And he spent several weeks in Police detention before OBJ issued an executive order to release him to enable him contest against Fashola?
They declined cause he was part of the people running for the gubernatorial post (everyone wa sa suspect). Obanikoro later came to visit their family in Dolphin estate. Guy, look towards Tinubu.

I never wanted to comment on this issue but I just felt if I dont say any thing about what is happening, I will be doing a diservice to Itsekiri nation. Uduaghan is a disgrace to Itsekiri nation. In fact his DNA should be investigated, he may not be an Itsekiri man. I say so because an average Itsekiri man will do every thing possible to attain excellence not for himself but for the pride of Itsekiri nation. Itsekiri does not give birth to a fool= Itsekiri eka bi akpa. Uduaghan is a fool and he cannot be said to be an Itsekiri man.
Aja mokin aghan, oma ale iwere to ma fe gbe ete wa gbene, ete wa tse toro. Owun nokan we wa gbo righoro gbagbe. Egin ma se de gbele ka fo. Ene wa fo jushi dowu nokan shibu. Rateshe ekpo to ritse mu gbe ne, ene maka da eru naja re.

God gave us crude oil that is why we are not complaining, as far as I am concern, Itsekiri man has not rule delta state.
The man is adding to our problem. When he want support, he comes to us and we give him support only to bring disgrace to us. If he does not have the ability to rule like Ibori who did far better than him, he should have told us to field another candidate. Itsekiri boys are more in the protest than other tribes, it is a shame,
Kpogede, thanks a lot for the insight. You are the true son of your father. Though I am not involved in Delta politics, I can see where you are coming from. Its just so so sad that this man had to disgrace us like this. As you said, this Uduaghan sounds like a true bas.tard. It seems he does not have the "development" DNA in him sad. I am glad we Itsekiris are also leading the way in the protest, lest they say we supported his wasteful ways.
Please, come online often. Thanks.

Beaf:
It seems that kerosene is the only thing that will remain subsidised as part of the palliative package for the poor. I lean in the direction of subsidy removal, but want to hear the full package for the poor first. We should all be ready to scrutinise it to make sure its properly targetted and executed.
As for riots, there will be none; the labour people don't have a hard stance already seem to be buying in, everyone wants to see the full palliative package before making a position.
Though I know your stance but the issue is not about helping the poor. Most poor homes are already using "gas" or electricity for cooking. Kerosine will make little or no impact in their lives.
The issues should be the pending hyper-inflation that will accompany this, the usefulness of the money gotten from the removal of subsidy and the building of our refineries to reduce the cost of petroleum products and reduce unemployment.

I hardly see how a package for the poor will be of any use, knowing fully well that we don't have a database. Moreover, the both the middle class and the "poor" will be "poorer". Therefore, it is worth saying that the removal of subsidy is no removal at all.

FIDAN:
Guy,dnt u knw dt apart from oil, land is another resources,Asaba has d land resources and besides it will cost more trying to develop Warri to a state capital required standard because 1-it is a riverine area 2-there is high rate of insecurity 3-no peace.there are quite more reasons.in my own opinion I must say that those against the igbo speaking area should count it as a blessing having such a blessed area like ASABA being part of Delta state.
I am not against it but I have to say, your line of argument is weak!
Going by your logic, the National capital should be in Kano, Taraba or Benue, after all, there is relative peace there. Its not riverine and the cost of build is cheap.

@Jason123 or whatever, one thing your likes love doing so well is distorting facts to suit your bruised ego.
Awo according to your assertion is laughing in his grave after institutionalising corruption and ethnicism which your group is known for.
If I might educate you further, after the indigenistation policy after the war, your brother's whose "administrative ingenuity" according to you destroyed the economic foundation of this country and you can see what your "competence" has led us to.
You are dissing your father not Ojukwu and I'll prefer a Gadafi handling things than for your ilk, atleast you can see what your brother Obj did with the country for eight years.
There are few Yoruba that I can stand up for Soyinka, Fela, major ishola williams, Gani the rest are losers.
Go and ask the likes of late prof Awojobi who was busy giving reasons why Ojukwu should not come back from Ivory coast, if you know history you know the rest of the story.
Bruised ego?? shocked shocked. Guy, I am an Itsekiri man for life!
I never insulted Ojukwu on this thread so your developed "complex" is your own headache.
I'll not go into history with you. Its not worth my time.

I wonder what Awo and others like him are currently thinking in their pathetic graves while a country the allegedly fought to "keep together" was matter of factly ranked an abysmal 41st out of 53 according to Mo Ibrahim's recent Governance Index rating for 2011? While some cyber tigers are busy dissin a great man loved by his people, and led them when a pogrom/holocoust with a strong intent to obliterate them was raging.
Today thesame people that were given £20 war severance fee now dominate every competitive facet of the Nigerian economy going by today's statistics, thesame people single handedly built the 3rd largest film industry that currently employs more people than all the govt establishment put together.
If I might indulge you further, thesame people that where denied access to the basic needs of life, has consistently dominated JAMB enrollment statistics for over two decades now, yet you cowards have the balls to call Ojukwu a coward.
If Ojukwu dies today, the ideals he fought for still lives on, unlike Awo, Boro etc.
Isaac Boro for the records happens to be one clueless and senile freedom fighter who was killed like a chicken, if I must educate those who dont know, the only position he has ever attained in his pathetic and miserable short life was a student union leader at UNN, a position that was given to him in an Igbo dominated uni, yet you call us bigots.
The other pus-e Asari who in his days @UNICAL was busy labelling Igbo lecturers his enemies after failing any course and did it consistently and got himself rusticated for poor performance.
Today he has abandoned his struggle, who is the coward then.
Edwin clarke on the other hand a coward in his own right, feels that getting the presidency will solve the Ijaw mans trouble after the north and west has continually violated the region and even had obj ordering a military campaign @ odi where your women and children where violated and maimed.
1) Awolowo is LAUGHING OUT LOUD in his grave! grin grin (an already discussed issue here on NL.)
2) Awolowo and Boro's idealogy lives on as Ojukwu and Bello's idea live on. The SW is still using Awo's idealogy to govern her politics and national strategy. Boro's ND republic still lives on, although, its mainly an Ijaw thing.

many of them especially those schooling in the east, i will say this again no easterner including midwesterner(even you) will come out and call ojukwu a coward whether you like him or not, dont you see what these yorubas are trying to do? divide the east and your asking me such silly question. even northerners wont call him that its only yorubas that have issues to grind with igbos that do that , yoruba should grow some balls and use their ethnicity instead of trying to hide behind other peoples ethnicity.
No. The issue is that the mistrust in the south is so much, that, any Northerner who schooled in the East or West and can speak Yoruba and Igbo fluently, can wake up and start a thread to divide the "South". If you guys cannot see the bigger picture instead of this "Yoruba vs Igbo" thing, then, I am truly sorry for us.

Yorubas hardly travel out of their region (it is a known fact in Nigeria), so how a "Yoruba" man can speak Igbo and Ijaw fluently is still amazing. If its not obvious to you that people like Harem or Ndu chuks can just form a Yoruba or Igbo username to post crap, then, you need to start question your objectivity.

actually i think igbos got it all wrong at the begining by doing a coup in a matter that had nothing to do with you, balewa declared a state of emergency in the western region and imprisoned awolowo and some silly igbo majors were busy planning to strike in a business that didnt matter to them.

Secondly if igbos were to mind their business then nigeria is finished the same way if they were to pull out of nigeria , where will gej be today without igbo support.
My candid advice goes to yorubas who have a very poor sense of history if nzeogwu didnt strike , there would not be a civil war and perhaps the whole of south western would have turned into south sudan with no oil. Let him who lives in a mud house not throw stones at glass house dwellers.
We all remember how abiola started and ended , if any nzeogwu had struck during abiola's saga, abacha or abdusalami would have released abiola and made him the veepee and minister for finance . And  nadeco would have joined hands again to fight igbos. Such is the politics of yorubas and igbos need to accept it.
Do not try to exhort yourself.
1) The state of emergency in the West was declared by both the North and the East.
2)The South west cannot be "Sudan". It has Oil (Ondo and Lagos) and access to sea.
3)Nzeogwu in Abiola's erahuhhuh?

Well I really cannot blame you, after all, the bible say in Proverbs21:2," All a man's ways seem right to him, but the LORD weighs the heart.". To you, Igbos are saints and angels. To each his own.

igbogolo:
So while you are being killed you should not protect yourself because you will be in a fight you cannot finish? Is this Ijaw reasoning 101? no wonder you people are the most ra*ped people on earth today!

You should comment based on the circumstances of the event. Igbos were being killed in the north and after the aburi accord talks broke down. there was a plan for the Yoruba people to declare their own republic as well to enable the seccession to be brief.

bit alas, the ijaw people turned back ( the cowards they are), followed by the yeereeebaas( they too double cowards too) leaving the igbos to go it alone. not long igbo streets in rivers and port harcourt were renamed as the lazy ijaw and ikwerre people suddenly saw abandoned properties to loot and claim.

The real cowards are the people of the south south together with the almighty treacherous yeereeeba loud mouthed people.

alas, ijaw man,  are you enjoying the nigeria that you fought for in 1967? if you are , good luck to you!

igbos were killed during the war. we had the most casualties. i think its left for us to decide if ojukwu misled us or not. or if ojukwu is a coward or not. for he fact that even families that lost people never regretted it says a lot about us.

Igbos will decide if Ojukwu is a coward not you pls. ok,  go and hold your jonathan to account, the spineless useless ijawa man currently unable to do anything. trembling and a weakling. Go and tell your brother to grow some balls and quit coming to the internet for a quickie!
That is a lie! This issue has been dealt with here, over and over again. Evidence:-

(vii) During the period of Biafrans troops’ presence in your territory, all political measures, statements or decrees shall be subject to the approval, in writing by myself or on my authority.

(viii) Should our troops arrive and liberate Lagos, the government of the Republic of Biafra reserves the right to appoint a Military administrator for the territory. Such an Administrator will remain in office until a merger of that territory with Yorubaland is effected by Biafran troops.

There's nothing showing the poster is Yoruba, so let's just make our point and not include any other tribe even if some childish bigots bait you to. I suspect where the poster may be from; trying his divisiveness on here to scuttle any chance of southern unity for obvious reasons. Lack of southern/Christian unity of purpose is why we are where we are today.

And please try not to insult Ghaddafi when making your point. That is if you feel the need to give this pointless thread more 'oxygen'.
Very well said. People should remember that Alh Harem and Ndu_chuck (Kanuri and Fulani, respectively) can speak fluent Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa.

Transfer armoury in Gaddafi possession to the Ibos, give them only three months and see if Yoruba have not vacated their entire land. To Ibos, be glad you are criticized, this is a proof you are growing. Criticism is a positive sign of growth. You are criticised because no one could compete with you. So welcome the critics.
Yoruba, I dare you to attack Ibos in Lagos and see if your population will not be decimated to a minority.

Thank you jare! Most, simply want to promote their states without any hint of objectivity. Well, Nigerians no go allow them. cheesy

Chuck D:
well well well, as for me, I'll give that tag "most enlightened" state to it. the state merits it but I'm suprised how so many of us just missed the point. alright, i'm not a psychologist but i beleive general enlightenment comes first from level of education, then interraction. these two factors helps an individual to 'refine' their thoughts and blends out to yeild innovation. historically, we know lagos used to be nigeria's capital. this status attracted a lot of 'educated' nigerians from all parts of the country. intellectuals from every culture brought their ideas and uniquess to the city. also, being the capital also meant that there was a lot of interraction with foreigners and being a port city was another huge influence (it was and still is a center of commerce). for those same reasons, london, new york et al. today, the trend is still very much in play. every foreign company touches down first in lagos. every creative nigerian believes they have better opportunities in lagos. every new technology gets to lagos first and all that jazz. personally, i'm a designer and even now, friends still ask if i wouldn't like to go to lagos; that i'm better off being there. those who don't know me well assume i'm a lagosian. i love sampling the suprise on their faces when they learn i'm not, never was and probably, never will be.
Very good analysis. As for being a Lagosian, you probably will be in you are permanently based in Nigeria.
