Theflint1: Sometimes this strong head works in the favor of the players, and sometimes it doesn't, most clubs would rather cash in on a player that's made it abundantly clear they want out...just don't understand these Italian clubs and their weird ego trip that sees them have players depreciate on their books.
Lookman would leave either January or June 2026, and Atalanta would end up making less than they'd have made if they allowed him leave last transfer window. Former Southampton CEO has admitted he considers Saints' handling of Virgil van Dijk's 2018 move to Liverpool as "embarrassing" 😳 🗣️ "We kept him until January. It wasn’t good for the squad or the environment, but to be clear, Virgil never said one negative word to anybody All these emotional statements players make is very funny. This was Southampton CEO saying that despite them keeping VVD against his wish to will, he never said anything negative. You signed a contract. If the club decides not to let you go, wait it out. No need to make it look like they are keeping you against your will. |

Roland17: When asked about the player, the Croatian said: “Lookman won’t be with us. It’s a truly unpleasant situation. After a meeting with him, I feel we need other things – spirit, fight, humility, work, guys who have to feel the shirt well. Our guys have to do that. I don’t want anything else.”
Speaking further, Juric clarified: “I want a different human level, a different sense of belonging. I have a good relationship with him, but I don’t have to ask him. Damn, we’re Atalanta, I don’t have to beg him. He needs strong, human values.”
https://sports.yahoo.com/article/atalanta-manager-ivan-juric-ademola-125100264.html
I am unsure who is advising Lookman but he needs to move on from what happened in the summer. If anything it should serve as motivation for him to work harder.
He needs game time to even convince clubs in January to push harder for him. He looked rusty against SA and may be in worse shape if he doesn’t reintegrate into Atalanta before January.
My position doesn’t mean I am indifferent to his plight but it is time to move on. Those are strong comments from his coach and while I don’t think everything is true, it is what the world now sees. I don't even see the sense in trying to force a club to sell you. You signed a contract. Finish it and move on. No club is obligated to sell you because you have suitors. If they don't want to, play out your contract and leave honorably. |

The dude obviously has no ambition. A lot of people just want to leave home, so they can be classified as "Working class". There are jobs in Nigeria that I'll pick selling bottled water over them. Most factory jobs are just to finish your destiny, but then, someone has to do them. Unless your aim is to gain experience and pad your portfolio, better go and push wheelbarrow and hawk fizzy drinks, if you need money. |

BlueRayDick: If you've ever worked in a workplace that allows membership of labor unions, you will understand the enormous benefits that comes with belonging to a union. You will also understand that Dangote compelling his workers to sign an undertaking not to join any union is just his own way of oppressing them and making sure they don't demand some benefits that are supposed to be rightfully theirs in line with industry standards.
From my personal experience, I have seen how union help the staff to hold management up to their responsibility. I have seen a particular allowance go from N350k to 1.2m simply by union pressing management for a review in line with current economic realities. That is the kind of benefit those Dangote staff will be missing out on the moment Dangote is allowed to get away with compelling drivers to renounce affiliation with labor union of their choice. No mind,Elder. I worked for a company without Union. They owed us for 3 months straight. On the 3rd month, NLC picketed the company, forced them to have a Union, and we got paid the next day. The video is still on YouTube. TVC covered it. I met a guy 2 weeks ago. He works for an Indian company that produces pen. They pay 2k a day......7am to 7pm. Imagine people earning 48k a month, because there's no Union to fight for their rights. |

TemporaryHansel: If they're minding their business as you claim, they should stop disturbing dangote truck workers to join their union. Joining of unions is voluntary not mandatory. Of course in Nigeria, most people have no single regard for the constitution, I don't know if you're one of them. You're typing out of your emotions. The law mandates Dangote to join the Union. You should be telling him that, instead of thinking every Union is your enemy. The Union is not dictating how much he sells his product. They are only going to hold him accountable to the welfare of his workers. If he has nothing to fear, he should join. Oil and Gas companies that are smaller than him, are part of it. |

GloriousGbola: Likely where his margins are. Since lagos will do far more volume than the other states
Maybe also hedging against Lagos traffic.
Hmm
These cng trucks are at least for now eliminating one of the most annoying issues logistics companies have - drivers stealing diesel or buying adulterated diesel on the road
This fight is not between dangote and unions - it is between dangote and other downstream companies.
A Total dealer pays Total for 45000 litres. Truck delivers from depot to station. Dealer is paying for the fuel and also for transport. Also absorbing loss of stolen product. Dangote is saying don't buy from Total depot - buy direct from me and you get free shipping.
As it is it is only independents that can key into this. You can't be a total branded partner and be buying direct from dangote.
Doesn't work that way
But independents likely do not have the cash for dangote cash and carry arrangements. I don't even think anybody checks the price of PMS anymore before buying. I know Total sells the highest, and people buy there Any which way sha, all of them will be fine |

TemporaryHansel: Your support for NUPENG is getting questionable. What exactly is the benefit of NUPENG to our economy? I'm sure dangote is sensible enough to do something about this. Even if drivers will join any union, only few will join. No union is mandatory under the law. What has a Union got to do with your economy? So while other oil companies have Unions, Dangote shouldn't have any because? Is it NUPENG that removed subsidy, or is it them that floated the naira? What exactly is your issue with people who are minding their business? |
