far out from home, we should be one another's keeper.

You are not doing wrong in supporting him and it is wise as some ladies have already mentioned to help the man get a source of income like help him get a job, talk to work places on his behalf, help him with business initiative, encourage him and even support him financially and other wise just to see him be able to stand on his feet and be able to handle his financial affairs. A mature man that can't handle his financial scenes (ie is unable to use resources around him, work hard and even manage the little or much he makes) isn't attractive to women at all. It's a thing of joy that nowadays women go out there and make great lives for themselves without waiting for men to grow moneybags and come and affect their lives positively. In a situation like this a woman should render support if she can afford to do that until the man gets back up but if it is the type of man that wants to stay down, makes no effort to up and better his life or take good advise and the support to help him get on his feet then a woman should not let herself be dragged down that road. A man that comes into a woman's life should help her be a better person not add sorrows and unhappiness and stunt her growth.

Poster your boyfriend doesn't seem like a lazy man though, be patient while supporting him but don't put yourself in financial difficulties to do that too because home is far and you are a lady and should avoid putting yourself in such vulnerable position as putting your account in red. You sound unhappy for doing that already and I think you should let him know how you feel before it trickles down and affects your relationship. If he is as nice as you made him sound he won't want to see you be unhappy and in difficulty all because you have the good heart to help, discussing it may also ginger him on towards striving harder at things to honestly make a few pennies here or there and not rest on his oars. I don't see why some posters should be like "you mustn't give him a cent". If you didn't help him he may not be succeeding with that Visa now and would have been sent out of the country, should we watch our brothers and sisters suffer out there in the diaspora when we can rally round them and support them just because of the thinking that a man should have his bag full of money all the time.

I don't also see how the simple act of this poster asking us our opinion on her situation and that of her BF has made her desperate. Why is it that each time an unmarried lady comes close to sharing her heart with us all here in NL, some people (and surprisingly the married ladies that should feel for their fellow women) will start shouting "desperation right in her face with no atom of respect. Please can I use this medium to ask the Nigerian society why some members of the society have no respect for unmarried ladies?
It is such disrespects that make some women marry any kind of man to get respected. Some unmarried ladies actually have suitors around them that they can marry if they are desperate in the first place but are simply  being careful so as not to get into marriage and be unhappy and when such ladies come here to share their unhappiness and get advice, let's learn to give them understanding and respect and quit these shouts of "blue desperation".

Your designs are great but the trade name cashdrunk isn't as it is a bit of a negative word. I'm a typical Nigerian lady reared by very modest parents. I can't claim perfection  because I am nowhere near it but I can carry my shoulder well to say that I am a modest person yet I love to club simply because I love music and love to chill out in that blaring-music atmosphere of a club. I love to dance too.

I go to clubs when I can find time yet I have never been drunk in my life(I can't imagine losing control of my senses,I will never put myself in that condition). I am not into alcoholand only take it once in a while and it gotta be minut too. I try to avoid Alcohol because I love my body natural and untainted. Strip clubs are not my kind of thing too, I have never been to one either.

I really don't agree that going to clubs makes one bad. Good people go to clubs, I have once met and befriended a responsible married mother of one in a club when she came clubbing with her sister. Couples, friends go clubbing, does that make them bad, what is that thing we have against the single, free and enjoying their lives that make us point fingers, paint pictures of goodness and badness. Who is perfect among us? I don't think that fondness for music and socialization should be negated in the scale of such judgement. More important virtues like decency, honesty should be on that scale. Just what I think.
Romance › Re: Marriage With A Nigerian Man by Ivynwa(f): 10:38pm On Jan 04, 2011
I don't understand the effrontery of some of us, it is okay to advise your fellow lady and tell her that a lot of people have experienced so and so and that she should be careful but to make up your mind about somebody you never met and cry foul, decide what category the young man belongs to for him, tell poster to her face that she is being preyed on and make careless talk with it (even when there is a likelihood that it is not as you think) doesn't seem very appropriate. This poster has dignity, people!

A 37 years old young man that has a child, has lost a wife may be very mature and cool headed enough not to attach much importance to all that we are recounting here like male children etc. In his heart he may be too overwhelmed with her to bother with such things and may have the understanding to agree to them adopting or even him acommodating her own children. The fact that he didn't take himself to Europe to have met her in the first place does not make him unlovable and unable to love and care for a woman from his heart, in order words the Nigerian man that had the opportunity to travel out and meets a wonderful lady there is not truer and more honest than a Nigerian man who found his wonderful lady over the net. (A friend of mine met a lady over the net while he is here in Nigeria, they married and are living very happily in America and that American lady was very lucky because that young man is a precious and rare breed). The fact that they met on the net is the same if they met on the streets of poland or on the streets of Dakar. Like Justwise said "It doesn't matter where people met, what matters are the persons that met.

I understand that some Nigerians have really damaged our reputation but we shouldn't generalize to a point that most of such relationships are considered null and void. When I made my first comment I wasn't sure whether she is married to him and advised her that she first settle the issue of children and be sure of his honesty beforehand. I had to edit it a bit on reading that they are already married. We don't tell an already married woman that she is being used especially when we have no evidence to prove that. All we can do is wish this sister happiness and tell her to work on her marriage and enjoy it as Shy-one is telling her.

All in all Freddiegirl know that we all don't want to see you hurt again which is basically why most people here are that concerned about you. You don't get married and come and ask us whether it will be a happy one as you did in your post. Get your confidence on okay and be positive about it.You are already in it and we can only wish you happiness dearie. It is going to be a happy marriage, none of us is perfect to a T.
Damn that some bleeped up cheese you got!
If it was American men or Uk men that married an older woman usually they are younger men marrying older women and most of them are sugar babies. A VERY FEW OF THEM actually love them old hags.
But we are talking about AFRICAN MEN and I don't care how many FUBU and Sean John apparels they wear you can't take AFRICA out of an African man. They will still be some low down sommamishes and the fact she got a buncha children too. Hmm. Hell, African men ain't really going after women with too many children and older women when they don't have sons.
Did I mentioned AFRICAN MEN LOOOOOOVE BOY CHILDREN?
The quotation above is by you including many countless ones that can be seen in these threads below.

Stop using undignifying words on people, that's all we ask from you. How can you keep nosing people down like that? If I said that your mouth is dirty, I am not calling you names because it is so. I am not just talking, I am not the only person that finds that ugly as we all know. Let's be nice and decent to ourselves not bring down people.
Politics › Re: Buhari May Just Be The Perfect President We Need In Nigeria At This Time. by Ivynwa(f): 1:19am On Jan 04, 2011
Did somebody say that Buhari is sick? I didn't know about that and never talked down on his age or sickness, or any politicians age. I can't be found doing that at all. May God or Allah (whichever one Buhari believes in) heal him.

You mean Ribadu is contesting too? I didn't even know that (I did lose interest in politics with this zoning/tribalistic politics). I was just mentioning names, Oga Kobojunkie even you yourself agreed that Ribadu eradicated corruption some.

Kobobaby I don't do argument much more political argument. No , I don't but do know that that woman Dora has fought a great war against fake drugs in Nigeria which is a dangerous branch of corruption that has killed many. She fought that to the detriment of her life as known Pharmacists, drug sellers even tried to kill her and shot at her. She miraculously escaped that, somebody that has laid down her life to stamp out such wickedness and evil has a conscience, somebody that has worked like Ribadu (who also tasted bitter waters at the hands of the corrupt ones) has a conscience and that is what I am talking about.

Note that I am not campaigning for Ribadu, we Nigerians have suffered enough to decide for ourselves, we don't need to have people dangling themselves in front of our eyes to vote them for them to pack all the resources and store for themselves and their children's children and buy houses, properties etc for women that catches their fancies when a Nigerian child can't afford free education.

If putting a person (who matches on the dignity and essence of my people) in her right place is being mean then there is a good to being mean after all. How do you guys bear her disgusting foul mouthed e-presence?

I am not keeping quiet and watching somebody who feels that she is better than others talk down on Africans.
