akinola98: Mr Agbaje
You contacted me privately over a week ago on your own accord, asking me what I wanted to get this floor issue resolved
As u already know, I told u the same thing I have been saying all along that you need to repair the multiple cracks ASAP to prevent floor deterioration… u came back to me telling me to go and buy materials to fix the shitty work you did, which was under warranty when I contacted you but I refused as earlier …
Mr Agbaje, why did u contact me in the first place ?? When u knew u wouldn’t fix this problem and u would still stand on your initial demand . The demand for:
-2 buckets of color hardener. -1 bucket of release agent. -4 bags of cement. -5 buckets sand of wheel barrow for a “small crack” job is not going to happen
I see your travelling to the site as a show for Nairaland, seeking sympathy support or Kudos NOT a way to resolve this issue because u are still adamant with your request so we are back to square one, with the stamped floor damage deteriorating What product of colour Gardner and release agent was used? |

crossfm: You are right, but in this case he is now a full blown politician now. In fact some people are projecting him to be the next governor of the state, from the little I read in his profile. Not just a projection but what he wants. Some things are best not discussed online. |

crossfm: Hehehe.
Land owners or the governors boys.
The response was to quick, and sounds desperate. Why wait until he quite his position before calling him out.
I don't know the commissioner, but the fact that he resigned his juicy position as the commissioner for Land's shows he has some dignity. I say this because we all know our normal politicians will rather die than resign. Being a commissioner doesn't make him a politician, its an appointment. So he either resign or get sacked |

n3xt: Maybe it’ll cost a little more but at N3,000 / 0.6sqm (excluding studs and installation cost which is considerably reasonable), I think the cost would be cheaper than plastering/screeding/painting or plastering and applying tiles to achieve same result in the long run.
I guess this can replace my proposed use of brick tiles for exterior
The pics below are naija installs. Currently working on one, would share final looks here and on kobocity.
I agree completely but it can’t be compared with the benefits of a material that offers more in terms of value.
1. Low maintenance 2. Durability (doesn’t crack or warp) 3. Aesthetically pleasing 4. Waterproof / Fireproof
Not new though. @dominionng has been using this for years. |
Car Talk › Re: Experienced Drivers, How Do We Solve This Kind Of Tyre Issue? by Jasobry: 8:44pm On Sep 27, 2021 |
Timagex: Hello car lovers! Hope Monday was good? So, I had to change a Tyre in an emergency situation today and I encountered a problem. After unscrewing two wheel bolts from the Tyre, the third one was not coming off as the wheel spanner could not grip it. Taking a closer look, I discovered that the edges around the wheel bolt has no friction. It was almost round. It took the intervention of a vulcanizer before the bolt could be unscrewed.
My question is, incase of situations where the service of professionals cannot be reached, how can such an issue be handled? Please move to the front page for wider views.. Pad the spanner with light cloth and unscrew |

n3xt: It depends on your soil formation. I’m currently working on a floor and we are reinforcing with 3.5mm Wire Mesh.
If I’m doing similar stuff in a waterlogged site, I’ll do 4mm and above.
_________
Both interlock and stamped concrete have their pros and cons. But the odds favor stamped concrete the most. Very solid soil, but some people experience cracks |
Properties › Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by Jasobry: 6:22pm On Sep 26, 2021 |
I need a clarification please. Between stamped concrete and interlocking which is ideal?
Also is it necessary to reinforce the floor with rod before stamped concrete? |

gbadexy: Most part of my experience comes from feedback from my painters and screeders who are actually on the field and encounter various challenges. My main screeder told me he doesn't like working with or building screeded with portland cement ( grey cement). He said after a couple of years, they tend to peel and fall off. They have tendency to crack also, especially if cheaply done with little p.v.a binder added. If sufficient extra binder is used, it would be better but then how is that much different from the basecoat. Only the filler in basecoat is replaced with little cement as the pop emulsion used to mix it also has basecoat filler. Cement needs proper hydration and certain thickness and with cement, pop emulsion and whateverbond, it would be applied light and I suspect dry fast without sufficient time to hydrate. Besides, I've stated it here severally that cement forms a chemical reaction with sand (silica) by gelling them. Both on the block surface and the plaster mix and they don't form any reaction with calcium carbonate in pop emulsion used to mix them. They just act as a further inert filler with the calcium carbonate in such capacity. It may hydrate itself and harden somewhat but there is little interaction with the pop emulsion used to mix it. The only thing holding it to the wall is the pva bond added and the amount used would determine the strength. I posted a building that was screeded close to six years before the owner decided to paint it as it was white and looked painted and was used as a reference point in the area ( white house). Perhaps p.o.p experts and screeders can shed more light to say if they have ever encountered basecoat cracking. It's what oyinbo people use in screeding! I beg to differ, a friend's how was screeded with portland cement since 2013. No defect till date. |

Dennis3D: I think the black cement resist weather more than the base coat in my opinion. Maybe more experts can air their views. I used stone dust to plaster my walls and used black cement to screed the interior |

Badgers14: Spyder880,
I have always wondered why we don't invest in bigger units of this water heater in our building projects here in Nigeria.
So instead of having this 15ltrs single water heater, we use one big unit for the whole house... (see attached picture)
My present build has a central water heater. Hidden in a secret place. I dislike this multiple heaters in every room
What might be the reason for this?
I have even checked out house for sale listing online on high end newer houses in lekki, abuja etc and they were all show casing the single units.
Any idea/hypothesis on why this single units are not always used here in Nigeria?
