I just had a arguement with my engineer. he was inisting i buy Bua cement rather than Dangote for tiling BUT i told him what is important to me is the avaialability and cost of the cement and not the brand. i also told him i have used dangote cement for tiling purposes in the past.

The engineer was aruguement was that Tilers prefer Bua and i told him how can you an engineer be swallowing hook, line and sinker what people say without a valid reason why?

Please am i wrong by saying i will be using dangote cement for my tiling work? please correct me if am i wrong

Let's assume the highest shipping cost per kg is ₦5,500(which is still high compared to what I pay), this gives us ₦11,000.

Cost of 10 lights is ₦8,400
+
Cost of shipping 10 lights to Ajao Estate Lagos is ₦11,000
+
Transportation from my office to pick it up is ₦2000

Total: ₦2000+₦11,000+₦8400= ₦21,400

Let's add profit margin of 50% of cost = ₦17,200

Profit + Cost= selling price
₦17,200 + ₦21,400= ₦38,600

₦38,600/10 items
Each item should be ₦3,860.

Let's just even increase everything, this takes us to ₦5,000 per unit.

At ₦5,000 per unit he's making over 50% as profit.

₦10,000 per item is greed

No amount for shipping+warehousing+transport+profit+etc can make a product price jump from 840 in Alibaba to 10,000 in jumia. This is clear stealing from the ignorant like me. Scam.

The first image is a well light advertised on Jumia at ₦10,000 each.

I bought 10 of this same light this week on Alibaba for ₦8400, that's ₦840 each

The second image is the evidence of my purchase, so it's not as if I'm making mouth with lies.

Well only builders that have done such before would be able to answer that.. Nigerite is the manufacturer of Kalsi board.. what I know about the construction is that your project can be completed within a month

True, sand is the only material that is cheap in SE. Did you know that a 10ton trip of laterite ( red sand) is 8k? Every other thing is expensive, even labour despite high unemployment. There is a project for duplex on ground now but builders price is still holding it. Considering logistics, if you were able to efficiently work over there, part of the problem for this project would have been solved.

Just like I said earlier, only sauna, Jacuzzi or complete shower cubicle hot bath are coupled in Nigeria.
Give me money and I will produce same item in the photo you shared here in a week with my aluminum guys, it's just the frosting pattern that might take time to achieve.
