Jobs/VacanciesRe: 9 Things You Should Avoid During Job Interviews. by Jarus(m): 1:32pm On Apr 14, 2015
7. Avoid Arguments: In as much as you can disagree with some opinions of the interviewers and express your own independent opinion, it is not advisable to engage in any form of argument for whatever reason. Arguments build up tension and put the two parties under pressure. Each person's ego is at stake. And there may not be any change of opinion from either party irrespective of who wins the argument
This is very important. It was the reason one of my classmates (that we both had same qualifications and jointly topped test) was not given the job in an interview we both had as fresh graduates in a company in 2006.

Just like the Saraki machinery in Kwara that has very little to do with good governance but regular handouts to strategic community leaders etc.

How do you interprete PDP's strong showing in Lagos these elections huh
Agbaje's likeability. Simple.
PoliticsRe: 5 Reasons Why Ambode Won Lagos by Jarus(m): 5:46pm On Apr 13, 2015
For me, however, the single most formidable factor was Tinubu's structure that permeates the entire Lagos.

He has a well-oiled machinery of loyalists in every community, almost every street, that are ready to mobilize for him.

In Langbasa here, God help you if you talk ill of Tinubu in the presence of Daddy Fasila andAlhaja Golden.

Ditto for all these state and LG civil servants - the ministries, these LASTMA, LIRS, LASEPA, LAMATA, LAWMA, LA-this, LA-that. These guys are mobilisers.

This sentiment far above any other played the most important consideration among middle/Upper and educated Lagosians.

The thought of a derailment from the working framework was just what many could not contemplate or dream of........I'm sure that even Agbaje will agree that it will be an uphill task to change people perception about such policy framework.

At the end of the day, Ambode's victory is a triumph of common sense over base and illogical sentiments....
The only reason some of my Igbo colleagues settled for Ambode was continuity of Fashola's work.

We always hear after elections.

The truth is, none of these so-called men categorically said BUHARI WILL WIN. The ones that were categorical said JONATHAN WILL WIN.

Others hedged their bet with vague statements like this and interprete in favour of actual outcome after elections.

Even Nairaland political analysts were more categorical as I saw statements like "There is no way Buhari will not win" on Nairaland before elections
PoliticsRe: Man Treks From Lagos To Abuja To Fulfil The Vow He Made If Buhari Wins (photos) by Jarus(m): 6:47pm On Apr 12, 2015
Suicide mission.

Thank God I read situation well before making vows.

Twice I have vowed to delete my NL account if an event happened, twice it didn't.

In 2011, I vowed to delete my NL acct and resign as Mod if Jonathan got 30% in Kano like someone argued, I was right.

In 2015, someone argued with me that Jonathan will win Jigawa because of Sule Lamido, I vowed to delete my NL account if GEJ got 30% in Jigawa. Again, I won.

The Saturday wey go sweet, na from Friday e dey show.

We told them Tinubu has a loyal following, some men and women, in every community of Lagos that can hardly be supplanted, they are talking about some non-indigenes being plenty.

Lagos state and LG civil servants (and all these LASTMA, LAWMA, LASEPA, LASAA, LIRS) and their families are enough to win elections for Tinubu. It's a no-brainer.

Like I said, no analysis. Agbaje is not winning. It's simple observation. No need for any extensive analysis.

CareerRe: Top 10 Best Paying Organization In Nigeria. by Jarus(m): 3:32pm On Apr 11, 2015
Average salary for all shell (permanent) staff cannot be less than 1m, when you have senior managers collecting up to 3m-5m. Entry level in Shell is not less than 600k.

The list is a joke. No bank will enter Top 20 for entry level. The entry level for my company is about 400k and it is not one of the Top 10 paying companies in the oil and gas industry alone!

you are at the storming stage in your marriage. endure it, persevere it and you would soon get past this phase. at least, she's decent enough to apologise whenever she says things that are bang out of order.

there's light at the end of the tunnel.

PoliticsRe: States That Would Be Hot During This Governorship Elections - By Lalasticlala by Jarus(m): 8:53pm On Apr 08, 2015
lalasticlala:
They are otherwise known as volatile states.

From the political happenings, it's obvious that the following states could be termed volatile:

1) Rivers State: Amaechi complained of army harassment, malpractices, during the last presidential election. APC even called for the cancellation of the results from Rivers.
Of course, incidences of killings, violence were also recorded in various parts of the state.

So this time around, Amaechi would want to do everything within his powers, ( remember he now had 'oga at the top') to ensure that APC Candidate wins the gubernatorial election in rivers.

On the other hand, Wike who has the backings of the presidency would also do all he can to ensure he wins.

So it's a fight to finish...

2)Lagos State: APC, the ruling party would do all it could to ensure it retains power, especially now that APC is about to control the federal government. APC can't afford to lose Lagos state.

On the other hand, PDP, haven lost the federal government, would do all it can to ensure it wins Lagos state.

The Oba of Lagos alleged threat may also play a role in making Lagos a hot zone during the coming governorship elections.

3 Imo State: It's obvious that PDP would likely win in most of the south eastern states. But Okorocha would want to do all he can to ensure that APC wins. Okorocha cannot afford to lose IMO now that APC would call the shots at the federal government level. But PDP would equally fight to ensure Okorocha loses power.
Recall, during the last presidential elections, Okorocha alleged of army harassment of APC members.

What do you think about the above states I enlisted as volatile states?
Are there other states you consider to be volatile that should be mentioned?
You should bring them on board.
.
Agreed. Kaduna will be hot too, but on a lower intensity.
RomanceRe: Jeeez! See What Her Fiancee Is Suggesting For Her.....mature Content! by Jarus(m): 7:49pm On Apr 08, 2015
ItsAnderson:

A close female friend of mine confided in me that her fiance wants to pay for her bride price and do other traditional rights. But he wants her to first have babies now because of her age. She is in her late 30s but she says she does not want to have her babes out of wedlock, Dat none of her sisters did dat and its against her doctrine but the man insists he doesn't have money for wedding now so they should first start making kids before marriage so it doesn't get difficult when she gets older.

She is confused as to what to do?
Please any suggestions?
Must they do big wedding? They can do "parlour wedding", with less than 100k. Just get the two families together and a couple of friends.

Not wedding per se, just introduction that will have the wedding rites.

Buhari should pls accept Tinubu's nomination of Mofe Boyo as Petroleum Minister, if that's the only one he will accept.

I have worked for Boyo in the past and this man can sanitise our petroleum sector. He's a no-nonsense executive that is highly efficient. If this man supervises NNPC and other oil industry agencies for just 6 months, you will see transformation to a highly effective system.

Please give us Mofe Boyo as Petroleum Minister.
