We have 41, 180 as balance in BB Integrity vanguard as I speak. What use should we put it into for these two days we have left?

Options:

1, Extend the Wazobia FM slots (2 slots)
2, Extend Osun radio slots (3 slots)
3, Extend Splash FM slots( 2 slots)
4, Use it on other elightenment and last minute campaigns.

Suggestions needed asap.

Politics › Governors Heading For Defeat by Jarus(op): 2:37pm On Apr 12, 2011
If the last NASS elections are anything to go by, the the following governors can start packing their loads from government house.

GONERS
1, SHEMA - KATSINA: It will take miracle for this man to survive CPC onslaught in Katsina. Having cleared all Senate seats and 12 out of 14 HOR seats, CPC looks ready to take over this state.

2, YAKOWA - KADUNA: With CPC and PDP on 1-1, 7-3 in this state, and the postponed Kaduna North another CPC stronghold, all looks set that Kaduna governor may also not not surive CPC onslaught on April 26.

HIGHLY SHAKING
3, ALAO-AKALA - OYO: Shaky. That's what will describe his own, given the fact that although ACN defeated his party 2-1 in Senatorial, his PDP led ACN and Ladoja's AP 5-4-4 in HOR. HOR result can give some ray of hope to him, but his chance may not be as dim as the 2 above

NB: Let's pray there is no violence in Oyo, as this man is not one that succumbs so easily. But the comforting thing, as the editor of a popular newspaper mentioned to me, is that his Chief Thug, Eleweomo, is dead, and his antagonists' Chief thug, Tokyo, has also 'retired'. So coordinated violence will be very minimal.

4, SHINKAFI - ZAMFARA : He was Yerima's deputy for many years. He rode to power on Yerima's ANPP's back. They fell out, he decamped to PDP. Now appears to be payback time. Yerima(ANPP) floored him(PDP) 2-1, 5-1 in NASS. If that is anything to go by, Shinkafi may be thought a lesson in how not to fight your 'benefactor' on April 26, as ANPP looks set to claim teh safe

SHAKING, BUT CHANCE STILL BRIGHT
5, BABANGIDA ALIYU - NIGERIf NASS election is anything to go by, CPC may take over Niger. But it appears there is hand of IBB in that CPC's victory, and that same hand is influential enough to swing the retrn the guber pendulum to his PDP boy. Not to forget the fact that Aliyu himself is a political warhouse. So I doubt CPC will be able to overtake Aliyu, despite performing better in NASS.

6SAFE, BUT NEVER SAY NEVER

6, NASARAWA: With CPC-PDP playing 1-1, 3-1 in NASS, no one can tell where the guber pendulum will swing. Either CPC or PDP can take it.
7, YUGUDA - BAUCHI: He is safe by NASS result, contrary to pre-election punditry, but it may be too early to celebrate, as the widepsread dislike for him for betraying them, may translate into protest votes. But I doubt that.

FRESH GOVERNORS IN WAITING: The outgoing will not be able to instal candidate
1, AMOSUN - OGUN: If I were this man(ACN Ogun candidate), I would have started celebrating. It will take miracle of Christ's power, for any other party to defeat ACN in Ogun guber on April 26.

2, KWANKWASO - KANO: Kano is a forgone conclusion for this PDP man.

3, GONI-BORNO: Cannot be said with oracular certainty, but if NASS results are anything to go by, PDP's Goni's looks very set to uproot whatever remains of ANPP's Modu Sheriff and his protege. He himself lost his Senatorial shot last week to PDP's whirlwind.
Politics › Re: Dapolam Accepts Defeat, speaks to Nairalanders by Jarus(m): 1:25pm On Apr 12, 2011
I must commend Dapo's courage to come here, less than 48 hours after losing a Federal election. Remembering this place at this peak period of politik, is no mean action. I almost wrote here yesterday that before Dapo can remember he was engaging some people on the internet, it may take at least 2 weeks, especialy since he lost.

I have contested and lost a far 'smaller' election(Departmental, varsity) before and I know how it tastes to lose an election. How much more an election that would have brought one into national limelight, especially when one factors in the fact that it was a 'near-miss' given the performance of ACN in the state generally.

Lagosboy:
ACN is not in control of Oyo state as of yet. Oyo is a 3 horse race at the moment. PDP has more house of rep seats at the moment with 5 seats, ACN 4 and Accord 4. ACN has 2 senate seats and PDP 1 seat.
That's correct.
Politics › Re: Dapolam Accepts Defeat, speaks to Nairalanders by Jarus(m): 4:58pm On Apr 11, 2011
But the good thing for him is that his party, ACN, is now in control of the state.
If he doesn't get appointive post in the new dispensation(2011-2015), he can easily position himself for 2015 when his party is expected to have gained stronger ground in the state.

There is nothing wrong in using a platform like NL to articulate your views and project your image and ideas.
Of course, that doesn't mean 99% of the work is not in his Ibadan constituency.
Politics › Re: Dapolam Accepts Defeat, speaks to Nairalanders by Jarus(m): 2:21pm On Apr 11, 2011
This is the end of this discussion that started 3 years ago.

Dapolam eventually contested under ACN and lost to Accord Party. Interestingly, ACN won many seats in Oyo, but lost Dapo's constituency to Ladoja's party.

If a less-liked Atiku could thrash GEJ in Kano, how much more Buhari.

Where are the most northern states that ANPP came second? Can you list 3?

Just wait and see how Buhari will thrash PDP in Sokoto, Kebbi, Kano, Bauchi and even Niger(where PDP won NASS).

CPC still has the 3rd largest no of members in NASS, despite the outing; closing on ACN in Rep(32-30), and 6 Senate seats

muami:
If primary elections have any correlation with general elections, then PDP would have won all the South West States and Katsina because GEJ won those states during the primaries.Pls lets try and improve the quality of our arguments because I am unable to undertand what primary elections has got in common with general elections especially in the presidential elections where non of the candidates particpated in each other's primaries. ?
You still don't get it. If Kano PDP like GEJ, he would have won primary there. That is the simple message.  The same will happen in all PDP states he lost primaries. SW PDP like GEJ and he won the primary there.

Or wanna bet that Buhari will win Kano?

Politics › Re: Was Buhari Deliberately Given A Bloody Nose In Sokoto by Jarus(m): 10:30am On Apr 11, 2011
Despite the power of incumbency which favours PDP, CPC without a single elected senator has won 6 senatorial seats (all 3 in his home state, 1 in FCT, 1 in Kaduna, 1 in Nasarawa) and several house of reps seat including my constituency in Lokoja and PDP VP's consituency.
CPC trounced PDP in Babangida Aliyu's Niger too.
Politics › Re: Cpc Lost Nass, But Presidential May Be Closer by Jarus(m): 10:21am On Apr 11, 2011
PDP won Kano NASS and will surely win Guber there too(due to Kwankwaso factor) but whoever thinks Jonathan will defeat Buhari in Kano must be dreaming.

The same Jonathan that did not win PDP primary in Kano. The slogan in PDP Kano is 'Kano Sai Kwankwaso, Naijeriya Sai Buhari'.

So Buhari's votes in Kano will be PDP+CPC.
The poor performance of cpc has shown that buhari is a bad product and the only thing left for him is to bow to a more stronger opposition for a meaningful alliance.but however, buhari is just being too egocentric having lost all the time he has been contesting and he still insist on emerging as the consensus candidate.Any alliance between cpc and Acn should have Acn producing the presidential candidate.
How is Buhari a bad product? He formed a party less than one year ago and won 6 Senate seats and 30 House of Rep seats, and has 2 governorship(Kaduna and Katsina) a sure banker for him. How many politicians can pull that in Nigeria?

Also it is noteworthy that even among those of supporting BB on NL, we hold divergent views on many other political issues. For example, when issues come to discussion of Tinubu/ACN, my opinions converge more with Gbawe(a Ribadu supporter) than my fellow BBers(Kobojunkie and Lagosboy)
Politics › Re: But For Buhari/tinubu, Nigeria Would Have Become One-party State by Jarus(op): 11:44pm On Apr 10, 2011
@efisher, I will surely congratulate GEJ and wish him well, and work for his success, if he wins this election. This I have said in a thread asking what if GEJ wins some weeks ago. But I don't want him to win because I believe Buhari is a better candidate. And I have no regrets about that.

That said, I'm not a CPC member. If anything, I have sympathy for ACN more than even CPC because they are the party that have the highest no of performing elected officers.

On NASS outcome for CPC, as I type, the party has won 5 Senate seats(3 Katsina, 1 Kaduna, 1 Niger) with postponed Kaduna North going to be a walk-over and making a strong showing in Nasarawa too. Overall, that's not a bad showing for the party, even though I agree they focused more on Presidential and too less on others.

In Kano, PDP has won Senate seats, due majorly to the goodwill of Kwankwaso who will also win guber, and minorly due to Buhari's non-endorsement(raising hands up of) Abacha, which I'm personally ok with, but whoever thinks GEJ will repeat this feat next Saturday should be in for a shock. It is not for nothing that even in Kano PDP circles, it's Kano Sai Kwankwaso, Naigeriya Sai Buhari'. So Buhari will still sweep Kano. By the way, a GEJ that didn't win Kano PDP primary already knows he cannot win main election in Kano.

All these said, I'm supporting Buhari, not CPC. If Buhari contests under Accord Party, I'll give him my vote.

Politics › But For Buhari/tinubu, Nigeria Would Have Become One-party State by Jarus(op): 7:25pm On Apr 10, 2011
Call them any name, there is no denying the fact that these are the men that have prevented Nigeria from degenerating into a one-party state. Tinubu could have joined PDP and will still maintain godfather status, even now at national level. If Tinubu defects to PDP, he stands to lose nothing. He will stil be commanding things. He has the money, ruggedity, connection and tricks to be a successful politician by PDP standard.

On the other hand, if not for Buhari, PDP would have overtaken everywhere in the North. ANPP's little grasp of some areas in the North is still due to Buhari's footprints there. Now CPC is making waves due to Buhari factor again. Buhari could, like fellow Generals Obasanjo, IBB, Gusau etc, have also joined PDP and run things the dirty way. He may not be able to clinch PDP presidential ticket due to his natural averseness to the PDP ways, but he would have still been a godfather in PDP, holding the key to locking and unlocking NW. Yet he refused to join PDP.

Give it to this men, they are heroes of democratic Nigeria.
Politics › Re: All Hail Tinubu . The New Undiputed Heavyweight Champion Of The Sw. by Jarus(m): 6:24pm On Apr 10, 2011
I salute Tinubu, I salute ACN. Beyond having the money and dirt to fight PDP, Tinubu's choice of candidates is another factor working for him. When you have the likes of Fashola, Aregbesola, Oshiomole, Fayemi as your candidates, it becomes easy to sell your party.

Reports I'm listening on TVC now have it that a Returning Officer has been arrested in Edo for attempting to change election results from 1,000 something to 10,000 something, for PDP.
Politics › Re: Pdp Is Dying While Cpc Is Growing In The North-east by Jarus(m): 4:50pm On Apr 10, 2011
Papabrowne, if you think even PDP people in the North will vote for Jonathan, then you definitely have not heard of 'Kano Sai Kwankwaso(PDP), Naijeriya Sai Buhari(CPC)' in PDP rallies. PDP members will vote Buhari in Presidential, so those 30-40% will drastically reduce.

So you endorse tribal politics? I'm not a politician, but if I'll go into politics, I'll never play the regional card. Vote for me because I'm capable not because I'm a northerner or southerner, Hausa or Yoruba.

Meanwhile, you're very right that Offa people go where SW, and not North, goes, right from First Republic. I have written extensively on this. Google my articles: 'Offa: A recipe for sustainable development' and 'Offa: History beckons'
