MRBrownJ: you think you can come on NL, quote me while claiming A then Z, and expect me not to call you out for the nonsense you write?! if you claim that men with richer wives are all abusive then, i dont need to live your life to say, YES you are narrow minded and negative. if you think this is an insult then so be it. why get mad now that i wish that you become like your idol here?! dont you wanna BE like her any longer? bwaaah! She is not my idol, this is my first time hearing about her. Don't patronize me. You automatically made an opinion about a 61 year old woman you have never lived with. For her to say something like that, it must have been out of experience. I'm not half her age but I get where she's coming from. I have aunties and older ones who are married. So I'm not naive about issues like this. I would be foolish to make the same mistakes they've made. I quoted you without insulting you but you are the one with the actual narrow mind because you expect everyone to think like you. People have different experiences in life and it forms how they view life, so don't be too quick to judge. The only come back you have is that I'll end up like her, fine. I'm not scared to be alone, and it is not a disease to be single. But that is not something you say to someone. It is mean. You are mean. I never knew it was a crime to want a richer husband. It has nothing to do with gold digging which I'm sure is what you're assuming. A lot of people suffer from inferiority complex, it is more difficult for men because of their ego. It usually leads to misplaced aggression and women and children bear the brunt of it in homes. Tell me honestly if you'd rather be richer than your wife or have it the other way round. It is not my fault that you're poor. Don't pour that aggression on me. Go and hustle. |

Dimejidude: Controlling Usually, the onus falls on women. One thing about men is that they all have an ego, that is how they were created and so in marriage, you have a woman who wants to always control the man,it doesn’t last. And you think a marriage where a man wants to control a woman will last? |
Celebrities › Re: Yemi Fawaz: I Can’t Marry A Poor Man At Age 61 by Izen: 2:50am On May 17, 2016 |
MRBrownJ: arent you the one who wrote that this woman was a realist SAME AS YOU? that you identify with this 61yr "rich husband looking" woman? so why get upset when i wish you to be just like her? as for me calling your views narrow minded and negative, well what do you expect when you claim that ALL men who marry richer wives physically/emotionally abuse their spouse? is that not a very narrow minded/negative statement?
you wanna be just like her but dont want to end up like her?! make up your mind as you make no sense.
btw no, i am not a religious sheep, i have a brain and intend to use it ALL THE TIME My dear, you are still a wicked soul. And whatever opinion i have even if it differs from time to time, it is none of your business. I don't owe you an explanation. You say I'm narrow-minded, i say you have not lived my life. I'll try not to insult you but I wish on your loved ones what you wish on me. Bye. |

MRBrownJ: and you will probably end up as a 61yr old woman STILL seeking to find A man to marry you, with such narrow minded negative look on life.
whether she is rich or broke is irrelevant here, as her rich status didnt help in anyway get a rich man (all this years she was searching), did it?! and again, is that the teaching of the "good book" she is following? thats what they teach in Born again classes? this is not reality, this is pure foolishness to put "looking for a rich" man AND "born again" in the same sentence. I'm sorry but you are no Christian yourself. Because we think differently doesn't mean you should use such bile words against me. I will end up at 61 still seeking, really? Smh. |
Celebrities › Re: Yemi Fawaz: I Can’t Marry A Poor Man At Age 61 by Izen: 8:09pm On May 15, 2016 |
MRBrownJ: too bad that deluded woman isnt in front of me, if not i would ask her where in her Bible does it say that a man must be rich before he is valued as a possible husband? the reason she was never married is possibly because she has been looking for a rich man to marry, yet they only wanna sample and throw away. at 61yrs of age, and still searching, she is lucky if she finds "any" man willing t marry her mad looking self. If you read the entire thing properly, you'll know it's because she is rich herself. Now tell me, how many men will marry a woman who is richer than them? It always ends in emotional abuse and domestic violence. She's a realist, I like her. Same with me. I will marry a rich man because I am working hard to be rich myself. I won't settle down to depend on a man, and I won't settle with a man that plans to depend on me either. |

Testerfuze: Very nice and sensible post, i've seen alot of negative things from this so-called women who claims to fall victim everytime a break is on the way, although am not married but i've seen enough to know that women are the aggressors sometimes. In this era where we now have women clamoring for gender equality and feel they should also be heard, nothing wrong in being heard but an idiom says "One slave cant serve two masters" there can only be one driver in a car. Now tell me how a woman so confident of her ego will allow a man make the decisions over her? Hell no! she'll feel she's been belittled hence resorting to either abusing the hubby or even violence, how wont the man retaliate hence a break will be imminent. Am talking from experience here, ladies take advantage too and men are not the only guiilty ones here. When men are aggressors, do they get beat up by their women? No. So you have no point. Secondly, there have been disrespectful women before the advent of feminism so please leave feminists out of this. Lastly, why do you think you can just make decisions over a whole human being without taking the said person into consideration? It is called selfishness and not the kind of love the bible talks about. Thank you. |

byvan03: Yes, to each their own. If you can allow someone shove you around like a rag doll while you find a healthy way, every one won't because you said so. A wife should not act like a thug and expect Princess treatment. Men who act like thugs don't get beat up. So I disagree with you, sorry |

Woman, get yourself a War Room in your home. And men? Why do we always put the pressure to make marriage work on one gender? |

donbenedict: isn't it surprising dat will Smith and his wife havnt separated despite their marriage hit the rocks?
Nowadays people think marriage is like evry normal day relationship where any slight provocation, both call it quits...
Personally, I dnt support divorce... so much dat I am praying everyday for a better wife. I hope that with this your mindset you don't plan to cheat on or hit your wife. Because if you plan to do any of those and then manipulate her with this your ideology, you'd be worse than those who decide to divorce. |
Family › Re: Can A Physically Abused Woman In A Marriage Work Things Out With Her Husband ? by Izen: 9:51am On Apr 24, 2016 |
MARKone: Of course. But OP from what u posted, Jade never said that she was ever physically abused by will. But why is it that men are always seen as the aggressor. What of those women, who are verbally loose towards their husbands, don't you know that, that is a form of abuse, who speaks for those men, and can they work things out with their wives, it shouldn't be all about the woman every time, men can also victims. The difference is words don't kill, blows can. And to be honest, most men that claim verbal abuse also do the same to their wives but they don't get beat up for it. Domestic violence is a show of strength. Like the mofo behind my house that kept stressing the fact that he was the one who paid bride price 2days ago as he was hiting his wife. I didn't know that getting married as a woman meant selling your soul o. I strongly believe that if you're wife calls you ode, call her were. The moment you hit her, you have lost all justification. |

The daughter of the President has every right to fly first class or lodge in the Presidential suite at the Waltz. She is not a public officer and did not seek the mandate of Nigerians. Wives and children should be left out of criticism political attacks. Although i would advice the President, to be more careful, and to have a sit down with his family. It was clearly stated that public officers are not allowed to use PUBLIC FUNDS to fly business or first class. Simply put, if you're going on an official assignment, fly economy. If you're going on vacation with your family, no one cares what you fly as long as it is from your pocket. We all agree that this makes sense. Please let's be objective in our criticisms. |
Education › Re: Dirty Toilets At Unilag Hostels by Izen: 10:17pm On Apr 10, 2016 |
dicefrost: So the government is suppose to clean the toilets for them? The students are dirty people, if they can allow their toilet become soiled to that extent. Do the landlords in private hostels hire workers to clean the students toilets? One the issue of light and water, I'm in support of the students but this toilet matter, the students should bear the responsibility. Err.....if you don't know what to say maybe you shouldn't say anything. I lived in the hostel throughout my four years in that school. The reality is if a toilet is not a pit latrine, there's nothing even the neatest person can do to keep it clean if there's no water. The wcs can't flush themselves. So you have to fetch water from downstairs before you can use the toilet. Imagine if your room is on the 3rd floor. And most times you even need about three buckets of water to use the toilet comfortably. One for initial flushing, one for after using it, and the last one for having your bath to get the germs got from the dirty walls off. Most ladies urinate on the bathroom floor because you don't expect them to go and fetch water downstairs just because they want to pee. Imagine the smell that comes from that. The state of the toilets is not good for the health. In my year one days, I kept visiting my doctor every holiday because of toilet disease. At a point, she adviced me to start shot putting but my conscience wouldn't let me. I had to buy a potty. Because of the structure of Unilag and lack of privacy, there's not much option of doing your business outside hence everyone is stuck with these shameful toilets. I agree that some people are just dirty, but you and i know that if there's water, it would be easier for the cleaners to manage these type of students. The old women carrying water up the stairs everyday all day, I don't wish that on anybody. Don't just sit behind your screen and judge these students if you have not lived their reality. |
