I could marry a guy with little, why not? We both have our hands and as long as we have somewhere safe to sleep and food, then we both have the means to keep working towards a better future.
Mind you, attitude goes a long way so sharing the same values is crucial.
However I CANNOT bring a child into such a union. Not fair to the child when we both are struggling and cannot provide adequately for ourselves. This stance is something I cannot compromise regardless of how great a person the guy is.
Other than that, yeah..i'll be the Bonnie to your broke Clyde.
You're so right. This is what most guys don't get. A woman suffers more when there's poverty in a marriage especially when there are kids involved. A man can easily shut his mind out when things are not going well at home but a mother can't do the same. It's really not fair to the woman and the kids. And the average man won't agree to wait till the family can actually afford to start having kids.

Op I think your reason for most ladies wanting a man with a ride is rather simplistic. I won't marry a man without a car because I don't want to hop bikes with my baby on my back when the kids start coming. I can contribute money for the car o but there sha must be car unless we don't plan to start having kids immediately after marriage. I pity mothers I see struggling with 2 or more toddlers without a personal means transportation.Women have suffered enough haba.

It's unfortunate how our tradition has been so denigrated by civilization and making of the modern day woman. How can a woman call a man old enough to be her husband a "thug" in the presence of other men. In Igbo land we call it ARU!!! meaning abomination. She disrespected her husband and all the men in the Senate. Even President Buhari will be totally disappointed in this woman. This woman must be sanctioned appropriately because if I have my way , she would be made to walk naked around the national assembly compound. Shameless woman .

I'm sorry o but I don't get your point. As much as I'm not a fan of Remi's behavior please I need you guys to stop with your double standards. Yes, he is someone's husband. She is also someone's wife. It is the senate chambers for heaven's sake and not a family meeting setting. Male or female, they all have equal powers and rights please. The two of them are not Igbos. In fact, I'm from Kogi so we don't buy into this your idea that women should not speak anyhow just because someone is a man. Abegi, make them insult diasef, I don't care but none as immunity.

I'm not buying this "lay all the blame at the lecturer"

Sometimes, yeah lecturers need to do more in imparting knowledge but we should not exclude these two factors:

Poor teaching environment, for instance 100 students in a 50 student capacity class etc

Secondly, students need to also bear the blame. Under that same condition, someone got a B. Even students that don't read and then fail would still open their lips to scream the lecturer is wicked. If you bring their scripts, you'd be shocked by the nonsense they write.
Because someone has a 'b' means nothing. Humans don't have the same assimilation capacity. However 70% outrightly failing means more than average failed. The problem is the lecturer as far as I'm concerned.
PoliticsRe: 'Why Always Remi Tinubu?' - Dino Melaye Takes Another Swipe At Tinubu's Wife by Izen: 12:06pm On Jul 18, 2016
sagacitytunday:
I've consciously restrained myself from making comments on this Senators Remi/Dino' saga because I always want to stand and protect the rights of women, but at this junction, we should call a spade a spade.

The Stance of my APC friends on this issue is very annoying and if there's anything I detest about APC, it's hypocrisy. If Nigeria doesn't kill hypocrisy, hypocrisy will kill Nigeria.

Senator Dino is a personality that's very popular for his intermittent display of the five minutes madness syndrome, right from his days as a member of the House of Rep. This was well celebrated by the APC and he was a Hero during the GEJ era!

Senator Remi Tinubu on the other hand was the First lady of Lagos State for eight years and she returned to the Senate for a second term, not forgetting her husband has been in the corridors of power from time immemorial. For a personality in her position, who has been a VIP for a long time, her unruly behaviour in the Senate is not only worrisome, uncalled for, but a disgrace to whatever she represent. Haba, is she the only woman senator in the Senate? From Obanikoro, to Saraki, to Ekwermadu and now Dino, in sane Clime's, people would have demanded for her resignation.

There's time for everything. If she desired to be the Senate President, she should wait for her time. Lagos belongs to the Tinubus', so if she's willing, she can return to the Senate every four years like Senator David Mark, until she becomes the SP. She should be cautioned, because to every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction. Everyone cannot be a gentleman like Saraki, Obanikoro and the rest. If she has an unruly tongue, somebody possess an unruly behaviour. Hers is the first case of a woman throwing all caution into the wind as a legislator in Nigeria. She should be a good Ambassador of her party, the womanhood and her husband who's a National leader of their party.

My grandmother once told me a story..... My grandfather was the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti.... The Late Anirare Aladesanmi. She said there was a particular day, a boy and his parents were brought to the Palace to be punished for insulting the king. On getting to the Ewi, a man who will never justify the wicked nor punished the innocent, asked that the boy should be given the opportunity to speak before he pronounces judgement on him and his family. The boy began by telling the gathering how the Prince (the Ewi' son, who were worshipped like gods those days) started by insulting and cursing his father, the boy reiterated that when he couldn't withstand the abuse on his father, he too cursed the father of the Prince. The Ewi asked his son if the boy lied and the Prince responded that he was the first to curse the boy's father. My grandfather told the gathering that a father is a father, king or not, that since his son was the first to curse another person' father, the boy too possess the right to curse the Prince' father, irrespective of who the father may be. He asked that the boy and his family be released while his son should be severely dealt with, for having the effrontery to insult the father of the boy. She said, thereafter, no Prince or Princess dared go out of the Palace to misbehave.

Morals: If the King had praised his son and punished the boy and his family, other Princes and Princesses would have followed suit. Till date, the Aladesanmis are well respected wherever they are mentioned or appear.

At a time in this country, Patience Jonathan was a personality the APC insulted and ridiculed everyday. GEJ never reacted to qny insult on him and his family. Someone even called her Shepopotamus and the APC celebrated him, what goes around comes around.

Imagine poking her hand in the face of a colleague, someone's husband and father! If we continue to celebrate this, it's a disgrace to womanhood. A woman of her calibre should be reserved, cool&calculated, comported, a role model and not confrontational, impatient, violent or provocative.

Senator Bola Tinubu should caution her, because a child that goes out insulting other people's parents (Yoruba's call them Omo atiro) will succeed in taking curses and insults back to his parents. Respect is reciprocal, so is insults and violence!

The APC on the other hand should save the country, this dramas and national embarrassments. Nigerians are hungry and not bored. Enough of the Nollywood, Africa Magic scenarios between the Executive and the Legislative. Instead of addressing the economic woes of the country, the ruling party is engaged in disgraceful power tussle, from inception till date.

It's glaring Nigerians made the greatest mistake of the century, the day they adopted this negative party, with negative change, offering negative solutions to the challenges of the country.

Senator Dino Melaye, get a medical expert on the treatment to your five minutes madness malady. It's becoming unbecoming.

Wetin be my own sef?
Eran Oba lo mu isu Oba je.
APC vs APC....... All na change!!!
Here is where I disagree with you. If you're really for feminism or women's rights, please understand one of the basic values at least. What you just described up there reeks of double standards. I was nodding to your comment until I reached that part. Are you saying it is okay for a man to display thuggish behavior but it becomes a greater offense when a woman does the same. Doyin said Remi is rude and arrogant but is he himself polite and humble? As far as I'm concerned he has no moral justification to call her out on her bad behavior because he is just as guilty. I'm sure his angry because she is a woman. He must have thought, "... see this one, I have your type at home..." He is someone's husband and father you say, she is also someone's wife and mother. I think it'll have been better if you had just remained neutral. Both of them have issues. None is better than the other. However, inciting violence on any gender in the senate chambers is a matter of national disgrace. You shouldn't be threathening to beat somebody up at that height of leadership. And rape is a serious issue that shouldn't be suggested as a joke or as a threat. Period.

Only Allah knows what really transpired between the woman and her assailants that day. She might be preaching inciteful messages that were too hard to bare. Even tho i condemn the action of the killers, by preaching around a mosque makes her actions daring. It's like an imam coming to preach in a church territory. I suggest the government ban street evangelism so cases like this can be averted in future. It is wrong to go around with megaphone and start preaching as early as 5am when people are resting. Those who blame Islam for her death are just displaying ignorance. We cannot use the action of few to judge the entire muslims. Islam remains a peaceful and tolerant religion. cool
Shut up there! You killed one, you gave this excuse. "You cannot use the actions of few to judge all Muslims." You're still killing thousands around the world today, still the same dumb excuse. Will you face a terrorist who is killing in the name of Islam and tell him this truth you speak of to his face? So why should we infidels listen to you? Bunch of cowards and hypocrites! And guess what, if a Muslim came out to preach in a church, he wouldn't have been killed. Worst case scenario, he would have been bundled out. But who am I kidding? You wouldn't even envangelize in the first place because the only thing you lot believe in is coercion. Just imagine the insensitivity of this comment. So she deserved to die? Ode angry sad

Before I type this let me make it known to you all that am a Christian and Rest in peace ma.

Now to business, I heard she was preaching in a Muslim dominated area and also close to a mosque. Now that's foolishness in her path. The bible never advised anyone to invade another religion as its seen as tempting fate and provocative. Did she asked why no man of God, even the one with strongest anointing have never gone to countries like Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia etc to preach? Even her GO with all the power and wealth has never attempted to. NIGERIA is a religious country made up of various religious practices. You are not allowed to go to another mans domain and try influence him/her to worship yours when he/she has a solid reason reason to keep practicing his/hers. That's called invasion of another's religion. Yes it's bad she was killed but know that the people she was preaching to are known for their jihadist mentality and killing for Allah is rewarding to em. You want to preach, then go to a Christian or neutral dominated zone not to a Muslim, Pagan or Atheist zone cos these guys got no chill and they can only be arrested by the Holy Spirit. In conclusion, sorry ma, and to her family. But next life practice both Christianity for faith and reality for sanity.

NB: you are allowed to quote and we can conversant like mature people without insults. Cheers

safarigirl:
i don't think i'm better than anybody first off...maybes a few girls that have disappointed me.

Speaking the truth is now siding with men? Did I lie that women have turned themselves to sex objects or are you in denial? Babe, I stay in girls hostel and honestly, I am repulsed by what I have to witness because I used to hold women in higher standards than reality has proven.

If you didn't read right, I also called out men who prefer women of easy virtue to the good women
I berated my own self here many times and declared myself unable to marry a man, was that not also an insult to the men? You either have comprehension problems or you're reading from a sentimental point of view.

Someone can not respect a person who can't even respect herself and her body, a person who thinks the only way to hook a man is by flaunting her private areas and having sex with him. Such people deserve no iota of respect and if my refusing to accord them such means i'm hating on women, who I utterly hate to be associated with these days, then so be it.
I wish you would use the same effort in holding men also responsible for their own part in the problem but you still see no wrong in your comment so good for you. You remind me so much of those marriage sermons who stress so much on women respecting men but casually tell men to love their wives. The truth is from your comment you still hold women to a much higher standard whereas it should be the same standard you hold both genders to. But it's hopeless trying to make you see reason. Please try not to adopt girls.

hello.....I'm a female who isn't interested in getting married because men prefer whoring, gold digging opportunists to those who won't try to swindle them for all they're worth.

Totally given up on the idea of marriage since i'm apparently too skinny, ugly and opinionated for most guys. So, i'm highly interested in adoption or using a sp3rm bank.

I can't blame men for the way they see women because it's other women that caused this thought process. What I blame men for though, is their inability to see good girls because they're blinded by the bad ones who happen to have attractive wrappers.

I am utterly disgusted with that behaviour you stated of young girls becoming prostitutes in school, I see it in the girls hostel, but wetin man go do? You can only talk so many times before someone begins to insult you or remind you that "men don't even like you".

Anyway, nice to meet someone else who has given up on the idea of marriage because of the things he's seen smiley
There's nothing I hate more than women who think they're better than other women by siding with men that don't see us as more than 'sex objects'. Very shameful. All the epistle you wrote doesn't make you any better please. Who are the people who go after these prostitutes? These problem is more than just women, when there's no demand there's no supply. But instead of men to tell themselves the truth to stop patronizing these women, they hail themselves and blame just the women instead. And worse still, women like you join them to play the blame game. It takes two to make prostitution happen. Learn. That you side with men doesn't mean they see you any better than the rest of us. But it's your opinion.

Look madam, you ll be like the 100th person I'll be telling this, I'm not thinking of marriage, I'm 31(so u know I'm not a kid) and I'm well to do, I have told my mum, if she continues pestering me with marriage I'll simply go and get a girl pregnant, bring the child for her to nurse, as children happens to be her problem...
And to answer your question overlooking the innuendos, if I happen to have a daughter, I'll give her all she needs and train her to be the best of herself, not seeing men as money bags, or seeing her pussyy as an ATM, I'll show her how to have self worth for herself and wear some garment of pride. But if peradventure she throws that away and decides to leave like all you girls I'm seeing everyday, that turn themselves prostitutes in school they are sent to, and use the proceeds for brazzillian hair and all other stupidities, then I'll be very happy for men to also treat her like the LovePeddler she built herself to become, like a sex object that has no self worth or value....

So MA, that is me... I treat people the way they treat themselves, and till date I can tell you, girls haven't given people the cause to respect them and see them more than sex objects.... Remember, " respect is earned never conferred"..

I still remain Paulkillerman...
