It was based in Tribalism. Nothing more, nothing less.
A new can of worms have been open in Nigeria. Regions can start having 100% votes if well rigged.
Anyway, ask those who gave 99% votes. sad sad . The SS I understand but . . .

BusinessRe: Lagos-ilorin Passenger Train Service Starts Tomorrow by jason123(op): 4:30pm On Oct 27, 2011
This will go a long way in reducing the prices of food products in the south, hopefully!
BusinessLagos-ilorin Passenger Train Service Starts Tomorrow by jason123(op): 4:27pm On Oct 27, 2011
The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) would start Lagos-Ilorin passenger train service from tomorrow, a statement from the corporation said.

This signals the completion of track rehabilitation work between Lagos and Jebba by the Chinese contracting firm, China Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC).
The statement said the final track inspection was carried out October 21 – 22 for the purpose of ascertaining the level of preparedness and fitness of the tract section for safe running of train.

The inspection was under the leadership of Government Inspector of Railways and engineers from NRC, CCECC, Roughton consultancy and representatives from the Federal Ministry of Transport.

The Lagos – Ilorin Express train service will for the moment serve as the flag-ship of NRC passenger train service pending the completion of the Jebba – Kano line due for completion in December.

The statement said that management of NRC has assembled dedicated coaches and locomotive engines for the train service which will depart Lagos every Friday at 9:00am from Iddo terminus with a return journey to Lagos on Sundays.

The coaches are made up to 1st class sleeper, second class air-conditioned coaches and the economy class. There is also a restaurant coach and modern toilet facilities for passengers’ convenience, the statement said.

According to the statement, special operations staff have been deployed for the train service which also include medical officers and the Railway Police, adding that the train service is also fitted with baggage vans for bulk goods and farm produce.

The Lagos-Ilorin Express train service will be unique, as it provides the travelling public with a better alternative to the traffic congestion on the Lagos-Ibadan express road.

A failed state indeed! The sooner we unravel it into Four to five parts - Arewa, middle belt, oduduwa, Biafra, and Niger delta republics - the better for us.
There is nothing like ND republic except on the internet, of course. There is only Ijaw republic.

Well the drama is unfolding . .  We shall still hear the screams of marginalization from the same people who back stuffs like this . . .The Abia state eveiction is even more annoying . . . . but what can one do . . .it's was backed by the state house of assembly, obviously the Stamp of authority indulging all Abia indigenes whether in support or not  . . .
My guy, bull's eye! That is the exact thing that is happening. Sensible Nigerians know the Abia citizens do not support this except, the "E-Abia citizens". Likewise the Lagos and Ekiti move. Really, its quite shameful. Its like the mayor of London should announce the immediate deportation of Manchester citizens. Its unheard of!

There are yoruba peeps working in edo state government. Even in rivers state government, there was a time some rivers people were using it against odili. Even his adc (ola) was a yoruba guy. I know there are a lot of yorubas in warri, i did not just want to mention it. That was why i used rivers as an example. They are just trying to justify what is wrong.
I asked a question about if niger-delta states reciprocated the gesture and they failed to give an answer.
Forget internet gist. Most are out of touch with the realities of Naija. Its only on NL you'll see all sorts of maneuver to justify the unjustifiable. Southern leaders can be silly at times. Within a space of six months, Lagos, Ekiti and Abia have deported citizens of Nigeria. How many Northern leaders do you see doing that?

Some shameful posts abound here . . . .when are we going to move away from our Partisan and tribalistic veil for once . . .  This sudden occurrence of evicting non- indigenes for whatever flimsy reason won't serve all well on the long run . . . I forsee other states following the useless Abia state eviction exercise and then this . . . . Where will this lead us to . . . .Just wondering if Lagos decides to send people packing . . . then all hell would let loose screaming marginalization and oppression . . . . There were better ways of doing this than further demeaning the already battered psychic and mind set of this physically challenged individuals to life . . .considering how poorly managed our welfare system is in the country . . . Sad move in my opinion
The highlighted is the inevitable conclusion.
Although, other states have been doing it but Abia state kinda re-opened a can of worms.

To be honest it affected my real life too. A tenant of mine in lagos earned herself a quit notice. she was nasty and behind on her rent but paranoia about riots and my property being taken over because i am not an indigene sort of tipped the scale. But not to worry i am back to my senses and gave her more time
You can only start enjoying this site when you learn to ignore some worthless topics.

You have just told them the truth. A lot of Yorubas from Ondo come to Delta state (warri) to seek BETTER education. Its just a shame that some Ekiti peeps are justifying this move by the Governor.

@ gbawe - no offense meant but I am kind of new to this site and I drew up conclusions about many posters I felt were "lonely, losers" including u. For my impression I owe u an apology. Your post today just showed me how powerful hate media can be. If you are exposed to something eveyday its going to become part of u. I got a warning like this from jason123 the first time I felt pressed to reply a tribalistic post.

I am glad you took it to heart. We have all been down that road on this forum, to the extent that, I started feeling paranoid around my friends. I thank God for saving me!

This is another manifestation of the ugly nature of citizenship in Nigeria today. We have Delta state ejecting Northern Muslims, Ekiti state ejecting "foreign" disabled students and Lagos state deporting "foreign" beggars. Abia state nko? sad

There are several monorail projects all over Nigeria, the one I have witnessed its construction so far is the one in Port Harcourt, the project is scheduled to be commissioned next year. Why do we always look down on our governors in Nigeria? Does it mean we have lost faith in ALL of our politicians or what?
The only states I'll believe when they do projects of this scale is Rivers, Lagos, FCT (not a state), Delta and Imo; and perhaps, Oyo. Other states cannot afford it. Let's stop this self-deceit. The states mentioned above are also the top 5 richest states in Nigeria. Other states usually do such in a bilateral relationship. Like Ogun- Lagos.

Someone should post pictures of ACTUAL constructions, not 3-d images.

What I suggest the palliatives be, are free primary education with World standard schools or subsidised health care. Such things would be valued a lot and would directly benefit the common man.

If we go for free eductation then we can get XO computers or the new $36.00 Indian tablet for every student. I'd really love to see that.
What do you propose as the prefect antidote?? Free quality health care? PTF?? Perhaps, subsidy of public transportation?
Please, lets remove Kerosine subsidy and free mediocre education.
BusinessRe: Failure To Remove Fuel Subsidy Will Lead To Economy Collapse – GEJ by jason123: 9:34pm On Oct 25, 2011
PeterKbaba:
This issue is very easy to solve, the FG should repair the 4 existing refineries we have to full production level and since we don't have enough funds to build new refineries due to other infrastructural projects. The FG can simply bargain with the United States to come build 5 more refineries for the country with a monthly payment with our crude oil , maybe 200,000 barels monthly, till the money is completed, This would be inform of loan given buy the investor to build the refineries and we payback with oil, just like Trade By Barter, and after 2 years to 4 years, we have 5 refineries to refine our crude and help in providing more jobs,
You are using your brain. With this there will be no need for subsidy in the first place. . . . .for people who don't know, it cost about 5 Naira/litre to extract the Oil. Yet, you are willing to pay an extra 140 Naira for "foreign" distillateshuh? huh shocked shocked cry
BusinessRe: Failure To Remove Fuel Subsidy Will Lead To Economy Collapse – GEJ by jason123: 9:24pm On Oct 25, 2011
@Manny4life

Failure to leave subsidy will lead to economic collapse. For the populace to be so against it, that should tell you that something is deeply wrong with this move.
Some people in the "high" places will simply be controlling the inflation and deflation rate in Nigeria (Over-dependency on Oil). Apart from the FACT that he (GEJ) will NOT use the money derived wisely. Even of he tries to, our corrupt system is so bad that his efforts will seem like "NO effort".

We are saying the same thing. Ilajes bear Tosin while Itsekiris bear Tosan but most people just assume they are all Itsekiris. In fact, their communities (Ilajes) in Delta produce 10% of our oil.

No need to peddle lies here online

Do you know that Funsho WIlliams widow was to take over her husbands Guber campaign and contest for PDP flag but Koro would have none of that because since he killed Funsho to get the ticket he wont allow the widow to get there

On Lagos island that time, Koro handed guns to all his thugs and were terrorising ppl all over Lagos
Dayo, I'm closer to these people than you think. Don't try to teach me Lagos state politics. Yes, his wife continued for him, EVERYONE WAS A SUSPECT and hence, she did not want anyone on the candidates to visit. Later, Koro still visited.

Koro handed guns to thugs?? Where have you been getting these lies from? You think Koro is that prominent in Lagos Island?? I dey SERIOUSLY laugh o! The same Koro that was chased out when he was the chairman LILG and came to beg, is now the Koro that can freely hand guns to touts? shocked.
Even Jakande, at his age, has more prominence than Koro in LILG.

RENOVATING 10 Primary schools with 940m

As bad as Alams and Ibori were uduaghan managed to outdo both of them in a shorter period.
Dayo, it was here we saw a state as poor as Osun, say it will build a railway line. Have you asked yourself if osun state will ever get the money to execute such capital projects?? When you get the REAL answer, then you'll realise that the money for such a project was meant for his friends and family.

All most governors are bad so don't try to isolate any as "extra" bad. For all I know, Argbesola might have done worse but Delta's was; because Delta state is more prominent that Osun.
