Lol, the uncle who almost did what? I had only one uncle on my father's side. He was my father's eldest brother. My father had a twin, but his twin died before I was born & because of that, he really bonded with his living brother.
Anyway, when my mother was pregnant with me she was sick often & my father couldn't take care of her because he had to work. The uncle then told my father to bring my mother over there at the village, so his wife could look after her until she gives birth. That's why I was born at their house. I was a baby when we left, so I really have no special memories of the place.
The uncle I'm talking about is the same one in my topic about justice.

My father's funeral.

I was referring to that uncle who almost wanted to do the dirty with you when you were younger,but now I remember you said that was 2000.Thanks for opening up,now I understand better.You were too young when you lost your parents babes ,not to evoke those memories but I take it must have been the hardest times in your life.I apologise in advance if I'm being too deep.

There's really nothing to miss because I didn't grow up there. I used to visit my father's relatives (the crooked uncle) when I was much younger. The last time I was there was in 1997 for the funeral, after that I never went again.
You're right, it's very tranquil. We used to play around everywhere without fear. It was safe. IDK now.

lol I was too lazy to write King William's Town in full,hence KWT,sorry about.Very beautiful pictures,the scenery looks so lush for relaxation.Don't you just miss home when you look at all these pictures,especially when the urban life gets stressful?

My family we're form Ciskei. I was actually born in a small village in King William's Town, that's where my dad is originally from, but of course I grew up in EL. Never been to the Transkei even though one of my aunts married a guy from there.

Hmmm I don't remember which part the wedding was in but they also did an EL tour,I'll ask them.Isn't Unathi also from KWT? she used to talk about it a lot back in her Metro FM days.

What you're saying is true to an extent, but there're also other influences like educational background. You won't find someone who went to a good school speaking with a "comrade accent" as you call it. They pronounce words correctly, which makes their accent a little different & I'm not talking about the "twangers", but people like Trevor. Anyway, do we even have a standard accent as black South Africans? Because the likes of lamama who's a minister of education (Naledi Pandor), Ramaphosa & other public figures, they all sound distinguishable.

Oh yeah,true that.Private school kids are more likely to speak with a model C accent as it is called.When Jon Stuart first I introduced Trevor some Americans thought he was British,I still remember his critics asking "why is this British guy hosting a show about American politics?".Honestly,we don't have a standard accent which pretty much explain why our accents are one of the hardest to copy,even American actors don't know how to sound South African when they portray a South African character.

Exactly.Actually,South African accents sometimes vary according to native language with which one speaks and the region one grew up in.Some people would argue that SA accent is a bit closer to British accent because of the colonial influence of course.How Malema speaks may be because of the Pedi dialect in Seshego or he is just doing it on purpose to annoy white people.The outsiders think we all speak with the "comrade accent" and that's so further from the truth.
