they have genuine grieviances, I am igbo too. And similar to you, I have no belief in biafra because I feel sentiments has beclouded reason in that struggle. The brits had reasons they felt were genuine for the brexit, yet most of the consequences you see today were very clear from the onset, yet they didn't see it due to their egoistic sentiments on matters relating to imigration.

The EU has stated that no access to the free market if they won't allow free passage, thus if britian loses the free market , economically they will have to look overseas for business in an already chinese concnetrated markket. Yet if they succumb to the EU, then they return to square one. Thus why the brexit.

The point is that such a noble act of seccesion could be counterproductive if not based on sound unbiased judgement and people choices. The biafrans have a good cause, have they discussed life after biafra is acheived ? The answer is likely NO. Have they discussed any pertinent issues to nation building ? NO. Even many in the regions don't understand the merits or demerits of the seccesion and yet biafra is being agittated. To prevent room for regrets like the brexit. They must plan first, strategise second, model thirdly and lastly agitate
Sure

OP, i commend you for this writeup but i think you should be a little bit OPEN MINDED.

Firstly, you may see the consequences of brexit being applicable to biafra but the are from two different causes.
The main reason the brexit prevailed was due to immigration issues followed by sovereignity. In biafra case, they feel cheated. You cant compare their reasons

Am an Igbo and i dont support biafra but that doesnt mean they dont have a cause. I think nigerians should spend more time on how we can make sure the hold of power is fair and not the consequences that we befall biafra
Look at our government today, some zones are being cheated. Some zones have ruled more than anybody else. 90 percent of our oil blocs are owned by a particular sect in another person's land.

My opinion sha. Thanks for the thread

1. You can not comment on a case that is already before a court of law.
2. You can not be a judge in your own case, which Saraki is trying to be.
3. The Minister is not answerable to the Senate, a point the former Minister of Petroleum, Dieziani proved throughout that regime.

Which common sense?, you mean vicious cycle like having twelve kids in the village and throwing them around to make a nuisance of themselves in Lagos or kids growing up to repeat the nonsensical practices of their parents?.
The problem with Nigeria is not even unemployment, its about DUMB AND DUMBER parents who are already living in penury, having dozens of children whom they unleashed on those who are smart enough to minimize their exposure to poverty by choosing QUALITY OVER QUANTITY.
I will recommend that anyone catch in the illegal act of street trading in the prohibited area should be sent to jail, at least 2 years to serve as deterrent to others.
Thank God you arent in power

We would have preferred Buharis grave over your own government.

Thank God

Okijajuju1:
Having a logical and reasonable debate on Nairaland keeps getting tougher and tougher each day. Its like most of the Nigerians on this thread thrive in just being ignorant and the reach of their reasoning is pretty limited.

Yesterday so many people challenged the fact that there was actually a law against street trading in Lagos (and many other Nigerian State capitals). Now that the lagos state government has again reiterated that street hawking/peddling is illegal, the arguement is about if the hawkers should rather resort to being armed robbers. grin grin grin

Now the foolishness of this line of reasoning can be seen when looked at like this: So all unemployed struggling young persons in Nigeria are either hawkers or robbers. grin There is no other option to making money for the unemployed except to be an illegal street trader, A Criminal Armed robber or an illegal street begger. grin grin grin There is no other business one can do in this nation of over 150 million people to make money when unemployed with no money to make money... REALLY?!!!!

So to those of you on here holding on to this line of argument, this is it extent of the depth of your reasoning to making money when you are unemployed with minimal cash.

iGiveUp for the second time on this thread.. I really do.

#GodBlessNigeria&HaveMercyOnUsAll...
And have mercy on you also

Dont just hide behind the keypads of your phone and just because you know the law, and have access to the internet, you write whatever you like

How many agberoes have been arrested by KAI? Oh sorry, the arent participating in Indiscipline

I pass iyana oba everyday. KAI trucks are stationed there and they dont chase anybody. Maybe their Iyaloja has settled them but because this poor boy didnt have a family or isnt REGISTERED, he deserves a hot chase.

Looking at reality, some people are not fortunate like you to go to school, or be informed. And there is a family to feed. So your candid advice to that person who needs to eat tonight is to start learning a trade. Maybe in 6 months he will be done and by then, his landlord must have thrown him out. What will be his survival means during those periods?

Dont just lie down on your chair and type. Go out and hear people's problems. You will get a better opinion on why the stupid law against hawking should be abolished.

The law can be structured in a way whereby the hawkers pay tax to the government and are made to clean up the highways. Thats better

Thanks for your writeup sha

ok lemme talk...so u talking bout other feasible option.. What happened to craftsmanship, learning a trade, skilled and unskilled labour. These are all subseta of the white collar job. If that same kid was a mechanic or vulcanizer or prolly a car wash attendant. Kai officers wont be running after him .There is a law in the land and he broke it,if what he was doing was right,he wouldnt have scampered like he dis,he put his life at risk because he knew what he was doing was wrong. An unfortunate occurence took place and this should serve as a lesson to other law breakers. We cant say we want Nigeria to change and we are not ready to change afterall we are the same Nigerians and change is expected of Everyone... We always blame our leaders for being corrupt but we are far more corrupt than they are. The common man is the major problem of Nigeria, The common man marries a wife in the case of the North 2 or 3 wifes,he copulates and gives birth to tens of offspring,he creates poverty in his household and now spreads it to his environment. Are you telling me you will see Tinubus or Buharis kids hawking gala? answer is NO. The common man basterdized the freedom in Nigeria to commit unspeakable acts he litters his environment with dirt, downpour occurs there is a flood he blames the government. He erects a structure under a high tension,Govt pulls it down he screams wickedness. Everything in Nigeria we blame the government, when are we gona start to blame our own selves for some of our careless attitude towards urgent matters? Such kid would have been in the Village farming or doing menial labour, but know he was in the city and the city killed him. Nigerians have this mentality of making it big in the city whereas there is nothing really big in the city. Government cant cater and be responsible for all our needs, its high time we accept the blame for some of our misdeed. You may see me as cold hearted, but trust me am not,am a common man,but i reason objectively,i obey the laws of the land and respect people. I have a believe that if you do or say no wrong, you would be secure from harms way to an extent. I dont blame the KAI officials, neither do I blame the poor kid that died. But simple truth is that a misadventure occured and we shouldnt be sentimental about it.. Left for me its the Animals that started destroying public properties that should be held accounatble for disturbing public peace and causing anarchy. Thank u
You can be more reasonable

You sound educated. Just add a little common sense and you will be perfect

Thank you

Even if buhari tortures us with horsewhips, APC would still win because PDP has not seen themselves as an opposition. They are so used to being in power that they havent realised they arent there anymore.
