smartchoice: W202 C180 490,000km. 304,536 miles. Still moving without hassles!Did you buy this car brand new or tokunboh and for how many years have you used it |
Siena: My '95 Audi Coupe S2 had 543,000 miles when I sold her back in 2008. I replaced the turbo and head gasket during my ownership. There was nothing wrong with the OEM turbo, I just fancied an upgrade from the small KKK-24 to a more manly KKK-27. The head gasket was also fine, but it was easier to pull the cylinder head to get better access to the turbo.@Sienna did you use these cars in Nigeria , the post is most concerned about cars used in Nigeria i.e under the Nigerian conditions |
I pray the military is right on this one, even though I would Have preferred, He was captured and brought to court to face justice, people lile that really need to be made to see that they are nothing but a nuisance. |
The talk about mileage is always paramount in the search for a tokunboh car, some say mileage is just a number and that actually maintenance is key, this seems not to be far from the truth. I have seen many post cars with over 300,000 miles and say it is still going strong, but the issue is these cars were used in the US, so guys how far in terms of miles have you flogged your car in Nigeria. N.B: if you bought it as tokunboh, subtract the mileage from the mileage at the time you bought it. I have got a 2008 Toyota Hilux, with <b>183902km</b> on it, not sure to say it is still going strong, but still very functional. AC works great, never repaired, changed fuel pump twice, changed CAT once, changed clutch plate once, changed power steering pump once. Every other thing still working perfectly. My 2005 Avensis has got 81942km on it. Only the AC has ever developed a fault, still drives very strong. |
My concern is He would have go to a racing circuit to really enjoy these cars, cos with all the speed limits regulation in western country, He would hardly step on the gas before He beats speed limit |
druid06: It seems Allah was deaf to her prayers about protecting her daughter yet some would kill, destroy and do some unmentionable deeds for HIM. Isn't it ironic and pathetic? Fighting for a deity who doesn't give a hoot about you, who wants you to destroy and kill innocent lives because to him they're infidels. People stop putting your hands in false GODS and make your destiny by your own hands.Obviously you are a man of little thoughts. Allah answers whichever of our prayers He desire, Every soul shall taste death at an appointed time, even if we desire it not. It is her appointed time, her mother can't change that no one can. The important thing is she died a Muslim, and I pray she died a pious Muslim. |
golpen: From dawahnigeria fb page...like themMA SHALLAHU, my sister. May Allah be pleased with you and guide you aright. May Allah bless you with a deserving husband. |
chikasin4: Thereare a numberof thingsthatcouldbe causingthisp0420 catalyst efficiencycode. The mostcommonthingis the catalytic converteritselfis no longer functioningproperly. The other likely thingis the rear O2 (oxygen) sensoris no longer workingproperly. Other thingscouldincludeexhaustleaks, damagedexhaustpipes, damagedO2 sensorwiring/connectors,pluggedcatalyticconverter.I do feel, if you have noticed a cut on your CAT, you should verify if it has been gutted. If it has been gutted perhaps you should consider putting a defouler between the O2 sensor and the CAT, this may make the code disappear. Sorry, you have to go through all these trouble, it cam be quite frustrating, but when you finally get it, then you realise it is worth the experience. |
I am more concerned about that Nigerian that would donate 1 billion naira. I really want to know whom that person would be. |
vedaxcool: Vice President Mohamed ElBaradei, a Nobel Peace Prize winner who lent liberal political support to the ousting of Egypt's first freely elected president, resigned in dismay at the use force instead of a negotiated end to the six-week stand-off.Perhaps El Baradei has still got some conscience left in him. |
jp philips: can you tell us who this man Adel al-Khayat was in Egypt before the fall of the Morsi regime?I couldn't have put things in a more correct perspective and the debate is not about Morsi bringing in Muslim Brotherhood members into government cabinet, that shouldn't be a debate! that should be expected. The majority of the people of Egypt voted for the Muslim Brotherhood. Even if you didn't like that, the majority wanted that; and the point is that the opinion of majority should be respected. I don't know what you classify as Islamic radicals, or whose classification you are using or what evidence you have to classify a particular person as a radical. Let us not pretend Islamic Brotherhood is not ready to accommodate Israel the way Mubarak did, Mubarak and the Army didn't do it out of good will but for the 1.2billion USD to got annually, and the Islamic brotherhood's stance against Israel isn't by any standard unreasonable, if you call them radicals for that ... I don't know. the US funds the Egyptian military to the tune of 1.2b usd annually for close to a decade now, due to Morsi's unpopular, appointments, the US frowned and made it clear that they will not fund a regime with Islamic radical ties, that equally provoked the military.I really do not understand the point of this statement above, are you saying Egypt's cabinet needs to be ratified by US or what The Muslism Brotherhood exists in the US, in fact Morsi joined the Muslim brotherhood during his study in the US.In fact it is deceitful to just use the word "radical" in this context, because all that one needs to tagged a radical by USA is just to disagree with the "right of Israel to exist in the land of Palestine".As for the economic situation, it wasn't peculiar to Egypt, it is the same problem in Tunisia, Libya, even in Southern Sudan When there is a drastic change in government, the economy stutters before recovering; and my argument is if giving a 48hrs ultimatum to get protesters out of the street was just, and the best thing the military could have done ![]() |
funshint: Pls get 'ur facts right Morsi didn't reverse those decrees awarding absolute power to himself. And he wasn't doing it to protect Egyptians against Mubarak's apologists; he only did it to serve the interest of himself and his party MB. Looking at that, does it portray an image of someone who truly believes in the tenets of democracy?! He was fast becoming an authoritarian. His govt was alrdy becoming a draconian govt which was not inclusive of other stakeholders in the Egyptian project. Its is even fallacious to say that Egyptians would hv supported d sharia system just because majority are muslims. You've neglected the fact that a larger percentage of Egyptian muslims are moderate muslims just like in SW Nigeria while the rest uphold d strict form of Islam just like what we hv in some part of Northern Nigeria e.g Zamfara, Sokoto, Kano...etc. Most Egyptians are secularists who are against imposition of that strict form of Islam(sharia). Don't also forget that the Islamic world is divided btw the shiites and sunnis who hv totally opposite ideology about islam and the division btw them is worse than what we hv btw Islam and Christianity.Obviously, you know very little about what you are saying. If you did you won't refer to strict form of Islam as Shariah. And your response also shows you barely understood my post, I said: "...having a shariah inspired constitution implies that policies would not violate the Islamic Shariah, and in an Egypt with 90% Muslims, that wouldn't be an injustice, if they wanted it". "If they wanted it" implied if the people of Egypt wanted it or if they voted for it. And lastly, you should be the one to get your fact rights: Here are the sources: Egypt: Mohamed Morsi cancels decree that gave him sweeping powers - http://www.theguardian.com/world/2012/dec/09/egypt-mohamed-morsi-cancels-decree Egypt's Morsi annuls orders giving him sweeping powers, but keeps Dec. 15 constitution vote - http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/12/08/15776159-egypts-morsi-annuls-orders-giving-him-sweeping-powers-but-keeps-dec-15-constitution-vote?lite |
seyi42k: Stop repeating this. Democratically elected or not, democratic dictatorship is the worst of all.In as much as you have many valid points but assuming that Morsi will turn Egypt to terrorist state is not only fallacious but unfair. What is the basis for this assumption A section of the people of Egypt, rose against Morsi primarily for two reasons:1) He gave himself sweeping powers, somewhat like a dictator (His reasons, to strengthen his govt. against the remnants of Mubarak's loyalists, whom are still very strong and active) 2) The Economy was not doing not well. The issue with Morsi was hardly about islamization of Egypt. In 22nd November Morsi granted himself unlimited powers to "protect" the nation from the Mubarak-era power structure which remained in place and the power to legislate without judicial oversight or review of his acts, Protests broke out around Egypt in disagreement and on 8 December 2012, Morsi annulled this decree. On 30 June 2013, mass protests erupted across Egypt calling for the President's resignation, following severe fuel shortages and electricity outages. This was followed by the army's threat that if the protesters' demands were not met by 3 July it would step in and build a road map for the country. This is the summary of what happened in Egypt, It is quite unfortunate that in an attempt to legitimise the illegal overthrow of Morsi, many have attempted to accuse him of forcefully Islamising Egypt, which wasn't even the focus of the issue. The same tactic was used to overthrow Gaddafi, whom was an arch-enemy of the so called terrorist. In fact once the west does not feel comfortable with a middle-east govt., they simply tagged them with terrorism. So the question that should be answered is if it was right to give Morsi 48 hrs to meet the demand of Opposition protesters, whom were bent on exploiting the avenue to get him out of power. Lastly, let me say the word Islamization does not connote terrorism, havig a shariah inspired constitution implies that policies would not violate the Islamic Shariah, and in an Egypt with 90% Muslims, that wouldn't be an injustice, if they wanted it: Policies that may be affected include: i) Banking (Only Non-Interest banking will be allowed) ii)Sale / Manufacture of Alcohol may be banned etc. UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia are all countries that have shariah inspired constitution, and they are doing well. |
EmperorSeal: I'm not a supporter of Arebesola, but I boldly commend him on this.......the late Obadare was not just a man of God but a prophet in those hand God worked signs and wonders, he brought fame to his state and nurtured a very large congregation in his blind condition. His church "CAC" is actually the most populous yoruba church that I know, he was blind but read the bible fluently, he was decent and moderate in his doings. That man deserves our respect even in death and not what I'm seeing here........I'm sure we all remembered how billions was spent burying the late tinubu's mother and celebrating his birthday too, much more money was also expended burying that late Chinua Achebe, is it because most of us are turning atheist?........ Make una wake up abegI was going to against your post, but on 2nd thought I realised one can justify that amount only by understanding how important Obadare was to Osun state, if chinua Achebe or Ojukwu a warlord could deserve it, perhaps Obadare means that much too, to the people of Osun state. I leave the people of Osun state, to be the judge of that. |
scientology: it will surely come back....the solution is for you to get married...I was going to say that, sexual urge is a matural blessing from God, if you didn't have it, then you woild need to visit a doctor, also marriage is the blessing God that allows you to satisfy your sexual urge. Without it, you will usually find yourself falling into fornication or self-service. However, if actual marrital sex still doesn't prevent you from self-service, then you and your partner needs to interact more and find out how best to make your sex great. |
car-doctor:Your post is consistent with what I have read on many auto sites. I would like you to shed a bit more light on why the fuel injector cleaner, seemed to solve my P0420 code problem, and also if you may advice on what one can do to protect one's car from harm due to poor fuel quality. |
SHAAWA: willIt sounds like gabbage. I know it may difficult for me to be unbias, but I have tried so hard, to clear my mind of any bias, and it still sounds like a fairytale. Anyways, for those who want to take solace in the fictitious guy, accepting xtianity, i say to them that is an unworthy consolation, this guy (if he exists) should be at the least in the custody of SSS, providing info. |
3ace: I just smile each time people say pastors should scrutinise the donations of church members. How many of you will not take offence if you're being interrogated about the money you made legitimately? How many of you will maintain the initial friendly mood with which you came before being asked the question? Some things are easier said than done. Except the person is your child, it will be difficult to look the person in the eye and say "where did you get the money from?". Even if a pastor summons the courage to ask, what is the guarantee that a thief will tell you he stole it? I see no sense in pastors being indicted except it's been confirmed that such pastors connived to perfect the illegal act. The highest they can do if the pastor is not guilty is to ask for a refund. Simple!Perhaps, the reasons why people are quick to attack the pastors are that the pastors claim to be so anointed, that they converse with God directly, they perform miracles, they cast out witches from a distance, but why is that with their self-acclaimed closeness to God, they can't seem to recognise stolen or ill gotten wealth. And also in the past even when the wealth received by church has been discovered to be ill-gotten, they are reluctant to return it. Lastly, i believe most pastors of pentecoastal churches are highly reverred by their members so much that they run to them for the most important issues in their lives, I am sure if these pastors have cared to give them stern warnings against donating stolen wealth, they would mostly desist from it. But are the pastors willing to take the risk?? |
jp philips: pls what size of spacer do you use for the oxygen sensor? my only interest is to protect the sensor from excessive fumes due to degraded cat.i think it is the other way round, a degraded/blocked CAT, will increase back pressure, hence causing your power to drop and also reducing your mpg. However, a hollowed CAT may also be regarded as a degraded CAT, with the effect of reducing back pressure, increasing mpg, and in addition making your car have a deep tone. Well, my P0420 code has never returned since i ran my car using the Mobil Power injector cleaner. I have bought the highly recommended techron, to see if any extra improvements can be gained, esp. with mileage. |
What about looking at this as an ugly robbery incidence, over emphasising the tribe the robbers belong to appears to paint a different picture. Robbery is not peculiar to Fulani and Fulani robbers exist everywhere in this country, I narrowly escaped being robbed by them sometime ago in kaduna, they were dressed in military uniform and would readily gun anyone down, should you pose the slightest resistance. |
Pls take this thing off front page, it is demeaning for a prostitute to be making front page, who cares... She has demonstrated she is no better than a prostitute whom performs sex on camera for the amusement of a world audience, her words are worthless in my sight. |
Nigerians are an hypocritical lot, I once condemned the show as an "embarrassment to Africa", "a show of shame"; then I got heavily criticized. I am surprised at the outcry, Big Brother Africa is the most nonsensical show of all time, it makes absolutely no sense. I would not waste my time pouring insults on Beverly, but I'd rather ask us to come to our senses and abandon this worthless show that seeks to reduce the African youth to a "confused wannabe American thug". This is not just about Beverly Osu, none of the people in that house are worthy of representing their nation, it is a shame, it is a big shame... MultiChoice, Africa deserves better. |
Pancho01: There is sometin snaky about ds whol story. D serpent strangles sleeping sons,bt dd nt hav dem as a meal. Hmmm.... Meanwhl dey were liein stil, i tot snak dnt atak victims wo ar stl?I thought so too, but the story has got a link to dailymail.co.uk; can't doubt a news from a source like that... |
isick: Jaazitech, i can now see u are just a shameless biased brainwashed individual. I thot i read presecution now, u moselms presecute so much that u place huge curses on those that convert. Secondly, i read loudspeaker too, please who wakes up nigerians at 5.00am with their stupid loudspeakers for their morining prayer. Jaazitech, pls one more tin, give mi 10 world terrorists nd i will tell u all are moselms.Yes, we make call for prayers at around 5:00a.m, for nothing greater than 2 minutes, the speakers used are nothing compared to what a house fellowship of just 10 members in attendance will use, you may try to hide under the fact that we also make call for prayers but you woild be fooling yourself to deny the fact that your house fellowship and churches constitutes a far greater nuisance to the comunity they are situated in. You claim muslims in general place a curse on converts, if truly you are a honest person swear by God that you have witnessed such, also swear that you have never seen a convert living in their family house in peace. As regards terrorist, I will mention a few of the greatest, Adolph Hitler whose plan included wiping out the entire black race, George Bush whom went to Iraq on false accusation detonating bombs upon innocent civilians, Israel and her allies whom went to the land of the palestinians driving them away and forcing them under occupation, and yes Boko-Haram, and some other extremist groups. We are Muslims, as much as it hurts us, we are not one for falsehood, we will never deny wrongs or evils of so called Islamic extremist groups . They only account for a minute fraction of Muslims and they don't define our deen. |
deols: Lol.Do not bother yourself about these people, they are shallow minded people. Christians convert to Islam everyday, without anyone luring them with money or promising them anything. I have never known of any Christian that accepted the conversion of a family member to Islam in good faith, they always persecute them with untold hardship, they say we are intolerant, yet their actions shows they are the most intolerant, it is Christians who would choose to disturb everyone with their fellowship, they are so inconsiderate that they would put up loudspeakers in a residential area, to disturb everyone's peace all in the name of house fellowship. They are the ones who would scheme to force everyone, to join in their morning devotion, even at work. Allah guides whomever He wills, His guidance is a mercy on mankind. Allah has guided Aisha and I pray she remains in the path of rightful guidance. |
Michelin, Pirelli are some of the best quality out there. If you want something cheaper, you may try maxxis, I bought it sometime ago and it was quite impressive. |
kormene: I want to ask, does the mileage really mater as the driving condition and maintenance abroad keeps d car fit as if it were new.Mileage matters but not as much as the actual condition of the car and previous maintenance practices. This is what I mean take a 2003 Honda Accord with 100k on it, but the car happened to be use by an irresponsible American dude chances are that the owner never serviced the car as at when due, chances are that He never even checked the transmission oil etc, now compare this situation to a 2003 car with 200k miles on it but owned by a company chances are that the car was serviced as at when due by honda dealers, chances are that faulty parts were replaced with OEM parts, I have no doubt in my mind that the 200k mileage would be the better of the two. |
calculusx: [size=18pt]To the best of my knowledge, mileage is just a number and the reason is simply because a low mileage Car, if not properly maintained and serviced regularly will not perform better when compared to a high mileage Car that is properly and regularly maintained.I am beginning to reason this way too. I bought an over 200k miles unknowingly, when I discovered, I was almost worried sick, I kept thinking the transmission could park up anytime, I kept looking for faults in the car, I never really found any, except the normal wear and tear e.g brake pads, serpentine belt, air filter etc. I think the advice should be if you are buying an over 200k.miles car, understand that perhaps the car is at half life already, for example a 2003 car with 200k on it , may be at half-life already , which means you could also still get another good 8 years out of it, if you use the best available parts for repairs and servicing. |

May Allah have mercy on us all and forgive us our sins. It is therefore important for us to seek forgiveness from Allah at all times especially in this month of Ramadan. It always scares me to think about it, one never knows if this is his last Ramadan, or even his last hours. May Allah preserve. our lives to witness many more Ramadans |
toshmann: You're wrong. Prostitution has a lot to do with poverty. Having an expensive phone doesn't mean you ain't poor. Poor background can also lead to mental and intellectual poverty. While studying in the UK I met a number of European and American students who didnt own a mobile phone at all. They say they don't need it.Prostitution thrives where the environment or society allows it to thrive. There is no where in the world, where paid sex will not patronized, if you allow it to exist. I doubt poverty has that much to do it, although hopelessness and the fact that the option exists, is what makes it viable. The best way to curtail it is to legislate against prostitution and crack down on prostitutes. |
digitalnaira: Bad business this ramadan period. So na muslims be thier major customers. Abeg na my observation oh no be say I mean anything by saying so.Did you also observe that Christians are majorly the prostitutes. |
