PoliticsRe: Jonathan Accepted Defeat In 2015 Due To Imminent Recession — Fashola by jamjo: 9:44pm On Oct 26, 2018
Binikingdowm:
The Minister for Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has said former President Goodluck Johnathan only conceded defeat after the 2015 elections because he knew the nation would witness economic recession soon.

Mr Jonathan, before the announcement of the final results, in a move that shocked many political pundits, conceded defeat to the current president, Muhamadu Buhari, after a keenly contested polls.

That was the first time an incumbent would be losing the top seat (and conceding victory) to an opposition party in Nigeria.

Mr Jonathan has been celebrated globally for his action, which many believe saved the country from political turmoil.

The economy plunged into recession shortly after in 2015. The recession raged in 2016 and through late 2017 when the nation then emerged from it.

However, Mr Fashola, a former governor of Lagos State, said on Thursday at a South-west town hall meeting that Mr Jonathan only relinquished power because he wanted to avoid being at the helm of affairs during the recession.

The meeting was organised by the Minister for Information, Lai Mohammed, and held at the Emeritus Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall, opposite University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Mr Fashola at the meeting also said the Goodluck government not only plunged the nation into recession but pushed it into debts.

”What was left behind were massive debts owed to contractors who had not been paid for three to five years and who had laid off thousands of workers and shut down equipment and plants.

”That was one of the reasons why the economy first went into, and, I suspect, one of the reasons they (Goodluck administration) quickly conceded defeat,” Mr Fashola said.

Please do anyone knows what Buhari or Buharist have given Fashola that is making him lose some brain cells, really he is losing it.

PropertiesRe: The Construction Of The Abeokuta City Centre Begins by jamjo: 3:58pm On Oct 23, 2018
Raydos:
The construction of the proposed Ogun State City Centre has begun in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The project will accommodate the shopping mall of Africa’s largest goods retailer, Shoprite, a 12-storey banking facility, hotel, amphitheatre and service apartment. The governor said though the project would be private sector-driven, the state government would build the amphitheatre.

He added that two banks – Guarantee Trust Bank and First Bank Plc – were already building their corporate buildings, which include a 12-storey building, from where banking activities in West Africa will be controlled.

The centre, Amosun said, will also harbour the central station for Federal Government’s rail project. The governor assured the residents that the project would be completed in 24 months.

Commissioner for Housing Segun Abiodun said the project is among many, which would attract investors to do business and reside in the state.

The promoter of Shoprite Supermarket Mr. Tayo Amusan said when completed, the project would be the second largest of its type in the country.

Here are some few pictures taken from the construction site
I'm happy when I see a project is being constructed according to specification with quality. My governor Okorocha should come and learn a thing from this particular project in Ogun state. The project is still in the early stage but when you look at it is appealing to the eye and there is no argument about the quality of work be done.

What a myopic thinking, Please if I may ask, what have those politicians who have been governors, senators or counselors did for you with all their experience? Buhari was once a president of this country with that experience one would have thought that the mistake he made then would be corrected now that he has another chance to do better. Inasmuch experience matters a lot, it is not the yardstick in solving certain problems, Sometimes it requires new ideas and that is what Nigeria as a country needs right now. Our old politicians who have all the experience in this world have not come close in solving Nigeria problems why because they continue the same script of doing the same thing the same way and expecting different result I have said it, it will never happen. Nigeria as a country right now needs different ideas, systems and different people who will move our country in a new direction.

1. They said Buhari is old so we expected them to present a 40 year old man or woman. Atiku is 71.
2. They said Buhari is a Muslim and preached against him in churches, they are now going for Atiku Abubakar who is a Muslim and has 3 wives.
3. They said Buhari is Fulani. Buhari is a Fulani whose first language is hausa and can hardly make one correct sentence in Fulani. But Atiku is a Fulani whose fist language is the Fulani language - his mother tongue.
4. They said Atiku is very rich and understands economics because he can make money without working for it, just from government coppers.
5. Atiku has been described as a criminal internationally and nationally, his boss OBJ has said that innumerable times on Audio on Video and in writing but instead of Atiku going to court to clear his name he went to Ota to beg for pardon. It is unbelievable that IPOBs and others like them are now Atiku boys and girls.
Let me reiterate Buhari as Nigerian president is a failure, and it is about time people like you understands that reinforcing failure on Nigerians will lead us into a failed state. And as for Atiku, he will never be my option for the country. You should understand that majority of Nigerians who are supporting Atiku don't necessarily think he will be a great president no, just that he will be better than Buhari , the later of two evils. Another thing is that so many Nigerians like you have internalized oppression to the extent that it has deprived you all of making a proper decision, if not why will anyone want to reinforce failure or why Nigerians continue to do the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome it can never happen. It is time Nigerians look beyond APC and PDP try doing something different for a change. Kingsley Moghalu, Oby Ezekwesili, and Omoyele Sowore will make good decisions for Nigeria if Nigerians would think outside the box.

Governor Rochas Okorocha, has lamented the high rate of damages rainfall in Imo State has caused his administration.

The governor who said the rainfall has destroyed almost all the road projects in the state, wondered 'if the rainfall are acidic'.

Okorocha stated this on Monday during the swearing ceremony of Mr. Mark Uchendu, as the new Secretary to the Government of Imo state, 9 permanent secretaries and others by the acting solicitor Ministry of Justice, Chinyere Ibeh who represented Attorney General of Imo State.

Speaking during the ceremony, Okorocha said; "let me tell you the remaining 7 months left for me I will do the same I did in 7 years in office".

"I am sorry for some of you who say that I have destroyed all the roads. It is because of the unprecedented rainfall. I wonder if the rains are acidic. I assure you that we will put them in order.

“I want to assure you that my people empowerment programme will kick off. It will start with the first names that will be submitted by the traditional rulers of our communities. My government is a government of the poor. I have come to save the lives of numerous poor Ndimo.

“We are going to begin to let our people know the projects we had done since the inception of this administration. What I am doing is to lay the foundation for any governor that will come into Imo state.

Enugu CJ hails Ugwuanyi on new Court Buildings

…As gov presents 25 generators for Judges’ residences

The Chief Judge of Enugu State, Hon. Justice Priscilla Ngozi Emehelu has commended Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for his unrelenting efforts and unreserved commitment towards the creation and sustenance of a conducive environment for the effective administration and dispensation of justice in the state.

Justice Emehelu, who spoke during the inauguration and formal handover of the twenty five 22KVA sound-proof generators procured by the Enugu State government for use at the residences of the Honourable Judges of the state, added that Gov. Ugwuanyi has achieved tremendous feats in the provision of suitable infrastructure and essential tools and equipment for the State Judiciary.

Represented by the Chief Registrar, Enugu State Judiciary, Mrs. Martha Aroh-Onuoha, the Chief Judge also applauded the governor for the massive construction of Magistrate Courts in the 17 Local Government Areas of the state as well as High Court complexes and a number of open Registries in the Judicial Divisions in the state.

Hon. Justice Emehelu disclosed that many projects are ongoing in the State Judiciary since the inception of Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration, maintaining that the third arm of government has not had it so good before.

“We have never experienced this since the coming into power of civilian government. Since 1999, Enugu State Judiciary had been side-tracked and we had no infrastructure and many other things.

“Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi has shown us a new phase and we are now breathing fresh air. We want to thank him and reassure him that the Judges of Enugu State would continue to do their very best to make Enugu State proud”, she assured.

Presenting the generators, Gov. Ugwuanyi, who was also represented by the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Miletus Eze, reiterated his administration’s commitment “to do whatever is necessary to ensure that the Judiciary in Enugu State is suitably equipped and empowered to deliver its mandate as an independent arm of government”.

According to him, “this is the only way to enhance the dignity, efficiency, productivity and safety of our courts and also increase the confidence of all court users”. #amokelouis

Mrsoundoro:
SOWORE COULD HAVE BEEN TURNED TO GOAT FOR DESECRATION OF OONI'S STATUS

Let me explain the scenario to you. Sowore had an appointment with Ooni, Somehow they were delayed for 3 hours has been speculated. When Ooni was entering the town hall finally to meet him he decided not to prostrate to Ooni all in a protest that he was delayed. He now finally nailed his contempt by finally saying it to Ooni in the face that he didn't prostrate. and I think that was what triggers the tear Gas, As for the person who sprayed it. I don't know if it Ooni Guards.

Honestly, if it was in then days the Ooni palace I knew.. They would have turned him to goat or hurt him forever. He is really lucky where are in the digital age.

Sowore really shot himself in the leg with this arrogance. As much as we think everybody should be accountable for their actions, there are some exceptional cases. In my opinion, I don’t think Ooni had kept him waiting because he wanted to keep him for just no reason. Do u understand Yoruba culture Ooni is not just a king, but the custodian of Yoruba culture and tradition. He is not like any of these Kings like Akinolu of Lagos, Agege King, or Oluwo of Iwo.

He’s not any of these kings that wakes and just come into the palace. if you think because he’s a Christian, he’s not getting divination daily from his Ifa priests? Think about this. All through the period Wuraola was married to him, did you see just a strand of her hair out? Why was she always covering her hair unlike other Queens married to other Yoruba kings. This should tell you there is more to this throne than what we know. Please note that everything must be in place before OONI step out of his abode.

In my own opinion, Sowore is better being an activist than a leader. no matter how we might gang up and uproot this useless leader who has wreck Nigeria to this point that we need to dislodge them , we would still need our kings and queen support. no one can win the heart of people by fighting or disrespecting their king at-least not in Yoruba land I know and even in some other country that I have been too.

I think education should come with common sense. Sowore lacks in this case for not putting any of these above into consideration before acting like that.

PoliticsRe: Sowore And The Ile Ife Palace: A Shift In The Offing. (akin Rimson) by jamjo:
Hoogee:
SOWORE and the ILE IFE PALACE: A shift in the offing.

Opinions, suggestions, comments and ideas are rife. They are flying left, right and centre in respect of what transpired at the palace of the highly respected Ooni of Ife during the visit of the popular face of the youth presidential aspirant of the AFRICAN ACTION CONGRESS(AAC).

AS controversial as the matter is... we certainly can't shy away from discussing it as it indeed represent a mileage in our national discourse as a cultural people.

While a section of the populace sees it as a taboo to complain of maltreatment or debasement once a KING is involved, A section of the Nigerian people held on to the belief that we MUST all be answerable for our CORNER SPACE if truely Nigeria must succeed irrespective of our position of authority.

In all fairness, the position of a king is not only an epitome of cultural heritage but one that deserves the necessary respect.

Some says the respect for the thrones in Africa is "total and absolute without question asked and no answer provided" ...and that's where SOWORE went wrong for daring to ask questions as to why nobody attended to him and his "take it back team" for an incredible four hours.

How dare you to protest your perceived ill treatment?....we don't ask questions here....we accept all conditions as ditched out by the royal palace!....then the tear gas went off as a punishment for TEAM SOWORE just almost immediately they completed the symbolic prostration of greeting the KING.

Well, this is 21st century and no one is an arbiter of common Sense all alone....this is why the "Yoruba would say OMODE gbon, AGBA gbon ohun ni a fi da Ile Ife! " ...This literally translate that: Ile Ife ONLY SUCCEEDED in its trying Time because the wisdom of both YOUNG & OLD was tapped into! ....so, after all ...the YOUTHS ain't dumb as the current set of Nigerian elders who held our destinies by the jungular would have us believe.

In my so journey through the realities of our dying nation,I have had the opportunity of being at the Ooni's palace in my days as an undergraduate at the Obafemi Awolowo University located in that sprawling ancient city.

Although, this was in the era of the then OBA SIJUADE...but I want to believe that the protocols couldn't have changed so much such that the litany of work force/members of staff of the palace had no single person to attend to a presidential aspirant who wasn't there without the initial palace approval of his visit.

We all have our worries, the same way a die hard fan of the palace would feel that no one ask questions in the palace...so also will a non palace fan would want to know if the Ooni would dare keep Bola Tinubu for four hours without explanation... remember that Tinubu isn't even contesting, would the king also keep a contesting Atiku,Saraki,Buhari for four hours without an explanation... not even one from a palace guard?

Not all Nigerian believe in the palace politics and that's the truth because they would argue that the slave trade succeeded mostly because some KINGS were trade partners with the slave masters. While the AFRICAN KINGS were selling their subjects...the Europeans where buying...what has changed?.... nothing! Because fast forward to political era ...while Abacha/Obj/Tinubu/Ibori was willing to deposit our destinies...SWISS BANK is ever ready to ACCEPT.

All said and done, our opinions will always be biased depending on which angle you want to look at it from. But looking at it from OMOYELE SOWORE's angle....he had said he's not coming to play the conventional politics that we are all used to and those of us following him knew this already that's why we bought into it. He said that he was coming to play DISRUPTIVE POLITICS....a politics that ask questions and rejected all unfavorable conditions at ALL TIMES. A politics that answer questions and give explanation to all AT ALL TIMES.

So,if he had not deviated from his style of disruptive politics then there would be no need to crucify the ONLY REALISTIC presidential aspirant on board 2019.

I understand those who feel he is arrogant for never being scared to call out anyone, but then that's what you chose to see in that package of disruptive politics.

If you ask me and the millions of youths whose destinies has been tampered with by those in authorities...we will tell you that the REAL ARROGANCE is not in SOWORE...we will tell you that it is in
*A DAVID MARK who had all the privileges as an army general ...he didn't change Nigeria,he had all the privileges as a Senate president ...he didn't change Nigeria ...now he wants to be president in 2019 after supervising the kidnapping of our dreams and glories of Nigerians.
*The real arrogance is in a BUHARI who was the governor of the then North east,he was busy then promoting clannishness, illiteracy, religion fanaticism while his mates were promoting merit and education...the result is the current north east infested with Boko Haram, mass illiteracy, terrorism and a global roll of honor as the most backward place on Earth...the same thing he's currently repeating and yet he wants to be president in 2019!
*The real arrogance is found in Saraki who's father gave a befitting education as a former Senate leader ...even though his family supervised the looting of a whole bank to death,he wasn't satisfied but still went on as a two time governor and a Senate president....now he wants to be president in 2019....did he change Kwara state? ...the list is endless irrespective of their party. All Nigerian past and present rulers are the NATIONAL PROBLEM of NIGERIA.
The former governors are no exceptions.

But I can understand that our self esteems has been so battered that we no longer believe in our ability to say NO!.... it's now a culture to defend our oppressors!

You will see a grown up man with an M.SC saying what has SOWORE achieve in life to qualify him into presidency? ...yet he's quick to defend a present president whose only achievement outside government feeding bottle is 150pcs of sterile cows in the name of farming.

Insanity isn't far from everyone I meet on the street daily in Nigeria except something drastic is done.

Challenging the status quo is not a tea party,if Sowore isn't doing it well...you can better advise than condemn ...these are two different things, such words as,'he has lost my vote or my support on this palace disrespect' ....he has lost my vote/support because he seems arrogant becomes a condemnation rather than advise if truely you want a shift from this present and past criminals who cannot even manage ordinary TRAFFIC in and out of Apapa sea port talkless of generating a single megawatt. ...And in all honesty, have u ever been respected before? By who? ...the goal post had shifted for 58yrs ... that's why cattles are more important than you in 2019.so where's the respect? ....I beg park well.

If we don't take the country forcefully from the real arrogant goons...they would rather hand over to a foreign coach once they are Belle ful....

Remember that's not a novelty...we do it in football, they will one day say it's the next option ...we will only find one clean English to polish it so that it won't look recolonization.

Julius Malema of the EFF in South Africa didn't hide his character and mission and only those who want expropriation of land without compensation are on board because they believe that since the land was forcefully taken from the black south Africans by the invading whites...it should also be returned now WITHOUT compensating the white guys for loosing it.
Take it or leave it....this is the apt scenario between the Nigerian ruling class and her long suffering citizens. SOWORE is our own Julius Malema.

#God bless Nigeria
#I am Akin Rimson
#I am the talking pen.
Thank you thank you as if you went into my innermost mind and extract my thought, you hit the nail on the head. I will also say the worst slavery that human will go through is mental slavery until our people recognize that, we as people are not going anywhere.

OK, kindly show the prototype house that you deemed OK. While at it also show pic of your current abode. Thank you
It is not about the prototype or the architectural designs, It's all about the finishing, the infrastructures. This is the 21st century for God sake why Nigeria as a country continue doing things backwards instead of going with time and people like you celebrate it. Believe me, just travel out of Nigeria, just the African continent you will realize other African countries are getting it right and even some have surpassed Nigeria in terms of infrastructural developments. Just compare the two pictures, The mass housing for low income.

You are entitle to your opinion dude, to me NIGERIA is moving forward under PMB
I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but not when the indexes of which they use to determines who is moving forward are all in the negative. The trajectories of unemployment is up and when we are now the world capital of poverty, all are hanging up there. Our external debt now is not what to write home about or killings or Boko Haram or one sided corruption fight or the economy or educational and health sectors. Please you tell me after three years please I understands that three years is not enough to write the wrongs of Nigeria but three years is enough time to start seeing improvements don't you agree, instead of improvements Nigeria is worst than what PMB met the day he took Office. Is this the sign of a country moving forward?

If PDP did not build any in 16 years but instead looted n shared money for such project and senseless lot including you from the yeast want them back in power, I will rather Buhari continue with building the mediocre ones. One thing I can bet is none of your family member live in a house of that quality and standard as at this hour.
As I said and I will said it again and again whatever that is worth doing is worth doing well. No amount of excuses will change the fact that mediocrity is not worthy of celebration, and as where I live I don't think you can be able to afford a flight ticket to Chicago to see where I live.
