Pastors should worry less about tithe collection and more on the safety of their congregation. They should do services virtually.

But I trust them.

Pastor will suggest doing sermon ONLINE.

But Congregation MUST attend PHYSICALLY.

Tithe must be collected.
Most Nigerian pastors are snake-oil salesmen who care ONLY about fleecing the flock for cash, even if the entire congregation is placed in danger as a result of that greed for donated money.

Given growing doubts about the sincerity and capability of the Nigerian armed forces to act upon intelligence gathered by surveillance drones that were bought with great fanfare over the past few years. all SOS appeals concerning Nigeria's ongoing Islamist genocide of Christians MUST be directed to the Unites States military, for urgent consideration by Pentagon strategists.

Setting aside all humanitarian concerns, the USA has an overwhelming strategic interest in maintaining a STABLE Nigeria, so that crucial oil exports from Nigeria, and the physical safety of American oil industry staff, are not jeopardized at the worst possible time when the Iran War has all but closed the Strait of Hormuz, where a large percentage of Middle Eastern oil exports are shipped globally.

The US military should consider playing a dominant role in the defense of Nigeria against the Islamist hordes currently sweeping southwards across the northern desert badlands that are already overrun by terrorists infiltrating Nigeria from their strongholds in West Africa's Sahel region. Nigeria must not be allowed to find itself in the position of nearby Mali, whose military top brass are being picked off by Islamist terror invaders with alarming precision, and whose president is either in hiding, or has fled the country, as these urgent words are typed.

Anishinaabe:
The majority of comments on this issue prove, once again, the hypocrisy and ignorance of the average Nigerian Christian observer.

It is almost as if many have refused to free themselves from the shackles of intellectual slavery, mass propaganda, and deliberate misdirection. Those waging this war have largely succeeded in their hate-mongering — every script methodically played with precision.

I'm my opinion here is how it actually unfolded:

It began with uncontrolled open grazing and porous borders. A useless intelligence community watched and did nothing, operating under the assumption that a large country could absorb anything and anyone.

This led to temporary settlement. "They speak our language," people said. The fact that these settlers followed different religious practices was considered irrelevant, so long as they kept to themselves.

Their population inevitably grew. The land did not. The capacity to sustain that many people and animals collapsed, leading to farmer-herder clashes with the host communities that had generously allowed them to settle — a familiar pattern for those paying attention.

Then came communal reprisals. Lives were lost. A slow and indifferent government failed to act swiftly, failed to criminalise the murders with the full weight of the law, and instead looked away — allowing grievances to fester and hatred to take root.

Then came the mercenaries. Porous borders, which had earlier rolled out a red carpet for economic migrants, now did the same for armed criminals. They looked like us. They dressed like us. They spoke like us. National security was quietly compromised.

At first, they carried sticks and machetes. Their objective was not straightforward: take cattle by force wherever they found them came much later. What began as small skirmishes — petty theft, minor confrontations. A weak government dismissed it as "cattle rustling." When was the last time that phrase made headlines?

Then with Libya collapsing the aftermath was AK-47s trickling from there down the Sahara desert into the region like confetti — more accessible, suddenly, than sticks and machetes. And notice: through all of this, not once did religion make headlines. Not once.

Porous borders. Easy access to weapons. Ungoverned spaces. Gangs began to form. Giant of Africa was growing a giant malignancy. Rustled cattle were sold off to purchase the latest commodity in town: assault rifles. Still no mention of religion. Still no preaching. No open or hidden prostelsizing Just a steady, daily influx of armed criminals who did not look like locals and spoke something close to the local dialect.

They knew the land and terrain intimately. They began carving out territories. But guns do not feed people — you cannot plant a rifle. People get hungry. They use the tools at their disposal. And since the influx had been almost entirely male, they needed women too.

From there, the escalation was logical, if brutal. The first wave seized control of local artisanal mines. Easy money attracted more. They invested in weaponry and expanded their territories. A second wave, late to the mining opportunity, turned on locals — demanding payments, running extortion rackets.

This evolved into kidnapping. Trial and error at first. Then, with time and impunity, they perfected it. Government and its so-called intelligence units watched and snored. After all, it was only poor people being taken — it would die out on its own, they reasoned.

Then, brazenly, the Kaduna-Abuja highway became a hunting ground. At one point, it was the only road in the country widely considered unsafe.

Still — no mention of religion. No targeting by faith. Victims, upon return, consistently reported no religious indoctrination, no preaching, no texts. What they described were men doing drugs and, increasingly, filming content for social media. They targeted no one and everyone. If anything, more Muslims were among those kidnapped.

A third wave went directly into homes. Muslim, Christian, traditionalist — it did not matter. The only qualification was the appearance of wealth.

Then the media woke up. Armed with lazy intellectualism, clickbait instincts, a deeply divided populace, and a world already saturated with anti-Islam sentiment, journalists and commentators did what was easiest: they tagged the criminals by appearance and called it "Islamic terrorism."

And so, ladies and gentlemen, that is the manufactured birth of "Islamic terrorism" in Nigeria.
This is an insightful summary of how Nigeria arrived at the state of near anarchy engulfing it now from north to south.

The time is right for Uncle Sam to administer a few more corrective missile strikes on terrorist enclaves spotted from above in ALL regions of Nigeria. The audacity and brutality of Islamist terror gangs fanning out across Nigeria's hinterland are on the rise, with high-casualty massacre events being reported by the media in Nigeria on a DAILY basis.

The precision missile launches that generously acquainted a few dozen Islamist terror gang members with their ancestors on the night of Christmas day 2025, were a promising start to what is hoped will become a long-term big-stick policy for subduing the beast of Islamist terror in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Pentagon overhead imagery analysts poring over real-time footage of Nigeria's landscape under high magnification, no doubt compile evolving target lists of Islamist training camps, terrorist-occupied towns long vacated by the populace, and movement corridors favored by terrorist slave-raiding motorcades.

With the impact of the Iran war on global fuel supplies already biting hard worldwide, the strategic importance of Nigeria's treasured Bonny Light crude oil cannot be overstated in this time of uncertainty regarding Middle Eastern crude oil exports. Chevron and other major American players in the Nigerian oil sector cannot afford to allow the country to descend into a Somalia scenario under the onslaught of Islamist terror gangs, therefore America's military imperative for Nigeria is justified and overdue both from a humanitarian perspective, AND from the standpoint of protecting America's multi-billion-dollar investments in the Nigerian economy which is inextricable from that nation's oil sector.

This is really traumatizing to watch. You can see no shred of human compassion as the terrorists all vie for a chance to inflict suffering of their helpless victims.

One can only hope that the US military does not become so embroiled in the Iran war, that they abandon Nigeria to its gruesome fate that is spreading slowly but surely from north, to Middle Belt, to the whole south.

Dude is just a sanctimonious noisemaker who enjoys street protests and obviously learnt nothing from Buhari's political career even though he thinks he knows it all.
Gullible cult followers of Mr. Sowore misconstrue his constant drunken ululations, his boorish publicity stunts, and his unprovoked shouting matches with armed police officers, as evidence of bravery and statesmanship, rather than the displays of arrogant buffoonery that such antics typify in reality.

Considering Sowore's hysterical screeching at armed police officers as a telling example, one gets a glimpse into the despotic, erratic and volatile character that defines that pathetic little overgrown-toddler's essence, and which would become weaponized as dark vindictive tyranny if such an unstable character should ever find himself elevated any position of authority above that of local government sanitary inspector or stray dog catcher.

Sad state of mind, so docile and have no value for their life.
Religious indoctrination makes people docile because they assign their destiny and all security precautions to God. That amusing culture of saying "God forbid bad ting" whenever the subject of danger to life and property is mentioned, results in the abandonment of common sense and of personal responsibility for one's own safety.

Tell a Christian about the massacre of fellow Christians in a distant or near part of Nigeria, and their response will be "It is not my portion", or "it is well", when clearly it is not well for those actually being killed by terrorists.

That deluded expectation that the Sky Daddy has been assigned sole responsibility for the safety of every person who demands via prayers for such divine protection explains why Nigerians will blithely board night buses that travel deserted highways at the most dangerous times, confident that their prayers are a viable substitute for rational thought and risk avoidance.

My concern, this public display without legal representation, is it in anyway correct?
A recent directive forbids suspects' faces from being displayed during "parades" of arrested people by the police in Nigeria, and this is why the man caught with a pistol was only filmed from the neck down.

That said, this suspect's recently mandated entitlement to pre-prosecution anonymity was breached by the police spokesman who ordered the suspect to identify himself by name. A competent legal practitioner might be able to cite that premature disclosure of his arrested client's identity as a mitigating factor that challenges the merit and credibility of the illegal firearm possession charge being filed.

Handguns are absolutely illegal for civilians in Nigeria. If you are openly advertising handguns in Nigeria, then you are either an undercover agent setting up a sting operation to net illegal weapons buyers, OR you are being very careless with your own safety by announcing your involvement in the sale of illegal weapons. Either way, I pity anyone who takes you up on this kind of offer.

I just hope the rules stay clear so small farmers can join in and earn too. If the export side is well managed, it could create real jobs and fresh revenue fast.
This is an important point you have raised about legalized cannabis regulation because in South Africa, for example, small time farmers have not been able to afford the astronomical fees charged for commercialized cannabis production, which is dominated by huge corporations and overseas investors. This mistake of making legal cannabis production so costly, will diminish the economic benefits of the entire program, by excluding much of the populace from opportunities to become stakeholders in the new cannabis economy.

I too have extensive experience with firearms, owned all kinds of weapons, automatics, semi-auto, you name it. Shotguns were designed for bringing down large, heavy targets, and in that they excel. They are not meant for situations that involve rapid fire(which can be very helpful in self defense) and they are definitely not accurate at long ranges. If your idea of efficiency is blowing someones head clean off with one well placed shot then sure, I concede to your point, but, if efficient self defense involves stopping an aggressor with minimal effort and training then shotguns are out of the question.
It is good to hear that you also possess firearm expertise, Alusiizizi. My reason for extolling the suitability of shotguns over handguns or assault rifles for the specific circumstance of home defense, is because most home invasions occur swiftly, with intruders breaching a home using metal cutters to remove burglary bars, or battering ram impacts to shatter door locks.

A typical 12-guage shotgun cartridge of American-standard "Double-Ought" buckshot contains 9 to 12 weighty pellets that fan out in a conical blast envelope whose radius increases inversely with barrel length. Thus, a pump or semi-auto shotgun whose barrel has been deliberately cut short to maximize the area of impact for close range combat, can be used to "sweep" rooms or hallways using multiple rapid sequence blasts that will pulverize intruders without any requirement for the defender to taker careful aim.

In comparison, a 9mm semi-auto handgun, even if equipped with a "red dot" laser sight, requires careful and precise aim in order to stop an intruder with the first shot, or with all follow-up shots taken in the heat of the moment when the outcome of a gunfight often depends on lightning reflexes compressed into a time-frame of split seconds.

A shotgunner wielding a pump action scattergun, on the other hand, can easily eliminate threats indoors or in the close quarters of a fenced yard, using a series of rapid shots placed in the general direction of the perceived danger. Those shotgun blasts do not require precise aim as do pistol or rifle shots, and can thus be administered with blinding speed and to devastating effect. Shotguns were very popular with US marines patrolling the claustrophobic jungles of Viet Nam, for this very reason.

From a safety standpoint, a shotgun fired within a house or compound is far less likely than a pistol to over-penetrate and send pellets into nearby residences, or into the street outside. The absolute least suitable and most hazardous weapon for home-defense is of course a rifle, because rifle rounds can blow through walls to kill unintended innocents impacted hundreds of yards from the scene of the action.

Thank you for your opinion, sir. It might interest you to know that I have fired thousands of rounds from a variety of guns both at the shooting range, and while hunting everything from fast flying partridge erupting from the undergrowth, to big game in full gallop.

Over many years, therefore, I honed a level of marksmanship prowess, both as a rifleman, and as a shotgunner hunting fast moving targets, that many a police officer would envy.

Returning to the topic at hand, I again state that a shotgun in the right hands is an absolutely DEVASTATING home defense weapon that is vastly superior to a pistol in any home defense scenario one could envision.

Have a delightful day.

Simply because a drone was spotted in the sky a day before crime occurred does NOT constitute proof that the drone which was sighted belonged to criminals. That drone could easily have belonged to a resident of your area who flies surveillance missions for the purpose of detecting suspicious vehicles or individuals in the neighborhood so as to report them to the police.

Alternatively, the drone could have belonged to the police, the DSS or even the military, who are all known to operate fleets of drones for surveillance and for ground attack.

Unlike the USA where any person over the age of 21 with a clean criminal record can own as many guns as they like including pistols, the Nigerian firearms laws ONLY allow for serving or retired military and police officers to own a pistol.

Shotguns and rifles that are NOT cut short can be licensed and owned by civilians in Nigeria, but again it is NOT possible for any civilian to legally buy and license a handgun of any type in Nigeria.

Anyone in Nigeria who is seeking to buy a pistol online could easily wind up contacting undercover DSS agents that will pose as gun sellers, while anyone offering to sell a handgun in Nigeria could also get caught in the net of undercover agents with arrest and prosecution in mind.

This man comes across as a law-abiding citizen who armed himself with an illegal pistol NOT to commit crimes, but to protect himself from criminals who carry firearms and can only be deterred by an armed citizen who is willing to stand his ground and reject the role of a submissive victim.

The cardinal mistake made by the man caught with a pistol, was his decision to arm himself with an illegal handgun, rather than going through the proper channels to obtain a licensed shotgun or rifle. Outside of serving and retired military or police officers, NO Nigerian is allowed to own a concealable gun, be that a pistol or a shortened shotgun. For home defense, a standard shotgun is far more effective than a pistol, in trained hands.

Hopefully the judge slated to try this case will temper justice with mercy.
