I take coffee at work purposely to enjoy one of the benefits outlined up there, but the problem is I add too much milk, and sometimes sugar(when there is no honey) that I doubt whether the health benefit I seek to gain has not been eroded. |
That will buy me 35 bags of cement ![]() |
I agree with the list. |
Not being a fashionista, I can't. |
solbil: ghana vs naija is not the biggest rivalry on the continent. Its cameroon vr naija. Get it straight!Actually, to Ghanaians, it is Nigeria/Ghana. But Nigeria hardly reckons with that, they see Cameroun as their biggest rivals. Cameroun, having beaten us 3 times in final, are our biggest rival. Nigeria-Cameroun is the biggest rivalry in African football, followed by Nigeria-Ghana. Nigeria-South Africa also used to be big game, especially since they ruled Africa when Nigeria was absent in 1996 and 1998 AFCONs, and felt theyhad arrived. But we hjave since put them in their place, beating them 2-0(Tijani Babangida) in 2000 AFCON and 4-2 or so in 2004 AFCON, plus beating them home and away in one qualifiers couple of years back. SA and Nigeria is no longer a big game. Senegal also used to be our serious rival, eliminating us in 2002 AFCON semis. But we have also gone past them and hardly in same class again. Nigeria-Ghana and Nigeria-Cameroun are the real, enduring, historical rivals. |
solbil: sentiments apart. I think nigeria will take the day especially if mikel becomes more prominent on the pitch. The guy has the ability to control the game and that ability, if brought to the fore, can make the ball move smoothly to precisely locate other players therefore making the game simple for the super eagles and difficult for the opponent.Yaya Toure, a better midfielder than Mikel, is coming to NC o. Tiote and others. |

Being the most visited Nigerian website is enough achievement. Efforts should be to maintain that position. I don't see it overtaking any of those big 4. Linkedln, currently below NL, is a website Seun should watch out for and fend off ovetaking him. Maybe NL can outwit , that seems achievable, but those Top 6, it's a tall order. |
We mods can't move thread to frontpage. But Seun and Mukina, who have the power, are aware of this thread and the election thread as well. They will do the moving if they consider it hp-worthy. |
These Ghanaians are too obsessed about Nigeria. Is Nigeria the only country. The last time we met in London, we played goalless. Bring them sef. I want them to be in our group in SA 2013. |
dayo23: Chai! Chai!chai!.....PROF GABRIEL OYINBO the World best MAthematician...Argument over! A.B.U ZARIA On point.Gabriel Oyibo is another intellectual fraud like Emegwali. I should be proud of him, attending same secondary school, but hey. |
October. Isn't it too early? Well, Seun and Mukina will decide to home-page you when they come here |
Sweetnecta: @Bindex, etc and Pastor AIO: Allah has allowed primarily the disbelievers [and even the hypocrites] to the whims of the devils; satan and his legions. The effect could be as obvious as disbelieving in God [His Existence, making Him a tribal God or multiple head God, or even having representatives, like idols, etc] and as confusing as in being possessed by jinn.Sweetnecta, pls explain your last paragraph to me? Specifically, do you believe in Jinn possession I.e jinn entering human body? |
jamace: Congrats Jarus.Nope. Set it aside for few months now. Close to 5m spent already. Plan to throw another 2-3m into it by November/December by God's grace and bring it to habitable stage. Then complete the finishing touches by next year by God's grace. |
fados4sure: Thanks i really appreciate as i am planing to board a flight by December. Please there is still one other thing i like to know. For example am travelling from Lagos to London. When we land in London, what will i do next? Moved to the building/move to my destination? Your humble opinion sir.I believe you're being sarcastic ![]() |
dayokanu: JUSTICE FATIMAH ABDULSALAM ABUBAKAR.Most schooled, yes. She maintained a low profile, continued with her professional calling, not so active as First Lady. I wont count her. |

I started out with teh intention of doing a small 3-bedroom as countryhome in my hometown, but the architect(who doubles as project supervisor) expanded the project beyond my initial plan dna budget - 3 bedroom, and 2 semi-detached 2-room BQ. Took longer than I planned and budget tripled. Still never finish it but after quarelling with my architect for expanding it beyond plan, I am happy he did. I discussed it here. https://www.nairaland.com/784501/building-house-kwara-state-journal#9367444 Other lesson point: 1, Just start, with as little money as you have 2, It is hardly possible that some people wont swindle you, you can only minimise it |
Most of dose guys that act for Mainframe productions are Uites and even the Professor that writes most of the Mainframe movies is a Uite.
Peter Fatomilola and Kola Oyewo, two of the main guys in Mainframe, are Ife lecturers. Kola has a PhD, I dey see Peter drink palmwine for the back of dramatic arts department. |
sagbar: OAU is da boomb! Ondo guber candidates speaks for ife;mimiko,Akeredolu and oke all graduated from ifeThat's interesting. |
Funniest thing is that most of d legendary playwrights and actors in Nigeria are U.I Products.
I think UI is the king of Arts. |
afam4eva: You're right. When you talk about activist and defenders of democracy, it is Ife. The average graduate of Ife is a maverick. And I also think Ife products have teh most sense of solidarity. They have this way of identifying with one another and with their school anywhere. On a lighter note, we rule Nairaland: Seun, Dayokanu, TKB417, CyberG, Jarus, Spikedcylinder, Eastbay, pcicero etc. ![]() |
abdulkayus: Where una go com put my uni, Bayero University kano. We do hav great alumni bt nt as much as UNN, UI, UNILAG and ABU. Atleast i can remember dat d present governor of Niger state; Dr Muazu Babangida is an alumni of my school BUK.Your school try too. At least some of my highly valued intellectual friends/elders finished from your school Farooq Kperogi; Yushau Shuaib (NEMA spokesman); Abdullah Usman (Jega's SA)etc |
Ife also used to have the biggest array of quality teachers. Wole Soyinka won his Nobel prize as an Ife lecturer. Professors Oluponna and Biodun Jeyifo (both the only tenured Nigerian profs in Harvard) were former Ife lecturers before teh brain drain of the 80's to 90's. |
OYINBOGOJU: Great IfeIfe has the most intimidating in Human rights crusade/social activism. Anybody wanna challenge that? |
afam4eva: Pls name some Alumni of ABU??No school comes near ABU in Politics. 12 (one-third) of the present state governors attended ABU, not less than 10 of the ministers did. |
I am a proud product of Ife, but I concede this is between ABU and UNN. The reason why this is so is because while almost everybody that mattered in the North went to ABU, almost everybody that matters in the east also went to UNN, but the West has UI, Ife and Unilag, three universities to share its own. Between 60's to 80's, everyone from the East and North dreamt of UNN and ABU respectively, while Ife, Lag and UI shared that of the West. This is not absolute, as I am aware that there are many Yorubas that schooled in ABU in particular and UNN too, and vice versa for other regions, but it explains teh situation to a very large extent. |
Reminds me of Reuben Abati's satire on her 2 years ago, when she released that her lewd song http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/articles/reuben-abati/the-making-of-st-janet-of-sinners-chapel.html |
eastman11: Let the Sultan use the Ed-el-Kabir festival to strongly condemn religious violence and Boko activities and start a campaign for religious tolerance. His inability to use his position as head of muslems to speak out against killings by Boko makes him an accomplice.Maybe you expect him to carry megaphone and come to the front of your house before you know he has been condemning BH and religious intolerance in general. If you don't listen to the news, then that is your problem. Google is your friend still. Google 'Sultan condemns boko Haram/religious violence' and see what comes out. Some people sef. Or you expect him to carry gun and go battle BH himself before you know he condemns it. |
Built2last: Happy birthday Ibu...you are an evidence that anything is marketable in Naija...including stupidity. ![]() |
