The sentence should be reduced to life ankle bracelet. He can fly round the world but with the bracelet. Then we reduce it to 3 years ankle, then 1 year ankle, then after 6 months we remove the bracelet once and for all.
The supervised release option might have been a reasonable expectation were it not for the hundreds of Igbo people who were gunned down on Kanu's orders. He will spend at least 5 years in various Nigerian prisons before any discussion of his freedom could logically be expected.

It says a lot that all the local alleged suspects are from North-West. But then you wonder what the ex CBN governor from South was doing ? This things are very easy to spot. Not rocket science. Kudos to 47th POTUS for the maximum pressure.
Indeed an overwhelming 99% of the usual suspects behind northern Nigeria's terrorist invasion all do seem to hail from one particular geographic realm, as it were. Donning my conical thinking cap, I now ponder the myriad response options Uncle Sam could apply now that the previously hidden villains have been unmasked.

It remains to be seen whether the Somalia drone-strike template that Uncle Sam applied in Somalia winds up being deemed appropriate for Nigeria. Under the Somalia Drone Doctrine, ordnance was delivered to atomize not only Islamist combatants, weapon caches, training grounds, and convoys, but terror leadership figures and financiers as well.

This is an exciting time to be alive. Anyone who is aware of the fates of Gothic horror that befall kidnap victims in Nigeria, often after ransoms have been paid, would rejoice heartily if news filters out that those who paid for the guns are fair game to the prowling US drones already aloft in Nigeria's unfriendly skies, poised to let fly when the order comes down.

Kanu is not in Sokoto prison by choice. The man has been trying to escape there. He should count himself lucky.
Rather than issuing haughty fresh demands from his luxury VIP prison cell, Kanu should focus on reinventing himself as a remorseful realist who is now willing to parlay the vestiges of his political influence to renounce violence and thus save Igbo lives, while concurrently promoting reconciliation and dialog even if he clings to to his separatist ideology as the months behind bars turn to years.

Very good. The government should charge them to court. If convicted, let them serve life sentence with hard labour.
The United States military will have a deep curiosity about the movements, residences, GLOBAL cash flow, contacts and communications of these northern Nigerian terrorist financiers. Whether those who pay for the bloodshed that terrorists inflict are as qualified as the shooters to become the focus of US military attention, remains a subject of tantalizing speculative conjecture for man pikin.

I hope they are giving Ak47 and not pump action because bandits go just finish them off.
At ranges less than 50 yards trading gunfire, a semi-auto shotgun will give good account of itself in trained hands, even against AK men firing in spray-and-pray mode.

When the range extends out beyond 50 yards, but less than 100 yards, the Kalash is King of the battlefield. Beyond 100 yards of land separating opposed forces using light arms, any well-maintained assault rifle such as the M16-A2, the M4, and the AR family of guns, fitted with a telescopic sight will give a tactical edge over those firing without the use of mounted 'scopes.

In summary, it is advisable that the new forest guard platoons should include both riflemen and shotgunners, especially since the enemy is already using hobby-sized drones to drop rifle grenades on federal troop positions. Nothing beats a semi-auto shotgun for shooting down low-flying drones.

Psychological warfare is a key element of combat that is used to destabilize and demoralize the enemy. Put the fear of God into the enemy, and in so doing reduce their confidence that they can launch attacks with the same impunity as the past.

With this protocol in mind, announcing that Uncle Sam is all set to bomb terrorists to smithereens should be music to all peace loving people, just as such news will torment the terror gangs whose slave-raids are spreading inexorably southwards in Nigeria's troubled land.

Observers of FlightRadar24 have noted that a number recon flights are currently mapping all known terrorist enclaves in northern and Middle Belt Nigeria. The flight path of a recon operation is similar to the "lawn mowing" flight path that geological survey aircraft follow when exploring the ground below for the presence of precious metals like gold and lithium.

An example of such a recent precious metals detection flight is shown in the below screenshot from Flight Radar24 a couple of months ago, which in this case was flown by a Cessna 208 Caravan fitted with a pole-like magnetometer device installed as a tail boom, also shown in this screenshot.

Obviously, US drones will fly at sufficient altitude to evade anti-aircraft fire or detection on the ground by the enemy. Looking forward to news of a those first few missile launches to eradicate terrorist camps and convoys with military dispatch and surgical precision.

Watched it ... Very traumatic film...
I love the production unlike other Nollywood films...
"The Herd" is by far the most terrifying Nigerian-made movie I have ever seen in my entire life. Form that unforgettable heart-stopping moment when the cattle herdsman, whose cows have blocked a remote highway and trapped some cars full of passengers, suddenly pulls out an AK47 from under his gowns and commences to unleash bursts of full-auto fire, the palpable horror that the trapped motorists subsequently endure keeps the viewer riveted to the screen, transfixed by a visceral admixture of disbelief and abject horror that only intensifies as the story unfolds.

The macabre acts of gleeful sadism carried out with such a casual air of indifference by the kidnapper gang of Fulani men are surreal yet tragically true to real-life depictions of the gory fates that befall kidnap victims in Nigeria from the moment they find themselves staring into the muzzle of an abductor's rifle through the window of their trapped car.

This movie called "The Herd" is in a class of its own, and MUST be watched by anyone on this planet who remains in doubt about the magnitude of the Islamist invasion of terror and genocide that is unfolding in Nigeria today in 2025. There is a likelihood that this movie "The Herd" will become a strong contender for an Oscar award in Hollywood, California, once this harrowing tale from the depths of hell gains the global audience that is assured, given the caliber of the performances of the entire cast who brought this epic tale to life.

Zia is no cause fwa alarm, pellow kwantiri-mans. The US drones are here on a mission to eradicate Islamist terror gangs that have turned Nigeria into a pariah rogue state with roving outlaws running amok while freely kidnapping people by the score for ransom and internal organs.

Sanity must be restored one missile launch at a time, and thanks to the surveillance and ground attack drones Uncle Sam has been so kind as to deploy to Nigeria, sanity WILL be restored in the immediate future.

Many will be hearing for the first time in this thread that Nigerian troops in conflict areas were up till now required to await a command before opening fire on terrorists. That delay in taking action as events dictate is part of the reason that Goliath Russia's military might has been unable to subdue Ukraine's little David armed forces.

Hopefully the new Minister of Defense will at the very least cooperate closely with US drone operators so as to optimize their decapitation missile strikes against known terror kingpins in northern Nigeria, AND their clandestine supporters.

Look on the bright side, Nigeria is 8th most insecure country on earth. At least these ones can still sit in their homes. There are millions of people sitting in IDP camps all over the North due to insecurity that have lost all hope of ever sitting in their homes, half a million of them in are in Benue State alone. Not that you people ever think about them anyway. The only time you guys remember insecurity is it has to do with the South East
I beg to differ, Oga GiddyGiddy. The anarchy spreading in the north of Nigeria should be a matter of great concern to anyone who lives, visits or has relatives residing in Nigeria. One need only look at the massacres occurring on a daily basis in nearby Sudan, to fathom just how bad things can get while the international community turns a blind eye.

I am not a religious man, but now every day I pray that Uncle Sam will deploy drones to cull all terrorist gang leaders and their henchmen BEFORE they spread their terror network to engulf the entire nation from the desert to the sea.

Such "citizens of the world" usually wind up in jail or in a shootout with the cops, sadly. They are great entertainment though, and always good for a laugh.

One can only hope that you are not one of the gunmen that continues to attack innocent people in Igboland despite cult leader Kanu having been booted into his jail cell where had been so long overdue.

Politics › Re: FG Demands Death Sentence For Nnamdi Kanu by Jakumo(m):
Cruzmaster:
Is he the one that invited Fulani herdsmen that are kpaing people and graping women in the SE?
While Kanu may not have invited Islamist terrorists from Mali and Niger to attack towns, destroy crops and kidnap people by the dozen in Nigeria's south east, the WORDS that Kanu spoke and wrote online proved to be as deadly as any invading militia gunman wielding a Kalashnikov rifle.

For the sake of argument consider, if you will, a sadistic and homicidal maniac who, as a member of an Islamist slave-raiding marauder mob, gleefully shot dead 5 or even 50 innocent people in cold blood thus far in his career. Now, by ANY rational yardstick of morality or law, such a bloodthirsty person is beyond the pale and eminently qualified for inclusion among other villains comprising the US drone target list that is likely soon to be implemented for Nigeria as it has been for unannounced years in Somalia, Yemen and Iraq.

Then on the other hand look a the hundreds of innocent civilians and law enforcement officers gunned down and slaughtered all across Igboland as a direct result of the WORDS spoken and written in anger online by Nazi Nnamdi Kanu, the founder and unapologetic perpetrator of that infernal "sit-at-home" reign of terror that is STILL ongoing in Nigeria's restive south east.

You see, Mr. Sit-At-Home-Apostle, in the context of laws relevant to malicious incitement resulting in acts of culpable homicide, it matters not whether a murder was committed when the accused personally shot someone using a gun, or "merely" encouraged someone else to shoot the victim. The fact that Kanu made a career out of encouraging arson, gunplay, and the wanton massacre of his own people makes Kanu just as guilty as are the Islamist terrorist gunmen already being designated for summary deletion by US drone missile barrages scheduled for northern Nigeria.

In conclusion sir, the south of Nigeria, from East to West is unified in its enthusiastic approval and unflinching support for American military assistance to combat the rising wave of Islamic terror that is currently bleeding southwards from Northern and Middle Belt Nigeria. We hate Islamists and we rejoice when we see them burnt to ashes by precision air-strikes.

In the same breath we hate with equal passion any person who dares with force of arms seek to deny us that most fundamental of all inalienable democratic rights: that of free movement on the streets and highways. Kanu is an unrepentant death squad cult leader and enemy of free movement, who will never smell so much as a prospect of freedom until he publicly renounces violence and apologizes to the families of the hundreds of people needlessly killed on his insane orders.

Hopefully you will be rounded up as an accomplice of the life-jailed cult leader Kanu, and with a little luck, you might even qualify to join Kanu in that hellishly hot Sokoto prison.
Politics › Re: Nnamdi Kanu: Monday Sit At Home Bites Harder In Aba- Picture by Jakumo(m):
Wonderment. So even after Kanu has been made a guest of the state in jail, his gunmen continue to inflict terror on his own people in Igboland.

If only Kanu the terrorist financier were bright enough to rehabilitate his image in a bid to seek redemption and perhaps even a reduction in the length of his prison sentence, he would send urgent messages to his cult followers from his jail cell, asking for his infernal "sit-at-home" reign of terror be ended once and for all, so that Igbo people could once again enjoy freedom of movement that is the cornerstone of democracy.

Sadly, Mr. Kanu is NOT a very intelligent man, so he sits like a contented dimwit in his jail cell delivering his nonsensical rambling speeches to the rats and roaches that keep him company during his solitary confinement, without a care in the world about the ongoing repression of human rights that is STILL persisting in Igboland, wreaking ruination on the regional economy and terrorizing the populace.

It is not necessarily true that all US military action worldwide is announced. An example is the decade-old vermin-culling project that has been quietly liquefying terrorist kingpins in Somalia with precision drone strikes that are rarely if ever made public.

A quiet pest eradication program of this nature would be IDEAL for Nigeria, so that the terror problem can be addressed with drone-delivered ordnance courtesy of Uncle Sam, while Nigeria's president and military leaders can simply maintain a dignified Omerta code of silence until the smoke finally clears and Nigeria's current nightmare is brought to a merciful end.

The US does not and has never needed the permission of the Nigerian government. When a US citizen was kidnapped in Niger state during Buhari's first term, the US performed a clinical insertion of 15 Delta force soldiers flown into Nigeria in a V22 Osprey. Reaper and predator drones were flying above constantly to provide real time updates on the target area. The US were able to kill the kidnappers and freed their man. It was as they had cleared Nigerian airspace when leaving, that they called Buratai to inform him that they'd come to clean up some shi(t) in his backyard.
Sho y'right . I raise a toast to all cleanup projects by Uncle Sam. Here's to getting Nigeria squeaky clean, one hellfire missile at a time.

The present pentagon leaks like a sieve. And it borders on irresponsibility and laziness not to look for information that is readily available. When the pentagon drafted plans to present to Donald Trump for a Nigerian invasion, within minutes those plans were flying through the net. The New York times is a verifiable source for a lot of information from the pentagon plus a number of other sources.

And there are websites that keep a keen eye on monitoring deployments of US military assets. You can get information right now for example, on the number, names and capabilities of US naval assets currently off the coast of Venezuela.

It is known for a fact that if Maduro does not step down this week, the US will invade Venezuela starting off with a wave of precision bombing runs against Venezuelan command and control centres.

If you are lazy to source for information, not everyone is.
As a lazy man, I am content to watch and wait.

Hmmmm. I doubt if this is true. The US knows that for them to be able to do this, they must first get the approval of the Nigerian Government.
Let me play devil's advocate by suggesting there is a possibility that Nigeria's president has already granted permission for the US to launch precision drone-strikes that neatly vaporize terrorist gangs and their leaders.

If this is the case, then perhaps a news blackout was agreed upon, so that the Nigerian president can publicly condemn the US drone strikes, while privately thanking the US for helping to keep Nigeria safe from the invaders currently laying siege on most of the nation.

This speculative guess is noted for all it is worth. Unless you are a Pentagon spokesperson, any declarations that you make can only be taken with a pinch of salt. For well over a decade now, going back to the Obama presidency, US drones have been systematically liquidating selected Islamist warlords and terrorists in Somalia, with no fanfare or announcements.

It thus stands to reason that a similar culling exercise could have been approved for Nigeria, but without any publicity that would put the Nigerian president under the spotlight of those shadowy figures in northern Nigeria who are funding and arming terror gangs for political ends, and without a care in the world about what those gangs do on a freelance basis when they are "off duty".
