But why is it that anytime Jonathan talks, somebody will come later and interprete it? Why is it that he is always 'misunderstood/misinterpreted'? Why? The same thing happened during the MEND comments and in some other past comments. He even mistakenly said he was running for governorship instead of presidency in his Ibadan speech until they whispered to him that he was running for presidency, not governorship. Why these simple errors from Mr President? Honestly, as Tunde Fagbenle put it, for how long would we continue to pardon Jonathan for these errors? I'm seriously worried. |

Thanks for the complements. Given the tendency of some mischievous Nairalanders to scoop one's personal info/affairs on FB and splash it here, I'm always cautious to add just any friend on FB, especially anybody I suspect is from NL. But just send me the request and put a message that it's you. |
azharuddin:Taken up too. It will be fixed soon. |
tbaba1234:Sorry for the delayed response. I have asked the Admin to fix it. It will soon be visible. |
Sagamite:You know, most times, you are unserious, although I ahve never doubted your depth. You can be very playful and sometimes quarrelsome ![]() |
Sagamite:Fact!!! Best post I have read from you, Saga. |
^^^ I don't think that was the real reason they didnt want Sanusi there. They were all together as top shots in the banking sector(even if they were his seniors) and they knew Sanusi knew the 'idans' or 'odus' or miracles they perform in their reporting. Sanusi used to talk against it then, but they accused him of demarketing. Their problem with him, as it appears to me from what I gathered, is that they knew this man is tough and knows their dirty deals, and if given regulatory power(CBN boss), they are in trouble. Hence the attempt to stop him from getting the job. |
netotse:and tomorrow will make it three years that this big head also passed out from that programme. Oga Oyb, how far nao? I learnt you played host to the 'big boys' on you way home last Wednesday? Hope dem no injure you sha? ![]() |
temmytanny:Why did they not want him to be where he is today? Did they have any skeleton in their cupboard? Are they afraid? |
Both are good men. Soludo focused on strenght, Sanusi is focusing on ethics. |
Future political amibtion? Maybe. The Hosni way? You and I know that cannot happen in Naija. Anyway, I have heard you and will like to promote interesting topics opened by members too on top spots. Kajiko? ![]() |
On the Tinubu/AC family thread, I have no idea of where it is. I didn't touch any thread on Tinubu/AC/family imposition. Maybe it degenerated into fights and other Mods here delete it. It's not even impossible that the thread is still around but due to no activities drew to back pages. I have been accused of deleting a thread in the past, but I dug up the thread from page 3 and the accuser looked stupid. Everything on NL is Mod's fault. I don't know why approval rating which is common everywhere in the world is turning to a big deal here. This is like any other poll. For the fact that this poll is not favouring some people's man, they are calling for my head. Some past polls have favoured this same person and nobody raised this kind of allegation. It's a pity. |
Which motion? Can you point to any section of NL or any other forum where decision on which thread is stickied is subject to motion? Haba, ore. I opened the threads in official capacity as moderator of this section and invariably coordinator of activities here, not on personal level as member. I implored people to go and register, initiated an issues-based campaign thread, opened polls etc. I don't know where the monopoly is coming from. Maybe I should extend the right to warn and PM to members too. I am the Mod, as long as the forum owner wants me there, and the duty of a moderator, politics at that, is to make the section as interesting and lively as possible by coming with initiatives. In newspaper sites, it is common to find opinion polls by the side, with different topics from time to time, on NVS & SR, there are opinion polls, special corners for articles on raging topics(like the Philip Emegwali conundrum, CIV crisis, sit-tight leaders etc). When NVS stickied articles on Philip Emegwali for over 3 months now, nobody says they are against PE. We try to come up with initiatives here by initiating polls and opening discussions of very important national issues, here is the result. All the threads I stickied are clearly official and far from border on personal inclinations. When we opened the thread/poll on PDP primary, and GEJ won by landslide, the Atiku or IBB people did not raise this kind of accusations. Guys, let's learn to avoid unnecessary suspicion. |
There are many ways he could have helped Mimiko. There could have been a covert alliance between AC and LP in 2007, Tinubu may have relaxed AC apparatus in Ondo state in 07 to support Mimiko, he could have helped in the reclaim of his stolen mandate by supporting him financially in court. Mimiko has never denied having Tinubu's backing. |
By popular demand, I'm putting this up for the third time. About 7 months ago when a similar poll was put up here, the president got close to 80%, four months ago, precisely October 2010, he got 41%(https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-525669.0.html). Now, given the chain of events that have passed in the last four months, forumers have asked to know the rating, one year on as President(acting for 3 months, substantive for 9 months). Oya, let's go. The thread will be on for one month. |
Lagosboy:Amin ati amin. |
Another incoherence from Mr President that will be interpreted and re-interpreted in days to come. I expect his media aides to come out and say that's not he wanted to say or meant. ![]() |
I agree with you. I'm moving it to Celeb section. |
recoome:I respect Unilag, but with bombs like the bolded, I'm afraid Unilag needs to watch its admission policy. |
Much as I considered sending it to Celebrity section while moving it, there is clearly nothing wrong in having it here. THis involves religious conversion and clearly fits here. |
I'm majorly pro-Buhari and to some extent pro-Ribadu while Aisha is pro-Ribadu. We have been assigned the job before GEJ candidacy came up. While I'm entitled to my personal opinions, I have never used Mod privilege against supporters and candidacy of any candidate. Abi u wan 'promote' us too to 'Supreme court'? ![]() |
"She has been toying with the idea for quite a while now and when she was imprisoned at Century Regional Detention Facility in 2007, she encountered a few people who had already converted," Mr Brinkham said. By converting to the Muslim faith, Paris Hilton has decided to shun her old life as a celebrity skank. Speaking from an Islamic study retreat in Jeddah, she said: "I have now found total peace in my life. Before, I used to be known as an STD-ridden streetwalker , a 'hoe' and a person of loose morals, but now, things have changed. Allah be praised." Hollywood Jihad Ms Hilton plans to return to Los Angeles next week to start her own Islamic school in the middle of Beverly Hills. "Forget Scientology or Kaballah. This is the religion to be in now. I'm not going to be wearing a piece of red string on my wrist or walk around like a robot talking to Xenu. Islam is the new must-have religion. and I'm going to spread the word of the Koran to everyone," an excited Paris Hilton said. Paris Hilton also plans to change her name to 'Tahirah' which means 'Pure, chaste' in Arabic. Her Islamic school will open in July and is set to become a popular Hollywood spiritual haunt for many celebrities. |

LOL @ Odunnu's censor comment. Meanwhile, we don't delete pro-GEJ posts. We delete offensive, insulting posts as well as threads that go against forum rules like duplicated, unsubstantiated topics. I can't remember the last time I even deleted a post. But we are used to all these sha. We have been accused of fronting for IBB in the past. |
I will watch this match by God's grace, only because of Joel Obi and Nwankwo. Want to see them in national colours. |
Much as I condemn the attack, I think PDP governors in these northern states can begin to pack their loads from government house. I see CPC sweeping the north in April. |
Ciroma and MPLF are featherweights. They cannot get Buhari 1000 votes. The same people that cannot deliver the North, or even their homestates, for Atiku. |
Honestly, it's very difficult to disabuse people's mind anout this reigning sentimenst across the land, especially in the South here. Buhari has the goodwill among those of educated and informed minds on the cyberspace, in the newspapers etc. Veteran journalists and columnists like Femi Adesina, Dimgba Igwe, Sina Adedipe are all rooting for Buhari, but the reality is we constitute a minority. Unfortunately, the uninformed men on the street, those in the garage, in the restaurant etc are all rooting for Jonathan in the South, especially Lagos here. They have no idea about what is going on, that PDP cannot offer this country any good, all they know is Jonathan is divine candidate and that enough of 'awusa' ruling us. To make matters worse, the Buhari team do not have enough money to embark on aggressive campaign that will personally every Tunde or Chinedu on the street of Lagos or Ibadan or Aba. |
Meanwhile, I'm moving the thread to Education. |
OYINBOGOJU:****death***** Oh, Great Ife, Great Awo. Word fails me!!! |
Uninformed minds like this poster are better ignored. I, for one, select who I argue with. Mrinfo is better is far from being one. Somebody that doesn't know the homestate of a public figure like Tunde Bakare, is not worth taking seriously. |
