Yeah, Uchebo lost his father the Thursday before that match. Meanwhile, dem no dey use Keeper for Norwegian league? Because these scorelines are scary o! |
@Nitrogen, MBA without experience will not fetch you low, not to talk of middle level management position, no matter how hot you are, except of course, you are CEO's son. At best 2nd level in the organization. But with as little as 3 years experience pre-MBA plus an MBA from a top-rate school, you may be considered for low level mgt position, subject to posting very convicing showing at interview. But even at that, rule out this in MNCs and some other highly structured organizations. |

RIP Baba Zainab. |
I did this thread in 2008. Not sure I would have done it in 2011. |
debosky:I've read so much about this 2cantago, but didn't meet him. Where on earth are these guys now? |

gokuu:I have taken it up with the banning authorities since teh first time you called my attention. Your ID will be reinstated once they are satisfied with you or the time elapses, if time-based. |
^^^ I've found myself arguing with some nairalanders on that topic before. Can at least recall Davidylan. |
texazzpete:Oh, that was not nice! ![]() Thread moved to right section. |
edoyad:I brought that to attention because from my interactions with many nairalanders, ABU is highly underrated. I remember when we were discussing Sanusi issue in 2009 when Davidylan dismissed ABU certificate as not worth more than the paper it's printed on. |
How about the students he has miseducated for 12 years? ![]() |
I've read about the couple and their exploits a couple of months. And just thinking aloud, ABU must be a very great school. 9-10 successful person from the North passed through that school. I've seen too many brilliant minds from this school, not to come to terms with the fact that this school is easily in the class of, if not greater than some of the, OAUs, UIs, UNNs and Unilags of the South. |
Yeah, domestic water transport is becoming popular in Lagos. My madam used it from Ajah-Ikorodu the other day(commercial), making Ajah-Ikorodu journey in 10 minutes, when it's 3 hours by road. My brother(CEO of a firm) also uses it within Lagos(commercial). But since I read in papers that a former LG Chairman drowned in boat accident in Epe few weeks ago, I've not been too enthusiastic in joining the commercial boat riders ![]() |
Abdulfattah Ahmed (Kwara)I agree with the 'Potential' categorization of this man, my state governor. Much as I'm not a fan of god-sons, something keeps telling me this man will perform. I don't know much about him and he wasn't my preference(AC's Dele Belgore was my preferred candidate) majorly because, upstaging father by son, to me is still not the liberation Kwara needs. But sometimes, like the Tinubu-Fashola case, godsons may not be bad, especially if the godfather gives him/her free hand. In the early years of Fashola, Tinubu gave him free hand allowing him to do the administrative part while he did the politics part, fighting PDP and other dirty jobs. If Bukola can allow this man to work and keep him free from political distractions, I'm somehow positive of something good coming from him. I read he was behind the economic strategy of Bukola Saraki's administration. He also comes across as a young, cool guy that should be loaded with modern ideas. His private sector background - from a reputed brand as GTB, especially - is also giving me hope, forget the fact that Rogue Isa Yuguda was also a former bank CEO. I wish this man the best in his 'potential'. |
They won alright, but this team is far from being fantastic IMO. I don't see this team going far in WYC. No oustanding player. Stanley Okoro has greatly dipped in form. Same to Abdul Ajagun and Rahmon Azeez, compared to their performance in Under-17 2 years ago. |
Eeyah. Pathetic. May God give the families the fortitude to bear this loss. Reminds me of my NYSC years in Sokoto 07/08, when I interfered in the state politics by writing a newspaper article against the state government, shaking the state government and PDP to its root. Needless to say the man that punished me for that(with 3 months extension) is that Yakubu Jok up there that, now as a Deputy Director, led the evacuation of the Bauchi corpses. Wish I still have his phone no as I used to months after finishing his service, and call him to remind him that I was the corper he punished, as Sokoto state NYSC coordinator then, for criticizing the PDP state govt. |
Keeping him on his toes is surely part of my quota. This morning, SK, editor of Thisday, was telling me that his resolve now is to keep GEJ on his toes so that he can perform, and that informed his analysis, titled JONATHAN MUST SPEND ONE TERM, in his column today. In that article, he advised Jonathan to spend one term and that havung in mind he wants to spend 2 terms will make him perform less in his first term. Go read his full column on Thisday website. I still expect many articles on such advice from him in his future writings for his Sunday column. That, to him, is his way of jolting GEJ to action. If I analyze his moves and criticize them, then I'm also helping him/contributing my quota. And of course, I'll continue to perform what is expected of me as a citizen(pay tax, call others to support him, analyse and criticize govt policies etc) because I want the progress of Nigeria, even if my choice of driver(president) is not at the helm. |
^ Ok. It will be interesting witnessing Igbo+Fulani wedding. Meanwhile, this 'egbon' thing dey make me feel like I don old like methuselah o. Abeg. Lol |
2007 set. Operated as Ife-Eco-06 before I requested the Admin to change my username for me officially, to Jarus in December 2008. I remember when the Religion section used to be very hot, with Olabowale and Davidylan always engaging each other. I remember the days of Deepzone. She ran riot in every section of NL. I remember MCUsman, then sole defender of the north in Politics section - 2008. |
I fully supported Buhari, churned out many articles to campaign for him, sponsored leaflets to campaign for him, collaborated with others on NL here to sponsor Radio jingles for him etc. But am I happy with the post-election violence? No, extremely sad. Have I condemned it? Yes, on NL here and in many other media. And currently writing a newspaper article to condemn it and discuss other things as they relate to Buhari and other post-election issues. Have I congratulated GEJ? Yes. And ready to contribute my little quota to make him succeed, because my support for Buhari was purely out of my belief that he would do better than GEJ in returning this country back to the path of glory. But since, by a combination of fair and foul means, has been elected, I fully support him and wish him the best. Mine is never a politics of do or die. |
I'm around. Do you want to arrest me? |
Ahmed Musa hit brace today against Feyenoord. This guy is good o. I pray Ajax signs him. |
Result of purpose and determination. Cameroun has equalized. |
Cameroun are the better and more purposeful side, but Nigeria is leading 2-1. 5 minutes to go. |
I agree partially with that. Don't think your people will burn religious houses or kill corpers, but historically, billion worth facilities will be lost(which, no matter the value, is not worth life anyway) but there will still be deaths and I'll not rule out your people attacking Sabos in Warri, PH etc. Let us also not forget that we Yorubas also fiercely rioted over the injustice done to our man, Abiola, in 1993. Houses were burnt, things destroyed, few people lost their lives. My main problem with Northerners' response is killing of innocent souls(corpers) and attacking religious places. Otherwise, expressing their displeasure to their PDP rigging elite is not out totally out of place, given the way these leaders manipulate these people. |
In the run-up to the election, an embittered Niger Deltan colleague told me that he will personally carry explosives and blow up our street if GEJ did not win. He may not have done that, but his brothers in the creeks would surely have blown up many facilities in the Niger Delta. I don't think much life will be lost in the likely ND mayhem but surely more facilities. Caveat: This in no way endorses or justifies the senseless kinnlings in the North. |
5000 plus in 4 years. That's average IMO. |
Very interesting conversation between a Fulani guy and a Igbo lady, completely devoid of ethnic lashing xtic of NL. To the mods, Odunnu and OAMJ, I hail una too. Subcribed. |
Congrats Yakowa, if it's true. Another victory gifted to PDP due to CPC's lack of organization. |
Pure gobbledygook. If anybody wants to Islamize the SW, is it Tinubu, who was accomodating enough to have a Christian wife? Pure coincidence. Dayokanu provided an answer in 2008: In most Yoruba families you have Xtians and Moslems and they have mixed well over the ages. Of all Yoruba states presently we have 5 govs who are Xtians and 1 moslem. in 1999, 3 moslems 3 xtianshttps://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-182659.0.html#msg2936833 |
