Forget Anichebe?? o_O He was twice any player fielded today. I almost screemed when Lars decided to withdraw him early in the 2nd half. Ike Uche isn't the same Ike Uche that steamrolled France's defence a year ago. He has barely recovered from a 7 month injury. He wasn't outstanding today. ![]() |
You are right. The team that played today with the 4-4-2 formation won't go anywhere. But starting with Odemwingie, Taiwo, Mikel, Enyeama, Odiah and Anichebe is a different ball game entirely. |
Iyineda:The match against Saudi Arabia had this lineup: Ejide Yobo Shittu Suswan Echiejile Ayila Haruna Obasi Anichebe Kanu K. Uche ![]() I hope the 4-4-2 was just a test and that we will come back to using the 4-3-3 formation against Colombia this Sunday. The Eagles need a denser midfield. Today's match proved the 4-4-2 formation to have a porous midfield. I know it was only a warm up match and the starters of today aren't going to be the starters in the WC. But still. . . The only certainy I have after watching the match is that Anichebe must definitely be in the 23 man squad if not in the starting 11. That player is special. Also, Kanu. . . ---------------------------------------------------> WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, FIND YOUR WAY BACK TO PORTSMOUTH. ![]() |
The game was played like this: Ejide Yobo Shittu Suswan Echiejile Ayila Haruna Obasi Anichebe Kanu K. Uche |
lols @ thread title; for laughs for laughs XD |
I feel like crying. . . No game pattern. No real formation. Shambles. Shambles. My word. I'm no more blaming this on the coach but on the players. Anyhow, we will have a more precise idea of what to expect in the WC with the Colombia match on Sunday. |
Echiejile - piss poor Kanu - burden Yobo - shaky and unreliable Obasi - out of position Ayila - down with a cramp XD Only Anichebe and Haruna (to some extent) were good. Kaita was ok. My goodness! I need to see a serious improvement in the Colombia encounter. |
What the deuce!? o_O |
I hope Naija plays with their away jersey (white shirts). ![]() |
Mikel definitely isn't in his 30s. Even if he isn't 23 like his passport reads, he is yet to have reached the 30 years mark. At most he is 27! But I want to believe he isn't like the others ( Mikel, Osaze, Ike Uche, Enyeama, you guys are my drive for the current national team! Do us proud in SA!! ^0^ |
Time of match: 6pm Nigerian time (GMT) Venue: Wattens, Austria Where you can watch the match online (streaming or media software): http://www.myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=77282&part=sports Or, atdhe.com rojadirecta.org ![]() |
Are you guys kidding me South Korea not skilled with the ball Did we watch the same match at all ![]() Those guys can ball! They are both skilled AND highly athletic, not in terms of physical strength but stamina. The Red Devils (their nickname) will be very tricky to play against. The only things we have on the East Asians are a bit more body mass and a few more individualities. They play like a TEAM. I hope Lars has taken note. Anywhoo, for tomorrow's match against Saudi Arabia, here's the lineup I predict: Enyeama Yobo Afolabi Odiah Taiwo Etuhu Kaita Haruna Obasi Yakubu Osaze Subs: Apam, Shittu, P. Utaka, Anichebe, Suswan (all at half time), I. Uche and maybe Kanu , K. Uche or J. Utaka. I don't think he will use Martins and Nsofor in this one. He already knows how they ball. Yeah, I predict upto 7 substitutions (hopefully). |
****UPDATE**** Hehehe! Not anymore! The match has not been cancelled. It has a new venue >>> http://www.kickoff.com/news/15613/luton-town-for-super-eagles.php Alright! ![]() |
I just hope they will find a new stadium to play in!!! |

Frick! You beat me to it, blank. ![]() |
^ Who? Me? ![]() babaearly:Thx a lot. ^^' |
migareigns:Well if he really said this then it means he is having an issue of selective amnesia. The match between Sweden and Argentina ended 1-1; Svensson scored on a free-kick then Crespo equalized after the rebound of Ortega's missed penalty kick. |

Aaaaaaaaaand, you expect everyone to believe you with no reliable source? I'm not saying it's false news. All I'm saying is that it is yet to be confirmed officially and quoting a media helps eradicate disbelief. ![]() |
You guys may want to check this list out. ![]() http://bleacherreport.com/articles/395626-fifa-world-cup-2010-nigerias-10-greatest-players-of-all-time#page/1 No Odemwingie though. . . |
Ask teams like Lyon who beat an on-paper impressive Real Madrid side this season in the CL. Ask Rubin Kazan how they did it against mighty Barca earlier this season. Ask Malawi how they were able to defeat an Algerian side that everyone thought had won the match before it even started. 90 minutes. A net. A ball. That's all you need to write your future (wink at Nike ad). ![]() Super Eagles all the way! |
The 3 football managers I respect the most in these recent years are: - Sir Alex Ferguson - Guus Hiddink - José Mourinho But I give José the edge because of his youth and perkiness. ![]() |
@lagerwhenindoubt Please read through the comments made on this thread that have pointed out the inaccuracies and exaggerations I'm refering to. While you're at it, read the whole article one more time (granted you have done so already before posting). If after that you still find it difficult to see where most posters and myself are coming from, then you are part of those who are largely biased for some reason. It has nothing to do with patriotism. And don't you dare call Nigerians "brain-washed gay-arssed brain-dead citizens". Who the fvck are you anyway? What makes you think you are better? If you have something to say that makes sense, please don't hold back. For now I don't see it. Ty. |
