Uganda beating Congo is an upset. Congo has more stars. |
Earthquake3:I think Neymar is the closest to Ronaldinho in recent years in terms of moving ball although less of a ball passer. |
iSlayer:I agree. CIV is also a quality team. |
By the way, it is obvious that Zimbabwe used that game against Nigeria to test the tactics they used yesterday. "Hold stronger opponents for long to prevent conceding goals, then attack in the last 20 minutes; if we can't score, let's aim for draw" They lost but it wasn't a bad outcome for them. |
iSlayer:OK. If strength is about quality of players, at least 2 countries are stronger than Nigeria. |
iSlayer:Define strength |
Zimbabwean goalkeeper my man of the match |
111sunshine:Unfortunately true. |
Not surprised. Qatar Airways are extremely fantastic. |
TheGoodJoe:Forlan was very technical in that display. 70% of strikers, especially African strikers, will hit that ball straight - it doesn't matter if it entered net or not. 20% will cut once as he did cut, but will shoot after cutting (rather than still play to a team mate and get a clearer net as he did when he scored). You get very few of African forwards that can think on the spot and do this. I can only think of Kanu. Eto'o will likely cut once and shoot. Drogba will likely shoot on first receipt on the ball. All of them will still likely score, but the grand way in which the goal was scored takes more technique. |
LOL I can relate. My 5 year old sometimes wakes up by 1am to ask when next we will travel to Dubai. |
Crazy things happen!!! |
I can imagine how their hearts were beating when that penalty was about to be played |
A friend documented this The 32nd edition of Africa's flagship football competition; THE AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS(AFCON) gets underway some hours from now in Egypt. Nigeria will be making its 18th appearance. It is noteworthy to state it has also finished in the TOP 3(won a medal) 14 times. On 3 occasions emerged the champions, came 2nd in 4 editions, finished 3rd in 7 tournaments. 12 Nigerian footballers have the distinction of winning medals for first, second and third place in the AFCON. 1. Muda Lawal(Gold = 1980, Silver = 1984, Bronze = 1976 and 1978) 2. Stephen Keshi(Gold = 1994, Silver = 1984 and 1988, Bronze = 1992) 3. Rashidi Yekini(Gold = 1994, Silver = 1984, 1988 and 1990, Bronze = 1992) 4. Augustine Eguavoen(Gold = 1994, Silver = 1988, Bronze = 1992) 5. Alloy Agu(Gold = 1994, Silver = 1990, Bronze = 1992) 6. Okechukwu Uche(Gold = 1994, Silver = 1990, Bronze = 1992) 7. Thompson Oliha(Gold = 1994, Silver = 1990, Bronze = 1992) 8. Mutiu Adepoju(Gold = 1994, Silver = 2000, Bronze = 1992) 9. Finidi George(Gold = 1994, Silver = 2000, Bronze = 1992) 10. Austin Okocha(Gold = 1994, Silver = 2000, Bronze = 2002, 2004 and 2006) 11. Sunday Oliseh Bis(Gold = 1994, Silver = 2000, Bronze = 2002) 12. Victor Ikpeba(Gold = 1994, Silver = 2000, Bronze = 1992 and 2002) Only Raber Madjer of Morocco also has such. |
careytommy37:Unlike Senegal or CIV players. |
Ideye still dey play ball? Interesting that this guy always gets decent clubs to sign him - from Sochaux to Dynamo Kiev to West Brom to Olympiacos to Malaga, he has played in very good clubs that even better players hope to play for. He must have a good agent. |
Qaribullahi:I also doubt. |
Kolasheyi:Good talk, but our past students that are currently in NLNG, DPR, Shell, Oando, etc will not call interview tutorials a waste. By the way, we never said you must attend our tutorials to pass. It is just like ICAN exam center. Some people need coaching, some study alone and pass. |
Patosky4U:Saw what coming? Joke or what? Did anybody tell you he is close to the president in Aso Rock to know who the president wants to sack? |
Jadue:No date until NNPC releases dates for actual interview. It has to be close to the actual interview dates so the training remains fresh before you go for actual interview. On PH, we are not sure of PH, we need minimum of 20 people to show interest before it becomes economical for us to travel there. We are sure of getting minimum of 20 people in Lagos and Abuja so those ones are confirmed. |
Bluekhid:You said this test result is taking too long after less than 3 weeks? Seriously? Even private sector test for 20 people takes longer. Go and check the 2011/2012 NNPC thread to see the number of months it took between test and interview. It is not about releasing result, it is about analysing the result and making decisions on interview and putting in place resources to conduct interview before sending interview invites out. It is not JAMB result that everyone will get result and use to process admission. It involves a lot of analysis and decisions and planning for interview before inviting people for interview. Unlike JAMB that will just release result for everybody, JAMB is just the contractor for conducting the test and sending test scores. It is not JAMB that will analyse the test, make decisions on cut-off, get management approval for interview, fix dates for interview, allocate and inform interviewers in advance. All these complex bureaucracies are not in JAMB result process. |
mvem:It has always been like that. All mass recruitments ever done by NNPC, at least 50% of the intakes were by merit. I have seen too many people without connection get jobs in NNPC to agree with that shit that you must have connection before you get job there. It's just impossible that all the 100 people they will recruit, for example, will come via connection. Just fight for the spaces available for merit. And I'm sure that can't be less than 50%. This connection talk is very defeatist. I hate to hear it. I mentioned that in the book I wrote in 2014. I have been on a mission to disabuse people's minds of this. Look, there are some interview performances that make you irresistible even if the devil was the one that interviewed you. Focus on wowing them and forget this connection talk. NNPC has probably over 10k staff, are you saying everyone got there by connection? That was how one guy was expressing same defeatist mindset while undergoing last DPR recruitment. The guy is in DPR now. |
Some NNPC people actually read this thread. My contact actually told me he saw what he told me written on NL exactly as it happened and asked whether I was the one that wrote it. I said I was. |
Greatken007:Gbam. Just summarize your CV. Dont make it too short or too long. An easy way to fail is no being able to anwer that question well - if you cnnot coherently talk about yourself, what else will you be able to talk on? But if asked to tell them something about you that is not on your CV, different thing. In that case, mention something light about you, but make sure it is something that is not relevant to the job so as to avoid the question "So why didn't you put it on your CV?" Personally, if asked to say something about me that is not on my CV, I will say I am an Arsenal fan (with a smiling face). If asked why I didn't put it on my CV, I will say I don't think it's relevant to decision on my hiring, and that a CV is meant to be summary of life course and s short as possible. But be sure of whatever you say (and and always think of potential follow up questions your answer can trigger). You may have someone on the panel that is also an Arsenal fan and the next question may be for me to list all the 11 Arsenal players that started Euro 2019 final. So always think of follow up questions to any answer you want to give in interviews in general. And that's why I don't encourage people to lie. If you say you like reading, be prepared for follow up question on the books you read recently; if you say you love movies, be ready for follow up questions on recent movies you watched. Oh, Jarus, interview training has not started nah. LOL |
jihday:Exactly. Nigerians have forgotten we have also been a beneificiary of a VAR penalty call. |
darado:See prices here sir https://www.jarushub.com/nnpc-interview-coaching/ |
epaulo:Why not arrive Abuja earlier and attend our Abuja session? Or if you live close to Lagos you can join Lagos session and return same day or next day. We had sessions in Lagos, Abuja and PH during NLNG recruitment in 2015 and I remember someome came from Owerri to join the PH session. We had sessions in Lagos and Abuja only for the DPR recruitment and I remember someone came from Kaduna to join the Abuja session. Lagos and Abuja sessions are confirmed by God's grace as venues for this NNPC sessions. If we get up to 20 people that choose PH, we will hold a session in PH too for this NNPC mock session. Otherwise, it is uneconomical to travel to PH. If you don't live in any of those 3 locations, we can still hold a session in your location, provided we get minimum of 20 candidates willing to attend (or you pay fees of 20 people. lol), and provided your location has an airport (I don't travel by road except to my village for sallah. Got serious phobia for road travel). Alternative is Skype session. |
Millerules:lol. My partner in charge of pricing/costing will beat me. I'm only the head of training. It costs a lot. I will take a leave from my 9-5 job for that week. Our other trainers will also do. We will fly to Abuja and possibly PH for the sessions. About 3 people. Flight costs an average of 60k per return trip. 3 people = 180k. We will lodge in a hotel. Another cost. We will rent venue in Abuja and PH. Another cost. For the Lagos sessions, no travel requirements, but if our small office in Yaba cannot accommodate the candidates, we may need to rent a venue nearby. Another cost. And of course, we will pay our staff. We will also spend money to print material for attendees. You can see it costs a lot to organize this coaching sessions, especially for mass recruitments like NLNG, DPR and NNPC. And of course, we also want to make profits from our services. So my brother, that pricing is fair enough. But trust me, we make a lot of differences. Ask people that have attended our coaching sessions in the past. An assistant director in CBN once paid almost 100k to fly me to Abuja to coach her in promotion interview. |
mos4phy:You just gave the same update I gave. And you went on to say my earlier update contradicts your update. Isn't that confusing? In any case, it's not like some computer programme. It can change. My update only gave an indication. |
Nelsmannnnnnnnn:We pray you get the invite for interview. We will be happy to train you for the interview and will be happy to see you join the candidates we have coached that got jobs in the companies we prepared them for. |
MediaLife:Hmmnn, I fell for the clickbait. |
By the way, I hope to see you guys at the interview coaching/mock interview session we want to organize for candidates that get invited for NNPC interview. We did this for candidates in the 2015 NLNG recruitment and for candidates in the DPR recruitment and a very good number of the candidates that attended our coaching session were successful at the interview. When you guys have a date for the actual interview, we will fix a date for the mock session/coaching. PS: It is not compulsory to attend our session. It is just like attending ICAN or GCE coaching class and mock exam. It does not mean anyone that does not attend will not pass. But it is highly recommended way to prepare. We will have a class with candidates, teaching them tips on answering tough interview questions tailored to NNPC, sharing useful industry information like PIB, current affairs etc, thereafter our coaches, who are oil and gas workers, including myself, will form a panel and interview you based on your CV, the role your applied for, general questions about NNPC etc. We will then give you feedback on stuff like what you should not have said, what you should have said, how you should have framed your answer better, your composure etc. Just think of it like a mock exam to the main exam. It helps you know how prepared you are. It also helps you know potential areas in your CV or experience that could be questioned on the day of your actual NNPC interview and have a ready response to them (to minimize shock). Again, it is not compulsory, but people that attended previous sessions we had for NLNG, DPR, Oando, Shell etc confirmed our training was very helpful. Full information on our website: https://www.jarushub.com/nnpc-interview-coaching/ Some of the candidates we coached that got NLNG job in 2015 commended us here: https://www.nairaland.com/1495870/2013-nigeria-liquified-natural-gas/155#36923757 NLNG, 2015: https://www.nairaland.com/1495870/2013-nigeria-liquified-natural-gas/126#34148257 DPR, 2017: https://www.nairaland.com/4200568/dpr-interview-invite#62821540 |
