chrisooblog:Senegal has had good players in the last 5 years but bad team. They did poorly in last AFCON and WC with same team. They are looking like CIV's golden generation of Drogba, Toure brothers, Kalou, etc. They didn't win anything until Drogba and co quit. But you will always rate them as one of favorites in pre-tournament rating because they have the quality. |
fabyom:Player for player, Senegal easily trumps Nigeria. We don't have any player as big as Khalidou Koulibaly and Sadio Mane. Inter's Keita Balde is also highly rated. See the clubs their players play and compare with ours. SENEGAL SQUAD Goalkeepers: Abdoulaye Diallo (Rennes, France), Alfred Gomis (Spal, Italy), Edouard Mendy (Reims, France) Defenders: Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli, Italy), Moussa Wague (FC Barcelona, Spain), Pape Abdou Cisse (Olympiacos, Greece), Salif Sane (Schalke,Germany), Youssouf Sabaly (Bordeaux,France), Lamine Gassama (Goztepe, Turkey), Saliou Ciss (Valenciennes, France), Cheikhou Kouyate (Crystal Palace, England) Midfielders: Alfred Ndiaye (Malaga, Spain), Santy Ngom (Nancy, France), Idrissa Gana Gueye (Everton, England), Keprin Diatta (Club Brugge, Belgium), Pape Alioune Ndiaye (Galatasaray, Turkey), Sidy Sarr (Lorient, France), Henri Saivet (Bursaspor, Turkey) Forwards: Ismaila Sarr (Rennes, France), Keita Balde (Inter Milan, Italy), Mbye Niang (Rennes, France), Moussa Konate (Amiens, France), Mbaye Diagne (Galatasaray, Turkey), Sada Thioub (Nimes, France), Sadio Mane (Liverpool, England) *** As for Morocco, I hope you know that 2 key members of the Ajax team are from Morocco. They also have players in Borrusia Dortmund, etc |
chrisooblog:Midfield is Ghana's traditional strong point, just as Nigeria tends to produce attackers (strikers & wingers) more. Some of the best footballers in Ghanaian history (Abedi Pele, Essien, Appiah, Muntari, etc) were midfielders. Compared to Ghana's team of old, this team is not strong, but Ghana's strength has always been that nationalistic fighting spirit on the field. Like Cameroun, their players are usually very committed, and take national team assignment very seriously. You see them wailing seriously after losing a match. Compared to our players who hardly cry when we lose an important match. |
chrisooblog:Thanks God we had enough gap to still top the group after the 3 point deduction, otherwise, we would not have gone for that WC. |
Truidstar:I know they also issues with team, but I don't think we have a team too. |
andrew444:We won on the field, but because we fielded an ineligible player, we were awarded loss weeks later. This was in the 2018 WC qualifiers. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/sports/football/252267-world-cup-fifa-rules-nigeria-awards-algeria-3-0.html |
Dannyxy:How is Nigeria more solid than Senegal, Morocco or even CIV? |
andrew444:A Senegalese can say this of Nigerian team too. |
CookieLaVee:Their own first stage, after screening their CV and qualifications, is interview. |
darado:I am not an insider in NNPC but I have worked in the industry for close to 12 years and I know the industry very well. |
esmeralda1:The only people that did not write test are managerial cadre EH. |
Burchester:Actual interview dates will determine. We had 5 batches in Lagos, one in Abuja and one in PH for the NLNG 2015 recruitment, and 3 in Lagos, 1 in Abuja for the last DPR recruitment. A good number of the candidates we prepared are in those companies now. |
irumole1975:Guy, pls don't ever mention my name again. I'm an optimist. Except a major event happens (eg split of NNPC via passage of PIGB, or change of NNPC GMD), this recruitment will be completed and people will get jobs by merit in this recruitment. I can vouch for that. Don't ever bring me into that shit you're saying again pls. Otherwise, I will report you for ban here. |
geektrovert:Go and prepare for interview. I also have close friends chasing this NNPC job. I wish I could help anyone by receiving "details to give somebody". By the way, a career firm I co-own, JARUSHUB, is organizing interview coaching for those that will be invited for interview, for a small fee. |
I spoke with the PA to one of the COOs of NNPC yesterday and he confirmed the interview invite will be sent soon. How soon, he doesn't know himself. |
irumole1975:Pls don't bring my name into this kind of lowly talk. |
badassdude:From the discussions in the 2012 thread, northerners wore native dresses, so I will say it is in order. |
Temitope009:ok sir |
Mandem101:Iwobi can play as a midfielder too. Wingers like Musa and Chukwueze can also be counted as midfielders. |
SENEGAL SQUAD Goalkeepers: Abdoulaye Diallo (Rennes, France), Alfred Gomis (Spal, Italy), Edouard Mendy (Reims, France) Defenders: Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli, Italy), Moussa Wague (FC Barcelona, Spain), Pape Abdou Cisse (Olympiacos, Greece), Salif Sane (Schalke,Germany), Youssouf Sabaly (Bordeaux,France), Lamine Gassama (Goztepe, Turkey), Saliou Ciss (Valenciennes, France), Cheikhou Kouyate (Crystal Palace, England) Midfielders: Alfred Ndiaye (Malaga, Spain), Santy Ngom (Nancy, France), Idrissa Gana Gueye (Everton, England), Keprin Diatta (Club Brugge, Belgium), Pape Alioune Ndiaye (Galatasaray, Turkey), Sidy Sarr (Lorient, France), Henri Saivet (Bursaspor, Turkey) Forwards: Ismaila Sarr (Rennes, France), Keita Balde (Inter Milan, Italy), Mbye Niang (Rennes, France), Moussa Konate (Amiens, France), Mbaye Diagne (Galatasaray, Turkey), Sada Thioub (Nimes, France), Sadio Mane (Liverpool, England) |
Femeto:Are you joking? One of the most highly rated defenders in the world, Koulibaly, is from Senegal. Man U and Juve are currently dangling $100m for the guy. Have you also heard of Keita Balde formerly of Monaco, now of Inter? Senegal has better player than Nigeria in every position. You want to compare our players who play in backwater teams with players that play for Inter See the clubs Senegal squad members play for SENEGAL SQUAD Goalkeepers: Abdoulaye Diallo (Rennes, France), Alfred Gomis (Spal, Italy), Edouard Mendy (Reims, France) Defenders: Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli, Italy), Moussa Wague (FC Barcelona, Spain), Pape Abdou Cisse (Olympiacos, Greece), Salif Sane (Schalke,Germany), Youssouf Sabaly (Bordeaux,France), Lamine Gassama (Goztepe, Turkey), Saliou Ciss (Valenciennes, France), Cheikhou Kouyate (Crystal Palace, England) Midfielders: Alfred Ndiaye (Malaga, Spain), Santy Ngom (Nancy, France), Idrissa Gana Gueye (Everton, England), Keprin Diatta (Club Brugge, Belgium), Pape Alioune Ndiaye (Galatasaray, Turkey), Sidy Sarr (Lorient, France), Henri Saivet (Bursaspor, Turkey) Forwards: Ismaila Sarr (Rennes, France), Keita Balde (Inter Milan, Italy), Mbye Niang (Rennes, France), Moussa Konate (Amiens, France), Mbaye Diagne (Galatasaray, Turkey), Sada Thioub (Nimes, France), Sadio Mane (Liverpool, England) |
safarigirl:Guys, don't rule Ghana out. Those guys are fighters on the field. They are not like our boys. They have a very good fighting spirit. Yes, they have not won it since 1982, but Ghana will always be an issue in every AFCON. |
Gbyms:The guy is making more sense than you. If you're familiar with recruitment processes, you will know he is right. |
safarigirl:They consistently make semis |
darkelf:I want Nigeria to win but I wont put money on Nigeria winning. |
By the way, here are the prize monies: 1st- $4.5m 2nd - $2.5m 3rd & 4th (semi-finalists) - $2m 5th - 8th (quarter-finalists) - $800k Noteworthy that the prize money for the AFCON winners is far less than what teams that were eliminated in the group stage at the last FIFA World Cup received ( $8m). |
Here is my assessment of the chances of each of the teams (done this for the last 11 years) FAVOURITES -Egypt -Senegal -Morocco OUTSIDE CHANCES -Cameroun -Nigeria -Ghana -CIV -Algeria FIGHTING CHANCES Tunisia Congo Mali Guinea South Africa NEVER-SAY-NEVER - Angola - Tanzania - Zimbabwe - Burundi NO-HOPERS -Benin -Uganda -Mauritania -Madagascar -Kenya -Namibia -Guinea Bissau Now, on a personal level, which do I want to win? 1. Nigeria (for obvious reason) 2. Mali (they have been underachieving for long - mostly gets knocked out in semis) Which do I think will win? Morocco or Egypt Senegal have very good individual players but not a great team. |
Wow, Iheanacho dropped! |
yunusaboto:What's typhude? Do you mean typhoid? Typhoid is a non-issue. You wont be disqualified for typhoid. |
simplebb:Private sector employment letters contain all salary information (salary and all allowances), it doesn't work like that in government companies - at least in DPR and NNPC that I know of. Upfront is housing allowance + other allowances (generally termed fringe benefits in the letter). |
AAA593:Better than Norway? Kidding, right? Same Nigeria team that did not make a single through pass? Even short pass no dey reach target. Joke of the century. They were 10 times better than Nigeria. |
