simontosy: They are killing people for political reasons,as far as I know Boko Haram of mohammed Yusuf is gonePlease qualify "THEY" |
alaoeri: Narrow escape, he maynot be lucky next time. Guess northern leaders are targets now maybe they 'll wake up from their slumber.guess they are doing this because the president (GEJ) is from minority niger delta ? |
Beaf: That is exactly how it should be.Lol. where have they gone? foolish comment. |
akereconfi: SITUATION REPORT.....yesterday was declared a HOLIDAY market wasn't opened. Crowds took the street of d capaital of Ogoni..BORI celebrating. U need to see the harmony. Long Live Ogoni.....in memory of Ken Beeson Saro Wiwa.pictures please, we need a link to the audio clip of that declaration. if it is true. |
gboss4sure: Long live ogoni land, long liveSorry sir; Nigeria is the only mate of Ogoni here (at least on NL). dont mention Biafra unless and until the have develop the liver to declare their own independence and stand by it. |
bayooooooo: lol. What a joke!compare this declaration with Boko haram declaration. which makes any sense sense? |
CHESSBOARD: He is a thief just like his commissionerswell, he actually taught them how to steal, and opened the treasury to them. remember he employed them, gave them schedule of duties and deliverables/targets. I don't know how long he has been in power and how long the thievery has lasted; but why just raising alarm now. |
Like father (GEJ) like son (TO). Excuses, excuses, excuses. Who is really in charge? |
jmaine: Am sure folks here are aware that Iweala categorically said that her 56% budget implementation rating was based on released funds and not the entire budget . . . .enter the defender; defender of arrogant ineptitude and covert mediocrity. thank you for the only sure one aware of iweala's statements. please interpret very well you may get 100% or more implementation !! gudlock to you and your paymastres. |
D-Explorer: ubandire: If not to attract cheap publicity and sympathy this article's headline would have been 'Mariam Ali to stand surety for suspected subsidy fraud Suspect'.I wonder how people have sworn to demonise this Gej led govt,if not for hatred, malice and blind pessimism, what in the world is wrong with an adult eligible Nigerian Standing surety for an 'accused'person? kutchs: Even those who try to ‘correct‘ them are no better. If the woman has broken any law, I demand that you take her to court or keep shut. erniok: What's the fuss all about and why the blatant display of hypocrisy. So because she's an aide to the president, she can't surety an accused anymore regardless of who the person is to her? Smh. kutchs: What does it mean to surety someone? The answer is to guarantee that someone will do something. Has she broken any law or contravened any moral code by guaranteeing that her suretee will appear anytime the courts needs him? I find it difficult to undestand why we are vexed. She will only become criminal when she fails to produce her suretee at any appointed day. You guys should give it a rest. Elueme: Mrs Ali is an adult and Nigerian like you and i whose child and an associate is standing trial.. She's at liberty to stand as surety for her son and friend just as a true mother will do for her son.. Is that worth a news or criticism? What points are you guys making? Are you from this planet? You pigs!. Why call PDP... Is Wale Tinubu a relative of Ahmed Tinubu your pay master not in this subsidy scam? Abi Tinubu no get shares for Oando? Super1759: is that all.so what are you gonna do about it D-Explorer: kutchs: And what if? Has she violated any provision of the constitution by so doing? In ur usual haste to condemn, you failed to remember the accused stands innocent until convincted. In as much as we want all of them to pay for their sins, we must respect their right to bail by whoever pleases and meets the bail conditions. ifihearam: What is wrong for her to stand surety for her son? Does that make her a culprit? They are suspects and not condemned criminals until the court discharges other wise there is nothig wrong in her actions. Why bringing GEJ into the matter now??was he the one who sent her. Abegii D-Explorer:THIS IS ALL THAT IS NEEDED TO FINALLY BURRY THIS COUNTRY. PEOPLE WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING; PEOPLE WITHOUT CONSCIENCE; PEOPLE WITHOUT MORALS. IT IS FINISHED!!!!!! NIGERIA IS DEAD AND NO MOURNERS IN SIGHT. |
lanre_front: Our leaders have completely lost their sense of shame. And many followers following the leaders, like the several we have here on Nairaland have lost their power of correct and proper reasoning. Some because of poverty and some because of greed. By large, according to the Ghanian Professor who called GEJ a joke after his last NTA Media Chat, "Nigerians are a phycologically conquered people".THE TRUTH; THE WHOLE TRUTH; AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH |
Yes. I have travelled to uk several times with only my gtb master card. although i consider risky, but i have never been disappointed. right now i'm in the states and doing my shopping with the card. if you need cash, just walk into a shop, buy something and request for cash back. you will be given the amount you need as change without charges. but if you use atm machine you will be charged by gtbank for withdrawing cash. u think its convenient and secure. goodluck |
niyitogun: We are investigating the issue and I assure you the perpetrators will be brought to book *brings out tissue n cries in front of tv cameras*and then travel out to jamaica https://www.nairaland.com/1004797/jonathan-travels-jaimaica-trinidad-and-tobago |
Enlightened1: Well, I really don't know what to say. But this is getting out of hand. The onus is on the Northern leaders to collectively put an end to the Boko Haram menace in the North. If they choose to ignore the threat, and support their Boko Haram brothers, so be it. They can keep killing, bombing and annihilating themselves, as long as they don't attack Christians. Before now I use to to think there was some political undertone to this Islamic sect. But I don't know what to think or believe anymore.you sure need a rethink. |
passionate88: Yet they keep saying it's political.... maybe it's an islamic political movementdont mind the fools. this will continue until someone have the guts to call the spade a spade. |
Acidosis: This is a bad record. .I tell you.@Acidosis or whatever you call yourself, this is coincidental and ironical; your name sounds botanical and you are talking zoological, in any case, they're all biological even though your thoughts are illogical. your president GEJ has a phd in zoology, Now answer these few questions: can you tell me how many zoos he has managed? or do you think nigeria is a zoo and is been taken care of by a zoologist? and if he can not manage a zoo with his phd in zoology how can he manage Nigeria as a nation of intelligent homo-sapiens? or are you just been sarcastic thereby ridiculing GEJ the more?? |
betrani: English to me shouldn't b a prerequisite! If u can deliver the job, fine! If u can go with german, spanish, dutch, chinese, swahili, etc and can get quality service rendered then to hell with who ever it is! D chinese that execute most jobs around today, are they so good in english? I agree with u 100%well, the language may not matter, what matters is the comprehension. and i insist that you must comprehend a problem before you can solve it. Mastery of your working language is absolutely necessary. whether it is english, french, japanese, chinese, russian etc. those chinese you refer to understand their language and it is their working language. they have their engineering books written in chinese. give a chinese worker instructions in yoruba language and wait for the result. your guess is as good as mine. and i can bet you the chinese you are referring to are very good at enlish language, they may not have the european or american accents, but they sure comprehend english very well, to the extent they can translate it to their language and work with it. since we did not develop our languages, and technology, we MUST learn and be sufficiently proficient in other peoples languages to be able to solve science, technology and engineering problems, because they have hidden the solutions in their language. if english is your problem, go with german, spanish, dutch, chinese, swahili etc as suggested above. otherwise if you strongly believe language does not matter in problem solving, write your computer programs in hausa, ibo, yoruba, or ijaw. |
knockturnal: Na wah o nairalanders! una bad mouth o. evry post made is now seen as an opportunity for every Tom, D*ick and Harry to express thier derogatary skills. When u climb the mountain and shout that Nigeria's education system is in the gutters, where did u do your own studying...on Mars? The assesment made by the poster is in no way a yardstick for measuring our education system. All it shows is that he conducted a test for dumb as*s* candidates. Am quite new to nairaland and i can deduce from comments i have read on various topics that our educational system has successfully produced bright, articulate and creative products which can hold thier own in any area where they are put to test. ITS NOT THE SYSTEM, ITS THE MATERIAL. For God's sake we have all heard of GIGO!(garbage in, garbage out.). A dumb student is a dumb student, in Nigeria, China, USA, UK even on Phukin Pluto! I went to a primary school where my class teacher would send me to sell soap and other product to her colleagues in nearby schools from 8am till school closes atleast thrice a week which invariably meant that i missed all that was taught for that day, but am still the brightest bulb in any room i enter.i graduted with a 4.37 CGPA. While my peer who went to a private daycare, KG, nursery, primary, secondary school brought his courseforms for me to fill where he had already indicated his course of study as 'FARMACE'(pharmacy). Its not the system for God's sake. Its YOU!i'm sorry, mr/mrs knockturnal, as a graduate with 4.37 CGPA, could you please define for us, a system without the material? this guy says three (3) out of sixty-seven (67) candidates, all graduates, actually knew the difference between the listed nine simple contemporaneous homophones. without any exaggeration this is scandalously alarming. you can not defend this anywhere. as it is here, the the material difference you are taking about is the three that passed, while the system produced the 67; that is to say, the norm is the 67 while the exception is the three. the system is supposed to help the dumb student to become knowledgeable, and anything short of that is an anomaly. this is the subject matter which is of serious consequence, and worthy of all the critical lamentations you are seeing here. |
obo_man: If I'm in a position to interview candidates, creativity and problem-solving skills would be what I will be looking for, rather than their ability to spell.Sorry sir; this is not only a mastery of words test, it is basic comprehension. you have to comprehend a problem before you can solve it. in this context, it is necessary master the working language. |
werepeLeri: You support someone, I support someone, but why do you see my support for GEJ as an offence? Why does it bother you? Why do you cry and sob and call people who support GEJ names? It beats me how a sane person will see people's support for GEJ as an offence. Why? Sometimes I just laugh it off as a product of a deranged soul. Why do you think like a lizard like that?@OP Please correct this warped impression of 'support'. your hypothesis is just too simplistic; and a failed attempt to make discerning minds look unreasonable. you paint a picture of competition where there are supporters on all side. This is not a sport match where we have supporters of opposing sides. in a sport game, you are entitled to support your team irrespective of the results, in some cases, the more your team is loosing, the more the sound of your support, so as not to let the loss affect the enjoyment of the game, thereby loosing both ways. (however, in Nigeria we have seen a situation where supporters of super eagles booed them strongly when they are not performing to expectation, considering the resources and time spent on them). The case of GEJ is that of governance; the security of lives and property, welfare of people, their future, their destiny. it goes beyond hand clapping and superficial drum supports. we have only one president; he is not competing with anyone. so your hypothesis of 'You support someone, I support someone' does not arise. who is the other 'someone' are you talking about? I'm not sure you understand the difference between support defense. what you so-called supporters are doing is just messy and illogical attempts to defend the indefensible actions and inactions of a president who does not give a damn. a president who is failing uncontrollably. the country is worse of than he met it. doing so little and achieving very small. just as if there is no president? Now to your question. you are not supporting GEJ, you are trying to justify his poor showing. have you ever heard of the phrase "falure is an orphan"? that is why GEJ doe not have the 'supporters' you are talking about. that is is why sane people would normally not understand the rationale for the blind support for GEJ. that is why people differ with those who claim to be supporters of GEJ. that is why people would normally not be happy with those who are drumming GEJ's support while he is leading the country to the abyss. GEJ has been given the required quantum of support (undevided), all the powers (any thing you can think of) to succeed as a presiden. what support are you talking about? a president does not need people to dedicate their lives clapping for him or drumming his support. he is supposed to carry out his functions as stipulated in the constitution. every other citizen should also do his own bit. that's all. |
yes, its good he abandons it. it was ill-advised in the first place. it is a show of character to beat a retreat at this time. |
there dignity of labour |
jaybee: But remember IBB made the most positive impact and his legacies are all around for everyone to enjoy, see, touch, feel, caress and ruminate over. pls my brother/sister just take leave of your mental laziness, do a little research on the leaders/leadership on nigeria, in terms of policy, initiative, courage, influence, inclusion, performance, action, impact, character, professionalism, patriotism, and above all, knowledge of when to let go. |
Mahatma Ghandi: This is one of africa's problems, how can an institution bring a one time military dictator with lots of moral questions on his character to give a lecture, this is why other continents don't take africa seriously,IBB giving them a lecture is an endorsement on all IBB did as military head of state and also a vote of confidence on his person, until we learn as a nation to distance ourselves from criminality and criminal behaviours we will continue to get it wrong. But remember IBB made the most positive impact and his legacies are all around for everyone to enjoy, see, touch, feel, caress and ruminate over. pls my brother/sister just take leave of your mental laziness, do a little research on the leaders/leadership on nigeria, in terms of policy, initiative, courage, influence, inclusion, performance, action, impact, character, professionalism, patriotism, and above all, knowledge of when to let go. back to IBB's address: recall that IBB established the National Defence College (NDC) Abuja. that strategic vision of of his is one of the legacies being celebrated at twenty. credit must be given to him for that. i guess its an honour to him, and also to the course participants to drag him out of his comfort for this lecture. not all leave to see what they establish flourish like this one. this is what he thought more than twenty years ago. besides, may i ask: since the establishment of the National war college (now National Defense College) tell me one single spectacular thing that has happened in Nigeria armed forces at that level. when you attempt to criticize, please do so in such a way that you don't betray the abysmal level of your ignorance, just like you've just done now. information on all these socalled leaders, thieves conmen, rogues, etc abound in the literature. just a little research on any of them will avail you some facts on them. your reliance on all political cliches and sectional jingles will not help you. |
dasparrow: @Postfrom your post, your knowledge of BH is and its operations is less than adequate. say emphatically: those who are shielding members of the boko haram are not few. their numbers may vary from location to location but in most cases those shielding and supporting the boko harams are in the majority. no need to shy away from that.man, no one acn run away from his shadow. |
Biggyd2: Disturbed by the protracted security challenges confronting the North, the Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) has fixed an emergency meeting of the regional body for Thursday 26 July.they are not yet disturbed. until the false entity called nigeria dissolves and they no longer get the monthly allocation before they will know what is disturbance. |
miteolu: It means this people enjoy curfew. GEJ will return everlasting curfew.Just do your legitimate duty as president. no more no less. not just overwhelmed and excited with the position, occupying asso rock and doing nothing good enough for the country. |
2rut: Gov Fashola was wrong to arrest a senior Army officer. A disgrace to entire arm forces and citizens of Nigeria. He should have used more civilized approach colonel in Nigeria army represents entire nation while Gov Fashola represents entire Lagos state. Anyway, Gov fashola is lucky; a flag officer will command his aides de camp to double up fashola 2rut: To arrest a senior army officer is a big slap on Nigeria arm forces.Gov fashola is not a police officer.he should take note and querry the officer on duty. Pls remember fela vs soldiers (Zombie na zombie all over the world).Fashola take note you may not survive the war? What Gov. Fashola did is in perfect order. Governor is not supposed to look at somebody's face before arresting the person(s). it could have been any other person. decides he did hot take the officer into custody; he reprimanded him when he discovered that he is an officer. Governor Fashola is the chief security officer in Lagos State. if hr has the power to order arrest, the he can as well arrest. no ultravires there. |
Sisi_Kill: Oh just look at them!!This picture is taken on board a flight. so i don't know what you are insinuating. |
Billyonaire: Orji, in as much as I dont like Tinubu, can you tell us what you have done with the monthly allocation you receive in the name of Abia State ? Stop talking trash, ACN governors in Lagos and Edo State are known to develop states during first term and loot during second term, but you loot all the way.ACN governor in Edo state loot during second term ?? ![]() |
