PoliticsRe: Jonathan Okays Sovereign National Conference, SNC To Take Off Next Year by jaybee(f): 12:17pm On Oct 01, 2012
mymadam: A National Conference on its own will turn out to be a super exercise in futility and a possible criminal waste of tax-payers' money. The National Assembly, being the 'representatives of the Nigerian people' tongue can handle that. What Nigerians want and deserve is a SOVEREIGN NATIONAL CONFERENCE, without no-go areas. The difference is clear. Well, we are waiting & watching. God bless Nigeria.
Well, i have a somewhat different view on this. a conference is a conference. its outcome is far more important than the name; nomenclature. the outcome, meaningful or not, will be determined by the active participants, which is also contingent on the mode of selection of the participants. even if it is called SOVEREIGN NATIONAL CONFERENCE (IN CAPITALS) and it is arranged by the government of the day it does not make it sovereign.

on the issue of national assembly, they have shown, consistently that they are for their bellies and pockets; not for the people. that is what brought about the idea of national conference, by whatever name it is called. but a national meeting to discuss the way forward is desirable. in my opinion, nigeria in her present state and leadership/followership, there is little hope for this country.

NOT CORRECT. LIES AND DECEPTIONS! I TOTALLY DISAGREE!!

NOT ALL HANDS MUST BE ON DECK.

THERE ARE SOME CROOKED AND LEPROUS HANDS THAT MERE TOUCHING THE DECK WILL WRECK THE SHIP. IN ANY CASE, THE NIGERIAN SHIP IS MANNED BY CROOKS (SCAMMERS AND CABALS) WHO ARE SO MANY THAT GOOD HANDS WILL NEVER GET CLOSE TO THE DECK! HOW BIG IS THE DECK?? IT IS BEING RESTRICTED BY THE CABAL.
PoliticsRe: Gowon Did Not Cede Bakassi - Akinjide by jaybee(f): 2:43pm On Sep 28, 2012
PointB: Gowon is alive, and very articulate to boot! Let him speak for him self. I don't understand the unbridled propensity for slaves to speak for their masters!
Gowon is too principled to join issues with those who deliberately attempt to distort facts of history, to gain illusive regional political relevance, in a country where people rely on rumors and heresay instead of simply cross-checking available records.

who ever needs a soothsayer to tell him/her that the Federal Government needed to cede bakassi in order to crush an internel rebellion??

Well your guess is as good as mine.

Anyway, the Jinx has been broken by our very own President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
If you ask me, the office looks really good and welcoming.

What do you make of the president's office - Cool or nothuh
The office does not make the president; the president makes the office.

AjanleKoko: Gbawe, I know you're an ACN man, and would feel the need to criticize the PDP government. Which is fair enough
My position is, the government simply has not got going. A lot can be achieved but so many things have not started at all.
Maybe we need to look beyond partisan politics, and the parties need to work together.
i dont understand the logic in your response to an ACN man. do you mean after thirteen (13) years (1999-2012) the PDP 'government simply has not got going' and 'A lot can be achieved but so many things have not started at all.'

now if that is not failure, pls give it a befitting name for it.

who is playing partisan politics here. anything ordinary (sic) Nigerians suffering under the burden of poor PDP leadership would not say is dismissed with labelled partisan politics and dismissed with the wave of hand simply because the PDP have no plausible or rational/logical response to it. its a pity. and your boss, gej, is hopelessly notorious for that.

we are talking of the survival of a failed country fast spiralling into an eminent spontaneous explosion; and you trivialize it with a vague and simplistic worn out cliche of partisan politics. pls wake up from your slumber. a million people saying gej is bad does not change him; a million people saying gej is good does not change him either. we are talking of poor and insensitive governance, of which he is the head.

Garri_Activist: Why are you christians looking for trouble na undecided

Is it by force to become a christian? huh

Why not serve your jesus and let others serve whtever they feel like serving!

You people just can't stand the fact that Islam is making progress every blessed day, abi?

You explore hatred, jealousy and even ready to do anything to portray Islam in a bad name but the God is always behind the true religion.

My advice to fellow muslims is to remain calm and let Allah protect us as he promise to.

Thnx!
Why are Christians the first targets of aggression when anything perceived, by muslims, as unislamic is done. how do you know it is Christians are publishing the magazine?. this is the illogical, irrational, baseless and blanket thinking that lead you muslims to start targeting unsuspecting christians who have nothing to do with your usually grossly misplaced anger.

in any case, if the publishers are christians, are they carrying out a collective decision of the christians or representing christians?

i think there is more to what muslims call religion than meet the eye. you muslims should be courageous enough to say it loud and clear.

I expected the miltary to use the fake members as splinter cell to infiltrate the main boko haram.Anyways, the fact that there is a crisis in the boko haram camp is a welcome development.
Sorry sir, there are no fake members of BH. one can are either be a member or not. BH may have a very loose entry but the exit is tight. they have intelligence barometers that monitor the reliability of their members, especially the new (suspicious) ones and that determines their live or death on the earth. its not that easy to infiltrate BH using splinter cells. there will be war in which case the ability of our security agencies to protect the splinter group is in doubt.

truth be told. our security agencies have their tentacles spread throughout the length and breath of this country; they have men on ground doing intelligence gathering for national security. for them to be caught pants down almost always all the time lives much to be desired. the call (and seemingly over-dependence) on ordinary citizens for information ans solution to the shameful BH menace, good as it is, may not provide the desired results. that is why the call on IBB, Atiku, Buhari, etc etc etc , powerless individuals disconnected by geography, thoughts, education, philosophies, age, ambitions, history and temperaments to solve a challenge of the gargantuan magnitude of BH with the word of mouth is, at best, pitiable. the problem of BH will be solved as soon as the chief security officer of this country admits that the onus is on him to stop it, and not other imaginary 'powerful' ordinary nigerians, by whatever name called or garb worn.

@ proudlyafrican Where did you check? pls quote a reference to support your claim

mekaboy: EL RUFAI DOES NOT HAVE TO BE IN GOVT TO HOLD MEETING WITH NORTHERN LEADERS AND PROVIDE SOLUTIONS. I AM NOT SAYING GEJ SHOULD IGNORE THE PROBLEM OF INSECURITY MAINLY IN THE NORTH BECAUSE HE DID NOT CREATE IT.

WHAT I AM SAYING IS THAT THE NORTHERN LEADERS WHO THE PROBLEM GENERATED FROM THEIR REGION, HAVE NOT EVEN PROVIDED A SOLUTION, THEY ARE THE ONES WHO SHOULD PRESENT A SOLUTION TO GEJ, IF HE FAILS TO IMPLEMENT THEIR SOLUTION THEN THEY CAN START ASKING HIM TO STEP DOWN.

NOW WHAT SOLUTION HAVE THE NORTH PROVIDED.

1, THEY ASKED GEJ TO DIALOGUE WITH BOKO HARAM. WHAT IS BOKO HARAMS DEMAND ? "ACCEPT ISLAM OR RESIGN " IS THAT THE MESSAGE THEY WANT TO PASS TO GEJ ?

2, THEY ARE CLAIMING THAT THE PROBLEM IN THE NORTH IS A RESULT OF POVERTY AND ASKING FOR MORE MONEY. HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE? WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR POVERTY ? DONT THEY HAVE GOVERNORS AND LOCAL GOVT THAT RECEIVE ALLOCATION? WHAT HAVE THEY USED THE MONEY FOR? THOSE ARMS THAT BOKO HARAM MEMBERS USE WHO PROVIDES IT ?

IS IT UNTIL GEJ GOT INTO POWER THAT THE NORTHERNERS REALIZED THEY HAVE BEEN MARGINALIZED ?

HOW COME NO CONCRETE INFORMATION COMES OUT OF EVERY ARREST MADE IN THE NORTH ABOUT THE SPONSORS OF BOKO HARAM ? WITH ALL THE BOMB FACTORIES AND ARRESTS MADE IN THE NORTH, NO INFORMATION ON SPONSORS.?

THE SAME PEOPLE THAT COMPLAIN THAT THE MILITARY IS TOO HARSH ON THE PEOPLE AND ASK GEJ TO CALL BACK THE TROUPES ARE THE SAME ASKING HIM TO STEP DOWN IF HE CANT BE COMPETENT .

SITTING DOWN THERE AND ASKING GET TO STEP DOWN IF HE IS NOT COMPETENT, MY QUESTION TO THEM IS "STEP DOWN FOR WHO "? WILL BOKO HARAM END IF ANOTHER PRESIDENT OUTSIDE THE NORTH EMERGES. ? OR ARE THEY ASKING HIM TO STEP DOWN FOR A NORTHERN LEADER?

SINCE THEY CANT GET INCREASE IN ALLOCATION WITH THEY DEMAND, THEY CREATE A STATE OF INSECURITY, AND ASK THE FG TO RELEASE MORE FUNDS TO THE POLICE AND MILITARY IN THE NORTH, WHICH THOSE IN CHARGE OF POLICE AND MILITARY IN THE NOT WILL SHARE WITH THE NORTHERN LEADERS.

HAVE U EVER SAT DOWN TO CALCULATE HOW MUCH NIGERIA HAS SPENT ON EQUIPPING THE POLICE AND ARMY YEARLY ? THERE IS NO ACCOUNT FOR SUCH FUNDS, NEITHER IS THERE ANY IMPROVEMENT.

SO HERE IS THE DEAL.

THE NORTHERN LEADERS CONSPIRE WITH THE HIGH RANKING OFFICIALS IN THE ARMY AND POLICE TO CREATE A STATE OF INSECURITY, FG GOVT RELEASES MORE FUNDS FOR SECURITY IN THE NORTH, THEY SHARE IT.

IM SURE GEJ HAS NOTICED THAT EVEN THE NORTHERN LEADERS PRETEND TO CARE ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON IN THEIR REGION, BUT ALL THEY REALY WANT IS MORE FUNDS TO LOOT.

UNFORTUNATELY, GEJ HAS BEEN LISTENING TO THEM AND TRYING TO THREAD SOFTLY, WHEN HE DECIDES TO STRIKE, IT BECOMES TRIBAL, THEY SAY GEJ WANTS TO USE THE ARMY TO WIPE OUT THE NORTH.

BUT ITS TIME FOR A BLOOD BATH IN THE NORTH, STARTING FROM THE NORTHERN LEADERS. THE TROUPES SHOULD GO IN AND KILL UNTIL THE PEOPLE START TO CONFESS.
@ mekaboy you just exposed your crass ignorance of the security situation in Nigeria - you makes no sense

WHY ARE NORTHERNERS ASKING GEJ TO STEP DOWN OVER A PROBLEM THEY CREATED? ARE THEY NOT THE SAME PEOPLE THAT WERE SHOUTING WHEN SOLDIERS INVADED THE NORTH, THEY CLAIMED THEY WERE KILLING INNOCENT CITIZENS.

IF THEY KEEP PROVOKING GEJ, HE WILL SEND IN TROUPES AND IT WILL BE VERY BLOODY .
