The essence of going to the induction ceremony is to receive your certificate. If you’ve passed the qualifying exams, ICAN cannot withhold your certificate for the sole reason that you were absent.

Simply register for the next induction if the upcoming one is inconvenient.

davidylan: Not true. I have experienced this so so many times to tell you that it is not about "being scared"... to such a person, it is a DELIBERATE way of exercising a sort of power over you. The person does this knowing how much it hurts you on purpose. It is all about punishment, manipulation and spite.

The ICAN/ATS induction ceremony is coming up on the 10th,11th, and 12th of this month at ICAN Student's Centre, Amuwo Odofin. The problem is I won't be able to attend; I want to know how I can get my certificate from them if I'm absent. I already called their office and the person I spoke with impatiently rushed me off the phone. I called back and he yelled at me insisting I must attend. Has anyone been in this situation before?

Ignorance!!! The power of bees have been underestimated this side of the universe. Even pest control in advanced countries can't do anything when bees sting in huge numbers. The only advice they'll offer is to leave the vicinity as fast as you can. African bees are highly aggressive, protective of their hive and will sting anything or anyone that threatens them. One sting from a bee in itself doesn't kill...its when they sting in large numbers.
As long as humans continue to encroach on the natural habitat of those bees, they should expect more encounters with them...

Hang in there love, computer science is not an easy course. I know because I'm studying economics and had to do programming in my second year. In all honesty, 1.96 for a start is poor but yes you can still make a first class. You need to start by reviewing your schedule: after every class, do u head for the library or ur hostel? Don't deceive yourself into thinking you can study in your dorm room.
Secondly, what do u do with your weekends? Its very possible (and advisable) for u to spend it in the school library. Plan for the whole day, pack some food and bury your head in ur books at the library.
Third, keep your ears and eyes open. In your class, there'll be people who'll have access to materials but they won't publicize it. If you're observant, you'll notice them, they're not usually loud so you'll have to shine your eyes and ears.
Fourth, chances are not everyone in your class is as 'new' as you are: some of your classmates have previous qualifications from other institutions. You would do well to acquaint yourself with some of them.
Finally, Speaking from experience, young freshers like to stick together to their own detriment. Expand your friendship base now in your first year with intelligent people so that 3 years from now, if u need their help ( and believe me you will need their help) it won't be so difficult to approach them.

Hiya! I'm 21 years old, I don't have any itches anywhere, and I don't feel any menstrual pain without seeing blood. That being said, Marriage is not the solution to this issue. I didn't do anything about it when it first happened. I remember skipping the month of march and menstruating in April.

Hello everyone! I just want to find out how normal this is. I've skipped my period for june and july and Its giving me serious cause for concern. I've been reading a lot of stuff  the web about it. Its definitely not pregnancy because I'm not sexually active but I'm still very very worried. I read that the maximum time I should wait is three months but if I wait three months and it still doesn't come, I know i'll be a nervous wreck. This isn't the first time its happening. It first happened when I was about 15 (when I first started my periods) and irregular periods were common. I've missed some other periods but by no longer than a month. Does anybody have any advice or has anybody experienced this?

P.S: I'm NOT sexually active and I'm not on birth control.

Hello everyone! Yesterday I was checking something  wikipedia and all of a sudden the page sort of formatted itself. Normally, u know how search results on wikipedia look like with table of contents and everything...but this one looks very different..it has down ward pointing arrows I'm supposed to click on to display the information but the thing doesn't even work...i'll include a picture. This is how all my search results are displayed on wikipedia. I use a blackberry storm2 and I've tried clearing my cache a zillion times..nothing's working. Please tell me what to do.. In that picture I was searching for "my name is khan" and that's how it appeared..I hope u can see what I mean
