Reference:Kai, see what preach-washing has done. Was Jesus himself rich Was Moses rich , was Paul wealthy What does the Bible say about the difficulty of a rich man making heaven This new found xtianity has no basis, where are these teachings sourced from all of a sudden We all grew up hearing the adage: " As poor as a church rat". Suddenly being a successful pastor is synonymous with being a rich pastor, open your eyes all na wash. |
So sad, see where we have degenerated to. We can't trust our Govt., we can't trust our Military. This is indeed pathetic. Whichever way it is still pathetic, if those guys released are truly innocent, then life must be very wicked. Imagine the torture they would have gone through for weeks, months and even years. And the most compensation they would ever get is probably that =N=100000!!!. |
MKO4ever:NO. I think the first principle you should understand is that everything that is halal or haram draws the reasons for being Haram or Halal from the Quran or Sunnah. We may say taking Sugar deliberately in excess is Haram, because you are deliberately harming yourself, however taking sugar in moderate quantity is not harmful, hence Sugar can not be Haram. The same argument may suffice for Cigarette, as long as one can prove that taking Cigarette at whatsoever quantity is not injurious to health. |
dozichukwu:Welcome to our World. Many people result to insults when they have no superior argument or evidence. Most of those that throw out insults are those that have very little or no rationale argument for their defence. |
brito:I will not speak for Buhari or any other politician for that matter. This post was not about APC or PDP; it was about President Jonathan, that man is heading us for the rocks. Let PDP produce another candidate and then we can start talking. But if na GEJ till 2019, then Nigeria may be worse than it is now; with GEJ I don't see anything great happening to this country. I just pray God can save us... |
LyfeJennings:One of the cardinal xteristics of a Muslim is one whom upholds what is good and forbids what is evil. ISIS is an evil aimed at tarnishing the image of Muslims and also used as a platform for attacking Muslims; it is no different from Boko Haram. What is the aim of ISIS The people of Iraq, Syria, the Kurds etc are all Muslims, they are practicing their Islam to a reasonable extent. The law of these lands are not known to be anti-Islam in critical ramifications. So what exactly is ISIS doing The way I see ISIS is a bunch of rebels whom are exploiting the sacredness of Islam in the hearts of Muslims, by claiming to be fighting for Islamization while in the real sense they are fighting for Power. Allah Knows best, but I honestly feel Iraq, Syria and the affected areas would have been better places without ISIS. |
Exponental:Trust me, it s nothing other than that. The supposed Nissan Plant in Lagos has not been seen by anyone. The plant has never been shown on TV nor their website. All we hear is that there is a plant. The least I expected was for a tour of the plant to be shown on TV. |
May Allah continue to make us better Muslims and bless His Noble Prophet Sallahu Alayhi Wa Salam. May the year bring happiness, peace and prosperity to Muslim ummah.. ameeeen! |
This is 6 years after; and the story is still the same. Now I am looking for an agent or someone to bribe so that I can get my transcript sent. |
wristwatch:Men, You just cracked my RIBS! |
bankylan:In fact some of your statements are shocking. You seem to be saying the Pastor is entitled to be living on the tithes, to be spending it for his personal luxury. The point is the Pastor is living on the gullibility of his followers; there is no doubt that the Pastors are clever, they have got to be clever to have that much money, but they are also defrauding their members in the name of God. I can never accept that it is right or holy; for Pastors to cajole, motivate, stimulate their members to drop not only 10% of their earnings but also several offerings; only for the pastor to be using all that wealth for personal luxury. Churches are springing up like " Pure Water Factories "; some people are closing their shops and turning them to churches. WHY Of course they will tell you that "GOD CALLED THEM", but you and I know they are changing their business because they think they would make more money. |
The best master stroke in Nigerian Politics in recent times; Whomever prepared Bala Ngilari for this clever outsmarting move must be applauded. Bala resigned by himself, but decided to leave a technical loophole in his resignation. He chose not to address his resignation to the former Governor while He was still Governor, but instead addressed it to the State House of Assembly. This in the eyes of the court made his resignation null and void. But I feel that another court of law will over-rule this judgement; you can't willingly resign and then turn around after some other critical events have occurred and then claim you didn't resign properly. Anyways this is another lesson in the history of Nigerian Politics! |
lucianohase: This woman is damn pretty!! I like her,I like her style........she is really doing the dirty works of the US and its allies, promoting US's geopolitical interests in iraq and syria. To me I feel this whole idea of airstrike going on in iraq and syria is a charade,it has an ulterior motive ........Us and their allies created ISIS for a purpose.....its so funny, they are now feeling like gods ,they create, they destruy : http://en.ria.ru/analysis/20140927/193360487/-The-US-and-its-Coalition-Created-Trained-and-Funded-IS.html..........The media has helped to put the lives of this cute woman's family in jeopady! Those IS dudes will come for them........Anyways,i still admire this woman,I like her.She mi type of lady ,a cuttie hard core professional combatant soldier. It is just so sad how they got the World wrapped around their fingers. The same US is refusing Nigeria's Govt. access to weapons but the same US is funding armed rebel groups with arms; they did it in Libya and are doing it in Syria. What do you expect? When you arm a Rebels to take over their own Govt.; what do you think will happen They will get out of control, because these groups are not an organized unit, they are led by combatants and not civil people. The same thing happened with Al Qaeda, US funded, armed and trained Osama Bin Laden, and when the war against Russia was over, Al Qaeda was again used by the US to bring war upon the Arab nations. US went into Iraq and set the Sunnis and Shiites against each other. What is the struggle in Iraq now It is the battle between Sunnis and Shiites!; who wins?? America!.In Nigeria, Boko Haram is gaining access to the US arms given to libyan rebels, while US is denying Nigeria access to weapons; these guys are good at Chess! It is just a matter of time, it is just a phase, the fantasy of America having a firm control of the Arab world will someday be over, then that region will know peace. ISIS or ISIL serves the interest of America and not the interest of Muslims or Islam. The Muslims in Arab world are free enough to practice their religion, so what else can ISIS or ISIL be bringing It just makes no sense. The War in Arab World is not about Islam or Muslims, it is about Oil. The Americans care less about Islam, it just happens that the Arabs are Muslims and they have got oil. |
May Allah give her the strength to overcome the horror those beasts would have put her through. Amin |
How can we even take this seriously . It is so sad, one can't even beat his chest that with this $1bn anything we bought. Some army chiefs are going to be stupendously rich very soon... at least if we go by history. |
eligibility: IF YOU CALL APC SUCH NAME IT MEANS THAT PDP IS THE GRAND FATHER OF TERRORIST GROUP IN NIGERIA WITH ORITSEJAFOR [CAN] AS THE SPIRITUAL HEAD....You have every right to allude to such. there are basis for your suspicion. |
Bros. This na Smoke with plenty fire. Which Country does Gun running with 9.3 million Dollars Cash. Are there no Military Planes to carry the weapon, Why is oritsejafor's plane being used . If this transaction was legal, how come the South Africans were not intimated that such Weapons will be crossing their border This is arm smuggling and Nigeria has no business smuggling arms when they can easily purchase these arms legally. There is more to this unless we just want to keep fooling ourselves. You can't fool all the people all of the time. These arms couldn't have been meant for the Nigerian military, they were most likely meant for other purposes. |
Seems it is easier to predict the outcome of football match than to Predict the collapse of your own House... |
Yes, Challenges bring out the best in us, we are not naturally disciplined and strong focused until we are pushed against the wall. I like the Challenge, lets see how we respond in the next game. |
My suspicions are turning out to be true: I have always known there are different angles to Boko Haram. There is the original Boko Haram which was known to have been an ally of Ali Modu Sheriff before their alliance fell apart and began the Genesis of the uprising / violence from BOKO HARAM. There is another BOKO HARAM, the one I believe Govt. knows more about. I still doubt that Yusuf's Boko Haram has the capacity to wreck the havoc we are seeing. May GOD restore peace to our Nation. Things like this my not be fully revealed in our lifetime, but someday the true stories will be known, will be written about, will become history that others will learn from. That's the life of this world. |
https://www.premiumtimesng.com/headlines/167729-more-trouble-for-the-oyakhilomes-as-uk-commission-probes-christ-embassy-over-paymentsl.html#sthash.sY9akByB.dpbs The imminent breakup of their marriage may be the least of the problems popular mega-church pastor, Chris Oyakhilome, and his wife, Anita, are facing at the moment as the United Kingdom agency is investigating the UK branch of their church, Christ Embassy, over controversial payments. The United Kingdom Charity Commission has launched a probe into the transfer of at least N941 million (£3.6 million) by the church to overseas entities between 2008 and 2012. In a statement on Wednesday, the Charity Commission said it has opened a statutory inquiry to investigate Christ Embassy over “a number of serious concerns relating to the use of charitable funds, in particular large connected party payments and the potential misapplication of grant funding.” According to the Charity Commission, which is the regulator of charities in England and Wales, statutory inquiries are only opened to investigate “the most serious” regulatory breaches. The commission said the purpose of the inquiry is to “determine whether there has been any mismanagement or misconduct on behalf of the charity trustees; to establish whether charitable funds have been properly applied and take appropriate remedial action if necessary.” The investigation was initiated in July 2013, but after interviewing members of the board of trustees and perusing the records and books of the church for a year, the commission was still not convinced that the church has been prudent in managing its finances. Subsequently, the UK tax authority, HM Revenue and Customs, has withheld N711.4 million (£ 2.7 million) due to the church in donation between 2008 and 2012 until the conclusion is resolved. On August 11, the commission effectively side-lined the church’s board of trustees and appointed an interim manager to take over the management of the church. In what it described as a “temporary and protective measure,” the commission appointed Rod Weston of the international audit and accounting firm, Mazars, to take over the running of the church. Until investigation is concluded, Mr. Weston would “take over the management of the charity, including its staff, assets, interests, and relations with third parties,” the commission said. He is also expected to discharge the functions of the church’s trustees and take steps necessary to secure and take control of the assets of the church. The commission however added that the activities of the church would not be suspended by the appointment as the Interim Manager is expected to work with the pastors of the church to ensure its religious and charity activities continue as before. Curious payments Although the Charity Commission said it does not provide details of ongoing cases so as not to jeopardize the investigations, PREMIUM TIMES assessment of the case however revealed that the church may have made curious payment worth at least N941 million ((£3.6 million) to individuals and companies closely connected with it. A study of the church’s financial statements from 2009 to 2012 posted on the Charity Commission’s websites, show that approximately N403 million (£1,572,047) was paid to Love World Limited from the transmission of the church’s broadcast. Curiously, the sole director of Love World Limited and sole shareholder is one Pastor Obiora Chiemeka who is also listed as a trustee of the church. Mr. Chiemeka was appointed a trustee in 2009, the year the church began to make the payment to his company. The church also paid an estimated N538.5 million (£2.1 million) as grants to mostly Nigerian partner organisations between 2008 and 2012. On a closer look, PREMIUM TIMES discovered that some of the charges the payments were said to cover were arbitrary, suggesting they might have been used for other purposes other than what they were listed for. For instance, between 2010 and 2012 a total of N320.4 million (£1.24 million) was paid to Love World Television Ministry, LTM. These payments appear to be a duplication of the payment for transmission of television broadcast paid to Love World Limited. Though the church’s dedicated television station is called Love World Television, it is not clear how Love World Television Ministry differs from Love World Limited. Love World Television Ministry is not listed on the church’s website among the ministries Christ Embassy runs. Also, in 2009, N9.6 million (£37,785) was paid to the church’s healing ministry known as Healing School. In 2010, N20.5 million (£97,850) was paid to the same school. However, the amount paid to the ministry dropped drastically in 2011 to N346, 072 (£1,350). Then the payment to the ministry shot up astronomically to N25.6 million (£100,000) in 2012. When PREMIUM TIMES called Christ Embassy’s international office for comments, an official who answered the phone said those who could speak on the issue were not in the office. The Interim Manager has also not responded to PREMIUM TIMES enquiries. Like Ashimolowo like Oyakhilome The investigation into Christ Embassy’s finances is the second time the Charity Commission will be carrying out statutory inquiry into the UK branch of a Nigerian Church. Between 2002 and 2005, the commission appointed KPMG to act as interim managers to another Nigerian church in the UK, Kingsway International Christian Centre, KICC, founded by Matthew Ashimolowo. A report released in October 2005 revealed serious misconduct and mismanagement of the church’s finances. The investigation discovered that Mr Ashimolowo approved payments and benefits for himself and his wife, Yemisi, totalling £384,000. He used the church’s Visa card to make personal purchases including a timeshare apartment in Florida for £13,000. The report also revealed that his wife bought a Bentley with a custom plate number worth £80,000. Ashimolowo was also paid over half a million pounds to personal companies operating from the church property. The report revealed that some of his companies had unclear business relationship with the church. The commission ordered him to repay £200,000. Divorce Mr. Oyakhilome is locked in a divorce battle with his estranged wife, Anita, who has filed an action at a UK court to end their 20-year-old marriage. Mrs. Oyakhilome accuses her husband of “adultery” and “unreasonable behaviour”, charges Mr. Chris has denied. At a recent church meeting, Pastor Chris, as he is widely referred to by Christ Embassy members, warned church members against analysing the squabble between him and Anita as the church is not a political party. He described his wife as a “bitter and angry” woman who is being influenced by bad friends who are out to seek his downfall. He accused his wife of seeking to overpower the authorities of the elders she met when she joined the Christian ministry. As the divorce battle rages, Mrs. Oyakhilome’s profile has been pulled down from the church’s website. - See more at: https://www.premiumtimesng.com/headlines/167729-more-trouble-for-the-oyakhilomes-as-uk-commission-probes-christ-embassy-over-paymentsl.html#sthash.sY9akByB.dpuf |
http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/daily/top-stories/33568-vigilantes-retired-soldiers-vow-to-confront-boko-haram Nearly 10,000 people, including youth vigilantes, local hunters, retired military, police and para-military operatives, artisans and petty traders today vowed to confront Boko Haram insurgents in Borno State. They resolved to use dane guns, sticks, bows and arrows to confront the insurgents as it came in the wake of emerging reports of Nigerian soldiers retreating from the war front as a result of alleged superior powers of the insurgents. Of recent, the insurgents have taken over many towns and villages in Borno State, including Gwoza, Gamboru Ngala, Dikwa, Bama, Banki and many others. Reports suggest that Boko Haram insurgents are also perfecting plans to attack the state capital, prompting the resolve of the people to rise against the move. The volunteers gathered at the Ramat Square in Maiduguri today, before they proceeded to the Palace of the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi where they sought for his blessings ahead of the operation. They said they are ready to enter the infamous Sambisa Forest and also go to all captured towns in order to reclaim them. The state Coordinator of the Civilian JTF, Mallam Abba Aji Kalli said they were at the Shehu's palace to seek for his blessings and fatherly advice. He told the Shehu to beg the Federal Government to provide them arms and logistic support so that they can protect themselves and vulnerable citizens. Speaking to journalists later, he said, “The various groups you see here have vowed to go after the Boko Haram insurgents even if we are not well armed. We are optimistic that with our Gora (Sticks in Hausa) and other local arms, we would raid all terrorists’ hideouts and kill them when given permission by the federal government. “We have done this before when Maiduguri was a theatre of mindless killings by the Boko Haram, we chased them out of the town but they have regrouped in the bushes and are now attacking people. Details shortly.. |
Ngwakwe: What a shameful answer to ridiculous rubbishThe man is a professional, He was on the ground, He interacted with BOKO HARAM and you want us to ignore his opinion, and take the opinion of you whom have no intelligence on this issue at all other than figments of your imagination. |
A man commiting adultery is attrocious but not uncommon; so believe me I am not surprised, I have always known it was a matter of time before he truth behind many of these people is revealed. To me, the moral of this revelation is: THESE GUYS ARE SCAMMERS, BEWARE OF SCAMMERS IN PASTOR CLOTHING. |
Sunnybobo3: The dissolution of the marriage between Christ Embassy Church founder, Pastor Christian Oyakhilome, and his wife, Rev. Anita Odegwa Oyakhilome, has entered the final phase, TheCable can report. The wife is seeking divorce on the grounds of “unreasonable behaviour” and “adultery”. She outlined several allegations against the pastor which TheCable cannot publish for legal reasons.I always knew He had it in him |
sbaks: I thought boko is haram?? And women are not supposed to even go out of their houses?? Hmmm 'dem don dey open eye oo abi??'Muslims were the fore-runners in Science, the foundations of many scientific works were based on the earlier works of Muslims. Islam encourages seeking knowledge, Science is a part of Islam. It was never Haram, and it would never be Haram. Read about Islam. |
Maisuya1: Masha Allah,Ameen Ya Allahu |
Light in Situation in my area in Kaduna has tremendously improved. On the average 20 hours of power supply guaranteed. |
That was a very bad rumour to spread; however you have driven home some very key points here that I am so much happy to see. I pray your rumour has not affected the health of anyone so adversely. People need to understand that not every poo they read online is true, sadly also I reckon many people believed this rumour because some thought it emanated from a Church, another sign of how gullible people are to what emanates from pastors these days!. Moral of the story: Use your brain. |
Siena: And I have problems with your thought process. Your statement suggests that Nigeria is on a different planet. My suggestions are in tune with EVERY country, where the automobile exists. It's guys like you that settle for second best, when it comes to Nigerian mechanics.Hey Hey Hey Oga Siena; I stumbled upon this your response, I believe months later. I probably didn't do a go job conveying the spirit of my response in words. Nevertheless, what I meant to say is that it is difficult to get some of your suggestions carried out. Believe me I know a compression test tool is a very simple tool that can be easily acquired and I understand its use. However, truth be told you would hardly come across a tool like that even in Elizade. So when you tell a guy to go carry out a compression test on his vehicle!, you are most likely sending him on a wild goose chase. |
delishpot: Hian, wetin I talk now? I am only saying those Israelites will do anything to keep that land. Did I say that I support the war? Biko I no get power jare. You are just talking out of passion so anything that is not applauding your idea you perceive as attack. You asked a question and I replied, did I say more? I even said if their father Abraham can agree to kill his only child what else won't they do?I was trying to keep the real issues in perspective. To some who would rather look away now... What goes around comes around even if it takes centuries... it would come around. You used the word Terrorist to describe HAMAS, and that gave you away as someone whom isn't putting issues in proper perspective. HAMAS is a military wing fighting for the emancipation of Palestinian land, how that makes them Terrorist and Israel not a terrorist really baffles me. |
